Calc 1 is a challenge, that's what makes it fun. You will pass with A or B if you do your homework. She starts class by answering hw Q's. It makes a huge difference on your grade. But start 4rm the beginning, don't slack. She is very helpful, go to her office for xtra help. Ask Q's & you'll get it!!

Professor DeVoe is a really great professor. She really helps you if you don't understand the subject, and she really cares about her students. If you don't like math I would recommend taking her because she makes learning easy.

An absolute wonder of a teacher. Her jokes, although sometimes dumb, still make me laugh. I was always afraid to take calculus, but with her guidance I have learned more than I ever thought I could. She's one of those professors that only come once in a lifetime.

Yesterday was my first day in Calc II and I've never felt more confident and been more prepared for a math class; all thaks to Mrs. Devoe's Calc I class. Challenging but fair. Do not take her if you have a weak math background and calc 1 is your last math class in college. However, I encourage all Science and Engineer major to take her. Remember Calc 1,2,3 is simply the basics, that need to be strong, for the success in upper division classes.

I seriously think she is a great teacher. I had taken this class semester with a different teacher, and almost failed, because HE didn't teach at all. This semester is a little difficult, however, she goes over homework and actually waits untill the entire class understands. I would definately reccomend her.

Very good teacher. Explains things thouroughly and makes sure you understand. Test aren't bad and is a fair grader but you definately need to keep up in the homework to do well on the tests and quizzes. That goes for all Calc class of course. Very willing to help in and outside of class.

GREAT Professor. De Voe's lessons are very clear and easy to follow. She takes extra time to make sure students understand the material. Taking notes is important and will help with the homework.

She is a good teacher and I was impressed by how well I did in her class when I usually do poorly in math, i walked out with an 87. The only thing is quizzes and homework daily can become quite draining at the end of the semester. I also wish she offered extra credit, there is any. She does drop some test grades though. Overall good

She was the best Calc teacher. I would take any & all classes w/ her again. Stuff is hard, but pay attention and do the assigned work and you're ok. Available in class and online to help. Separate calc and non calc portions of test was bummer, but grades w/ partial credit. Funny and just a cool person.

i've never had a teacher who was more willing to help out students when they're not understanding. I highly recommend this class b/c I am not the best person with math but the way she explains it is so easy! she gives tons of examples and demonstations! take her class and i promise you'll love it!

TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR! professor DeVoe is very sweet and extreamly helpful. the class is a bit boring at times, but thats only cause she repeats everything to make sure that we all understand the subject. i did not purchase a book (i used the one in the math support center) and i am exiting that class with an A, so i would say dont waste your money!

This teacher made my last semester the best, its a hard class many test, quizzes, and possibility to fail. She teaches the subject well but its a complex subject to learn. If you explain your answers you will get credit and she dont take BS very focused teacher.

Jody is a wonderful professor! She works hard to make sure EVERYONE understands the material. As long as you do the homework assignments, come to class, & put in the effort, you can definitely achieve an A.

Attendance isn't mandatory, but it's a math course, so you have to show up if you want to do good. Weekly quizzes and homework. Makes sure you understand what she is teaching. Clarity is perfect. Take her if you aren't good at math!

If you can't pass Differential Equations with this teacher, you should go be a poli-sci major. She's incredibly clear in what she expects you to learn, hw and tests are easy to medium in difficulty. Just go to class and pay attention and do hw, and you'll have an A for sure.

Amazing math professor! Took Calc I and III with her, but didn't do the homework ever, so the tests were extremely difficult, so I didn't pass. Then I took DE with her and did all the homework and got an A. If you go to class, and do the homework, there is no way you won't do well. I would take her for every math class you can, you won't regret it.

She's a really great teacher, took her for statistics and shes very passionate about what she does. She's funny and helpful but strict and will not baby you. She's going to teach you what you need to know and you have to do the homework to do well even though it's not graded. Many 10 point quizzes, you get to drop 2 lowest. Challenging tests. Overall I recommend.

She is a very very good teacher and cares greatly about her students. She wants to help you learn, and will go the EX mile to do so. There is alot of homework, a few projects and online work as well, but if you attend class reg., stay caught up, and pay attention their shouldnt be a problem. Class overall isnt too difficult, but just stay caughtup!

Took her for Online DE and it was a great class. The course had the full lectures from every class available for students to read and review at their own pace. The tests and quizzes were heavily based on the home works and pencast notes. The course was clear and the teacher was very helpful.

I took her for calc 3, and I'm taking her Online DE right now. Quiz based on hw and test based on quizzes and hw. Hw is not graded, but if you do it all (and understand it!) you'll most likely have an A on the tests. In my opinion, she grades quizzes hard, but it helps you realize what you are doing wrong, and do it right on the test.

DE is a tough topic. She is helpful if your looking for help. She has office hours and emails you back if you send Q's. Your quizzes and tests are marked with where you went wrong. Works top homework Q's in class. Weekly quiz. Grading is firm but fair & quick. She knows the topics inside and out (professional math teacher) Native language ENG!

I have nothing negative to say about this professor. She was overall great and really knows how to teach Calculus in an easy and comprehensible way. I would recommend her to anyone, no doubt about it.

Great Calc 3 professor. Nice person. Lectures are clear. Half the class is spent going over homework examples. Do your homework every day and you'll have no problem with the quizzes. Tests are based on quizzes and homework. Ask her for any help needed. Seriously -- just keep up with homework and you'll do great. I didn't, but still did fine.

I liked her class. I made either a high B or low A. Not sure. With the way her class is structured I should have definitely made an A. She is very fair, but not necessarily easy. If you dedicate 2 hours of studying the night before you go to class and do your homework, you will make a decent grade. Don't talk while she talks...

Afraid of Calculus? You scared? Take her! Explains everything extremely well. One of the best math professors I have taken. Extremely helpful, and explains new concepts thoroughly with great examples. One suggestion, homework is NOT necessary, but I encourage you to do it. It's worth it. Also, whatever you learn at first, don't forget about it.

Easiest class I have ever taken. She is very clear in what she expects. Easy exams, super easy quizzes. Just do the homework on a regular basis and you will end up with an A for sure. Highly recommended.

Had her for Calc 1. Super great teacher!. The most interactive math class I've ever had. Difficulty level is consistent with a normal math class. She's super helpful and friendly. We always got chocolate chip cookies and sometimes pizza on test days!! Definitely don't recommend missing classes. I could have had an A if I didn't skip.

She handed out packets and made the students work together rather then teaching. Students will also go on the board and write the hw questions they don't and she would have other students solve the problem and she would just explain what the heck the did. I passed College Algebra an A+, Precal A+, Trig C+, and withdrew from Calc to save my GPA.

Professor Devoe is probably my favorite math teacher throughout my academic career. She really helps you understand calculus, she doesn't just give you a formula and say "here it is" she explains how you get there from past concepts. It's a shame she doesn't teach Calc 2, but looking forward to taking her Calc 3 and Differential Equations class.

Professor Devoe is awesome! Calculus isn't an easy class and you will have to work for a good grade in this class. Professor Devoe is extremely knowledgeable and explains concepts simply and thoroughly. She's very open to questions and is very helpful. I learned more then I expected to in this class.

She explains concepts very clearly and if you don't understand watch her videos! Do all the homework as it is assigned and you will pass her quizzes. 3 tests, the 3rd test is difficult. Study all the homework and quizzes. Gives a little extra credit. She is also very helpful if you ask for help and responds to emails very quickly. Overall amazing!

LOVE. Currently taking Biostats at a different univ and would love to have prof. DeVoe back! She is so helpful and goes over everything so clearly i am weak w/ math. She really makes sure you understand what is going on! STOP BEING LAZY. yes she gives homework and grades them for credit, but you get extra credit on tests if you do it all. TAKE HER!

Excellent professor! She explains concepts very well. Class time is split into homework, a short quiz once a week, lecture, and then practicing the new material in our small groups. Stickler for proper notation but that gets you in a good habit. Brings sweets on test days and gives a little bit of extra credit. Definitely would take again!

Made Calc III online doable. Explains step-by-step, makes it really simple to understand. 2 weekly lectures, 5 multiple choice ?'s after each. 3 question quizzes weekly. 3 tests, 1 final. Tests are not hard as long as you understand most of the review, which are textbook problems, like the hw. Up to 12pts extra credit. Replies quickly to emails.

Prof. Devoe is the best math teacher I've ever had! She is a total sweetheart and will help you right away if you need it. Her exams are straight forward and don't include any trick problems. If you do the homework and study the reviews you will get an A. I can't wait to take MAP2302 with her online!

I took Professor Devoe's Calc III online class and I can say this teacher was the best. Her whole course was amazingly structured and organized. She is a very sweet teacher and will answer your emails very quickly. Her tests and grading are very fair and if you do all of your homework and re-work your quizzes, you should do well on the exams.

She is the best teacher I've ever had. Her exams are ridiculously easy if you do your homework and the review problems she provides before Exams. The quizzes are due online every week (also easy). Her video lectures are outstanding and sometimes even funny. It's like you're her only student! I just wish she taught this course and D.E. in person.

Prof. Devoe was absolutely the best Prof. that I've had so far since I decided to go back to school. Her course is very well organized and her teaching style makes the material easy to understand. I did Calc III with her and received a (C) but that was my fault because I didn't study enough for the Final. I did D.E. with her & received an (A)

I loved taking calc 1 with professor Devoe! It was a lot of material to cover but she made it all seem very doable. She has you work in small groups, and I really liked that. It was a little annoying at times because sometimes a group member wouldn't be pulling their weight or would want you to teach them what they missed last class. TAKE HER CLASS

After a difficult Calc 2 prof, DeVoe was a breath of fresh air. The lecture videos are excellent. The exams are easier than the homework. Quizzes are done at home in your own time. All exams are untimed. The Final is conceptual and difficult but not too bad. You only need basic integration techniques for this class ( U sub, parts, that's it )

Trig was more difficult than this class. Same setup as her Calc3 class except there are no weekly check points and there is a fun airplane project that has the solutions available online. She still drops the two lowest quiz grades and the final exam grade can replace your lowest exam score. DeVoe could teach DE's to a monkey.

Best professor. I've had C's since calc 2 but I'm currently taking D.E online and I have a good chance of getting an A. Easy A if you stay on top of your game. I took this class in the summer in a period of 5 weeks and it wasn't that bad. Explains well and course is well structured.

I took professor Devoe for calc 1 during Spring semester and she was amazing, she completely created a new form of lecturing that makes the class fun. You work in groups reading through the material while she explains it as well. She assigns a lot of HW but it all reinforces what you're learning, tests and quizzes accurately reflect what you study

Great class. Attendance isn't mandatory; however, you won't get all of the information you need if you don't show up. Plus, there are extra points for showing up everyday (or only missing one class). We work in groups every day to go over the homework, choose wisely. Doing the homework is extremely important even if it seems like a lot of work.

Compared to how UCF professors teach this class, going through this Calc 3 online class was a breeze. I did all the quizzes, lesson checkpoints, tests, homework (not graded/optional), and passed with flying colors. She is wonderful at explaining math in a simple way and I love her online lectures. One of the best!

Professor DeVoe is one of the best math professor at Valencia. She is willing to answer any questions students have. Her handouts are an amazing combination of instruction and notes. She gives extra credit for answering other students' questions on homework, and cookies are available on test day. Part of test days are also review and Q&A.

Professor DeVoe's lecture material is easy to navigate and provides enough insight to do well on the quizzes and exams; homework is supplemental. If you already have a heavy course load, then I would recommend this class as you can finish the weekly assignments in a couple hours.

The professor know the material and gives you all the information you need for the course. If you study her notes, and do her homework you will be set for the exam. The checkpoints are a pain because they are only 5 points. Tough grader but she gives good feedback for you to understand where and why you were wrong. Quick answering emails.

Amazing professor. De Voe does her best to keep her pass rates high - she assigns the class into groups, which makes learning the material a lot easier. Tests are just like the reviews. Visit her office hours! She's very friendly, funny, ridiculously smart, and always willing to help. Does the absolute most to help every single student pass.

She is very devoted to her work and willing to help you if you struggle. Different methods of teaching, such as implementing lots of group work which I believe are very beneficial. Beware* The quizzes and tests have a lot of weight so do not take those lightly. HW is optional but strongly recommended as well. Lots of Extra credit.

Took Jody DeVoe for Spring 2018 Online Differential Equations. The fear of this course almost caused me to change my major because I was not naturally gifted at math. Jody's lectures were completely recorded online which meant you could "go back to class" anytime you wanted. I earned a solid B in DifEQ because Jody made it easy and fun to learn!

Going through this class was so simple and I am so happy I was able to take the course with her. The 3 tests and the final count for 80% of the final grade so make sure you study well. Overall the exams were easy and I highly advise you guys to take advantage of the extra credit.

GREAT TEACHER, took her for stats as well. Gives you everything you need to know. exceptional feedback, can be reached easily, gives hw every class but not too much to overwhelm you. HW is necessary, participation is necessary, lots of extra credit opportunities. good for visual/hands on learning, have groups. it was great

Took her for DE. Easy A if you're willing to go over her lectures and practice some homework problems. Final replaces one of the lowest from the 3 tests. Easy quizzes and airplane project at the end of the semester which you don't have to do if you complete all the quizzes.

Weekly checkpoints can get annoying/time consuming. Watch the weekly videos and do practice homework to prep for exams. Good professor with fair grading and clear explanations. More conceptual than Calc II, get ready for word problems. Study main concepts for quizzes. Keep up with homework and concepts, everything builds off each other.

Very easy class, just watch the videos and work along with them and you will be fine. Homework is optional but I did not do it and still passed... Exams are a bit lengthy though.

The Differential Equation is not easy, but it was the only course that I needed help least from YouTube thanked to her good lecture videos. I took the short one so homework, quizzes (10), and exams (3), final (1) were intensive. Homework was not required, but if I did not do it, I don't think I would pass everything. Good thing: no MatLab or WebA
