He is truly one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. He has a passion for what he teaches and truly wants everyone to learn the material. It is not the easiest subject, but well worth taking it if you are willing to put in the effort.

I loved Mr. Beeman. Really really funny....loved his stories really hard but all his covered test material is in the notes that he really focuses on in his test. HE's the coolest!!!!

HE IS THE BEST TEACHER THAT I HAVE EVER HAD.

he's tough. i suggest if you take him, not to take that many classes as well. 7 quizzes and 4 tests. you dont have to buy the book either b/c everything is on his lecture. just go to the library and photocopy the pictures. just study A LOT and youll pass, but an A is touch to get, a B is possible but most people get C's. GOOD LUCK

The subject is hard... so obviously it will be a hard class... but Mr. Beeman does nothing but make it easy. He presents the material in an organized and thought-out manner. I only studied the night before the test and I got a 98 % in his class. Just take good notes and pay attention in class and study your notes for your test. You dont need book!

Mr. Beeman is such a great professor. I had him for Bio 115 and for Physio. He is really available to his students and a really down to earth guy. Be prepared to work your butt off for the A. Bio 115 was a breeze. Physio kick my A**. Got through it and enjoyed spending a year learning from him. Take him!

His class was extremely hard. PREPARE TO LOSE ALL AND ANY SOCIAL CONNECTIONS. You will have no life for the extent of this class, but its a really inspiring and interesting class. It wasn't even my major, but now im considering a minor in it. Very straightforward. If you take good notes and study them youre bound to get atleast a B - C.

He is the best!. He is very clear and specific in lectures. If you pay attention in the class you will know the subject by heart before the class is over. A little more work at home you are ready for the test. Nothing is unexpected in his class. He makes everyone aware of everything ahead of the time. You will learn and get a good grade.

well this is a biology class n expect to work your butt off in this class..i even got an F and a D on two tests..i nearly dropped in this class but i was determined to pass the class so i stayed and studied hard during the last few weeks of class until finals..well i did pass thank god! he has helpful packets and do some readings also, it'll help!

I no longer go to GCC because I moved but I wish I could've stayed to take more of beeman's classes. 115 was a blast even though i didn't do as much studying as he could. he is very helpful in all aspects. i had a low c before the final and I worked my butt off, with the help of Mr. Beeman's encouragement and passed the class with a B!

What a wonderful class. The fact that he's so nice and so fun to be around made this challenging class a memorable experience. I could have picked an easier Lab science for my major, but I'm glad I too the chance....I learned a lot. But don't even think about taking a lot of classes w/ this one. You might not be able to deal w/ the study load.

He plays out biological processes and uses fun metaphors and examples. He was so fun to listen to and to learn from. Yet another positive feedback for Mr. Beeman!, He is truly the perfect professor on campus. I took this class in winter. It was tough but Mr. Beeman gave me a lot of confidence and motivation. I took Beeman for Physiology and it was a very hard class. An A is possible but beware he is probably the hardest physiology teacher at GCC. He is a fun teacher always making the class laugh with his stories. Overall good teacher, hard class.

Took him for 115 and 121. One of the best biology teachers out there. Really friendly, really cool. Can be really fast when he teaches. You can not I repeat can not miss a class or you will miss a lot. I got an A in physio,and I wasn't the only one. Its very do-able, just keep up and ask questions.

He's a good professor if Physiology is your only course in your schedule...but i had 14 units and i ended up with a D in this class because it's nonstop memorization. He doesn't give any hints; always says the exams are on "everything". Just because we get tips to focus on doesn't mean we won't learn. Try to get lucky when focusing essay questions.

He's very enthusiastic professor, he knows the materials. He's class is very funny and 1 hour and 30 minutes just went so quickly. He's one of the person that never test you on something that he didn't teach, but still if you want to get a decent grade, you have to study. He's fair grader and he won't give you grade you have to earn it.

Physiology is hard, so get over it. Beeman is an awesome teacher. He will tell you over and over again that his tests aren't tricky, but he always throws in a few weird ones. He usually gives you possible essay questions. He is funny too. Just take good notes or record his lectures and study his note packets and you'll have a solid B.

Subject matter & tests are difficult. Getting an A is POSSIBLE if you have the dedication & time. He's the HARDEST physio prof but he's a fair grader. the only reason you'd be taking the class is if you're either going to be a nurse, a doctor or a pharmacist. With that said, I WOULD HOPE the material that's taught is thorough enough to prepare you for those fields, and Mr. Beeman definitely prepared me. I took his class in 07/04. Just graduated from nursing school and still think back about what encouraged me to keep up with my science requirements...his wonderful teaching, inspiration and love for biology. Mr. Beeman inspired me to get into Nursing. When i first attended his class it was a requirement but I have never taken a science class before. He really inspires you by making the material so interesting. I am graduating in Dec 08 from my nursing school and have him to thank cuz if he didnt make it so fun, i would of never made it this far!!!

Mr. Beeman is an amazing professor! If you want an easy A go somewhere else. If you want a challenge and to learn, take his class. He's very helpful but you have to go to him. He is a motivator. He can reach out w/o being mean so that you stay focused on the class. But, he also breaks the monotony by cracking jokes or telling stories. Take very good notes, read the book if unsure, look at pics, office hrs, don't miss a class, memorize. Teaching is all in the style! That is what I think they should teach the teachers.

He is the BEST TEACHER EVER! I took Bio 115 with him and enjoyed it. You need to study 3-5 hours a day so you can get an A in his class.4 big tests including the final test. Half of the questions were multiple choice, and half were essay questions and pictures. He motivated me a lot and made me love my major more than before. GREAT TEACHER!!

Beeman is an EXCELLENT instructor. In all the years I've taken science courses, he is by far the best at explaining an interesting but difficult subject. took mizuno 1st then beeman.mizuno tests have straightforward "what is it?" mult choice, matching and short answers need only 1-2 sentences.beeman tests have outside-the-box mult choice where u have to know a concept and be able to apply it and essay questions where u have 2 write everything u kno until ur hand falls off. mizuno's easier.

Mr. Beeman is the person who really made me interested in wanting to become a nurse. He uses his life experiences to help you remember important facts in his lectures and I found them very useful. I'm taking him again for Physio. He's an amazing teacher with a lot to give and very caring when it comes to students and will help if you ask.

Hard class, the best teacher!Non comulative final, gives some extra points, tests are not tricky, but not easy. Felt exhausted at the end of the semester. Lots of people dropped because they didn't expect such a hard time, so try not to take other hard classes with this one. Defenitely recommended before Anatomy and Physiology!

Great teacher BUT the hardest I've ever had! Quizzes are OK, tests are hard, especially essay questions although he allows to write schematically to save your time. Doesn't pay attention to grammar and spelling. "A" in this class almost killed me:) He speaks extremely fast so use recorder, it'll really help you

BEEMAN! He is the most interesting yet hardest teacher I have ever had. Take plenty of notes during every single lecture, use your iphone to record his lectures. (trust me you're gonna go back and listen to it a lot). You have quizzes about once a week and a test about ever 3-4 weeks! Just study really hard, memorize everything and walla :)

You have to know a good level of basic human anatomy to pass this class. No knowledge of it will prove hard to get through. Non majors should not take this class. Some English as a Second Language Students I noticed may experience harder time due to the vocabulary of words used.

Only take Mr. Beeman if you are pursuing a career in medicine. He really should be teaching a graduate program.

Prof Beeman is knowledgeable, understanding, and very fair.The Exam consist of 65 multiple choice and 6 essay questions.Essay questions are not straightforward;lots of critical thinking is required time is a huge factor Hint:20min on multiple choice 1hour on the essay portion.Best bio prof, I highly recommend him if you are up for a challenge.

One of the most passionate teachers at GCC!! Don't be fooled. It was not an easy class. Required A LOT of studying. You just will be fine pacing your studying way prior to the tests. He curves pretty well too. But he is SO PASSIONATE, KNOWLEDGEABLE, FUNNY, HELPFUL. Just what a standard ALL teachers should be.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! His testes are 60-80 multiple choice; 4-6 essay questions clinical based; it is a hard class YOU MUST STUDY!! However, he is a great professor he knows how to prepare you for the health field. I work in a NICU and this class helped me understand my job better. I had to shake Mr. Beemans hand after the final exam bcus hes awesome

He knows his stuff and is dedicated to share that knowledge with his students. Class does require studying. Record his lectures & fix your notes & ask questions. Mr. Beeman is a very good instructor. He can be a bit much, especially early in the morning but he knows his stuff and he wants to make sure you do too. Don't even think about cruising in this class, you'll fall behind really quick if you're lazy

Probably one of the greatest teacher I've had in my life. He inspires me to study medicine because he makes the class really interesting! You cant doze off even for a minute in his class, every second of the lecture is VERY important. I always studied the night before but only because I partnered with a friend. It helps ALOT. He saves you from dementia! Highly motivating. Tells stories in b/w lecture that gives the students a breathing point. Tough class. Memorize! Extra credit only given in the exams. I received an A and what I did was record his lectures and took detailed. His tests consist of multiple choice and written questions that require your critical thinking skills and detailed explanations. Time is also limited so write fast. Also, try not to miss a class. He doesn't count attendance but you will miss a ton of information.

recommend professor beeman for all bio classes! his class and tests are tough so you can't miss any lectures. go to all labs so you can get a full 30points for attendance he adds at the end of the semester. record EVERYTHING and you won't need the textbook. he provides all slides on moodle.

He motivates students to do their best, because he believes that we all have the potential of becoming one of the best medical professionals someday. His lectures are engaging and funny. I will honestly say that his class was challenging, but I learned so much from him.

Awesome, kind-hearted professor. Beeman's tests are unlike any i've taken before; there is a written portion at the end of about 6 questions each time and these were usually clinical based so it was definitely a challenge and really tested your true commitment to physiology.

The test and grading criteria are clear cut pretty much, but sometimes there's those trick questions. Always record the lectures and listen to them, he's very keen on details. You don't need the book, I bought it and never used it. Overall, it's an easy class, I loved it, but then again it's my major. Show up and pay attention that's all I can say.

This class is tough. My friend skipped class for speech to study for his tests; she got an A in the course. I went to all my classes and also studied for his test, I got a B in the course. You can try study groups. You can try studying alone. Try to be creative, because learning physiology and anatomy is full of memorization techniques. Try!!

If you want to learn Physiology, then take ONLY his class. He is very nice and polite lecturer , and very honest grader. After you take his Bio-115 and Bio-121 classes you will see how easy to pass Bio-120 and Pathology classes. Take him and you will be happy.

The material is very lean, and he knows exactly when to give your brain a break. I wish all of my teachers had his level of devotion to his craft.

Mr. Beeman is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is a comedian. I absolutely loved his lectures because he always found a way to make us laugh. I took him this fall for Physio. This class however, is extremely rigorous. You have to study like 5days a week 9 hrs a day if you want to get a good grade. I learned a lot but super hard class!

The best teacher to take Physiology with! It is not an easy class and you really need to put most of your time into it. DO NOT leave studying to the last minute. Go home and study after every lecture. He explains everything perfectly and does it in a way for everyone to understand. He is funny and you will not get bored in his class!

I took classes with Beeman twice at GCC so that I could apply to a doctorate level program. I learned so much with Beeman, and because of what I learned with him I was very prepared for the coursework in the first year of my program.

Ive never had a professor like Beeman. I wish he taught every course I've taken because he's a great guy. but his bio courses are really tough and these are just intro courses!!!!! U need to study at least 2 hrs a day to get at least a b maybe if u spend 3 hrs a day with him ull get an A

Professor Beeman is not just an amazing professor, he is an amazing human being. He is kind, caring, ethical and passionate. The course material is tough and there is a lot to remember, but by using anecdotes about his family he makes it relatable and easier to remember. I took his 120 over the summer and was able to finish the 5 weeks with an A.

One of my all-time favorite professors. He is one of the most genuine human beings I have ever met and I would 100% take his class again. Take really good notes and study every night. Be sure to attend every class since he doesn't test on everything that is in the book, only what he covers.

His lectures are absolutely amazing and informative, one of the greatest professors I've ever had. But ONLY take this class if you're truly passionate about learning and you're willing to spend at least 2-3 hours each day on studying. Otherwise, I guarantee you, you will NOT pass (you'll get a C if you're lucky).

Clear and entertaining lectures. He was by far the kindest and most understanding professor I have had yet. He is open to questions and supportive of learning and teaches with enthusiasm. The subject is difficult, be prepared to read the book and study study study. Uses relatable examples, good feedback, and clear grading criteria.

Only 3 exams but he gives extra credit and tells you basically what you need to know to pass. He is a tough grader, and he doesnt curve because.... science.

Class was difficult - but if you put in the time, you will do well. Set aside a week before each exam and relisten to each lecture, making sure you fully understand the topics covered. Go to his office hours in the learning center, the time spent there will prepare you well for the long-response questions on the exam!

Beeman was a great professor, somebody taking his class 100% has to record his lectures and listen to them at home. I studied the note packet religiously and that will help with multiple choice. Listening to his lectures is what will help you with the written portion. I only worked weekends in order to study for just this class. Definitely no joke.

Joe Beeman is a great inspiraton because I have always felt the sign of a great teacher is someone who inspires you to go learn on your own. J. Beeman has certainly done that with me. Tough lecturer, tough tests, but always accesible. I took Bio 115 and re-took Bio 121 with him and even though I got 'C's both times, I received wisdom (invaluable).

I took this class during the winter session, and it is not for the weak. Professor Beeman, however, does an amazing job at explaining very difficult concepts until you understand them. He is hilarious and extremely smart. Very interesting class, but a lot of information that builds on top of itself, so you can't get lost.

Joseph is an incredibly funny guy, and definitely fast paced. But don't let that make you doubtful, as long as you PAY ATTENTION and TAKE NOTES, you'll pass the class with at least a B. He does not teach anything that he doesn't go over in his lectures.

As a person, Mr. Beeman is hilarious, caring, and kind. . He tells a lot of fun personal stories and at times he does brag about himself and shows quite a high ego. However his class is really difficult and fast paced. You have to really up your studying or else you fail/drop. One thing I didn't like was how occasionally he expressed antivax views

I have never done well in a science class until Beeman. Just record the lectures, make quizlets while listening to them and you'll literally get an A on each test. Such a funny nice guy he really made the lectures interesting. Put in the work and do the extra credit on the exams. Take him!!!!
