I love him...there's nothing else to say. Whenever he talks about Ludicris or Kanye West I just start laughing. He makes an effort to get to know his students, and to make the class interesting. I've never met someone more excited about meteorology. Definately take him for a science requirement.

Without a doubt the best teacher in the science department. The class itself is quite interesting and he makes it alot of fun. He told us the first day spend the money on beer and not the book. He is very down to earth and keeps up with the times. Not afraid to make a good joke and make us laugh. Take his course!!!!

Joby is cool, He is so funny. The one thing I like about this class is that it is a bit of a challenge, but he makes it very interesting. I wish he taught all of the classes that I had left in my college career! Everybody should take him!

There is nothing bad about Dr Hilliker! He is an awesome professor and he really enjoys what he teaches and that makes it fun to learn with him. His head isnt up his butt like most professors, but he is still professional and creates a great learning atmosphere. I really learned a lot and had a good time! cant say that about any other class!!!!!!

I loved taking ESS 170. I was so sad when it ended. I would recommend that everyone should take Joby's class. It is worth your wild. So much fun and I learned a lot.

joby is the best teacher i've ever had. his class was the only one i've ever taken where i actually learned useful knowledge, and he made it fun. the class will make you think a little, but with the smallest amount of effort, you should get an A. unless you're an idiot.

the question of the day...what can we glean from joby's class? Dr.Hilliker has a crazy way of making weather interesting. Class is funny and up beat. With Mountain Dew running through his veins, seldom is there a dull moment. Test's are hard but if you study and pay attention in class you should be fine.

I can never say enough good things about Dr. Hilliker. He has so much enthusiasm for his subject area that the class is both highly informative and entertaining. His tests are tricky, but only because the ?'s force you to think critically. If you study, you'll be fine. Plus, Joby's adorable beyond belief!

joby is the best!! not only is he hysterical and crazy. he actually makes learning about clouds interesting...it doesn't hurt that he is so adorable too!!! if you ever need a science gen ed or have extra room in your schedule take a joby class, you wont be dissapointed!!!

Dr. Hilliker is one of the best educators I have had in a very long time . He takes the time to insure comprehension and truly cares about his students . He is a patient, funny , caring professor and we are lucky to have him at WCU. You will not regret taking this course. Compared to the other science classes , this one is by far the best

Joby was so much fun. He makes jokes to keep you paying attention. Some concepts are hard to understand but if you just ask him he'll explain it to you. Really fun class.

joby is great! he is the only professor in college that actually takes the time to get to know his students. If anyone has a problem he is always there to help! The class is pretty easy if you go over the material. The textbook is non existent, he gives you a book of blank power point slides in the beginning of the semester. Tests aren't hard!

Joby is a classy guy. Has running jokes all semester, and he knows your name by the second week of class. Literally gives you a fill in the blank textbook, and his tests aren't that hard either. Definitely a great teacher, I definitely recommend him. Nothing bad to say about this guy

Joby is the man! his jokes are so bad they are funny! If you need to meet a gen ed science requirement. take it!!Hilarious, really interesting (i hate science but loved this class) Quizzes and Tests are easy if you look over your notes and you do one easy presentation. You do a forecasting contest for EC which gets competitive and is a lot of fun!

This class is awesome and Joby makes meteorology interesting and fun. He tries hard to make sure everyone understands the concepts he's teaching and is very approachable. I highly suggest taking a class with him.

Joby is a fantastic teacher. I don't like science much, but I LOVED his class. You buy a notebook with all the slides in it and take notes in that. Tests are a little hard but plenty of in class grades to balance it out. Forecast contest each week is a lot of fun and gets people engaged. I highly recommend taking him! My favorite class to date.

Great choice of classes. Took a subject I dreaded before starting and made it fascinating. Fascinating cadence, funny expressions, lots of wisdom. Prints his own book, has fun yet educational competitions like the weather prediction contest, and gives special winners autographed cloud pictures. Dr. Hilliker is AWESOME!!! I hated Science before this class and thought I could not comprehend it. He makes the material SO easy to understand and apply! If anyone can take a non-science person like me and enable me to tie for the highest A in the class on a test, he is a MIRACLE WORKER! TAKE HIM!!!

This professor is awesome! The work load is sufficient but expected for a 300 lv course. Joby is hilarious is a corny sort of way but he will keep you and the entire class interested and engaged throughout. I dont even really like meteorology but he is by far my favorite professor I have had at West Chester. Take his classes!

Hilliker became one of my favorite professors at wcu. His class is challenging but he makes the material interesting and the 2 hr class flew by. He is an awesome professor and does a great job presenting the information. I would definitely recommend this class!!!

Dr. Hilliker is extremely passionate about meteorology and teaching. Show up to class and participate, don't simply memorize - be able to think critically about the concepts! Take the tests seriously, do the extra credit, and I hope you like bad weather puns because they're a daily occurrence... Very funny, caring and knowledgable professor.

Joby is the best teacher EVER. I had class early in the morning but I always looked forward to going to class just because Dr. Hilliker was such a great teacher. The course material was not always the easiest, but Joby taught it so well and no one ever seemed to have trouble once exams came around. Take his class, you will NOT regret it! :)

Dr. Hilliekr is a great professor. Very funny, encouraging, and inspirational. He dealt with challenging material in a way that made it fun. I had zero interest in "our atmosphere", took it to graduate, and LOVED the course. One of the best teachers I've encountered. If I were young and "spry", I'd consider being a meteorologist thanks to him!

You actually want to go to class. Not tough, but you actually learn and will probably want to be a meteorologist after taking this course. I was skeptical at first, but glad I took the course. Fulfills that requirement for graduation too. Textbook is needed.

Dr. Hilliker is hilarious and a very good, caring teacher. He may have butchered a name or two throughout the semester however he does care about each individual student. He puts a lot of effort into structuring his class and is extremely well prepared for each lecture. I honestly wasn't too fond of him at first but I really like and respect him.

Take advantage of his office hours if you are confused, he will be sure to help clarify. I would take him for every class if I could!

OMG. Love Joby! I struggled in this class in the beginning because it can get hard at times. But as long as you show up and study, you'll be fine! Overall he is hilarious and gives amazing feedback!

Dr. Hilliker is such a nice, quirky guy. Unfortunately, I only got to meet him once, and then the rest of the classes were online. The work was definitely challenging, but more so because it was online. LOTS of homework and quizzes. Regardless, Joby is so sweet and gets back to you fast if you have questions. He's caring and kind and helpful.

This class was the online winter session and condensed to 14 days. It was a lot of information to comprehend and absorb, involves critical thinking but it's nothing impossible. Lectures are clear, light-hearted and necessary b/c he includes info in lectures that are not on the powerpoints, great professor, extra credit is possible

You have to go to class because there is in class quizzes. Mine was half online so only one class a week, quizzes were so easy and so were the tests, he is super funny and caring, lot of extra credit, interesting class, definitely take it! i would take him again if i could, easy A if you just watch the lectures.

Dr. Hilliker is such a nice person and os so passionate about that he does. Even though FYE is not what he usually teaches, he still gave his all in the class. He made the class interesting a useful. I really appreciate all of the work he put into it.

This class was really great overall, but the quizzes were extremely hard compared to the tests. He is one of the funniest professors I've ever had and I'm really glad I took this course!

This class has by far been my favorite throughout my college career. Dr. Hilliker's passion shows in his teaching. His lectures and labs, along with feedback, were immensely helpful to the learning process. The quizzes and example questions are also a huge help. I really thoroughly learned in ESS370, instead of just cramming for tests.

Engaging, funny, and honestly great at teaching

Dr. Hilliker was an awesome professor. Really cares about his students, and makes his classes as entertaining as possible. All of his lectures are online, and all quizzes, activities, and exams are in person. As long as you watch the lectures, and fill out the course packet you'll do fine.

Dr. Hilliker is a great professor, he states what he's looking for in assignments, gives various extra credit opportunities, and explains due dates so there's no confusion. He seems passionate about meteorology in his lectures, and responds to emails quickly. Course load is extremely manageable for someone (like me) with little science background.

great teacher and understanding I was a blended course, there was a quiz every week to the lecture we just learned but it was easy if you did the notes and practice quiz.

I honestly thought this class was difficult while watching the lectures and reading the power points. You cannot use the internet in this class all the work is through what he assigns. The tests werent the easiest but he only gives a weekly homework assignment and 3 exams with a 5 minute presentation so the workload isnt bad. Very nice guy.

I am not one to rate professors on this sit, let alone type a summary of my experience, but with Dr. Hilliker I couldn't help myself. ESS 170 was one of my favorite courses i've taken at WCU. Dr. Hilliker was a great teacher! Breaks down hard material if you aren't familiar or good with it and is hilarious in all his classes. He really cares about his students. You must purchase his packet which isnt a problem and its used in every class.

He is seriously so awesome. You barely even have to study as long as you go to class. His textbook is so clear and has visual examples in color. He is so happy at his job, and I love going to his class because he makes it so fun. He is able to explain things so easily, and I never struggled with the material. I completely recommend Dr. Hilliker

Dr. Hilliker is literally your funny dad joking meteorology professor. He creates a very fun teaching atmosphere and really shows he loves what he does for a living. He provides hands on experience and knowledge of what he teaches with labs. You will have just about no homework whatsoever if you show up to his class. He gives excellent feedback.

Joby is hands down one of the best professors at West Chester University. He is so funny, and he is so passionate about meteorology it makes students interested too. He always has funny ways to remember things, he's super personable, helpful, and kind. Great class, for non-geo majors, take ESS 170 as your science gen ed, you'll learn a lot!

If you're getting anything but an A in this class you're honestly just mad stupid or just doing nothing. Mr Hilliker is also one of the nicest and best professors I've had, makes class entertaining even with a subject as lame as meteorology. I'm surprised this guy has anything but 5 star reviews.
