Crazy man! Keeps your attention in class.
This guy is cynical. He has anxiety problems or something so he can make you uncomfortable in class. It also adds a silly nature that makes you feel like the class isn't serious. This can be a bad thing when it comes to test taking time!
Bundy is a fair, easy and easy going teacher. His cell phone tolerance is not existent, so it better not ring. He uses a lot of visual aids and examples, because he knows biology is difficult for most. He also gives plenty of grades.
He must work out.
Bundy is a crazy mofo who I could tell scared some kids, but he is harmless. He is very fair however if you make any kind of effort. Really knows Bio, and I would highly recommend him.
He sucks as an advisor, doesnt seem to give a damn for helping a student out, wants you to be in and out. Also, he doesnt seem to give a damn for your time either.
Was very helpful in BIO 112L. He's crazy, but has a way to explain things so you can understand them. I wish I had had him for lecture as well.
He is a wild man that sometimes makes strange noises with his mouth. But he is a very good teacher and the test info is from the lecture and not the book.
take notes and study for the tests so you dont have to take the final! he will help you out if u put in effort.
Bundy is a good teacher. Fairly easy, a really pathetic sense of humor, but it makes for humorous lectures I suppose. The final is easy. He really sticks by that 180/200 rule, but if you do end up taking the final, don't sweat it.
Bundy is a good teacher and knows the information. He usually uses powerpoint for notes. The tests can be really hard but by taking time to study the information you will be able to understand and halfway comprehend the material. Be sure to do the other assignements rather than the test. THEY HELP!!
I would suggest taking Micro when Robin teaches the lab. He doesn't have office hours and is extremely sarcastic. I made an A, but had to work way too hard. He is discouraging and definitely screwed some people over. Caution folks. He's not that hard, but he will definitely get on your nerves.
He is so corny! lol It keeps me interested so it works. He is a young prof but he weras short shorts and t-shirts lol OH MY run for the hills
I'm taking Joe's class right now and i'm not a bio major or into science at all but i love his class. His teaching methods and ways of explaining the material keep you really interested and wanting to be there! If you are looking to take a BIO 105 course...deffinately take Joe Bundy!!

His class is average. He is a good teacher, but the test are pretty tough.
good teacher, makes the class easy and fun, few assignments, tests, not too hard. very straight forward teacher. he danced for us.
Great lab instructor! Really funny and made the 2 1/2 hours go by quickly. The tests aren't too hard, but you must study if you expect to do well in the lab.
Crazy Guy! Be prepared to be entertained! If you are annoied by teachers who enjoy thier job do not take this guy. He is passionate about what he does and I find that admorable! Bundy rocks!
Great teacher! Unlike other lecture classes you won't fall asleep with this guy! He is funny and he knows what he is talking about! You take lots of notes but its okay because you don't have to study from the textbook! The tests are hard but if you go to class and take notes it shouldn't be to bad!
He was a great professor and I really enjoyed the class. He does better "performing" in front of the class, rather than one on one with a student. He was hilarious though and made the time go by quickly. Make sure you get BOB...dont bother with the textbook. Good class and great professor.
Bundy is hilarious and makes learning a bit more fun.
Bundy is a great guy! For a class of 150+ he was not boring at all! He made biology fun to learn. Its not easy though! You have to study and you have to come to class! You don't need the textbook though! He gives you his own course outline which is great! And his notes are all on the test! I totally reccomend this guy! He's awesome!
bundy was a hilarious professor. i think i laughed every day in his class. you don't need the textbook just BOB the course outline. he is a interesting teacher but his tests are HARD. you have to study all the notes. his final exam is so easy though. overall i enjoyed this class and his fun personality!
So funny! He really wants you to do well and makes it impossible for you to not by his grading system. Sit in the front and take good notes. Print out the BOB course outline and take it to class. Tests aren't easy, but the final is and it replaces your lowest test grade. Highly recommend this professor!
Very good teacher; however, he tends to go on tangents where he thinks he is a comedian moreso than a teacher, which can be annoying when you are trying to get out of a night class early. The test are hard. YOU MUST study, print ALL of BOB, and attend class if you plan on doing well. If you have an A in the class, you don't hafta take the final.
Joe is quite the quirky guy. He has a vast knowledge of microbiology and it shows. He doesn't require you to answer the questions in the book, which is nice. BUT, I recommend doing so in order to study. The lab tests are difficult and comprehensive; in fact, more so than the lecture. Study more for this class than Robin's!
Very funny guy. Passionate and knowledgable. His tests are crazy hard so I recommend going to every lecture and take good notes. Puts his presentations on BB so its easier to study. Gives study guides. Read the book.
He is a GREAT lab instructor. If you don't understand he will help you. Just show that you care!
He encourages lots of questions and can admit when he doesn't know about a subject. He is entertaining and funny but still gets his point across. He also wants his students to do well. Many students seemed to complain about the exams but if you even skim the text for this class you will have no problems with his tests. Also, he quickly responds to
He was a good lab teacher. He did not go over the questions from the lab in class like Robin does, but I stayed the whole time and asked him questions I was concerned about and he was extremely helpful. He can be sarcastic, and he picks on people a lot, which sometimes causes pain to very high strung people. If you are sensitive to that, take Robin
Great vovice and hot, super hot
Great teacher...tells you everything you need to know for the test...easy "A" if you listen
Really easy if you just listen. The textbook wasn't required and he put all his notes on Blackboard; just fill in the missing blanks on the notes.
He's a little bit to get used to, but he's a nice guy and he knows his microbiology. I had him for lab and I heard his lab was a little harder than Maxwell's, but he will answer any questions you have - he'll try to make you get it first though. Lab tests are hard, but they are fair!
Easy A! Very little work, just go to class. Don't have to take the final exam as long as you have an A average on the other exams! He actually makes the class really interesting and funny.
I hate biology and he didn't make it any easier for me. I was struggling to focus in class because he is very spacey and likes to joke around, which is fine, but he just doesn't fit with the type of professor I needed. I ended up withdrawing and taking the class again. Bio is just not my thing; I'm more of a Chem person. We just didn't click.
He is a very good teacher, he does seem to space out in his sentences but overall he is pretty good. I really liked him and would take him again.
Not a fan. It's not that he's necessarily a bad professor, it just annoys me that he says that attendance isn't mandatory, yet will randomly decide at random points throughout the month to give you a grade for being present using your iClicker. My iClicker kept malfunctioning. He's very eccentric. But very willing to work with you.
He is a good professor, he gives A LOT of pop quizzes and that is where the majority of the points come from so you really need to be there and pay attention
Descent person, has a sense of humor, is punctual and consistent with material and teaching, replies to e-mails promptly, very helpful. If you want to succeed in his class, go to class EVERY DAY, take notes, homework, and reach out when needed. His tests are pretty difficult, so be prepared in that realm.
I decided to go ahead and submit my ratings for Bundy because I really enjoy his class. Yes, he is kind of cheesy with his jokes, but he really isn't out to make anyone fail. His tests are only difficult if you DON'T study and read over your notes. I recommend him 100%. great teacher! GO TO CLASS, though. I'm sure you'll be just fine. :)
Bundy was a great instructor, and has a good sense of humor! His test can be hard IF you don't study. But for the most part if you go to class and take good notes you'll do great!
Bundy is a great teacher. He has a good sense of humor and attention is easily held in his class. One thing though, is he does NOT announce when he has put homework up blackboard. So be on the lookout from DAY 1!!! As far as he tests, go to SIP and study YOUR NOTES!!!
All you have to do in this class is go to class and take good notes. He literally doesn't use the textbook at all, except to show you relevant diagrams. In studying for his tests, you literally just have to fill out the study guides well + study them and you will get at least a 90%.
Be prepared for lots of corny jokes from day 1. The number one thing to remember for this class is to take good notes. His tests are not based on the text but what he says in class. His tests and grading are pretty fair and straight forward. Enjoyed the class.
SO GREAT! You will look forward to this class. So many jokes and is extremely helpful. Rely on your notes for tests. He usually gives you the answer to one question per test, so READ the cover sheet he gives you!
Bundy, Bundy, Bundy, he has an interesting sense of humor in regards to the material. Everything in his lecture and lab classes are easy if you pay attention AND go to class. Also a helpful tip: print the review outline and follow along with it in class. Helps your notes & test grades tremendously.
He is an awesome teacher, has corny jokes but I loved it. I would take another class with him in a heartbeat. Even though it is not mandatory to come to class he does not post his powerpoints, so go.
Bundy is awesome He's so helpful and clear in his lectures. He also cuts the boring stuff with funny jokes. He's corny but it's cute considering he's so nerdy lol. I'm personally not great at biology but he made things easy to understand and encouraged questions. I would take him again in a heartbeat. Tests aren't bad either--questions are clear.
He is great teacher and all his tests are based on notes . he doest not use text book and he does not post powerpoint so basically rely on your notes for test.
Must spend a lot of time studying. I am not a science person, studied very hard and left the class with a C.
He does not go by the book so I would not recommend buying it. Attendance is not mandatory but his powerpoints are not posted online. Exams are based off of the notes you take in class. You must work hard and study a lot. Do take advantage of SIP sessions because they will be helpful.
NOTE: This review is from a biology nerd and someone who took this class and was not a freshman when I took it. I think Mr. Bundy needs to teach high school. I found his jokes God awful and his understanding of the complexities of biology void. His way of handling notes is also particularly annoying... be prepared to write down everything he says.
Bundy was very straightforward and his class is not hard if you pay attention is lecture and take notes. He doesn't provide his powerpoints but he does give study guides for his exams.
His lectures are very interesting and he makes them less boring by sliding in jokes here and there. I don't think there was one class where I did not laugh. He is a great professor and is great at answering questions in class or via email. He gave away test answers at SIP sessions and an answer or 2 in the actual tests! I highly recommend him!
Mr. Bundy a poor excuse for a teacher. He is not clear and gives you multiple topics at once it is hard to know what you will be tested on. He is confusing and has corny jokes that pertain to nothing in class. You only have few grades and if you miss the class I suggest SIP sessions or a tutor. Without any other help you need to take good notes or
He talks a lot and covers a lot during every lecture but if you ever have a question, you can go to him after class or during his office hours. He is very friendly and nice and answers any question you might have. He also lets you ask questions during exams.
Bundy was an awesome bio professor. He doesn't take attendance, but you have to go to class to get the notes. He doesn't post his powerpoints on canvas. Try not to base your notes strictly on the powerpoints and write what he says. Use the book to clarify. Watch out for the online hw, he doesn't post when it's due on canvas. Go to the SIP sessions.
Very easy class just to what the work and come to class easy A.
I loved Mr. Bundy he was very funny but his test difficult. His power points are mostly pictures so learn to write and listen quickly. His final exam was mostly picture, matching, and multiple choice which was very exciting. I would recommend taking him because he make sure you understand.
Professor Bundy was an okay professor. You will definitely need to study for this class; however, an A is for sure possible! His questions can be a bit tricky. Checking to see when homework is due is your responsibility; he will not baby you.
Professor Bundy was funny, but as a professor for an introductory level of biology, I would not suggest you take him. He is very lecture heavy and it is extremely hard to capture everything he is saying. His test have very tricky questions, you can't expect to just read his notes and pass. I would see if you could take BIO 111 instead.
Very condescending, seems slightly autistic. Hard as balls class, and I'm a good student.
Gives study guides, but MAYBE half of it is actually on the test. I studied for days for his tests and still never made higher than an 80. His lectures are boring and he sometimes makes inappropriate jokes in class that are just gross and make everyone uncomfortable. 10/10 WOULD NOT recommend taking his class.
Bundy is a good spirit all and all, but his teaching skills are out of control. The class is very lecture heavy, he does not post the powerpoints and most of the powerpoints are just pictures so you have to listen closely. I would not recommend this class to any incoming freshman. Hardest class I've had this semester
Bundy is lecture heavy, so I wouldn't recommend missing class. Tests are mainly based off of his study guides. Beware of mentionings of people and odd facts, they will be on the test.
Very difficult class to do well in. He doesn't take attendance but does not post his powerpoints online, so you will not see them unless you go to class. Makes inappropriate jokes which makes the class very uncomfortable.
Bundy doesn't post PowerPoints and his slides are mostly pictures. To pass, it is essential to go to class and write down everything he says (nearly impossible). This was the hardest class I have taken at UNCG.
Attendance isn't mandatory but his powerpoints are not on Canvas so you have to go to class to get the notes. You have a lot of random quizzes on canvas. He has a weird sense of humor but I liked it. Just have to put in effort to get a good grade. Don't buy the textbook, just rent it. You don't need the access code.
Worst professor Ive ever had. Hes rude, doesnt care about his students concerns, doesnt bother to help them or even reply to their emails, and is horrible teacher. Dont bother taking him for any class because youll regret it.
Does not care if students do well. DO NOT TAKE BUNDY IF YOU ARE BAD AT SCIENCE OR YOU ARE NOT AN AUDITORY LEARNER!!! Also he doesn't post slides online which does not help!
i would pick this man to teach every class until i graduate if possible. lectures are vital to the class, you go and you should pass.
Just show up and take good notes. Everything you need for the test comes out of his mouth and slides during the lecture (they are not on canvas). Entertaining with his terrible jokes and wacky personality.
I took this class in an online format and this professor was extremely inconsiderate for those who are new to online class. Does not respond to emails. Goofs off in the lecture which is fine but too much at times. Would only take again because I'm giving the benefit of the doubt but to those who take this class be cautious. Quite disappointing.
Dr. Bundy was really awesome! He was very funny and lab was super easy. If you do the work, you'll get an A.
Honestly the worst Professor Ive ever had. His only grades consist of 4 exams and 1 quiz that does nothing for your grade every other week. He constantly spews dumb jokes that arent even funny and have nothing to do with the class. He doesnt respond to emails and he claims an F average is not a bad average. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS.
Do not take this this course with Bundy. After our first exam he said that a 59% was a great class average with the top scores on the exam being a B which only 11% of people received. The lectures rarely actually prepare you for his exams either. Your grades will only come from four exams which are almost impossible to pass. STAY AWAY FROM BUNDY!!
Maybe 20% of the lecture material is on the exam, and I combed through every word of the textbook and barely got by with a B. He only talks about 3-4 main concepts and completely ignores all other information.
You teach yourself this course since he only covers a select few topics in lectures, and theres a lot of material in the book/in exams that he doesnt talk about in class.
exams are pretty much the only grades, and his lectures are very general and doesn't talk about a good bit of stuff on the tests. The tests will have random detailed questions instead of the main topics the lectures focused on.
He often wastes class time by telling irrelevant stories. For example, we were talking about how DNA works and he rambled off about Alex Trebek on Jeopardy. Also, the exam averages were 50-60% and he brags about how hard his class is.
He doesn't post the slides which in itself is fine, but I was in the ER and missed class and asked him for the slides, explaining, but he still said no.
It is very test heavy, but for us he had a point system to where if all of your assignment grades added up to x amount of points: you receive an automatic A and can exempt the final which I thought was pretty cool. I only went to lectures and I feel like he genuinely made lectures engaging and fun with side comments/comparisons. Just study a lot!
He's funny, but the lab is quite difficult: "study every word of the lab manual" type. Make sure you turn in extra credit at the precise second it's due.
I had Joseph Bundy for my BIO 111 Lab, and he was actually fun! he would make funny jokes about the labs we were doing that day in class. He is like this cool dad who tries and fit in with the younger crew. I like him his class was always enjoyable.
Mr . Bundy was very sweet , However he does get off topic a lot.I had him for Micro Lab. The test here are very difficult so just make sure you know everything.
Mr. Bundy is very interactive with students and makes the class enjoyable. BIO280 is the most difficult lab i've had to take (harder than A&P) but he made the class enjoyable. Lab tests are 60% of your overall grade making them weigh the heaviest. A LOT of material to study for (test 3 is the hardest). Learn to effectively study and you'll pass.
Bundy is not a good professor. He often seems he is not interested in MicroBio. He will often go on rants about how boring the content is and how he knows we all hate it. He jokes throughout the class so much, its hard to pay attention to material, which is VERY complicated. He does not post complete notes online and does not record lectures.
Took his Bio111 lab, attendance is sooo important. He's a funny guy but gets off-topic sometimes. His information is a bit cryptic and it makes me botch the lab sometimes but I'd take him again. Wish he explained content just a little faster.
I think he is a great professor! Yes his lectures are dragged a bit, but he makes his classes passable. His tests aren't hard if you take the time to study well. Attendance is mandatory because he does turgid questions randomly that you would want to get points for. He gives a great bonus point opportunity nearing the end of the semester.
