Very funny professor. Likes to make jokes, tell stories in class. But, very messy + disorganized notes (+ laptop desktop). Organize the notes on your own! He posts notes + handouts on SAKAI. Don't need book, just need Diet Analysis software you can borrow from a classmate. Class is pretty amusing; his analogies aren't always the best, but he tries.

Dr. Dixon is one of the best teachers out there... sure he needs to get more organized... but he knows his stuff, and has strong interest in this subject. Read the book, read his slides, go to class(only for the pop quizzes he gives) and you are golden... he does talk a lot about his Dixon cycle... you'll know what that is eventually. Great course

Very nice guy, cool class, and learned alot. Read the book, but mostly his ppts, which have random, unnecessary slides that he thinks we love. There are 5 random in class quizzes (mostly opinions and open ntbk), 3 non cumul. exams and a cumul. final. The exams aren't difficult, they're sometimes tricky, but they're never out of the blue questions.

This man might be my favorite person on the planet. he genuinely cares for every student, and he will push off deadlines as far as possible just for one student who didn't do it on time. I haven't gone to class all semester, I just made sure to learn the material prior to the tests and still did insanely well. every quiz he gives is on Quizlet

Amazing professor! One of the very few who actually takes students into consideration & their schedules. He pushed back deadlines multiple times just so a few students could submit it and get a good grade. Very easy assignments/quizzes & 1 project which was super easy too! Class was in person but he gave exams online open book to make it easier!

Dixon is the nicest professor I have ever had. Actually cares about students and wants to see them succeed. Grade is based off lecture quizzes and exams and one project which was fairly easy. As long as you stay on top of your work (which isn't a lot) you should get an A in this course with Dixon.

This has been my favorite professor at Rutgers so far! Although attendance counts, he isn't super strict about it. He is also super understanding about keeping flexible deadlines for work, and he truly tries to always help his students and you can tell he cares.

Nice guy, class wasn't terrible, I just feel like if you are not a nutrition major and are just trying to fulfill your NS credits there are much easier classes to take than this one. His lectures are disorganized and if you are not a science person to begin with get ready to be confused.

This year was different as the exams were in person compared to online. One exam was online due to the strike this year, but generally, be prepared to study for exams 1 and 2 most people did poorly on the first exam. The final was easy. Writing assignments are easy and lecture quizzes as well as attendance quizzes are very easy. Overall easy class

Class is very definition memorization heavy. If you are interested in nutrition, you'll likely enjoy the class, if your looking for an easy A for NS requirement there are better options. Dixon is super nice and accommodating. His lectures are slightly all over the place but the class overall is light. He recommends reading but it's not necessary.

I would recommend for fulfilling NS/CCO but that's about it. Following along with his lectures is very hard as he goes off track frequently, and his slides are a jumbled mess!!!!!!

An easy A for a CCO if you're willing to study a little extra.

Don't bother to stress over deadlines as a majority of the time they will get pushed back a week. Lecture slides are unorganized and hard to understand. Required to purchase two textbooks, one written by himself. Constantly self inserts himself in anything, including his published textbook and exams. Learned more about himself than nutrition.

Dixon's presentation of material is too cluttered/detailed. Each lecture includes 3 PPTS, all 80+ slides. He doesn't stop and review each slide, glosses over them, says "this is important," and goes to the next slide. His exams are long, difficult, and hard to study for because 1) he doesn't teach well and 2) his review materials are nonsensical.

Professor Dixon does a good job of getting straight-to-the-point lectures & offers extra help via office hours.
