Very Nice teacher, talks a bit fast, not really into her students

shes a hypocrite and she can make you feel really stupid when you answer a question, wouldnt recommend

Overall she wasn't the worst professor. I am pretty sure she let us leave early every class. Take notes and study for exams. Her projects are a joke, they're so easy. It's interpersonal communication so unless your a monkey, the concepts are common sense.

she might be a hard grader but she wants what she wants, and if you give her that you will do fine. Shes clear and interesting. She was my favorite professor in my first semester at suffolk, and my top 3 through my 2nd year. i recommend her despite what other LAZY people mght say bad about her.

Straight forward approach better than most. Teaches by example.

I thought she was a great teacher...as long as u do the work she tells u to do, u will be fine...the brunt of the work in the class are the 2 speeches, and individual one, and a group one...as long as u follow the guidelines, u will be fine..and she gives plenty of review for the final and midterm

She is great. You have to do some work, but she gives the best review sheets before her exams. I would take another class with her in a heartbeat. She is easy on the eyes as well...

She's um, snotty. Plain and simple. She gives good review sheets before the 2 exams yet she takes pleasure in correcting or pointing out an individual to make them feel incompedent. The class itself is fairly easy if you do the work and don't take any kind of personal offense to her pretentiousness. I think she needs a hug.

There are only 2 tests and 2 presentations so its a lil hard to fix your grade if needed. But she is really nice,only takes attendance during the speeches. If she calls and you arent there and no one volunteers to save you she does give you a 0 but just show up and do it and then you dont have to come until the next test if you want.

I thought she was a great professor. Midterm, final, and two speeches. Not a lot of room to improve your grade if you're doing poorly, but you'd have to be an idiot to fail her class. She was an interesting lecturer, and her notes were really organized and easy to understand. Her voice is peircing so don't take a morning class.

RUTHELESS... 2 speeches 2 midterms, doesnt care if you failed.. don't take her for co11 trust me.

easy class! 2 speeches 2 tests every thing on the tests she goes over in class 1 speech you get to do in a group that you pick out yourself.

Knows her stuff!! She looks like Uma Thurman too. She can be really clear when it comes to the material. Some of the material in class is boring but its basic common sense. She compares everything to BAKING A CAKE, which gets very annoying. She can be really funny sometimes too.

Great professor, a lot of notes that will help you for final and midterm. 4 grades 25% each. DONT BUY BOOK!! 2 speechs not that bad. Easy grader. Be on good side, dont show up half way into class time. Study for exams to pass. Need effort to pass. Make friends, class will pass quicker and need a group for 1 speech. Take her she's great.

Fair teacher ... pretty helpful if u have questions ... no attendence policy at all but dont show up midway through class.. speeches r easy and the final is sooooo easy .. overall good teacher i would deff take her again

She is so nice! I took her winter session and didn't open the book once and got an A. She writes down notes that are great and are good for the tests. You just have to study a little.

2 speeches and two tests (midterm and final) each 25% of her grade. She's nice and the class is overall pretty easy. She grades speeches pretty strictly though so keep to her rubric and practice! No attendance but you must be there for tests or speeches or you'll get a 0. Study easy notes from lectures and no text is needed. Take her. She's good!

first, dont buy the textbook. i never opened it yet it still cant be returned to the bookstore. waste of $70. second, she is extremely easy you dont have to do much to pass the test. but she kind of sucks as a person. boring but required.

great teacher! i'm taking her now, SO NICE! she speaks loud enough so the whole room can hear her, and she rights down everything we need to know neatly on the board. she doesn't take attendance and is very understanding. if you need help with anything shes there to listen, shes easy to get in contact with. i would def recommend her class!

Best teacher i've had at suffolk so far! Very fair. No attendance policy but i recommend you go or atleast copy the notes from someone in class. Her notes are very clear and organized and are EXTREMELY helpful for midterm and final(the only 2 tests) NO HW and 2 short speeches SO EASY read over the notes easy A ohh and don't buy the text book!

yea..so..very easy class. It was honors but it was still very easy. no attendance but listening to lecture is probably how youll retain most of your information since noone wants to read the textbook. she grades the speeches pretty strictly but if you slamdunk the midterm and final (which is very possible with minimal studying) you should get an A

DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK!!! She talks very fast and is kind of boring, but she gives extremely clear notes. 4 grades- 2 tests, 2 speeches (25% each). Pretty easy class.

Not a lot of tests. Says you need the textbook but you really don't, she covers it in class but wants participants. Need to do a group speech. As well as a single speech. Tests are easy, only a mid-term and final. Lectures can be annoying because she drags out the point instead of getting to it, and uses same stupid similes.

She was easy to follow. I had her at 8AM and she was able to keep the class awake. Just show up everyday to take the notes. If you go through her steps in making a speech you will do fine. Easy A for me.

Took her online so not much to say. Once a week assignments that were due i believe every Wednesday by 11:59 pm. They were very simple and I really think this class is an easy high grade. Would 100% recommend this class to anyone that does not like to speak in front of others, because since it is online class there will be none of that obviously.

Easy A and straight forward tests + assignments. Take notes and study and it'll be an easy A

Professor Gaete was always very awake and went right into lecture. She assigns reading that I read a couple of chapters and still pulled out an A in the class. If you pay attention, do a brief studying before tests, and put effort into your group projects you'll do fine. She was very nice, I have 0 complaints. Would take again for sure!

Overall good professor. Makes sure everyone in class understands the material, prefers reading the chapters ahead of class so during lecture you can participate but never tests you on anything not discussed in class. Cares about you doing well in the class as she always comes in with a smile and ready to teach.

I took her COM102 Online class. It was very stress free compared to the work load i had with my other classes. She gave 2 weeks for each disscussion and there was a few essays during the semester as well as a final research paper. Take her class.

No attendance but if you're chosen to give a speech and you're not there, you get an automatic 0. Don't need the textbook, she'll say that you do need it but you don't. Just copy her notes on the board give good speeches. She is a little unclear at times, distant from students, and obviously working only for a paycheck but it's an easy A.

Prof. Gaete is a great professor. I took COM101 with her and hand a pretty good experience. The only thing that bothered me was how tough her grading was you're graded on two presentations, the midterm and the final and she graded them very strictly. also don't be late on presentation days because she will call your name and you'll receive a zero.

Easy class online. Log in once every two and respond to discussion. A few homework assignments. No test. You don't even need the book. She posts information in the content section that relate to the discussion.

I took her online communications class and it was very stress free, I loved it! She gives two weeks to complete each discussion. I had to do two papers and one final research project at the end of the semester. I would definitely recommend taking her class if you have a lot of work to get done for other classes.

Professor Gaete is a great professor. She always responded to my emails quickly and she is super kind, I highly recommend her. A few short essays which she graded very fairly and provided great feedback on. It was overall a breeze of a class and I would 100% take her again if i had the choice.

Took this as asynchronous online. Only gave 1-2 assignments per 2 weeks. The material was interesting and workload is light and easy. Good course to take if you are signing up for other more difficult classes.

One biweekly assignment and a couple short papers, very easy class. A great class to take if you want to focus on harder ones.

Prof. Gaete is a pretty good teacher. She writes out all her notes that you need on the board. Usually, class ends 10-15 minutes early. The textbook is optional, but she expects you to know what word she is describing in class. Also, she does NOT take attendance at all, but you must be present when your name is called for the speech or you get a 0.

Very easy class, instructions always clear, and very long due dates so you have plenty of time to get everything done. Definitely take her class.

Professor Gaete is just wonderful. Took her last semester for her online Communications 101 class before transferring and she made the whole communication experience super optimistic and motivated us to engage. She is kind and her classes incorporate humor as well as determination to learn!

Professor Gaete is excellent! Her online class is nice and easy. 5 discussions, 2 essays, 1 video, & optional final paper. She provides everything in her lectures and notes, so the textbook is optional. She gives lots of time for assignments and posts reminders. She is organized, clear, and concise. It was a pleasure taking Professor Gaete's class!

Professor Gaete is an excellent speaker and perfect for teaching COMM101. She gives barely any work and will truly teach you how to public speak. You don't need to buy a textbook; just make sure you get all her notes. The only thing I didn't like is that you can't see what your grade is online.

Makes class easy and explains topics extremely well. Does kind of stretch out topics to much, and you can probably condense semester into 3 pages(i did this to study). Easy class overall, but the lectures are somewhat engaging.

The class is easy, and Professor Gaete explains topics very clearly. She tends to stretch out the material more than necessary, making her lectures pretty boring. However, I strongly recommend going to class and taking notes because it will show up on the exams. Buying the textbook isn't necessary, unless you plan on not going to class.

This class was very easy online. She gives you enough time to do your assignment. One discussion post every week. One paper and a PowerPoint slide. That's all very easy.
