Great teacher! He was available to answer any questions and really wanted his students to succeed. He was hilarious and made boring subjects fun. Would recommend taking his course for UK core.

One of the best teachers I've had since coming to Kentucky, even though it was just for core classes. He is willing to help you whenever necessary. His lectures and interesting to listen to and he works hard to make them relatable. Papers aren't difficult and there are few to no tests.

Mr. Martin was my first professor my first semester of freshman year, he really made me look forward to coming to class and has been a friend as well as a professor. I was actually becoming sad knowing I wasn't going to have him anymore. If you participate and try with your work he will make sure you succeed.

By far my favorite proffesor at UK. Took him two semesters in row. Always helpful and cares about you and your success in this class as well as at UK. You do have to work in this course to receive the grade you want but he makes it more than possible. I would recommend him to anyone and take him every semester if I could!

I took Mr. Martin two semesters in a row because I enjoyed his class so much. His lectures were incredibly organized and easy to follow. He used humor to make the class more fun. He was well respected by students because he was approachable and made and effort to know each of his students. He was incredibly helpful and by far my favorite professor.

I had Joe Martin for both CIS110 and 111. I focused my whole schedule around having him again for a second semester. He responds to emails quickly, which is hard to find in college. He will do anything to see you succeed and it's so nice to have this kind of support from a professor. Thoroughly enjoy his classes- he makes them very interesting!

Joe Martin is the coolest guy. He responds to emails at lighting speed and truly cares about all his students and empathizes with them. Since this is an accelerated course the workload can get a little heavy, but Martin makes it less overwhelming.I highly recommend the class!

He was by far my favorite professor. He was very kind, he even tried to give me $20 been I stupidly (and my own fault) had to buy an online service to do an assignment. He takes it seriously but it was a very do-able class. He is very funny and really cares about his students. His feedback on my speeches is my favorite. He's overall such a kind guy

CIS 112 was by far my hardest and worst class this semester. Mr. Martin has no say in what assignments we have to do because that's all up to the coordinator, but he at least tries to make class somewhat entertaining. So, if you have to take CIS, you might as well take it with him. He's a rather easy grader and he always wants to help.

He genuinely cares about his students and helps them improve the skills the lack. He doesn't have any say over the assignments, but he makes class interesting and is obviously passionate about teaching.

Professor Martin is by far my favorite teacher! His lectures are very interesting and fun, and his class is relatively easy. Attendance is required, but if you show up and do your work outside of class, you should get an A. He is also very respectful and makes an effort to get to know all of his students. I would take him any chance you get!

Hands down my favorite professor ever! Martin makes his lectures super funny and engaging. Attendance is mandatory to pass, but class is fun so I did't mind going. There is a lot of public speaking in both CIS 110 and 111, but the classroom size is small, so it isn't too bad. Wish Martin taught more classes so I could take him again. Great class.

Excellence

Anyone should feel lucky to have this professor. He'll make you feel that you belong on the first day of class, and his enthusiasm and weird (but mostly funny) jokes and puns in his PowerPoints last all semester. Good idea to have him for an early class, provides a great pick-me-up in the morning.

By far the best professor at this university, and this university is huge so that says a lot! His classes constantly get booked fast so its hard getting in. Funny, caring, reasonable grader(you'll get a good grade usually)and truly teaches material well. I'm NOT a morning person but even if you have him at 8 am you truly won't mind it AT ALL.

If any of Joe Martin's bosses are looking at this or looking at his ratings, this man deserves a raise!!! Best guy to work at this university. Because of him I switched to become a com major and now will pursue my PhD in communications. Truly an asset to this university and has an impact on each and every student

Honestly, truly this man is iconic. He cares about his students, his lectures are fun, and you engage alot in the class as well. If you show that you actually are putting in effort, and make sure you keep up with your work you're gonna get an A no matter what.

Easily the best professor at UK. He was able to help my public speaking and writing skills significantly provided such great feedback for essays and makes you feel super comfortable when public speaking. Aside from his teaching hes literally the nicest ever as well. Genuinely cares so much about his students wellbeing and wants them to succeed.

Overall, ICT200 would be really boring without Joe Martin. He is a super genuine man who cares about his students. He is really into the class and you can tell that he enjoys what he's teaching. He grades well and gives great feedback, he's also really easy to talk to and understanding. There is work but he gives time to work in and out of class.

GREATEST EVER. Dr. Martin is so personable, caring, and intelligent. As far as him as a person, the best there is by far. He cares about his students, and wants them to participate. When you do, the lectures become more fun, and the class covers interesting topics. The coursework is not difficult, as long as you make an effort, an A is attainable.
