This is the second online math class I have taken with Professor Harris. She is wonderful. She goes out of her way to help students. You can set up an online session with her for help. Online class requires many hours of studying. Please don't take this class thinking it's an easy A. You have to put in the time. Great Professor!

I took the online class and its a lot of work. You have to make sure you keep up with the assignments. Assignments are EVERY week and they take about 5 hours to complete. She provides videos and as much additional assistance as needed for you to understand everything. She is very helpful and a great teacher.

This class couldn't be any harder! You will spend half of your life doing HW and quizzes which you have to score 80%, and they only count for 10% of your final grade each. Lowest of 4 exams dropped, and the multiple choice final is worth 30%. Her videos are the only good thing about the course, they will help you pass, but the course is too much.

I failed this class in a classroom. Online version is not easy but much better for my schedule.Although it's a lot of work the online homework & quizzes count as 20% of your grade which means instead of the tests counting as 70% of your grade, they only count as 50%.That gave me the opportunity to increase my average by 20 points. Love the teacher.

Drops lowest test-supplies sample exams with matching videos. Sample exams are exactly like test. Online homework requires a minimum of 80 which really helps you learn it & is worth 10% of your grade. Online quizzes worth 10% of grade. Great opportunity to get extra points toward average. All tests have 5 extra credit points. Multiple choice final.

Professor Harris is an excellent teacher! I'm taking her online class. You really have every resource you need available to you and every oportunity to succeed. Professor Harris responds to email quickly and is always willing to help. Her videos are the most helpful. She's very flexible and grants 3 extensions. Excellent teacher!

I really did not like her. She is completely annal about everything. I am okay at math I usually pass with a B, I passed this one with a C, but it was the most frustrating class I have has this semester. I was stressing out over it all the time. I DO NOT recommend taking her online course.

Took the online class. I was kind of lazy throughout the semester so that didnt help much but she is kind of not so helpful. With the video lectures she is awesome but asking general question I caught a little attitude with no kind of "happiness" to help. I wouldnt recommend the online class. Excellent teacher. Took her online college algebra class and got a B. I might add, I took this class 2 other times on campus and failed them... just never got it... she makes it easy with the videos and the whiteboard. Very patient and helpful. Held phone conversations with me when I just couldn't get it! I wish all professors were like her!

Online classes are no different than regular ones except u save travel time. Same material but harder cause ur learning it on ur own-sometimes it even takes longer to learn.The good news is that u can do it at ur convenience as long as u finish the weekly work.Prof makes own videos which are great.Tests r not mult choice but u get partial credit.

I'd like to begin by saying the only way any mathematics course is easy is by every day practice of the material. Now when it comes to Professor Harris she gives you so much material and help that of you fail her class is because you as a student didn't keep up your end of the deal. Do your assigned homework and quizes because in the end that 10% could be the difference between passing and failing. Great teacher. She is very organized and she helps you study by grading homework and giving sample exams. This teacher always keeps you posted about important events and constantly updates your grade so you know where you stand at all times. I had Professor Harris for both MAC1033 and MAC1105(online). I got an A in the online class (MAC1105) and a B in MAC1033. What an amazing professor! If you don't do well in her class it is because you don't take notes and you don't want to learn. She practically hand feeds you the material. No professor will ever be as amazing as her.

Don't know what this last student is talking about. Professor is the bomb, so helpful if u ask. Online classes are hard so u have to work hard but if u follow the rules of the class it's no big deal. She gives sample exams with matching videos, drops lowest test, & gives extra credit on every test. She does penalize u if u do not follow the rules.

Hard teacher but very fair. She gives you all the tools that you need to pass. If you follow her steps such as sample videos for exams you are guaranteed to pass

Awesome class and professor. I am terrible at math, but somehow managed a B in the class (before the final, so hopefully I can keep the B after my final tomorrow!). She is extremely fair and always willing to help you. I can't imagine anyone leaving a single negative comment. TAKE THIS CLASS!!

I took Professor Harris for the first time for MAT1033. She made such an impression I took her for MAC 1105 as well. Taking online classes is always a challenge but she made life a lot easier taking her class.she gives unlimited times for a good grade on both online home/quizes. Tests are straight forward. All sample test come with sample videos.:)

The greatest online math instructor I ever had. Teaches with the elan of a Julius Caesar. Regularly communicates with you. Tough as nails but very thorough. If you make the effort to regularly communicate with her and watch all of her online videos, you are guaranteed to pass the course. I give her two thumbs way up!!

People told me that math online would be very hard, but with Ms. Harris it seem too easy. Before every test, she gives you sample test that's just like the real test. All I advise you to do is pace yourself don't wait till the last minute.Her videos are more than helpful and all you need,don't buy the book, my book never got open.

I took her class online when I absolutely had no math background. She is extremely helpful, clear and there for her students. She's absolutely do anything to make sure you understand the material. You can't fall behind in her class - all homework and online quizzes are mandatory for the on-campus tests. However, prepare to study a lot.

Jody Harris was an awesome teacher. There was almost no way that you could fail her class, especially the Mathzone HW. She provided so many opportunities for you to excel in her class, it was definitely not easy, but if you studied well and asked for help then it was totally doable. This is my 2nd online class with Professor Harris and I can tell she's an example of how every teacher should be. She really cares about you. Wants you to learn and pass the class. Her exams are very similar to the sample exam she provides before each test. Do your part (weekly homework on Mathzone) and practice the sample exam and you'll get an A!

Professor Harris really helped me to freshen up on my math. I thought the way she ran her online course was excellent she gave all the opportunities in the world for students to get the help they needed. I took Mac 1105, and Pre-Algebra with her. She is very helpful and responds to emails within the hour usually. She gives you a sample test before each test, and nothing is from the extraordinary in her tests. Very much recommend if you can handle an online class.

I have had horrible experiences with BC Math professors. This professor changed that. Everything is very clear. The h.w. and quizzes are very helpful. Submit all assignments in a timely fashion, review the sample exams, and watch her videos. She is a straight forward professor and gives you EVERYTHING needed to succeed.

This is a difficult course. To make matters worse this is a difficult course that is offered by Professor Harris online. Professor Harris explains the problems and solutions in her videos with great clarity. She is also available for online tutoring which I took advantage of multiple times. i took her class for the winter 2012 online class, this class is hard especially online. but she makes it a lot easier by posting her videos on mathzone, and you can request an appoitnment online with her on mathzone. do the work you will pass maybe get an A i did. she is really helpful, answers qquestions right away. best online teacher.

I took this online after failing twice, once in a class and once hybrid. It helps as she has reviews and vids that you can you minutes before the test. She's so helpful and will do anything to help you pass. It's still hard but a lot easier to manage this way. You MUST do the work early and spread out or else, youre sunk.

At first I was scared to take an online class due to all the information thrown at you at first but it really is easier, more flexible in timing, and Professor Harris makes sure to give you all the resources you need to pass! Honestly, I had some trepidation with taking an online math class, but it was soon wiped away after taking Prof Harris' class. She never seemed to be out of touch with her students; she was always available. Her videos, practice tests, HW assignments are all helpful toward achieving success. Practice and you'll be just fine. Online course, no book, no addl fees. ALEKS software is used, difficult to navigate. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE IF YOU ARE NOT GOOD AT TEACHING YOURSELF. Youtube is helpful. 5 test, 1 final (multiple choice)-all taken at Central campus. Very time consuming. Set aside the time to do homework and the weekly objectives and you will pass. (stressful)

I took Professor Harris online for MAT1033 and again for MAC1105. I think she's great. Always in contact with her students, sets up extra credit practice tests before exams and supplies plenty of video links. Overall good professor.

This is the best Math teacher I've ever dealt with and the best online class. Let me start off by saying that College Algebra is a tough course, especially if math is not your strongest skill, but this teacher gives you all the tools to be successful. Instructional videos, 1-on-1 discussions, test sample questions with videos. Its all there.

Professor Harris was incredibly considerate as I had a rough time with scheduling due to my job. I did not do as well as I would have liked in the class but that had nothing to do with her teaching methods which I found to be very efficient. Grade A teacher, no pun intended.

Passed her class but would NOT take her again. None of her test are multiple choice other than the final. MUST report once a week (can't she already see the work is being done?).NO extra credit.I kept up with all assignments, studied and still managed to do poorly on tests. NOT AN EASY GRADE!

Professor Harris is the bomb.com. College Algebra is not an easy class, but if you do the homework given and watch the videos that Professor Harris have taken the time out to make for each question for all test, you will pass the class.

Prof. Harris is great, very fun even though I just met her once for the final. She just wants to help you and make you feel comfortable. This is my 8th online class & perhaps the best I have seen. I am surprised by some comments I've seen over the months about this prof. I found prof to be organized, helpful, efficient, & responsive. She is almost always available. Her class is not easy. Worked hard for my grades but there are reviews for every quiz & test. What more do you want?

Best online professor I have had so far at BC. Did not like required discussions. Professor says it's a department requirement. Did notice same questions were on the midterm & final which really helped. No xtra credit at end of semester but did get extra points for doing the practice reviews for midterm & final so that was like getting xtra credit.

Professor Harris was straight forward, barely ever using the book. If you did ALEK, following all the assignments you'd easily pass her class. Responds to questions quickly, clear instructions. I obtained a "B" in the class, which math isn't my best subject.

I really enjoyed this online class. Prof Harris had great examples in D2L which helped understand ALEKS when I would have issues with certain problems, no pun intended. Prof Harris was always communicating and would offer one on one help or study groups if the students wished to receive it. I had a great time in this class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great course if you can handle self paced course. Professor Harris was always there to help by request. I followed her suggestions and it certainly paid off. Great online course for a disciplined person with a family that needs flexibilty.

This was an online class, so you need to be sure to be prepared. Professor Harris was very helpful and always ready to assist you if necessary. For my class we used the ALEKS program, which was very easy to use. If you ever needed to email the teacher, she responded right away. I loved being in Professor Harris' class!!! With her instructions and Aleks I was able to understand math for the first time. Not going to lie its a lot of work and I wouldn't recommend her if your not prepared to work but for those of you who are willing she goes above and beyond to provide you with extra helpful material and practice tests.

Professor is an excellent teacher of Algebra. Most of the work is done through ALEKS but she assigns a couple of mandatory discussions. These assignments were quite helpful to me. Professor Harris is quick to respond to questions and assist when necessary. Her goal seems to be to get her students through a difficult subject.

Professor Harris is wonderful. Every class day expect a quiz (extra credit quiz) based off the work that was completed from the test the night before on Aleks. As long as you attend class and spend time ( hours weekly about 12-15) in Aleks you will pass. This teacher knows her stuff from every angle and doesn't mind helping her students.

I took this class for a summer semester. As you can imagine cramming a lot of material in 2 months is not easy, but thankfully this teacher has a good work schedule set for students. This teacher responds to any concerns extremely fast. During a technical problem with a submission the professor was understanding. Take her! You won't regret it!

Professor Harris goes above and beyond to make sure you understand the material. She answers questions within a couple of hours, and always gives a clear answer the first time. She is a great professor. she is one of those old school professor's that will encourage you to do your homework, be in top of the game. by far, she was able to explain every content, and she would give little tips to help you remember. just do your lab, if you have any, and attend lectures. I am currently still in this class, and I am so happy I chose her as my teacher! ALEKS is a really helpful website that we use, as long as you divide your work load every week, you shouldn't feel overwhelmed or anything. She gives three - four practice tests before your actual test. You can take the practice test as many times up until the test!

This is not an easy class but she gives you everything you need to pass. Great videos,handouts, and lecture notes. Her tests are taken straight from the reviews. So do your homework. Don't skip the reviews. Go to her office hours, if necessary. She is very helpful.

Professor Harris is the best online professor I have had so far and I've had many. You have to do the work but if you do the tests are manageable. She answers her emails, has study sessions before tests and is involved which is not too normal for online classes. I would absolutely take her again and strongly recommend taking her.

I must say, Prof. Harris is one of the best online instructors because she is very attentive to all questions and concerns. She sends reminders for upcoming graded work. She will go above and beyond to make sure you have all opportunities to get an A in her class. She will send you emails to keep you up to speed on what is expected of you and when things are due. I have never had an online professor who was as clear and responsive as her.

Professor Harris was a great professor. I had her session 1 blended class. The class met once a week but a bit of work on ALEKS. Professor Harris always gave very good lectures. The test were a tough cookie but I managed to score an A on the final. The final and the 3 test are taken at the Central testing room so you may have to make arrangements.

The class revolves around the use of the ALEKS system, which is what it is. She responded quickly to me, and seemed to care about student success. Beware the two discussion posts for online courses, combined they are 10% of your grade, so missing these two drops your grade a whole letter, which seems a bit out of balance.

What a great teacher!!! Explains at least 50% of the material in class and then goes over almost all of the material you were suppose to learn on your own at home. Reviews before each class quiz if there are questions and again after the quiz. Spends approximately 1 hour on new lecture and reviews older material students are struggling with.

Professor offers extra credit every week but does have a lot of homework prob cuz blended course. Explains well, weekly quizzes based on homework. Videos in D2L that matches quiz and practice tests. Can't ask for too much more.

Professor expects students to come to class prepared. Told us that from day 1 because of the blended aspect of the class. If you didn't do your work, go to office hours - don't waste class time expecting her to teach you the home lesson. What about today's lesson? The rest of us are ready. Took this as a blended class. Only met once a week. We had a quiz every time we got to class. A lot of homework to do on aleks. There are 4 tests and you have to do good on them or you wont pass. She replaces your worst test grade with your final. Would defiantly take her again

Professor Harris is the BEST math professor at BC Central. Ive taken her for both MAT1033/MAC1105 and I got As in both via a lot of hard work. I wish her classes met more than once a week. I took her for Blended E-Learning so she would go over the lessons in class and all of the assignments are online. She does cares about her students. The questions on her quizzes are very similar on the tests so you shouldn't worry about any surprises. You have to put in the effort to pass. If not, you'll barely make it.

This professor is amazing. You have a quiz every class but they're the same as the pre-quizzes you take at home. The only thing that sucks is that they're only 2 or 3 questions to one wrong and you're done. She is really nice and explains everything step by step. She is very accessible and helpful.

Nice teacher. College algebra isnt easy. I failed it 3 times before passing with an A with this teacher. The blended class requires you to put more effort into teaching yourself so be mindful of that. Quizzes every class so you really cant be absent. Shes willing to help. Go to her office hours. Aleks is just annoying overall, not her fault.

She's amazing!!! I took her class and passed with a 98%. All you have to do is show up and take a quiz and she lectures at the end. Quiz every class so you cant really miss. I passed all of her tests because the practice tests are very similar to her reviews, just take her!!! You won't regret it

She teaches BLENDED classes only which means only half the topics are covered in class & the other half are learned on your own at home. If you can't do that or don't like that, don't take her but if you do, stop complaining if you are not successful.  By 5/2, you know your grade for the previous post. Plus in her class, you always know your grade.

I took her Intermediate Algebra and College Algebra classes and ended the term with As in both. She's a great teacher and her lectures are very helpful so don't miss class. There is a quiz everyday but you already know the quiz questions which are taken from your homework. Test questions are taken from the review pack. Study and you can't fail.

Come to class on time. Do the assigned work on time. Follow the professors suggestions and you will pass the class. I went to office hours almost weekly and it made a real difference. Ask for help. Don't procrastinate when it comes to the Aleks assignments and be sure to fully complete the practice test reviews before you take the tests. Every point adds up to you getting the grade you want to finish the class with.

She is a wonderful person, but if you don't stay on top of this class it is hard. The amount of homework is insane. Every week/two there is new Aleks modules due which takes forever even when you try. Pre test on Aleks due before class... usually 3 tries. classroom quiz every class which is very important to do good on. only take if you can handle.

The best professor I have had at broward college. She cares and helps students in and out of class. Answers emails at night and even on weekends. Tests and quizes are based on the reviews given in class. If you don't pass this class it is cause yo are not trying or doing your work.

I was out of school for over 10 years and I thought passing this class was going to be beyond difficult but she does an incredible job of making sure you understand the work and is available to answer any questions you have. Professor Harris is pretty good and has tons of knowledge in the subject. This was one of the best professors I have had so far! The class was not hard, you do have to dedicate a lot of time to make sure you acquire the knowledge for the tests each class and for the real big tests throughout the semester(4 of them) WOULD DEFINITELY TAKE AGAIN

Prof Harris is great. I took her course as a blended course. The first homework assignment was a lot but after that they were not a lot. 2-3 questions quizzes in the beginning of each class (dont weigh much, dont worry). 3 exams and 1 final(cumulative). Excellent Algebra teacher. She explains very clearly. The thing with math is, you have to complete the homework and take practice quizzes multiple times to really master topics. She is strict with due dates and you will only be able to make up missed quizzes if you have a serious excuse. There are short quizzes every class so you can't miss a day.

OMG... What's wrong with people. This professor made the pandemic transition so smooth with constant reassurance. She personally sat online with me giving me a 90 minute test because I didn't have a webcam. What a gem. She has gone out of her way for all of us. I could not recommend her more highly!!!!

Well overall, I took her for spring of 2021 and the course was blended. The wrk was challenging and not impossible. I presonally, didn't read the ebook, but instead watched Organic chem. teacher for math help and attend her lecturse( which is required and help as well).

I found Prof Harris to be amazing. She lectured on all of the material & was constantly extending assignments for us even though there were no extensions in this class. She made everything easier if you listened. There are practice reviews that match every exam. Her office hours are very helpful. If you fail it's cause you are not trying.

Excellent professor I though I was a dummie on math but ended up getting an A on the course. She gave us great feedback and her lectures are awesome. You only need to put hours into her class and you will be goo to go.

She's honestly been one of my favorite professors this semester but I did find trouble collecting a proper score. Each question in tests weighs a lot of marks but other than that, she's an amazing teacher and takes your personal emergencies into consideration without failing you. I would definitely take the course again with her.

Professor Harris was a great math teacher, I hated math and she made me realize it's not that bad. She is always willing to help, loves questions. She always goes over questions a student was confused on, she gives test corrections to boost your test grade, and she's always making funny little jokes.

This was my first math class at BC, this professor is an amazing math teacher, while the work is hard, all you need to do is show up and try to learn, take advantage of office hours, try to participate as much as you can trust me, and ask questions, she lets you redo tests for points missed, if YOU try you will pass , amazing teacher overall.

The teacher was amazing and made the work easy to understand because I'm not the best at math. We has 5 tests divided by 16 weeks - a test every 3 weeks with topics divided evenly. She even gave extra credit on tests. Sometimes I went to office hours for extra help - very welcoming. I could not have asked for a better and more caring teacher.

Best professor I've had at BC. Took MAC1105C previously with another professor and did awful and failed, I genuinely thought it was my fault and I must be horrible at math. Retook the course during summer with professor Harris and I swear it was a completely different story. I understood everything with ease and got As in every test. She is amazing

Love this professor. Wow, it's pretty hard to not pass this class if you attend the lecture and do the hw. I also went to office hours to get extra help. Prof. Harris offers extra credit on her tests and gives a review for each test. This was my second time taking this class. I took it with another professor and the tests were very similar.

Best professor ever. Really cares about her students. Offers extra credit. Excellent test reviews - just like the test. Lectures are really helpful. Let's class out early most of the time. Available outside of class. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

I wish I could take all my math courses with this professor, unless you don't do your work you cannot fail. She gives countless opportunities for extra credit and if you ever have issues she will make sure you walk out understanding what your doing. There's a test review for every test and she makes the lessons easy to grasp.

Super easy math class. As long as you attend class, keep up, and study you'll do good. Professor Harris explains everything to succeed in the class. Attending her reviews are so helpful as basically everything she goes over is on the test but different numbers. She even raised my 89 average to an A because I attended class often and did my work.

Professor Harris is hands down one of the best professors I've ever had.She's extremely accommodating, offers office hours almost daily, and breaks things down clearly.Her study guides and tips are everything. If you do the ALEKS, study, and put in effort, you'll succeed.I'm not writing this because she asked I'm writing it because she earned it.

Professor Harris was a really great teacher! There's only so much you can say about a math course- it's going to be hard, but having her as a professor makes up for it! There are MULTIPLE extra credit opportunities. You can stay after class to ask questions or go to office hours, and she always does her best to help you!! Also really funny.

Her class was enjoyable, blending humor with discipline to make learning engaging.Despite her efforts, I found the terms too complex after years in school. Even with tutorials, I struggled to grasp the material. If math isn't your strong suit or English is your second language, consider starting with MAT0022 for a solid foundation before advancing.

Unit tests use honorlock but there was always an issue, she does watch the recordings. But besides that she gives good feedback and is quick to answer questions. My math skills have improved since taking the course. Be ready to dedicated time to complete the hw and reviews.

The class wasn't that bad but she did assign a lot of homework. She wasn't bad but I definitely feel like she should take into consideration personal issues that we may have and how not everything is about this class. She did respond to emails quickly and for the final she uploaded a video reviewing the final exam test which was helpful.

This is the best proff ever I almost fail but she help me. and the class is not that hard she is very nice I highly recommend you take this class if you want to pass she is truly care about the students and willing to help if needed. Thank you proff Jody

Best teacher by far, she is always available to answer questions and very understanding. She does assign quite a few assignments each week using the Honorlock program, so make sure you stay proactive on completing weekly assignments. My biggest mistake was taking this as an online class after not practicing algebra for over 15 years.

Really nice professor. She teaches really well-makes problems seem simple. She explained that since it is a departmental course, she has no control on the number of assignment or tests. She gives test reviews & extra credit so that was cool. It's a summer class so it was intense & fast paced but it was my fault for taking it in the summer not hers.

I'm not the best overall when it comes to math but professor Harris really did make the course very understandable and offered help whenever needed would 100% take her class again.

I'm not a great math student but Prof Harris makes it feel okay. She explains things very clear, goes over it again if asked, gives an extra review which is identical to test & offers extra credit on each test. If you come to class, pay attention, ask questions when needed, you will pass her class. Very helpful during office hours. Great professor!

Although this was an online course, the professor was available and always answered my email right away. She was helpful and caring. She met me many times during online office hours to answer my questions. I would highly recommend.

An online class is not easy. She is willing to meet with you online in office hours to help with questions & clear explanations which is essential. But be careful, she checks the test videos & gives zeros for cheating which includes not showing your phone & turning it off. I had to deal with a zero on a test but I knew the rules & chose to ignore.

Professor Harris was the best professor I could've chosen. She was super caring and actually teaches you. Don't listen to any of the negative reviews on here, everyone who wrote bad reviews at the end of the day truly didn't try because she gives all the resources and time you need to succeed. Please take her if you actually care about school.
