Did not lecture at all before lab, Grading was EXTREMELY unfair. She would ask exam questions that weren't even in the book. DO NOT TAKE

She is awful. If you take her. Be prepared to know everything about the material you are going over and then some. She pulls stuff out of no where and expects you to know it. This is not a fair class and I do not recommend you take her.

I was auto assigned into this class and it has turned into a living nightmare. Her tests are very unpredictable and she pulls the questions out of no where. She gets her tests from a test bank and often can't fill it out her self i.e. getting the key wrong. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER. SAVE YOUR SELF AND YOUR GPA

Never ever ever take this lady, for anything. She will make you hate your life. Like everyone else has said, her tests are absolutely ridiculous. She doesn't write her tests and can't even answer some of the questions on it. She's horrible at lecture and just rambles the whole time. With sweat and tears I did well in her class but it was miserable

this professor is AWFUL . After i didnt do well on the first test i emailed her asking for help and she never emailed back. She reads directly from the powerpoint , but her tests resemble nothing remotely similiar to it. Run as far as you can

WORST PROFESSOR EVER! She has no idea what she's doing. Very unprofessional & unorganized. Her tests, which she doesn't even make, are terrible. When you need help, you'd be better off not asking her b/c she won't know the answer. You will fail the class if you do not read the book. Lectures are a waste of time. THE WORST PROFESSOR AT UTC.

DO NOT TAKE HER! I am not joking. She will ruin your life (especially if you are a pre-nursing major). Her tests are impossible and her lectures are not helpful at all. I would never, ever, ever recommend this teacher to anyone. I had her for anatomy and physiology and my life was very stressful.

TERRIBLE! DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE TAKE! I went to office hours to ask how to study for her exams and she said know the material. She claims her test are easy. haha yeah right. Her physiology lab is super easy, but lecture is impossible. She grades with a bell curve so pray that the class is as bad at taking test as you are. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

I got an A in the class but its bc i worked hard & she grades on a bell curve. She doesn't give back tests and she makes a new test every time. She talks really fast and doesn't slow down, also she contradicts the book. She does Top Hat questions in class for a grade, so you have to go. She covers way more material in chapters than other teachers.

Jodi Caskey is the WORST teacher I have ever had in my entire academic career. She does not have a grasp on the material she is teaching. I corrected her multiple times in class. Her test are extremely difficult and cover materials that she does not list in her study guide. I feel like I got ripped off by UTC with this teacher. Take Bramblett!

This was a horrible class. I would study 20+ hours for the exams and would still do bad. She contradicts herself in lecture a lot. She loves to reuse questions from tophat on her exams. She always has 50 multiple choice questions on her tests and then the rest fill in the blank. She also does play favorites in her class.

Do not take her class! Worse professor I have ever! Does not give much help even in office hours.

She is by far the worst anatomy teacher at UTC. I would study for weeks for these test and the test were nothing like the notes. When going to class the only thing you have time for is taking notes, no time to understand what she is saying!! She gives no help, and she can not answer the questions on the test or any you have in class!! AWFULL!!!!

Do NOT take her.. wait to take the class with another professor. She expects that you memorize every single thing in the notes, book, videos, and supplemental information. She is no help during office hours and becomes annoyed when you ask questions. Anatomy is a lot of information but a professor should not be this difficult. She is terrible.

I would literally walk out in front of cars to not have to go to Caskey's class. I got the highest grade on the fourth test and I made a 14 out of 100. She isn't very helpful. She, herself, hasn't even taken physiology or anatomy, her degree is in Marine Biology. Avoid at all cost, especially if you like your GPA/hopes of getting in nursing school.

I had all As in every other class I was taking this semester, but barely finished with a D in her lab. There is a quiz at the beginning of ever class covering what you did the previous class and the lab that you will be doing that day. If you miss one class you cannot make up the quiz even if you have a doctors note. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!

Do not take this professor. She is a very kind lady and is a decent at teaching, but is a very difficult grader and a bad professor. She took up to 3 months to grade multiple big assignments. Our final exam average score was a 25/50, and the class average was in the 50s. Please avoid at all costs. I scored well in lecture but lab destroyed my grade

This professor has been one of my worst educators yet. Very intimidating, which makes it difficult to discuss concerns with her, not concerned with making sure you understand the material and if you answer a question wrong in her class, be prepared to be humiliated. I did well in the class, but because of one grade, I ended up with a C-.

She is a nice lady, but tests are completely different from anything she does in the lecture or in the textbook. I do not recommend taking her class and would wait for another professor to take.

She is very confusing in lecture & messes up a lot to which the students have to correct her. Her tests make no sense comparing it to what she is teaching in class. She is used to having a longer class so she makes it seem like you have all day. The last test we took, 3/4 of the students didnt finish the test & she told everyone to hand them in.

At the time I was taking Physiology professor Casey was the only teacher teaching the class at the time. I would defiantly not recommend her, avoid her if possible. Her exams were never the same format with lots of free response questions. I took phys with anatomy and if your thinking of doing this: it is very possible! Go for it!!

I took Caskey for blended anatomy lab and you should avoid at all costs. She moves very fast and grades very hard. There are only tests and quizzes basically so if you mess them up your screwed. The amount of studying you would have to do in order to pass this class means the death of your social life. I changed my major because of this class.

This class was one of the hardest classes I have ever been in and I dropped it half way through. So much material in such little time. You have a quiz every week that cover 30+ things you learned in the week. The tests are super hard and cover so much material that it takes you hours everyday to try to cram in the material. Don't recommend at all.

NO WORD BANK! she honestly made me hate the subject. and its my major.

Seems like a cool gal out of class, but she is such a tough grader even if you study for hours. Never passed a single test, even though the material was easy. Her class made me drop my previous major of exercise science.

Let me put this simply: I dropped her after one class, but not for the reason you think. (I am not afraid to work hard and usually enjoy a challenge). I dropped her because the way she spoke to the TAs was demeaning. She called out and embarrassed a student who was repeating the course. She was mean, tbh, & seemingly on a power trip.

Took the first test last week and the class average was 48 and got mad at us for it. There is so muchh content to know that you cant fit it all in i studied for 14 and still got 41.

Unrealistic and a quite pitiful class. Could be taught with more respect and patience. Expects you to treat this class as your only priority. Would not recommend at all.

Avoid her at ALL COSTS! Her exams are the hardest part about her class and the lectures are difficult to follow along with. She doesn't care about the well being of her students and I say this from experience because I reached out for help and pretty much got turned down and told that all material posted was all she had for me to use.

She basically posts slides and reads them through lecture. you'll have about 4 homework assignments a week that do not correlate with any of her lecture slides. she gets confused with what she is teaching so nobody ever goes to her class and instead has to teach themselves. she doesn't care about teaching or your grade

This class was awful, I do not recommend it.

I missed a class but still completed the work. She checks our lab manuals the next time we have class, so I asked her to grade mine. She then proceeded to ASSUME that I copied off of another student. She gave me a 0. The lab questions were straight forward and easy, so there was no need for me to copy another student! To me, she has a god-complex!

Very Emotional, her mood sets the tone for the class and it's frequently not a good one. Likes to make smart/degrading comments if you don't understand something. The class itself is not very hard as long as you study thoroughly. Beware of your eyes during quizzes. My lab partner got accused of cheating when they didn't.

I would strongly advise against Caskey for an intro course especially if you have to take Bio 2 or 3 these concepts will come back. The lectures were scattered and hard to follow with lots of rambling. She is hard to reach outside of class and kind of mean, unapproachable, and dismissive. HER TESTS ARE THE WORST!

This class was far too difficult for was it was supposed to be.. a lab. Also this professor is not kind in the slightest and expects you to know HER definition of science terms instead of the actual definition. Which got me.

This professor does absolutely nothing to help her students. Her lectures are just her reading slides. Do your own research outside of class. Also, her exams are awful. If the class average is a 40, it is obviously the teacher's problem.

This class was the worst class I have ever taken. She does not give good feedback on work and routinely yells and scrutinizes students. I would not recommend taking her classes.

I would NOT recommend this prof.if you can't memorize 30+ PowerPoint slides,3 Chapters from your textbook,and the other info. that she says while lecturing,every single week because I promise you that you will be stressed and completely lost because she wants you to understand HER definitions for things instead of what we need to know for the test.

She wants her students to know HER definitions, so reading the textbooks and going back over the slides simply didn't do anything for me. She essentially told us at the beginning of the year that reading the online textbook wouldn't do much because she didn't cover half of that information. If you can take anyone else's class, I would.

Worst professor I have ever had.

Signing up for this class was the worst choice I ever made. She is the most condescending, superiority complexed person I think I have ever met. And besides the attitude where she always blames the students, the test that she gives are NOTHING like what she teaches in class. She has told our class to not even study her slides cause it wont help!!!!

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! this is actually the worst class i have ever taken. she is very nit-picky, especially with short answer questions (which makeup all of her tests and quizzes). she is racist (multiple instances of microaggressions) and does not want the students to do well. she has so much homework and if you miss one you are doomed it just piles up from there. Her lectures are hard to understan and her exams are lengthy and difficult. She is a very intimidating professor to try to talk to outside of class. She wants you to know her way and no one elses. The book didn't help because it never lined up wd/ what she said

I changed my major because of her. I spelled the word mitochondrion wrong and she counted 10 points off my test no joke. I went to her for help and she was completely dismissive and said something along the lines of "if you have questions about that, this major might not be for you". I WAS ASKING ABOIT PLANT STRUCTURES FOR CLARIFICATION. Awful.

Goes really fast through so much material that it's really hard to keep up in the class. Tests and quizzes are really difficult too.

She overcomplicates everything. Involves chemistry as well as organic chemistry into her lectures for it being an intro class. You also have to pay attention to what she says in class because she leaves out a lot of info in her slides. Also said that the text book and slides will NOT help you for exam. is also very nitpicky and rude. do NOT take!!!

She was a character that was for sure! I personally did not enjoy her class as she made it so hard to follow along and understand due to how many tangents she would go on that did not pertain to what we were learning!!! Pick anyone else, like truly! Her tests are hard! So, get ready to basically have bio invade your life!

Dr. Jodi "R-word" Caskey likes to make her exams as hard as possible. You have to know everything about everything to do well. If you study the lectures, you fail. If you watch the videos on canvas, you'll do a bit better. Attendance is mandatory and her office hours don't help. Bio 1 should not have been this hard.
