joe is the best. will help anyone who wants it, at anytime. a great teacher. do the homework! the material gets very challenging towards the end of semester. if you have to take calc, take joe!
Very Easy going, taught very well
I hate math, but i will take any math class if Joe is teaching it. He's the man!
Loved the class. I can't stand math as it is but he made the class really interesting. I'm glad he was my professor because he made all the problems easy to solve. If i was still @ CCC i would definately take another class with him.
Joe's the man, he's a very good teacher for those of you who want to try. It's very important you don't get behind on your work or it will kick your butt.
this is the best professor at camen county college. I took him the last semester of my associate degree at CCC .He was awesome thanks to him I finally passed the college algebra class. Good luck mister diako
Just show up and you'll receive an A. I can't understnad how they could call this a "college" class.
I took Prof. Diaco's class and found that the professor uses a great deal of math jargon, which would be great if I were a math major, but for non-math majors it made the class that much more difficult. The guy definitely knows his stuff, there's no doubt about that, but can he get you to know your stuff???
Excellent. He often offers supplemental review the day before an exam, on his own time. Easily the best prof here!
Professor diaco will change your life.. he was such a great teacher that one of my friend in his class changed his major from engineering to a math teacher just like diaco. if you have to take any math classes, take him. he is not only your teacher but your friend that cares for his students. He motivates you to do well in his class to get the gra
how much did he pay you to write this! Same as any other teacher at this college.
Took him in spring 07, and was a great teacher. CCC needs to make standards for hiring professor because 99% of them are HORRIBLE. Diaco is one of those few that stand out.
Good guy, ok teacher. Have a strong grasp of calc before taking him. he teaches super fast, but does give partial credit on tests. Not recommended for someone with weak math skills or someone taking calc for the first time.
Great teacher, he gave very good examples, and his tests were very fair as long as you studied. If you are going to take Calculus, do not rely only on the book you buy for the class... all the explanations seemed pretty vague to me.. ended up going on the web for better explanations most of the time
LOVE THIS MAN
Loved him too!!
This teacher is very helpful and personable! great teacher!
i've had a lot of miserable teachers at this fine establishment, and he's one of the better ones. it's a pretty easy class. do the homework and there's no way in hell you'll fail.
Good teacher. Cares about the students and isn't afraid to be honest. One of few there that I can say I liked as a person and as a teacher. Strongly recommend this guy for stat.
He's definately one of the best. He's always around if you need him and will even go above and beyond and help you with other classes your takin if that prof. happens to be a moron. I can't wait to take him again!
He is a excellent professor, and he love his profession, and it show in his style of teaching. He actually made math for liberal arts a fun class . He has a way of sparking a person interst. Having said all of that, I failed to mention he is so Handsome!!!!!!!!!!! with pretty eyes and smile.Ummmm, Harriet F.
Had him for Math for Liberal Arts, very nice guy, he's a little fast sometimes but he is passionate and fun. Very Liberal, and open minded, all in all Great teacher and I'm NOT good at Math. But if you study and do your homework, you'll be fine.
Great guy I had him for Math for Liberal Arts. He's very passionate, very liberal, and he cares about his students. Study and do your homework and you'll do fine. He's one of the best at CCC. I'm not good at Math at all, and I did well. Plus he's not bad on the eye either!
This guy is a math genius and he's HOT, too. He is soooo helpful. He goes far out of his way to help his students, and his classes move at a good pace. Even though Calc II is a tough subject, this guy makes going to class fun. He has a lot of energy and passion in front of the class.
he knows his stuff pretty well i guess! skips lotta steps while solving a prob. laughs on his own mistakes, which makes him extra cute! jst keep up wid ur home work and u will do gud in his class!
Amazing teacher! Great at what he does, gives very clear notes and review sheets. Tests are very fair and he is always willing to help. Even if you hate math you will love his class. One of the few awesome teachers at CCC.
Professor Diaco is awesome... He helped me forget all the corrupted Hudgings information so he could teach it right.A++
ABSOLUTELY LOVED HIM, my favorite class by far at CCC, an amazing teacher & really knows his stuff, he makes class really fun & interesting and I always looked forward to it.
Fun to attend class. Learned a lot of ways to defend yourself.
Joe is awesome! The material is VERY DIFFICULT but he is very patient and willing to give as much help as needed. He is VERY fair and actually wants you pass!! He is also funny and makes Statistics as tolerable as it could possibly be..thanks Joe!!
Great Professor!! Knows his stuff and is patient with the students who are not getting the material. If taking a Math class, take him. Makes learning fun.
Great teacher. Strict with his teaching policy. He drops your lowest grade. Calc is tough to begin with but his examples help a lot along with his study guides. Tests are very difficult. I got a B in his college algebra class and a C in his Applied Calculus class. We used WebAssign to do our homework on and that website was not good! Caused
He moves very fast so you have to rely on reading the books and your own study skills but he does make the class very interersting. He is also very fair with grades and gives lots of extra help.
Everybody loves this guy. Fair grading.
He's awesome!!! I like him very much ;) He gives out extra credits~ Drop the lowest quiz and test!~ He gives out notes which helps a lot!! Do several examples on the SAME question!~ Answers questions after class and explain things clearly~ Start off topics which is not included in the course but he thinks that you are gonna need them~ TAKE HIM!!!
Prof D is a SUPER NICE guy. He really cares if you do well, and will do everything in his power to help. Very generous with partial grading (TIP: DO NOT LEAVE TEST ANSWERS BLANK). He will give partial credit for trying, even if it's wrong. Gives extra credit on tests, drops a test and/or makes final optional. Loved him! And he's CUTE too!
Joe is one of the best profs I've ever had. Passionate about the subject, well-read on the techniques taught, and super helpful. As an added bonus, he is sizzling hot! The textbook was really only used for the final test, which was open book. Make sure you attend every class and you will get an excellent grade.
Best teacher I have ever had. Never met a teacher so passionate about his students and the subject before I met Joe. Such an honor to be his student and learn from him. So intelligent and fair. I always look forward to Diaco's class. He has made such an impact on how I feel about math.
I took Diaco's 5 week Calculus class. It was one of the hardest classes I ever took but not because of the professor, but because it was Calculus! This is normally a 15 week class that has been condensed to 5. Don't expect any down time. Don't be lazy, do your homework, get a study group together and meet everyday and you will make it through.
i managed a B but that was my own hard work and studying had to go to tutoring a lot. hes helpful, helps outside of class. hes really nice but moves way too fast and hands out packets that are not clear. u can pass his class but have to work hard and a lot has to be done on your own. drops lowest test. has online hw. overall hes good dont slack off
Awesome teacher pretty much the coolest one i have this semester
He is the best professor I have had since attending CCC. He is extremely helpful and easily reached by email or by office hours. I currently hold an A in the class because I study and do the homework. That is all you have to do (which is what college students should be doing). I hated math until I had Professor Diaco. HE IS AWESOME!!!!
Amazing professor who is eager to teach his students and makes sure they pass. Invites questions and comments and encourgaes participation. Really makes you understand the concept. Goes fast though but slows down to answer every question.
Prof Diaco is a very nice guy, wants to help his students. BUT he moves very fast during examples and it is very difficult to keep up with what he is doing while trying to write notes. Do not take prof D without a good base knowledge.
incredible professor...Knows his stuff..Great handouts...test reviews...homework sheets...tons of examples...but be prepared..its not an easy class...I strugglesd but He helped me find a great tutor and he worked with me as well..I took it Summer session 1 which I do not suggest unless you are into intense studying all day and all night...A+++
Diaco is the most inspirational, amazing teacher I have ever had. He wants more than anything for his students to succeed. He is challenging and moves fast but he is so down to earth, willing to help, and SO fair when it comes to everything. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PROFESSOR! he seriously changed my life and the way i view math
This professor knows his stuff but his teaching skills are not that great for anyone who is not good at math. He is a cool guy and will attempt to help but he is just not easy to follow. He once gave a test that everyone failed! if you do take his class pay more attention to the book than him. Good luck :(
I had to take this class and honestly the best thing of it was the teacher. lol He is VERY but VEEEERY good looking. anyway i ended up dropping the class cause if at the beginning of the semester you dont get what he says... U will definitely fail..
He is really easy to get along with. He makes math fun.
applied calc. Diaco is an awesome teacher. if he thinks you don't understand something he takes a lot of time to go over. If not he makes himself very available. gives practice tests that help a lot for the actual test. do the hw and study and you should be able to get a good grade no problem. he also gives extra points if he knows you try.
If Diaco is teaching this course, TAKE IT WITH HIM! He really laid back and makes CalcII enjoyable. The only downside is the Maple Project that he assigns. Other than that, he's an awesome and knowledgeable guy. Oh, and he's not that bad on the eyes. CalcII is hard, but Diaco tries to make it as simple as possible. 4/ 5 stars to the class, and him.
Diaco is so cool. He's really good at teaching and he seems so passionate when he's teaching but in a cool way. If you ask him a question, he helps you out even during his office hours. Sometimes he goes off topic but he gets back on track so it's cool. Take him because he's good!
Great professor, very responsive to students questions and concerns. Ultimately, hope he took notice of my work ethic and effort in the class to get at least C in the class.
Professor D was a great instructor to have for this course. He knows his stuff in and out and was able to help me (who is just bad at math in general) achieve a high grade in a hard course.
pretty awesome
Not a good teacher. He puts stuff on a projector and just reads from it. He understands how to do problems but doesn't understand the theory behind the math. Not clear and very self absorbed. The good side is that his tests are curved like crazy and you can literally not get a single problem right and partial credit will get you an 80.
This is the best professor that I've ever had in this college. You can ask questions at any time during class and he'll explain any concept that you have trouble with until you finally understand it. Tests are difficult but grading is very fair. If you wish to truly understand the subject and are interested in it, Diaco is the teacher to take.
I've had Professor Diaco for a MATH 120, a self defense, and a MATH 140 class. The MATH 120 class was somewhat easy to understand. Some of the problems he would give were difficult to solve. He made the self defense class easy and fun. The MATH 140 class, however, was more difficult to pass and caused me to withdraw. He dos come off self absorbed.
He is very smarts and helpful. I had him for Calc 1, and thats when I decided to major in mathematics. He knows his stuffs . his HM is all due the end of the semester.I would absolutely take him again!!
He is a really great guy and really does truly care for his students and their success. The homework was a bit of a pain and included material that was not discussed in class or was relevant to testing. He gives out a review sheet for the test and does his best to stick to it. I earned an A and worked incredibly hard for it but it was worth it.
He was the best math teacher I have ever met. He know his stuff that makes you get interested in math eventhough you're not in math major. He is not easy teacher but he definitely will help you on question you have problem. He is awesome!!!
He is a really cool guy and you can tell he has a real passion for math. When I felt weak in an area, Prof Diaco was a big help during his office hours. Even though his tests were challenging, his grading was generous, and he gave a lot of extra credit opportunities. I would definitely recommend taking Diaco if you can.
He is a very nice guy, with a great attitude for being a teacher. Makes class interesting, rather than boring. However, he does not explain the math topics clear. For exmaple, he'll teach us a problem like 2+2 and tell us how we got the answer; however, the homework will be what's 2+2/3x4. At times, its like he expects you to know what he's saying
Statistics is a challenging course. This was my second bite at the apple. Joe is a calming influence in a class that breeds anxiety like bunnies joe's demeanor was helpful. His printed notes cut to the chase, making this dense material seem almost understandable. The calculations may not stay with me, but I now understand the underlying concepts
This professors rating really shows that you have to take the ratings on this site with a grain of salt. I'm not very good at math but have always passed with at least a B grade. Not in this class, even with his crazy curves. He has to curve it because no one would pass if he didn't. He always showed up late and doesn't teach well at all.
He is extremely laid back and often goes on funny tangents. Most of what he does lectures on are not on the test. However, he does give out review study packets and then will give a solutions guide. I The tests are pretty hard. I only studied the solutions guides and I got an A. Likes: Martial Arts, Guns, and teachers not having a dress code. Hot;)
Great teacher, makes his class interesting unlike other professors. However, I found his exams to be a bit difficult.
Professor Diaco is a little unorthodox in his lecturing style, while he does work out some problems on the board the majority of his lecture is recited from printed notes. Some like this some don't, just be prepared for it. He is a very casual professor and does not take himself too seriously. He wants his students to succeed so that's a plus.
great professor. he really knows his stuff. his class isn't easy but if you study and ask questions you will be fine. he is a very nice, laid back guy and is always willing to help. he really cares about his students and their grades. I would definitely recommend taking diaco if you can.
He's a very nice professor, he's intelligent, helpful and funny. His exams rarely exemplify his review tests. In other words: what you do on the review guide might not show up on the exam. On the exams he twists the problems and kind of leaves you in the blank about how to solve it. Somethings on the exam you don't do in class.
He was eager to help, although not the best at intuiting class comprehension. He is very responsive to questions. I did not like it when he got off topic and talked about gun ownership, sake, etc, but most of the students found this entertaining and I think it helped people open up and ask him questions, which is his strongest point.
Great professor and great guy overall. Class is very difficult and you must do the homework and ask questions in order to get a decent grade. Tests are extremely difficult. He gets off topic easy and doesn't show all of his steps when he does examples on the board. Overall, I would take any math class taught by diaco.
Reads off his own notes a lot. Doesn't show much of his steps, expects you to fill in the blanks. In class you can expect loads of practice problems, he didn't really mention how/why things worked. You need to do the homework and lots of studying/teach yourself the material. He's a great guy though. He genuinely cares and wants you to succeed.
Diaco is the man. Never use this site but had to give him credit, where credit is due. Not a math guy and never will be but still enjoyed his class. Got to put in the time. Study, know yourself, and ask for help when needed and you'll succeed. It is calc and there is no way around it. Great partial credit. review does not replace independent study.
Diaco is hands down the best math professor I've ever taken. He cares about his students, and wants them to pass. Some of the reviews say that his tests are difficult, but honestly, just make sure you're doing the online homework prior. He gives you partial credit and even an extra credit question at the end. Highly, highly recommend taking him.
Professor Diaco is one of the best math professors I've ever had. I took his summer Calc III course and it was easily the most fun and informative class I've ever taken. If you do all of the homework that he suggests, you will be absolutely fine on the tests. Professor Disco is very friendly and outgoing, and I felt comfortable asking questions.
Good teacher
He will not carry his student along when teaching. He only attend and pay more attention to those he think that knows what is teaching. He believe the student should know it by now. He notes are not clear enough to back up what is teaching. The biggest of it all he dose not have time to help anybody dont getting it. Always in a hurry to go.
I took this class in 2005 and I still remember this professor. He was quite hot so that can be distracting at times but a good lesson in focus. ;-) The best part of this class is that I had an "A" average so I got to skip the final. It seemed challenging but not hard. The material is challenging. Perhaps there are times he could have slowed down.
Diaco is a cool teacher, just do the online homework and pay attention in class because he gives you a lot of examples.
great professor and a great person overall. Tests are tough but you will be fine if you have a true understanding of the material you will be fine.
Joe Diaco is a great teacher and crazy intelligent when it comes to math. He is super helpful inside of the classroom & out, and truly wants his students to succeed. I was so nervous to take statistics but with the help of his notes, explaination & by completing all of my online homework, I got an A. Take him if it's an option!!! He's a great guy.
Joe is an awesome teacher for statistics and likely everything else he teaches. He spends the right amount of time on each section for you to learn and if you need clarification he doesn't hesitate to help. It's easy to see that he genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. The fact that he's very intelligent is another huge plus
Keeping up with the homework is key.. Prof. Diaco is very helpful and has a great teaching style. He is grounded in reality unlike a lot of mathematics professors. His lectures make statistics much easier to understand.
not sure how other calc 1 classes go, but this was insane. I couldn't believe how much material was taught in each class. Just make sure you complete each sections homework before the next section is assigned. Over all he's a great guy.
I love Diaco. If I had to take another math class, I would take him in a heartbeat. YES, statistics is hard. YES, it requires alot of work. But Diaco made it bearable. I actually looked forward to class. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE THE ONLINE HOMEWORK. If you can do the homework, you can pass the test because the homework is way harder than his tests.
Mr. Diaco made my Stats class bearable. I received a D for taking it online, and I got a C in Mr. Diaco's class, and I earned it fairly. If you show up to class, take notes, as questions, you will be in great shape. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is very approachable & loves to help his students.. Would definitely recommend!
Great teacher who really wants his students to pass. Calculus is a difficult subject, but he really tries to help students understand it. When I say understand it, I dont just mean remember how to solve a problem. I really mean understand what youre doing and why. Also, just an all around great guy.
He is the best Professor and knowledgeable in mathematics. If you're in math or engineering major. Take Diaco and his courses will extremely help you on your 4 years university program for sure.
Great guy. He made calc III bearble. Do the homework. You'll do well.
Horrible
A great character, not such a great teacher. He does not work to connect with any students, and does not work to fit their needs. He teaches information and expects you to understand and already know most it. Information not taught, just told. An EXCESSIVE amount of homework is assigned. Not recommend teacher.
My main gripe about him is that he gives explanations to easy examples and then assigns us homework with extremely hard examples with no help. It's like learning to drive with an automatic car and then being expected to operate a semi truck on the first try. The hard examples should be explained, not the easy ones... Get ready to read a lot.
BEWARE! If you arent good at math, do not take this Professor. His lectures (Pre-Recorded Videos) are awful and he only explains the easiest examples and concepts, then assigns insane amounts of homework with extraordinarily difficult problems. Overall not a fan, and would definitely never take again. Do not take!
everything is in the hw
I had him for calc 2. Tests were based on the hw, it's a hard class and requires a lot of studying/practice. The tutoring center helped me a lot with filling in the gaps in understanding. Prof Diaco is very supportive and really a nice guy though! Always willing to help and answer questions and goes above and beyond for his students.
Subject matter can be hard, but he's not a harsh grader. He lets you bring in a card with equations on the exams. Projects are basically just easy 100s.
Great professor but his calc 1 class had an absurd amount of homework. Every month there would be anywhere from 40-80 hours of homework excluding test reviews, I found this number absurd considering I'm decently intelligent. I ended up not doing most of the homework and so my grade there and on tests took a hit, just beware of the time commitment.
Professor Diaco was an excellent professor. One thing that made him good was whenever we were working on a concept he would explained why it was important or where the concept derived from. He didn't want us to think we were just doing it to do it. If you put the work in and go to tutoring and do the homework you will do fine.
The notes in his lectures are four years old, he doesn't do any of the algebra/work during the lectures as he is just reading the notes rather than actually teaching you any of it. It is an awful course that is outdated and he himself is uninspiring as a teacher and it makes you feel like you don't wanna learn just like he isn't bothered to teach
Calc 1 with this prof requires a major time commitment. Definitely use unstuckstudy and the free textbook to supplement the heavy workload. Stay engaged in class for the best chance of success.
Difficult class but teacher is good at explaining concepts and uses. Consider attending every class and taking notes they will be useful for tests
