She is a nice lady and makes you work but gets you prepared for College algebra. Overall not to bad I've had worse
She is hard to understand, and not friendly, speaks down to you it seems. I asked a question in class one day about a porblem she was working and she preceeded to tell me she didn't have time to answer that i needed to go to the math lab. She doesn't seem to care if you pass or fail. DONT TAKE HER!
Don't take this woman. She doesn't care about you as a person/student. I tried to get extra help, what a JOKE. It's her way or no way even if you get the RIGHT answer! You will save yourself alot of headache if you DON'T take this horrible teacher!
SHES A GOOD TEACHER BUT YOU HAVE TO KNOW YOUR PREVIOUS MATH STUFF, SHE DOES NOT TEACH YOU STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW. SHE OUTLINES EVERYTHING PRETTY WELL AND HER TEST REVIEWS ARE AWESOME.
I had no problems with her teaching, but I happened to be in teh first class that she graded practice questions for. I have never done so much homework before in one single class in my life. She is a tough teacher, but if you know your stuff she will reward you.
She is by far the BEST math teacher i have ever had. Be prepared top do alot of wqork..the test reviews rock. Im an english major and she made me enjoy math.sheis not for the slacker. take her if u want to learn!
A great teacher. I am horrible at math and if you know her pre-test you will do great. She explains things very good and I learned math so well by her explanations.
If you actually do your work and study this class is an easy A. She's kinda bit of a hottie too.
Online trig course. She didn't require a lot of discussion, which I liked. She uses Thinkwell, which is an excellent program. There was a lot of homework, but it was necessary for the class topic.

DON"T TAKE HER CLASS. Same happen to me when asking for help she said she did not know he answer and old me to give her time to think about it, she never got back with me.
I took her for trig over the summer. I got a B. Alot of hard work. Do the lectures and review the notes over and over. Do thinkwell every lesson. The practice tests do them over and over till youy get a great grade.
this is an excellent teacher. lots of hw, but it's well worth it and the hw is exactly like the tests. the test are very simple, short and to the point, nothing crazy. she is always willing to help whenever you need it. if you put time and attention into this class you will get an A. VERY EASY!!!!!!!!!
I took her online Trig class. It was time-consuming, but I expected it to be. I definitely suggest taking her class if you are dedicated. I thought she was a great professor, no questions went unanswered. I achieved the success that I expected, thanks to hard work and Professor Broussard.
Okay listen up!!! Here is the 411. Study the study guide 70-80% of the test come off that.. So Study it every question. Yes it long but it worth it..There is a lot of homework. If you pace yourself and do 3-5 lessons the week before the test your do great..Great class your learn alot. But, You have to give it your all to get a high grade.
The study guides are the homework quizzes
This class is hard, if you had problems with Trigonometry before or graphing don;t take the class online, but she is great!! Excellent professor second time taking her and I don;t regret it, you learn a lot....
Not willing to make exception for traveling and emergencies
awesome teacher online, lots of help, thinkwell kicks butt. pretty easy if you like math. lots of time to take tests, somestuff on test isn't covered by lectures.
This was an online course and she had us ask our questions online to be answered by other students. She did one chat for an office visit but never did another. She was not helpful until I asked to withdraw and then she was helpful.
VERY DIFFICULT CLASS. I HAD A TUTOR, (WHO ALSO TEACHES COLLEGE LEVEL MATH) AND HE AGREED THAT THIS WAS THE WORST CLASS PRESENTATION HE HAD EVER SEEN! THINKWELL (THE TEXTBOOK) HAS EASY EXAMPLES BUT THE ACTUAL HW PROBLEMS ARE MUCH MORE COMPLICATED. NO HELP FROM HER AT ALL. THIS CLASS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!
Took the Thinkwell online course. Lessons are great but the tests and homework spring questions from chapters not yet covered. I think since tests are open notes they add a bit of the unknown in there to make sure you grasp the concepts. In all i found class easy and thinkwell is the best. The real teacher is Ed Burger.
This was a hard class there was alot of info and very fast paced. Alot of stuff wasn't covered clearly, but you had the chance to make up grades at the end. Study Study Study and make alot of free time to do HW! Good Luck in the class.
Professor Broussard was wonderful. This is an online course that she teaches and she was so wonderful and kept up with everything. I had some problems in the beginning with my registration and I have never had a professor that was this kind. I highly recommend her! =)
Very helpful, class is organized and well run. She will push back deadlines if enough people ask for them and is always willing to trade e-mails. The online format works great and assignments are easy and painless.
She was a decent professor. Some things that she said I could not understand. I would just recommend reading the book while you are learning because everything she does comes directly from there. She's a decent teacher, but I wouldn't recommend her to everyone.
She is the bestess. The class was a little boring because we spent 1 1/2 hr working on an imac with online exercises, and 30 minutes of her talking. But I still like her class.
Avoid this teacher as much as possible. She doesnt know the material well enough herself to be teaching it and she is very vague with all of her explanations. I went into that class fully trying to do well and she was not any help to me regardless of how many questions I asked. Look elsewhere if your not great at math.
I was really looking forward to her in class lecture for clarity but she lacked awareness to help the class understand fully. She does ask for "questions or concerns" but harldy leaves time for us to form one before moving on. I wouldn't recommend her to someone who struggles with math.
Pretty good teacher. I wouldn't recommend her for everyone. If you work hard, you'll be able to pull off an A.
This teacher is awful.. She acts like all math is common knowledge and doesn't work to get you to understand her. Would not recommend taking her, and you don't get make up tests without a note. Worst math teacher I've ever had.
This is the worst teacher i have ever had in my life. Not helpful at all she thinks that everyone already knows math and favors the smarter students. if you are not good at math dont take her because she wont care. very hard class!
If ur good at following directions?have a strong background in Math(don't mean just strong memorizing)I mean comprehending Math is easy 4 you, than this class will b a breeze.Shes helpful, prompt with emails?her syllabus is well planned. The book she uses is great?tutorials on MML suck. You need 2 set plenty of time 4 HW its no JOKE!3-7/credit hr min!!
If you are strong in Math and know what you are doing, it is for you. For someone who struggles and does not understand, DO NOT take. She asks for "questions" but does not give enough time to discuss before she moves on to the next section! She also teaches waaay to fast.
I took Professor Broussard for College Algebra in my first semester. She wasn't too easy our too hard. She will make sure you know your stuff. If you want to know College Algebra and not just have an easy A, take her. Most of the students in my class did not like her, but I thought she was a pretty average teacher.
If you are interested in learning math then you will love her. The entire class is her working out problems on the projecter showing exactly how to do each problem in depth. When she assigns worksheets she will do example problems with the class. HW is required, but well prepares you for the tests. Math is learned better with practice anyway.
Expect to spend up to 3 hrs on HW every day. NOT EASY for anyone who has not had a HS Trig class or already taken MAC114. She teaches fast! Lets you use a calculator. Textbook is hardly ever used by students. Get the online text instead.
She is absolutely amazing. She moves very quickly through the lessons but explains everything thoroughly. If you don't understand something, she'll explain it a different way until you undestand it. I'm a Junior in high school taking this class and I find it easy. Drink a coffee or two before class, but I definitely recommend her.
Lots of work, Plan on 10 plus hours a week on assignments. Test count for over 70% of your grade.
Do not take. She teaches really fast, so classes are mandatory if you want to keep up. Grades are based on written hw, online hw, but mainly on exams(75%)(not easy). I would not recommend.
Teaches extremely fast and has a completely different syllabus than other math teachers. Requires you to complete HW from in class and also HW online along with the Exams, which of course you are not allowed to use any notes on. Too much work online for her to expect students to complete in-class HW. Would NOT recommend!
Great Prof.! She is very organized, in constant communication, and has helpful handwritten examples. After you read the textbook, use MyMathLab homework to retake the questions until you've mastered it. She uploads 1st page of exam so you know what's ahead. Best teaching style I've experienced, makes me wish I could take ALL my courses online!
This is an advanced mathematics course, not an "Easy A", it irks me to think people want things handed to them. You must put in the time to get an A. I took the course online, however, Professor Broussard made herself available, at campus, to assist anyone having issues. Quick to respond to emails, very understanding, would recommend.
The professor herself is awesome and showed interest in helping students learn, but the method off teaching through excessive homework is not the approach I'd take.If you're taking other courses and/or working at the same time, be careful. If you must take it, take this advice: focus on the homework and examples THEN read the text in depth.
Definitely fast paced but the material was presented very clearly. She is very helpful and definitely hot
Professor Broussard is a good teacher but sometimes it seems like she rushes through topics that the class has trouble understanding. Mymathlab was needed for the class and had a lot of homework assignments. If you have trouble with math, you may want to look elsewhere. Overall, I enjoyed her class a lot.
She is a very fast teacher and does not really help the students out. The homework is a lot and the tests are a huge part of your grade. If you do not understand math well, do not take her!
This professor gave extra time to complete assignments but did not really help when you were struggling. I am going to retake it next semester with a different professor who has a better method of teaching. She seems nice but don't know how to teach properly on different levels.
I would not recommend this professor unless you like a very fast pace professor even if you don't understand, overloads the students with lots of assignments , the test are worth a huge part of you grade in order to past the class. If you are not prepared to fail, you can place in over 100 hours of dedication and fail.
Her teaching speed is fast paced no doubt. So if you are not really up to par with the preceding class, you might not want to take. But if you enjoy math and are not afraid of a challenge this professor is ok in my book. Took 3 math classes with her and got an A in all of them.
Professor Broussard's teachings are excellent. I didn't need the book. She will expect you to prepare before class , so that any student can learn efficiently and get any answers from any questions. She is definitely there for you. Always happy to help.
She will take her time if you don't understand. You just have to speak up.
I had Mrs. Broussard for Explorations in math (MGF1107) for fall 2015 at South campus, and she was exactly what I needed. She taught well, encouraged students and was very helpful. My personal advice is to invest time in the online homework and show up to class as often as possible. She allowed us a few absences, and dropped 4-5 quizzes.
Very helpful and good with people who may not be strong with math. Moves kind of quickly so make sure to pay attention and always show up to class. Gives plenty of quizzes. Will always pause to explain things you may have not understood. Would take again
If you are insistent about asking questions, you will get answers. However, if you get lost in class and don't ask about it, you'll be lost forever. Pee before class because you need to be there through the full time of lecturing if you have any hopes of a good grade.
She's is a great teacher. Her view on math is unique and fun.
Great professor! Always explains something if you ask and gets everyone to participate in class. She gives extra credit opportunities and for my class this fall semester of 2015 she reopened all our online quizzes so we could redo them if we got a bad grade because those quizzes are worth 15% of your grade. So thats awesome!!
The professor was helpful in giving the material. I liked how she gave notes on each chapter. Do the homework and study and you will get a good grade. She answers the questions you have and helps you understand what she is teaching. She gives practice tests, which is very helpful.
she is very helpful, if you do not understand she would explain it to you until you get it
It's hard to fail her class unless you don't show up , sometimes she gives quizzes in the beginning of class and you have limited time. She always gives out opportunity to get extra credit and improve your grade. There's a total of 15 quizzes and your final exam test replaces the worst quiz grade. Broussard is very helpful!!!!!!
Definitely an easy A. You don't have to be good at math to get a good grade in this class. She's a great teacher and mymathlab clarifies the steps you take to understand the process better. All homework is online and is a grade booster because of how easy it is. If you want an A, take her.
Besides the tough grading, overall, she is a wonderful professor. Whenever I am in class, I am always attentive but the work is confusing tome most times. Sometimes the pop quiz, throws me off guard. Wish there were extra credit opportunities in the class as well as options to take quiz online too.
She assigns quizzes every other class based off of the material from the previous class. Some of the quizzes are take home. She makes the work pretty clear for the most part and provides you with a practice test that's similar to the actual test. Everybody participates in class and she'll help you if you don't understand as long as you ask.
She's very enthusiastic and wants everyone to do their best. If you show up to class you're going to find that the class is very easy. She does give quizzes but she takes the top 10 so the more quizzes you have the better your chances. She has lectures but they really help. I would recommend her to anyone, she has a lot of energy, and gives EC!!
Although this was an online class, professor Broussard offered to meet with the class to review for our first test which was helpful. She sends emails weekly to remind you of due dates and prepare you for the week. The tests were only 20 questions each.
Ms. B was a great instructor, she knew how every student learned and made the material as clear as possible. Would take again.
Professor Broussard was an excellent teacher. She is thorough with the notes and makes sure you understand it while in class. The material starts out easy and gets a lot harder, requiring more studying and practice. There are quizzes almost every class, and the tests are somewhat difficult.
Math just is not my subject. She is a good teacher though.
SHE IS A GOOD PROFESSOR IF I COULD TAKE HER CLASS AGAIN OR TAKE HER CLASS FOR COLLEGE ALGEBRA I WOULD. HER CLASS IS AWESOME
Professor B, was definitely the best math professor I've had, very laid back. Made sure the whole class was involved in learning by calling your name to continue the problem. Don't be late otherwise you will miss Pop Quiz points.
Shes usually pretty clear in all her lessons. The class is pretty easy too. Shes really nice and helpful and gives yous chances for extra credit on tests. shes also a pretty lenient grader.
Be prepared to teach yourself most of the work. She's a strong teacher but she lectures the whole class and it's very hard to understand when she doesn't clarify for you.
this professor is amazing shes always there when you need help i would definitely recommend her
There are 3 exam ( final included), she gives you a practice test that you can study off (it is similar to the test), so "do take advantage" of them! The homework starts off as a load full, but don't worry it lessens in the semester. There is also about 9 quizzes that you can retake as many times as you like until the due date. Best wishes!
She is very helpful and is very clear with her lectures, she is always there for you. 4 exams, but pretty easy because she gives you study guide, online homework, and online quizzes on mymathlab, as well as in class quizzes everyday, but she only takes your best 8, and drops your lowest homework! Very interesting class!
She was clear in what was needed for the class and the work that needed to be done. Understand that you are responsible for yourself and you won't get shortcuts.
Shes nice, super energetic and expects the work done but gives you time.
Great Professor! As long as you go to class you will be fine. She does give a quiz the beginning of most class days to quiz you on the previous lecture. You have a lot of homework assignments but overall the class is easy and she is very helpful.
Im really bad at math, and professor Broussard made it clear and easier for me to learn, highly suggest her as a teacher.
very clear when teaching subject helpful
Professor Broussard was a very easy teacher, one of the easiest teachers I've had in a while. I took her while in B term so I had to be there everyday, because if you miss a day you'll like 5 sections in a chapter.
Overall the class is passable and has a lot to offer new students, if you show up write the notes and just practice the work you pass the test and class with a B or Higher. don't slack off or think you know something without being there because it can mess you up
I enjoyed the class, it was easy. If you use MYMATHLAB, and pay attention during lectures, it's a breeze to pass.
She is a great and wonderful teacher who helps. One of the best math teachers i have had.
Easy lessons. You usually get to leave early. Shes nice and always gives you credit for trying.
The professor is very helpful and clear in her lectures. She makes sure that she is there to lend the help that is needed, especially when you don't understand something. Overall she is a great teacher of benefit to her students. I loved her class :)
Good class to take, very understanding.
She's a pretty nice teacher overall, but if you don't like getting called on because you have anxiety like myself, this professor is not for you. However, on the bright side, she lets you out early as soon as she's done teaching.
She helped me understand math very clearly. Almost made it my favorite subject. Homework is online and can be kinda lengthy but it was very worth it in the long run. She works with you and it will not be hard to get an A or very high B.
Class was not easy but if you are determined you will pass.
Shes a great lady and teacher! I took her for MAT1033 and it was a B12 class that would be the only complaint. I would take her during a 16 week class because if not every class period you are going to be learning 4 new concepts a day and it can be overwhelming. She gives EC and if you ask very helpful and passionate about teaching Math.
Wonderful lectures! Really enjoyed this class! :)
Great teacher! Provides you with numerous examples in class and explains until you understand. Enjoyed this class very much!
I really enjoyed her class! I'm not a fan of math, AT ALL, and this was the first time I felt as though I understood what was being taught and didn't need extra tutoring help on the side. As long as you do the homework and attend class, you should be completely fine.
good class
Great Class, will be taking other classes taught by her.
She goes really fast when she lectures, but is there to answers any questions. Homework every night, and only 5 tests. She gives you the information you need, as long as you study.
Overall good professor but teaches pretty fast paced. You can hear her clearly from anywhere you sit in the classroom. Can be strict with phones if you are constantly using it.
She's a good teacher, explains the subject well, but goes really fast during lectures. Its important to go to class, miss one class.. you miss A LOT. She gives extra credit for each test. Easy class if you do the work and keep up.
Class isn't hard if you do all the homework and pay attention. If you show up and ask for help when you need it it's an easy class.
I personally did not learn much because I'm beyond garbage at math but she always tried to help.
Awesome teacher! Really loves math, and makes it very clear! I will deff be taking her again! There's always homework but it helps you a lot because you're practicing.
She helped me with every detail even if i already had an idea on what the lesson/chapter was already about.
Mrs. Broussard is very detail oriented and I wasn't used to that and at first I feel like we kind of butted heads but since then I have realized she is a great person and teacher and my good performance in this class had to do with her doing a good job teaching. One thing is for sure, you can't skip days in this class and get an A!
Class can take a significant amount of time, but just show up and do the work and you will be fine.
The professor is great. She really knows her stuff. She also encourages you to get help when needed. In my opinion do not be shy to speak up, because when you do, there is a different level of understanding.
I hate math and she made it pretty easy
She's a pretty good teacher.
Overall good experience, made math semi-fun so you gotta respect that.
She's a great teacher!!! The course was tough for me because i'm not great with math but she helped me out so much. She takes the time to make sure you understand the material. Her quizzes and tests are not tough and she gives you chances to get extra credit on the tests to help boost your score. I would definitely recommend this professor.
A great teacher, one of the best I've had for math. She knows her stuff, and knows how to teach it too!
This is the first teacher that i've ever had that actually seemed like she was in love with what she was teaching. It was quite unbelievable to see how much she enjoyed teaching her course.
She is an amazing professor who gives short tests all the time, but she only puts the top 10 best scores in the gradebook.
Professor Broussard is there to teach you in class however sh does very much recommend that you take advantage of the tutors in the math center. Homework is the easy part. it is another way to practice the notes she will have you take down in class. Test are the tough part. STUDY! STUDY! STUDY!
Class was very clear and helpful for homework and tests. Mandatory to pass.
I definitely recommend to take her for Intermediate Algebra.
She is a good teacher who knows the knowledge to pass on for the next level. I am a disabled veteran with extreme memory and brain loss. my information is on file with the college. I had a hard time with on the spot quizzes. I did not receive enough allotted time to show I actually know the material. I did talk with a resource person and no help.
Online portion is easy and can be used to get extra credit on tests.
Great and very fair grader.
Take it I enjoyed the class!!!
Professor Broussard is awesome. She is very fair grader and gives many opportunities for extra credit. She is great at teaching everything you need to know in a way you will understand. Encourages you to ask questions and comprehend the material. I would absolutely take more classes she teaches!
Clear and concise.
stay on top of all the assignments and homework you will pass the class
I took Prof. Broussard for MAT1033 as a hybrid class. I recommend taking this course as a hybrid class. The MyMathLab program is very interactive and allows you to submit assignments past their due date at a 15% penalty. Show up to class, put in some effort and you'll pass with at least a C. She offers a lot of extra credit, so take advantage of it
Great teacher!! work is really easy! very entertaining ! never a boring class
Hard material if you're not a math whiz but this professor is very thorough and she knows her stuff.
I absolutely hate math and struggle with it all the time. Professor Broussard made things easy and super clear. She does give out a lot of homework but it really does help you prep for the quizzes and the tests. I would definitely take this class again and recommend every struggling math person out there like me to take one of her classes.
nice professor, honest when she grades.
Good Professor, gives you extra credit for every test.
She will test you
She is an enthusiastic teacher - but she teaches like everyone is on the same level as her. That means some may need a tutor. However if you take notes and do all the homework you will do well. Don't let the tests and quizzes throw you. She drops five out of 15 quizzes and 1 out of the five tests. Plus there is ample opportunity for extra credit.
nice professor
There are quizzes almost every class but she drops five of fifteen. She also drops one of the tests. Its hard and I've had to use all of the opportunities to get extra credit and use the library tutors. She is tough and expects you to do the work but she is fair.
If you absolutely had to take a math class online, Professor Broussard for College Trig is definitely the professor you want. I'd advise anyone to stay away from online math classes, but Professor Broussard is very helpful and genuinely wants her online students to do well. It's no easy A, but definitely obtainable. Responds to emails quickly.
If you stay on schedule you can pass. If you come every time and take good notes and study you can pass.
Teacher is hardly available when you need her. This was by far the hardest class I've ever taken.
Strongly recommend her. I will take her all the way up to Trig. She emails back veyr quickly which is important to me, and she is very helpful when youre confused on anything. Also doesn't demean you in the learning process which is also important to me.
She is a good teacher, explains things in depth. Gives lots of extra credit opportunities.
She's fair
I would defiantly recommend this professor to another student!
i felt like i didnt know anything and i was very lost the whole course
She makes students feel comfortable with asking questions and tells us she is here to help and teach, that there are no bad questions. I don't feel like asking questions is a burden to her, she encourages it. She makes learning fun and makes examples out of real life situations, so we can have an idea of where we'd see what we learn in real life.
Professor Broussard is really great. I absolutely suck at math but I was actually able to learn a lot. She breaks everything down so that everyone can understand and she goes at a great pace. There are short quizzes about every class based off of the previous lecture. There's plenty of extra credit opportunities and the usual work load.
She is a great teacher.
she does give extra credit. if you do your work and submit on time and come to class you should without a doubt pass
Caring and respectful professor who offers LOTS of extra credit opportunities, but her method of teaching can throw you off. Wouldn't mind taking her again
Explains math very simple to understand. Awesome teacher, just have to do your work and study. Do your part and the grade comes with the work.
Understanding and helpful teacher
Very clear as to what is expected from us. Grades clearly so that we know what we did right and wrong. Also very enthusiastic.
She's a fair grader
Love Prof. Broussard! When grading, she gives partial credit. She gives you ways to receive EXTRA CREDIT on every test (sometimes quizzes as well). Be prepared to take a quiz almost every class BUT, she drops your lowest 8 quizzes. I'm horrible at algebra & I passed with an A! Definitely recommend!
Homework after each class session. Course material is difficult. It would be a good idea to use the tutors here at FSCJ for assistance.
she has a lot of extra credit opportunities.
She is a really kind professor and she made my first year taking math at FSCJ stress-free. Although there is a bunch of online homework, it does help you do well on tests. Even better, she gives out a bunch of extra credit opportunities. I would take her again. :)
She was an overall excellent proffsor and actually helped me pass my math class. I struggled with math for years until I took her class. She also provided a ton of extra credit, so if you wanted to fail her class you would have to try pretty hard. Tests every couple of weeks and quizzes every class, but if you did the homework you'd pass the quiz.
If you don't slack and actually try to do your homework and listen in class, then you should get an easy A
Prof. Broussard made it very easy to learn the subject and was very nice and respectful
She is great! She likes to interact with her students. She asks them questions and makes sure her students are getting the correct information.
shes a very nice teacher. if your high school teacher was slow at teaching a section then be ready for her class she goes a little fast but its not to bad
One of the best prof. i have ever had she is great and a fair grader !!!
The Professor helped us to achieve for success.
This class is by far the most hardest class I've taken, she doesn't explain the materials clearly and when you ask how to do a certain problem she tells you to go watch the videos . She does give extra credit though!
Professor was hard. I BARELY PASSED! Lots of homework and outside work. Five exams but if you study hard you can pass. She gives extra credit and she drops one of your lowest exams and 5 of your lowest quizzes.
Broussard expects the usual. If you are proficient in your studies and keep on top of your work - you'll get an A. I thought that there was a lot of homework, but it's definitely doable. She's very clear on what you will be tested on and gives study guides that are very similar to the actual exam. Lectures are enough to understand the material.
Everything was really straightforward. Only a handful of tests which are about 20 questions each and most were relatively easy. Test practice was always provided.
Good Teacher. There were 4 test. Final replaces lowest test grade. Practice test are always given for studies. Would take teacher again. Highly Recommended.
Very good professor overall. Very willing to help you if there's something you don't understand. Very important to do your homework, even though there's usually lots of it.
she is great professor, I barley passed her class. Its important that you do all the homework's even though there are a lot. most importantly the study guides that she provides will prepare you for all exams
She is a great professor. Explains things well in class, so you don't go home confused about what you learned. Be prepared for a lot of take home homework.
Honestly, I didn't feel as if I was given enough attention during the class. I had a multiple of questions and concerns, and she showed very little care. I emailed her in regards to a concern I had about my grade and she offered no advice for me besides study harder (which I was already doing).
She was polite and helpful. Be sure to complete all homework to ensure your understanding. She was accessible for questions. You have to work to get your grade in this class. Good instructor! First and last tests are the easiest. Study hard! She is fair.
She moves VERY FAST through her lectures, but is willing to better explain what you don't understand. The class is very difficult, so if you miss class you'll be lost. Overall, she is a caring professor and will help make sure you pass.
Professor Broussard is very nice and engaging. You can tell she is incredibly educated in her subject. However, there is lots of homework. Some nights, there would be up to 60 questions. She does provide extra credits, usually an extra 5%. Tests look exactly like the practice she passes out in class, not like the MyMathLab practices.
I was never good at math but this prof makes it so easy to understand! 10/10 recommend. Homework everyday, but its completely relevant and necessary to understanding the material. 5 tests w/ 20 questions; very easy. Extra credit offered for every test. She calls on students every class, so if you have social anxiety you might want to reconsider.
Really good class, lots of online work but not too difficult
Professor Broussard is one of the best math teachers to take. She works with you if you ever need help and takes times to explain everything.
The class is easy if you do all the work and study for the tests. The textbook is online and costs about $100.
Loved this professor. I have always been bad at math, but she made it easier to understand and was thoroughly involved.
Really helpful professor! Lots of online homework though
The professor made math really interesting. She found a new and creative way to teach math. Most of the materials we covered will definitely help me in the real world. Even though she gave a lot of homework, she still gave us a chance to go back and fix any problems we might have.
Never enjoyed math, but prof. B. was a great teacher!
Loved this class. This professor was great. She made the material very easy to understand. Any other math classes I need for my major, if she teaches them, I will be taking her. Amazing choice if you pick her.
Does some in class quizzes. Very clear with what she is teaching and if someone does not understand she is very willing to explain and go over it as much as she can until that student understand. Very easy to work with outside of class if needed.
She's awesome. One of the best math teachers I've had. If you do have questions she will continue to help even if it means after class until you understand what she's teaching
Awesome teaching style. Really easy to comprehend. Truly cares about her students success.
Attendance may not be mandatory, but don't expect this class to be easy. Prof. Broussard is the best Math instructor you could have from MAT0028 through Pre-Calc Algebra and Trigonometry. She gives the most comprehensive lectures, and will prepare you for the rigors of Collegiate Level Mathematics (which is no joke).
Professor was well respected and has a passion for the world of mathematics, which is great to take a math class from. She gives out outlines of notes every class, so that you can follow along and fill in the blanks and write additional notes. The notes are accurate and easy to use for homework and studying. Homework assignments every night.
I took Trig from Ms Broussard as an online course. At the start of the session she was very accessible and immediately responsive. Midway through the session things changed. For more than two weeks now I have been trying to reach her without success. I will not take another class from this instructor.
Homework, homework, homework. There is sooooo much homework in this class. Other than that she does a great job making sure that everyone understands the lessons. And as an added bonus if you already understand, she doesn't mandate your attendance. So, go take the quizzes and leave the class if you like.
While Professor Broussard is very knowledgable about math, she moves very quickly and I feel she forgets that her students are not on the same level as her. She talks quickly and doesn't give you much time to take notes. She also takes attendance by calling your name then immediately asking you to solve a math problem on the board. Not recommended
Take her course if you are a serious student wanting to learn math. She will give lots of homework, which are essential to learning the material. In addition, Professor Broussard is a very passionate and enthusiastic about her job. If you do not like math, she will inspire you to learn it. I will definitely take her again!!
Professor Broussard is smart, funny, and great at what she does. There is lots of homework and pop quizzes. She gives you everything you need to pass her class. It is up to you to put in the work. I suck at math but came away with a B! She is super attractive as well. Makes coming to class that much better!
She requires a lot of note taking and at times can go a little fast. But, the notes are needed if you want to pass this class. She will take the time to explain if you have any questions. Math is not my strong subject and I was 0.73 away from passing, she extended assignments to redo for a better grade in order to pass the class
Math is not a strength of mine, as to many others. Professor Broussard is really good at explaining any questions you may have. There is tons of homework. There is at least one or two assignments per day, but that means almost nothing because if you can't pass the tests, you won't pass the class, even getting an A on every homework assignment.
Mrs. Broussard was very specific in her direction. She showed the concepts clearly and broke them down in a way we all could understand. She also showed clear examples of how to use these concepts in a way that helped the student apply the concepts
His explanations are very clear, you can follow the whole lesson without any difficulty. He writes all the passages on the blackboard, makes the boys interact a lot during the lesson, to verify that they have understood.
Great teach. Gives a lot of graded homework.
The course can be difficult and seem difficult at times. If you keep up with the work and study for the test then you should not have a really hard time in the class overall.
amazing teaching skills
This professor really wants you to learn and she is passionate about what she teaches, but, you have to attend class and do the homework. Do not expect an easy A. I would definitely take her again. She is quality over easy; you are really going to learn, but it's tough and rigorous. She made math bearable, and sometimes fun, definitely recommend.
This class is easy, if you put in the work. If you don't show up for class or do the homework, you won't be able to pass. There is a good amount of extra credit given on every test. I think she is a great teacher, I have taken her for two different math classes, and I would 100% take her again.
Very good teacher but attendance is encouraged because she teaches something new each class.
She is a great professor, ultimately you do have to work for your grade, but if you didn't then you aren't really learning any of the course material. I walked away from this class knowing way more than when I started. It is a decent amount of homework but it prepares you for the test. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to learn to take her.
I love Professor Broussard so much! She really teaches the material in a way you can understand it. She is also available in the math lab on Mondays which really helped me learn what we covered in class.
Very good professor, difficult class but shes helpful and has tutoring days. Would definitely recommend!
One of the best math teachers I've ever had. As long as you pay attention in class, take notes, and take the time to do the math, her class is fairly easy. She really does want you to learn the material and offers easy to do extra credit along the way.
Professor Broussard makes learning Algebra fun. I didn't think that was possible but she does
Learned a lot. She makes learning lgebra fun
Take this class.
Prof. Broussard is an absolute gem at FSCJ. The class while not the easiest is without a doubt my favorite of the semester. She is incredibly intelligent. If you want to push yourself it is definitely the class for you!
Online work was easy. Was able to go back and correct my mistakes to get better grades. However, the proctored tests were difficult and they accounted for 60% f my grade. I failed this math class due to the written exams. Will not be taking this professor again!!
she does assign a lot of homework
Do NOT take an online course with this professor. You are unable to use virtual proctors for this course. If you are out of state or unable to make it to a campus for whatever reason, you will not be able to take the exams over ProctorU!!!
This professor is very professionally helpful when it comes to the most basic math. She answers questions without hesitation or judgement, she gives a normal amount of homework, and she compensates for work and life outside of school within reason. Definitely would want this professor for all my math courses if I could. :)
Do the Homework. Do it please, its not bad but it will pile up on you if you miss some
great class, caring
Was able to understand the material well!
if not understanding something she will take her time to explain it, moves fast, good teacher tho
Do the homework, it matters. It can be a lot on days before chapter tests. Overall, nice lectures.
If you pay attention and do the homework,I guarantee you will pass the class.
Worth taking her class. Lot of notes to make everything clear. Attendance is important to learn.
She makes the material easy to understand
She is a very nice teacher, the course is very clear and no difficult. Classes are very easy to understand and she is open for questions during and after class.
this teacher is great !
Math has always been my most difficult subject, but Professor Broussard really worked with us and explained the material well. She offered many different extra credit opportunities as well which really helped my grade.
Ms. Broussard clearly explained everything in class, very well. As long as you attend class, do the assigned online homework and attend some extra credit events. There is no reason you shouldn't pass. I enjoyed this math class because she is very fair and very thorough.
Really cool professor.
Ms. Broussard primarily lectures and uses myMathlab to give homework.
She offers many chances for extra credit and answers any questions you may have for her in a comprehensible way.
Really good professor and really nice person.
good teacher a lot of chances to get some extra credit on the test heave course good for people like me who are ok at math but still struggle a decent amount of the time
This was the best professor I've ever had
Professor Broussard has a great personality, she is very nice. However as someone who is not the best at math you should chose someone who is slower and will help you outside of class.
Great Professor and easy to talk to. But if you miss class and do not do the work assigned you will not pass.
I like how it was straight forward
Professor Broussard was helpful with grading. She gave us a lot of extra credit plus she was very clear explaining the materials. You have pay attention in the class because she will call on you to answer the questions on the board even though you didn't raise your hand.
Professor is very caring and is always willing to help students further understand anything they have trouble with. Pretty easy going and fair on grading. Make sure to show up to class even if you do not feel as if you need to.
Best math teacher Ive ever had. I wish she did more regular schedule and morning classes. I had her once a week so lots of info but it was very well explained. 3 tests, final, are pretty much your whole grade plus weekly graphing quizzes. Study and do the homework and youll definitely be fine. Id love to take her again and wish she taught calc.
I took this class with Prof. Broussard twice (first time, I passed but not with a C or higher) and it is by far my favorite class I have ever taken. Tests are worth 70% of your grade. I got an A the second time, and feel more than ready for calculus! Also used MyMathLab which is the best online format for math classes. Wish they all used it.
shes the best <3
Professor Broussard is one of the best math professors I've ever had. She is very lenient and her class is very fun. She knowns how to explain things and only gives a couple of paper tests. I had to take her online due to COVID but I would've loved to meet her.
I really enjoyed taking her class! She was quick to respond to emails and gave good guidance for help. All my work was done online. She had strict deadlines, but gave a reasonable amount of work so the deadlines weren't difficult. I'll definitely use her in the future!
Professor Broussard is by far one of the best professors at FSCJ. Her lectures are fantastic! She provides lecture notes. Be prepared to answer questions. You will have graphing quizzes almost every week, and you will use Pearson's MyMathLab for homework and chapter quizzes. Put in the effort, study, and you can get an A.
Math is a hard subject for me, but I was able to squeak by with a low A thanks to Professor Broussard and the brainfuse tutors. She gave great lectures I still needed the extra tutor help. Do all the MyMathLab work over until you get an A on it so the big tests aren't as bad. She gives bonus pts for participation too and drops your lowest quiz.
She isn't a bad professor if you already understand the problems beforehand, however, she doesn't go over how to do the questions on the homework, and if you don't understand the one single example she goes through extremely fast in class, you might as well drop the whole class. Definitely wouldn't take anything with her again.
I loved the incorporated workbook and textbook. She provided an easy to use and learn curriculum and provides much needed feedback. I needed this to move onto calculus as I've had no exposure to trig and was iffy about learning it with no teacher interactions but it worked out great with her feedback. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Professor Broussard is one of the best math professors I have had. Her requirements are clear, and her lectures are super clear! She will make sure if you don't get something, at the end, you'll fully understand. She gives reference sheets for tests that are super helpful! She really cares about her students! I would take her again in a heartbeat!
Prof Broussard taught me trig when other professors tried and failed. She is caring, fair, and engaging. I wish I had the ability to only take her for every math class I need to take. If you're "not a math person" take her!!! You'll learn and excel if you put in the effort with her. Lots of extra credit opportunities too.
Make sure you do all of your MyLab homework because if you get a bad grade on a test it will help to have a buffer.
A physical class, but homework/quizzes through MyMathLab. Said yes for txtbook but you don't actually buy one, provided through MathLab. Homework is 20%, quizzes(7) are 20%, and tests(4) are 60%. Tons of homework. 3 assignments for 1 week was min. 50-75 questions. Gave out study guides that mimic the tests. Formula sheets given to use for tests.
Professor Broussard is an absolutely amazing professor. She really cares. She can move a little fast at times but as long as you pay attention and take notes you will be fine! The homework is on mathlab, and tests are proctored in person. She makes you work for it, but as long as you put in the work you'll pass! Study guides are amazing.
Prof. Broussard is a very good teacher. She takes time to really explain things and doesn't have a problem with actually stopping to answer questions. She also gives a lot of chances for extra credit, which is always nice.
Trig is a little difficult, so just pay attention to lectures, and the online assignments. The due dates are weird and you might miss them if you don't pay attention to the mymathlab website.. There weren't reminders for quizzes.
Professor Broussard is an amazing professor! Probably one of my fav professors I've ever had! I would recommend her 110%! She really cares about her students and makes sure everyone understands. Be sure to pay attention to lectures and do all the assignments. Tests aren't bad, she gives formula sheets that have all the info you need on them!
Wonderful teacher who sets very clear expectations and keeps class engaged and participating throughout lectures!
I have taken Professor Broussard for both trig and precalc and she is an amazing teacher. She presents the material in a way you can understand it and is pretty in-depth when you ask questions. She posts the lecture notes once class is over which is in my opinion extremely helpful in case I need to go back and review.
Definitely show up to each lecture so you understand the methods she teaches. She uses MyMathLab. After each class you'll have a chapter or 2 of homework. Also 2 quizzes done online before each exam. 4 exams in total, but she offers plenty of ec opportunities. She is an amazing and intelligent teacher and really breaks down what step is next & why.
Very good professor. Very easy to work with and extremely responsive to emails!
Professor Broussard is one of the most intelligent mathematical teachers around all FSCJ. She is very smart, and will be glad to help you with any questions and is very reasonable when personal problems occur. Of course, if you fail to come to class, you will be lost.
Make sure you study
Lots of online time consuming homework
Honestly not a bad choice if your trying to go into an engineering degree where you need to actually learn the math. To build on that she keeps you updated very well through the announcements even if you miss a lot of class like I did. Don't worry though she never took off points for attendance just make sure you keep up with the due dates.
This was my second class with Professor Broussard, and if I could take even more I would!
Great Professor. Lot's of material covered but explains it in an understandable way. She also provides extra credit opportunities.
Prof. B. is amazing. The class consist of HW on MyLab 2x /week, 3 Exams (NO FINAL) and some written HW. You do have to go to class to dot down notes and participation. If you do miss class, she's very understandable and post notes online. BEWARE of written assignments. Do check MyLab before and after class for any assignments that may be due.
Professor Broussard is a great professor. She teaches everything very well and makes sure that everyone understands it. There are 4 tests in total, 1 or 2 homework assignments a week, and some quizzes. So, make sure you study!
Professor Broussard is very smart and entertaining. This is not an easy class and she makes you earn your grade. I recommend not taking notes in class and just soaking in the information, then doing the homework multiple times for practice. Make sure you ask questions until you understand the concept, because she doesn't enjoy answering questions.
The professor shows in-depth understanding of the material. I personally would suggest minor notes during class and instead actually focusing on what she is teaching. And once the class is finished you can either ask to see the notes or wait until canvas. Trying to catch up writing notes and learn new math simultaneously, wasn't going to work.
Tough class, very heavy on homework. The professor has high expectations, but is always happy to provide reasonable assistance. I didn't ask for enough help, but she always seemed willing to give it. This professor also leaves no topic untouched. I doubt she skipped a single thing in the curriculum. Side note: Professor always in a good mood.
Professor Broussard is definitely one of the best math professors I've ever had. She does her best to go the extra mile and help you as much as she can. Homework gives the opportunity to practice as much as you need. She will even leave notes and info on your test to help you understand where you went wrong. I will be taking her for future courses!
Do Not Take Any of her classes if you do not the understand math you will be doing in the class you take. She is not good at answering questions about the material, and if you ask her to elaborate she disregard your question entirely. If you are in this class realize early if you are gonna do good in her class or not, if not drop this class.
Professor B. was very easy to talk to and answered all question within 1-2 days. The course is challenging but if you do the Guided Notebook and homework assignments you will pass her class.
Professor Broussard is very nice and kind. She wants us to do well in our exams and homework assignments. Be sure you participate in class lectures and group work quizzes. Be on time for class. I would recommend everyone to take her class.
Easy going, fast and no nonsense lectures. Approx. 4-7 assignments every week. Allows you to redo the online homework and quizzes and many times as needed. If you're not already decent at math it may be harder for you to follow along without additional support. However, she was always available for help after class! Good class, would recommend.
She has a very condecending manner of answering questions asked in class, the test practice never matches the test content, It's almost completely random. I was told to drop her class when I expressed that I was struggling to understand her lectures. I'm horribly disappoined by professor Broussards behavior towards students with disablities.
I have taken Professor Broussard twice for two reasons: her clear grading style and her knowledge of the subject. However, her classes are not easy, and if you miss a lecture, it's better to just ignore that topic than try to figure it out yourself. She is helpful and non-obtrusive, but I would say that she has a low tolerance for ignorance.
One of the nicest professors I have ever taken. She has each student answer easy pieces of a question since she wants to make sure that you understand without stressing you out. A lot of notes to take and online work but she lets you use formula sheets for tests. Don't be afraid to ask questions, she'll be happy to help. Study and you'll do fine!
Her only class for MAC1105 is a 2 hour long class. It is so easy to get lost and fall behind. All homework is done through mylab and is very time consuming. If you don't easily understand math then this is not the class for you.
Professor Broussard was an excellent trigonometry teacher! She was always willing to answer questions during lectures and responded to emails quickly. The class consisted of weekly homework, reading assignments, chapter quizzes, and 3 on-site proctored exams. The extra credit guided notebooks are very helpful for learning and studying the material!
The professor made the learning process very straightforward for a subject that seemed so challenging. You will be prepared for tests, quizzes, and homework if you do the work and complete the extra credit in the workbook. The lectures will be recorded if you cannot attend live. Her interest in learning is genuine. She wants you to succeed.
One of the best professors I've ever had. Thorough, engaging, really wants you to succeed. The courseload is perfectly balanced, provides ample resources for students to enhance their understanding of the material, offers extra credit, late work with a 15% deduction, and gives partial credit on exams for written work. Fully prepares you for Calc.
She was great, all the work was on My Math Lab which makes it easy to get close to a 100 on everything as long as you keep working to get questions right. Tests are proctored at testing centers but still online. She gives partial credit on those as well depending on your scratch work! Very kind!
Professor Broussard was amazing! Cannot recommend her enough. She truly wants you to learn the criteria & she is quick to respond through email. She gave extra credit but there is a ton of homework, if you do the Guided Notebook. DO ALL OF THE GN! It will help you breeze right through the class and it is also your extra credit! Thanks Professor!
I was never a fan of math, but she can actually teach! As long as you attend the lectures you will understand everything clearly. She does do cold-calls but the questions asked are easy and if you dont understand shell walk you through it. The quizzes are all based on the practices so there are no surprise questions-you'll know what to expect.
Great professor, lots of HW, 4 worksheets, and a few quizzes/exams but they weren't crazy difficult. She let me redo an assignment I scored poorly on which was really considerate. I finished the class with a B and I am not a fan or pro at math. Her math class is easier than other professors I've taken and she is nice, would recommend!
Prof. Broussard is really great! Her lectures are not at all complicated, and she can answer questions if you find some parts of the lecture confusing. All that she's teaching will help you answer the homework and test questions. Will take her again if I'm gonna take precalc algebra. :)
Professor Broussard's class was one of the best math classes I have ever taken. I have never been confident in math and she made the class very enjoyable and understandable. Her lectures are clear and a lot like the tests and homework. She uses Pearson which also has so many options for help if you need that extra guidance. Would highly recommend!
Professor Broussard is a great professor. She will help everyone understand the material and will answer any questions. There are 4 tests with an online quiz before each test. She gives partial credit on tests for the work that is shown.
I took the MAC1114 B12 class and there's a lot of content within those 12 weeks that by the time we were done (8/12/24), I couldn't believe we went through that much! She explains the content well and goes through *a lot* of example problems so students can get a better grasp of the concepts. If you need something explained, don't be afraid to ask!
Professor B. is fantastic - engaging lectures, great resources, and genuine interest in student success. Completing the Guided Notebook and using unstuckstudy AI made the challenging content manageable. Highly recommended for a solid grasp of the material.
When I said I would take this professor again, I was already planning to take her again the next semester lol. Hi, I'm the one who wrote the B12 review in August :) I took the regular A15 this time. There's just as much homework as ever. As for teaching, the material was explained fairly well. Again, if you have any trouble, don't be afraid to ask!
Professor Jodie Broussard is amazing!!!! She wants all of her students to succeed. She will take your time to help you. Defiantly would highly recommend to anyone. Taking her class helped me brought my self back up to speed in the math would after being out of the game for a years.
One of the best Math Professors at FSCJ. If you put in the work, you will do fine.
Most of this class was from using an online textbook and assignments but Professor Broussard was very helpful! Anytime I reached out she was quick to respond and she always gave great motivation and feedback after tests!
I would've taken her trigonometry class if I knew she only has it in-person during the summer. She teaches the content thorough and I genuinely had a good time in the math classes I took with her. She will guide you through the first example and lets you answer the next ones on your own. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any troubles. :)
The Professor is alright, but it's not quite the learning style I prefer. If you're taking the class online, you'll need to be self-motivated. The Professor is available on South Campus every Monday. If you're comfortable with 75% of your grade coming from tests (which might increase), you might want to consider another professor.
I took Professor Broussard for MGF1131 this fall, which was probably my best college math class experience. Attendance isn't mandatory, but showing up for her in-person lectures helped SOOO much! She's thorough with the material and makes it relatively easy to understand. All of the work is done through Pearson, so you'll pass if you keep up!
Professor Broussard is an absolutely amazing professor. I have taken college algebra twice now and got a "D", but I take this professor, and I get an "A"! She even emails to inform you that you are on track and let you know you're doing a great job. That meant A LOT to me. Thank you Professor Broussard!!
This professor conducted her online class in the ideal manner. Clear deadlines with clear instructions on how to complete the coursework and material. Honestly have no complaints whatsover and truly enjoyed the class. Would highly recommend taking classes conducted by Mrs. Broussard to others.
I just passed her 12-week MGF 1131 course. You use Pearson and go through 7 chapters in bite-sized chunks (not overwhelming), 3 easy projects, 3 tests, and multiple quizzes. She's easy to email with and won't hesitate to help you during her office hours. If you are bad at math, this class covers real-world concepts. Most relevant math you'll take.
