Hogan is the best professor you will find at CTC. He gives all the notes on the overhead, all you have to do is pay attention. If you have an opportunity to take a class with him don't hesitate you will enjoy the class and if you do the work you should get an 'A'

4 cj classes with him. best professor at ctc, hands down. his classes prepared me for law school better than any others. they require work, but his guidance is unmatched.

He's a really cool professor, and his lectures keep you interested. Jot down the important parts (they're usually marked), and then you have the test answers in your notes. He requires weekly assignments from the book, but they're easy A's. Great class, highly recommended!!

I took 2 of his classes and he is very warped- The classes are good but I suppose I just dont agree on how he does things. He LOVES to try and break people. not very understanding at all.. but the classes were ok if you study all the time.

Mr. Hogan is no doubt the best teacher at CTC. I highly recommend his class to people who truly want to learn about Criminal Justice. He requires alot of work and studying, but you'll learn more than with anyone else. I've taken all of his classes, I wish I could take more! HIGHLY RECOMENDED!

Very informative teacher. Very colorful and provided great lessons on what needed to be learned in the field. Exams can be tough but, he makes studying easy if you take notes and pay attention. Very helpful and will not let you down, do not be afraid to ask any questions. I have enjoyed my time with him and will continue to do so in future classes.

Hogan was a great professor. His homework assignments pertain to the class and are helpful to the students for studying. He is a very fair in grading. I thought I would have problems with memorizing the information however; he inplants it through the lecture and I still have the stats in my brain.

Mr. Hogan is a good instructor! He has a passion for what he is teaching and very, very passionate about satistics (a lot of numbers. Read material, do the homework, take notes, be on time, take part in class decussions, and you will pass his class. I enjoyed his class.

Mr hogan is one of the best criminal justice teacher in the central texas area he gave very little home work and care about his student to pass. Attendance class is a most if you want to pass because he gave notes that come right from the tests that you may not cant get by reading the book so if you do take his class be ready to take a lot of notes

Mr. Hogan brings excitment and a passion to the class you can't help but get into it and love what you do. Makes me anticipate when i can put the skills learned to use. Be on time, don't sleep and take notes and you will do great. And always ask questions.

This is a challenging class, but if you put lots of motivtion, you will make a great grade! The instructors material will stick to you, this instructor is very good in teaching the material.

Mr. Hogan is a great instructor who provides valuable and timely feedback. I took the Into to Criminal Justice Course on-line and it was great. This was my first college class to take and thanks to Mr. Hogan, I am signing up for more classes. Being an on-line course you must be disciplined enough to keep up with your weekly assignments.

This was one of my first online college course. Professor Hogan is a true professional and a very supportive teacher. The assignments take effort, but you will learn from them. Criminal Justice is my career field and this class lined up with it very well.

I took Mr Hogan when he was still teaching at the campus, LOVED his classes so much, and I learned a lot! Ever since I took intro with him, I understand every other class that follows! Too bad he doesn't teach on campus anymore, he was the best and is the teacher!

His class is alot of work. However do not let that discourage you he sets out clear guidelines of what is expected and is very helpful. Ultimately you will learn alot from this clasd he will help you in any way you can. He also offers lots of opportunity for extra credit!! Great class I wish I could take him for all of my CRIJ classes!

Mr Hogan was very helpful throughout the course. If I ever had a question, I had a reply usually within a couple of hours even on the weekends.The course isn't terribly hard,just requires a some time. I took this class and more while working as a full time soldier.Also,extra time & work = extra pts.

THis class was great. I have worked in the CJ field for a long time. This professor stretched my abilities and by the assignments furthered my knowledge of the CJ system. Enjoyed it alot. I encourage everyone to take his class. Very beneficial.

I enjoyed this course and I took it upon myself to attempt most of the extra credit that was provided through the lessons..its overwhelming at first because every lesson has two chapters with 2 assignments to complete-but other than that the teacher is awesome and clear!

This was a very good class that enables you to discover the different aspects of the criminal justice world. I am a soldier in the Army. This class would be very helpful for other soldiers like me that are looking for another career after the military. This class was easy as long as you put the effort in to learning the material.

Great instructor and very understanding. I was moving and had a baby during his course and he was very understanding. There was quite a bit of work but nothing unreasonable.

Great professor. You earn what you put out. He will make you think. Anyone who can articulate their thoughts in a well organized written manner should do well in this class. Don't take his class if you expect it easy. He is not hard, but he will make you work for whatever you get.

As a deployed soldier, this class was bearable to complete being in Afghanistan. Mr. Hogan is very helpful and worked with me a lot. Great teacher. Don't expect easy, he expects a lot out of you but it is not too difficult to accomplish.

Professor Hogan is one of the best professors I've had. It was an online course, but you felt like you were in the classroom with him. He answers questions and gives feedback in a timely manner. It seems a bit overwhelming at first, but the work is not difficult. I would definitely take a class with him again.

I took this class and rather enjoyed it. In order to do great in the class you must read the book. You must do the research that is associated with this class. The instructor was very prompt in getting back to you if you had a question and if you couldn't get the work to him in time would always work with the students if you kept in contact him.

I was nervous taking an online course, but from the start Prof. Hogan made everything clear and easy to understand. I am hoping all my future online experiences are like this. An excellent and very knowledgeable instructor.

I was nervous before taking this class as I did not know what to expect. Despite the nervousness Joseph Hogan is once of the best online professor I've had. He's class can be challenging when your work is not up to his expectations, however, he's willingness to teach and mold you to a better student makes up for it. Be sure to read the book!

Professor Hogan is a very Clear, helpful and best Professor I have had at CTC (online). He replies very quickly to any questions, and if there is any error in lessons he lets you correct them, and lets you know what part you need to correct. Test were fair, and all open book. He was an excellent instructor who wants to see his students succeed. By no means is the class a walk in the park but you are given ample opportunities to earn extra credit if your assignment and test scores do not satisfy you. Professor Hogan constantly kept his students updated on grades and gave many opportunities for extra credit. The class is easy as you do the work on time. It' s a lot of work but mostly research on the internet, and you hardly have to use the book maybe just for test.

Excellent Professor. This is by far one of the best courses that I have taken online. I enjoyed every minute of it from the students who did not try hard enough to the professor who was actively engaged with them. This instructor really helps you achieve by giving you a chance to correct your mistakes and learn from them. Was very knowledgeable.

Pay attention to the syllabus and follow it. He is a tough grader, but he expects college level work. He communicates frequently with the class and students within 12 hours. Be thorough on your work and put in the effort. And do not forget to put websites you viewed for EVERYTHING.

I was impressed by the way everything was organized and quickly graded. I'm glad I took his online course for criminal justice because I really learned more than what I expected to from this class. If you want a good grade you have to turn in quality work ahead of schedule. He is willing to accept extra credit if you need to make up points.

Mr. Hogan was very accessible for any questions I had. I am an active duty sailor that had some trouble with time management from going out to sea during my class. This isn't anything new for Mr. Hogan. He didn't hesitate to make my worries, disappear. Mr. Hogan and his full devotion to his students, made me more motivated to achieve an A.

This was my first online class and I have to say this teacher was amazing! He was very helpful and he was very encouraging. I can only hope that my future teachers will be just as nice as him!

I took the 8-week online class. Professor Hogan gives good grades if you put in the work and do what is required. Make sure all assignments are completed even if you've already achieved an A. There are weekly discussions and assignments, 4 exams and 1 research paper. The class was very interesting and he makes sure you learn the topics.

Mr. Hogan helped me so much throughout this course and semester. I thank him for everything that he helped me with. He gives very clear expectations of assignments. Will let you retake if you need and gives extra credit if needed. But his class is easy, yet very educational and informative. This professor will make you work for you grade! However, he does not just tell you that you need to be better, but guides you and develops you into a critical thinker. Professor Hogan is the best I've had. Listen to the feedback he gives and you will finish the course with an A+. There is a research paper due but it is very easy to pass if you start early. Professor Hogan has teaching this course down to a science. That is especially important for those taking CRIJ 1301 as their first course in the Criminal Justice curriculum. Be prepared to conduct proper research and submit well informed answers, even on discussion boards. He grades tougher than average, but grants extra credit for thoughtful work.

Really knowledgeable on the subject. Cares about soldiers and is very understanding when it comes to training. Cares about participation, very important being online and still getting feedback. Actually cares about you in the class and keeps you in check if you aren't meeting standards. Awesome Professor overall.

The Tests were hard for me with some material I didn't remember from the Textbook, but with the other grades and extra credit, I still received an A. Mostly paragraph answered and he likes opinions as long as you can support them! Let' you use web for answers on HW. Tests are not open book. He cares about his students and will help if needed. Good!

This professor has multiple qualifications and experience. He expects good communication and will do the same for you. He offers extra credit and bonus incentives for going above and beyond. If you have an emergency, he is willing to work with you as long as you can show him good work ethic and communicate.

By far my favorite Instructor, very informative, understanding and is a veteran. the Crij1301 course i just finished was amazing and was the perfect introduction i needed. This guy is awesome and knows exactly what he is taking about.

Professor Hogan was very engaged with the class. Out of the 5 courses I took, he was the only one who actually communicated with me, provided feedback, and explained the reasons behind the grades I received. This made taking an online class much easier, as he set me up for success. I didn't feel like I was going through this course alone.

He is very clear about what is happening in class. He maintains an open line of communication. He is easy to contact. He gives feedback on every single assignment. He asks for outside sources, and I think that helped improve my writing and research skills. He is reasonable, but a lot happens quickly. You are responsible for keeping up.

Professor does not care about the ammount of min. words used in an assignment or discussion post. He cares about quality over quantity. Very understanding if you come fwd with a situation that might hinder the on time progress. I would choose this professor again.

Professor Hoagen is great! This online course was challenging but rewarding. There is a significant about of reading and writing, but you will learn a lot from it. The professor gives helpful feedback, responds quickly to Blackboard messages, and offers extra credit opportunities. It takes effort and good time management, but the work pays off.
