Awesome teacher, smart. Won't regret taking her classes

Fun teacher; actually enjoyed history. Teaches a lot on cultures not normally covered(not just western civ), and has an honest and strong passion for teaching. Very helpful, easy to conntact(email, phone, text), by far my favorite teacher in college career. Take her class

I took this class online. I did not do well on the first 2 midterms. They were very nit picky, and I still don't agree with her assessment on 2 of my essay answers. HOWEVER, toward the end of the class she came up with extra credit opportunities and she did several weeks OUT of the textbook, which was great and the outside resources were good.

Great teacher, she explains exactly what she wants you to learn. Gives extra credit, and helpful feed back. Reading is a must but she gives lots of interesting assignments also. If you have to take this course, go with her.

Great Prof! I enjoyed learning world history. She used the book, movies and current events to teach which made it more intesting!!! Highly reccomended!

She is awesome! best teacher i have had so far at ctc. you can tell she really enjoys her job and makes the online class really interesting. shes very helpful as well.

EASY A, EXCELLENT TEACHER, I DID NOT WANT TO TAKE THIS CLASS THAT'S WHY I DID IT OVER SUMMER SESSION, SHE MADE IT FUN AND INTERESTING, VERY TECH SAVVY, GAVE PLENTY OF EXTRA CREDIT, USED MANY OUTSIDE VIDEO REFERENCES LIKE YOUTUBE, GAVE POWERPOINTS, BROKE DOWN EVERY CHAP. IN NOTES, ALSO GAVE STUDY GUIDES! I LOVED HER APPROACH! THIS WAS ONLINE CLASS.

She uses the book way too much making it a boring class. Then 2 assignments involved watching movies(which you can?t get anywhere)instead of the film for 1 assignment you could go to 1 of 3 museums in the city. Some online students live far away and can?t go to them and she?s not willing to change it for them. I had use an online movie review.

You was good. You can tell she is an History fanatic. But loved my on-line class this past summer. Also loved the movies.

She was great, very helpful and online class was easy. I would definitely recommend her. We watched a lot of movies!

She keep class interesting by assigning videos, movies, and outside reading. It wasn't a, sit down and read the text book class. That kept things a lot more captivating. Lots of extra credit was offered, as well as a final exam review. Do the work, use complete sentences when you answer, and put in some effort, and you will get an A.

Very fun and interesting class! I gained a new love and appreciation for American history thanks to Professor Knapton! Effort and willingness to learn will earn you A in this class!

Prof Knapton use of the lectures on you tube is awesome. The class was a great learning experience to bring me back up to date with our history. I would definitely take this professor again. Along with the you tube lectures, she also uses her personal notes which adds more incite. Did not need the book which I purchased for $8 so not a loss.

Great class and teacher! As long as you read all the lectures you do not necessarily need a book (if taking online). She was a great teacher, I learned a lot from this class. Very easy A as long as you read and complete the assignments, and tests on time. There are only 2 tests and a final. Definitely recommend this teacher.

I took this as an online class. As long as you stay on top of the assignments, you'll get an A. Tests are hard, but all of the info comes from the notes. Not the textbook. Make sure to be thorough in answers (especially the ones she tells you to be thorough on).

Ms. Knapton made this online summer class great! Lots of videos, interesting notes. 3 exams total, but not all inclusive. Answer HW questions thoroughly, study for exams and do college level work. You'll be fine. Responds to email, cares for students. EXTRA CREDIT: MLK Center and the like if interested, nice options, different. GREAT EXPERIENCE

She was a great professor. I am not that great at history and this was my first online class and I was very pleased with it. Lots of videos to get you aware of the topics. She also responds to emails quickly and will clear things up for you if need be.

How can anyone fail this class, lol. Really interesting, always, and, yeah, extra credit. LOTS of videos if you like that. You'd have to TRY to do badly. Cares a lot about students doing well and made history really really interesting and everything leads up to whats going on in the world today. Need to be tech savvy online.

Professor Knapton has been the best professor that I've had at CTC so far. This was an online class for me, so I was really glad that she replied to my emails fast. I really appreciated that she didn't give out easy passing grades, but made us work for our grades. She also offered extra credit, which was great!!

Professor Knapton made me love history. This class is not easy at all, but she is fair and expects college level work in the content. Her feedback is great and very objective. I took this class as an online class. Stay ahead of the work and don't fall behind. The exams are not easy, but studying the notes and information will yield good results.

I took her World online. At first her lecture notes seemed like rambled confused messes, once I got the hang of her style, I loved it! She post videos and you answer questions (easy) & discussion boards are all your opinion on an subject (easy), & the test were all the bold content in the lecture notes and assignments (easy)! Lots of extra credit!

Jodies class I have really enjoyed, she gives you discussion topics youd actually enjoy writing about. She is more of a tough grader, but if you read directions and do your work thoroughly you will get the grade you deserve. She has given me grades above the highest grade you can get multiple times. She gives great feedback and replies fast.

If you think this will be an easy A think again. The class is not too bad and the material is not hard she just grades pretty tough but gives good feedback. I found the discussions to be pretty time-consuming. Not your typical one-paragraph discussion post. Overall it is fine just be ready to work if you want an A

Online. Weekly video HW questions, easy w/ time management. Midterm & final from lecture notes & HW. Lots of EC opportunities - not difficult, just takes time/effort. WH can consist of endless, dull material, but Knapton condenses it and makes it interesting. I actually learned more from this simple class than others w/ loads of work. Def recommend

The class is made up of easy but time consuming video homeoworks (lots of EC opprotunites) the test are difficult but all the information is bolded on her notes so her midterm and final are easy to study for. I ended the semester with a 101%

She is a fun teacher. Her lectures are engaging, and if you take half decent notes, you will pass and may have some fun on the way.

I sadly almost didn't take this class because of poor reviews; I'm thrilled I signed up. So happy in fact, that I remembered those reviews and came here to offset them. What to do in the class: Read the text. Do assignments correctly. Follow the clear instructions. What not to do: Barely participate in discussions. Ignore videos posted.

I took her online world history class and it was a solid choice. You mainly do homework assignments that require you to answer questions about videos that can sometimes be time consuming but are not hard. She gives lots of extra credit assignments and will help you out as long as you communicate with her! She cared a lot about me and my grade! :)

I'm usually really bad at history classes so I was weary about taking this and it being an online class but Ms. Knapton was so great! The course load is not very hard and you mostly deal with weekly video assignments that are short and interesting lectures. The discussion boards are not hard either and she gives intriguing topics to talk about.

DO IT. BEST TEACHER AT CHATT! She is friendly, funny, caring and her assignments are extremely easy. She has a great semester-long schedule she follows. She will extend deadlines if something happens. She gives out extra points on your assignments! I love her and would take her over and over again. :)

I don't understand the negative ratings for Jodie. The class is one of, if not the single easiest classes I have taken thus far. She routinely gives extra credit on assignments for simply turning them in. She expects good grammar, gives TONS of E.C., Highlights what will be on the test in bold on her notes, And grades lightly. Final grade was 110%

HW assignments are weighted heavier than test, however most of them are basically watch a video and answer the questions. Pretty simple. Just make sure you actually do all the assignments, she accepts late HW with a 30% penalty, but most prof I've had won't even accept late HW. I really enjoyed her class and would definitely take her again.

Great teacher and straightforward homework! Has some extra credit imbedded and if you put effort in you discussion boards your grade will reflect it. Tells you key ideas to study for in exams throughout assignments.

She's great! Can tell she loves history and cares about her students. there's no essays at all , tests are multiple choice, lots of videos, and tons of extra credit so I don't see how anyone cannot pass her class. seriously. Accepts late work and hardly ever use the online textbook at all.

very liberal with extra credit and gives out extra points for good work. Tests are multiple choice and she gives study guides and notes about them. Overall seems very excited to teach history and wants students to pass.

This semester, I enjoyed taking her class because we had the same workload each week. There are weekly quizzes and discussion boards, which aren't too difficult if you read the assigned 30 pages. However, if your writing skills aren't the best, I wouldn't recommend this class because she grades the discussion boards quite carefully.

I love this professor! She acknowledges students who put the effort into her class. There are weekly discussions that can be time consuming, but if you do a good job she will give A LOT of extra credit. My final grade in the class was 114! Take her if you can; she makes history fun.
