He is a great teacher. I took his 1301 & 1302 class and it was easy. Read what you have to do the writing and he'll pass you.

This is definitely a good teacher. Cool, easy going, and never a bore. I took him for a mini-term after Fall sem. and passed with no problem. He was always brief and clear about all subject material and demanded very little from the students. An A if you do as asked, an F if you fail to comply with his simple lesson plan. Reward yourself.....

I didn't learn anything and we bought 2 books that never got used except for a little reading. He is an easy A that is for sure. You will write alot of essays. BORING! He picks topics that are really hard to write 1500 words about. He thought he was funny, and told alot of jokes. If you want a very easy A he is the right teacher.

Awesome teacher, YOU DO LEARN! but its a real easy class there really is no way to fail, very flexible will work with you all in all a pretty stand up guy. ive taken him for my comp 1 n 2 and my intro to humannities and will be taking him for my fiction class...highly recommend this guy!

He always cancels class and shows up late...he makes alot of jokes...great guy...really really easy class...grades easy...take him if you want an A...but if your an english major dont take him haha...i hardly learned anything

I took him for Comp 1 & 2, and for English literature. He is very helpful and understanding. The class itself is very interesting and so are the essay prompts. I definitely recommend his class.

Take Mr. McDade! He is a great teacher, best teacher I have taken at HCC. Super easy & funny. Mr. McDade is worth the drive, someone in my class actually drove from Conroe to take him, he is highly recommended. We took like one quiz, wrote a few papers, mid-term & final were not hard. I'm taking him for Engl 2342 next semester.

This guy is absolutely awesome. English has always been my worst class, yet I was able to make an "A" in his class. Just do what he tells you to do and you will make an "A". Very lenient grader, allows you to retype your paper and turn it in later. Don't even think about it, take this guy's class. You will not regret it.

i took mcdade for all english classes at hcc. 1301, 1302, humanities and american lit. He's the best engl profess at hcc. Just do your work. he's very understanding. sarcastic but beyond the sarcasim he is worth the a or b you will get. if you get less than a b that means you didnt do any assignments.its a guaranteed a if you do all your work.

If you need an English of any sort or Humanities of any sort Take McDade, Eng was never my best subject I took him for the mini 1302 also previously in Eng 1301. He teaches at only NE Campuses. Take him if you have trouble in English or Humanities of any sorts, he's very helpful as well. He has a English 1302 coming up if you need one this spr.

he's at the Northeast East Campus. Codwell in the learning hub. if you are gonna take him hurry because his classes fill very quickly. you may and may not need the books. depending on which english you are taking him for. PLEASE DO NOT copy someone else works. He knows.

He is a great professor. He very thorough in his subject. He is very helpful and teach everything clearly. If you attend his class and follow his instructions you will make really good grade. I highly recommend him for any English or Humanities.

Took him spring 2010--I agree with the review about him being sarcastic a lot of the time. There are 3 papers due (Persuasive Essay, Rhetorical Analysis, Research paper), a midterm (easy), final (open book/open technology). Just turn in all your work and you will pass. I got an A.

Took him for engl 1301 and 1302 during 2010 summer term. he's funny and sarcastic, gets off subject sometimes. but a great prof who helps when needed. a few quizzes and essays, midterm and final. wasn't looking forward to writing, but now i love it!!! =) take him, you won't regret it, just have your work done and do it as he says. recieved A+

I close my eyes most of the time and pass with a low A, If you have a good basic from English 1301, you should be fine. He is easy but not helpful because so little you will learn from him compare to other teacher( I compare with my Engl 1301 techer). He funny but sometime talk about something off topic, just do what he say and you cant get wrong

Took McDade for 1301 and 1302. (will try to take for humanities) Funny teacher. Refreshingly sarcastic. Class was interesting. Learned some new stuff. Enjoyed every class and writing assignment. I know he's probably reading these so: Thanks for being the best professor ever!

Professor McDade is a great professor, really gets into literature and knows what he's talking about, is very loud but keeps the class interesting!! never a dull moment! he reads, just follow along and take notes, what he reads will be on midterm and final, 2 papers in American Lit!

Composition is very easy with this guy. He is very clear. Make sure you don't ask questions about something he said earlier or he will start yelling. Still a good teacher. For the tests, your hand-writing shouldn't be small or he will take points off because the essay may look short. Not hard to make an A.

Great Professor!!!He's hilarious. Easy A or B for sure. I will take ONLY him.He is fun, and easy. Just show up & listen. He lets out early sometimes. GREAT PROFFESOR! He's perfect. He's also teach ENGL1301 and 1302. So take it all with him, You'll save a lot of time when taking his short term class Give clear instruction. Make sure you do Exactly what he told you to do and you'll pass. Oh and don't try to cheat bc he knows. Plus his test and requirements for the essays was easy so dont worry :)

Easiest Professor for English . Do all your essays and tests well and your guaranteed an A . He grades very easy and gives u 90% of the test questions prior to the tests. Essay Topics are really easy and he always lets us out 30 minutes early . Highly Recommended for any English Class -- 1301 , 1302 and English Literature . He's really funny btw

Loved this teacher. I felt that he did not expect much from you as long as he could tell that you were trying. For our final exam, we had to write a paper. I spent a couple of hours on it and was upset when he quickly glanced over my paper. Although, I really should not complain because I left the class with an "A". Easy class.

easy class, but very rude attitudes and harsh personality. will not let you leave early. will speak very loud. Dont pick him if ur one of those late comers and unprepared. U will be treated as scrubs.

"God gave you a mouth- so use it." I took Dr. McDade for Summer I 2016. He is so easy and chill. This is an easy A class. He helps you with what you need and is there for you. Just pay attention. Took him in a summer class. Only two essays. Essays were graded leniently. He might sound mean sometimes. Gives a chance to improve your essays. He does not have a clear mark distribution. Always let us out an hour early!! Great class for summer.

I loved this professor. Easy A. Must do the work and pay attention in class. Gives out reviews and always explain things if you don't understand. Took him for ENGL1301 and 1302. Prof Joe is a responsible person. I took his eight weeks class, which was a little bit compacted. We have three papers, four exams, and around eighteen reading articles. It's not hard to get A in his class if you pay your attention to the test and assignments. And he matters your attendance. One more thing to mention, he doesn't like to repeat.

Omg, Prof. McDade was awsome!! He is a very talkative person for sure but you won't get bored in his class either! I loved all his stories and lectures he gave us!! Yea there's lots of writing in his class, but so worth it!!

Summer 2017. He rambles a lot about his ex wife and personal life, but somehow ties it into the lesson. He is VERY sarcastic, but flexible with students in their writing. He allowed us to edit our papers multiple times within the same class to increase our final paper grade. Show up to class and get an easy A for sure.

Easy A just attend all his lectures. He talked a lot and can be rude sometimes. I suggest not to ask questions because he hates repeating himself. On the bright side, his essays are pretty interesting and his exams are easy.

I took him both Eng1301& 1302, highly recommend his 8 weeks class. He gives extra credit, only 2 essays for Engl1302, and grade it easily, as long as you do exactly what he said you will get an A

I took him in class for 1302 and it was light for an 8 week course. We had two papers that were easy to do if you stayed back in class to ask questions and get more instructions. The midterm was a multiple choice (easy to score a hundred if you followed instructions) and a writing portion. Pick him if you can ignore a weakness and get what you want

I took this teacher 2 years ago (2016), for a 8 week class and yes he is hilarious and sometimes hes is kind of bit annoying because he talks too much Lol but his class is just only 2 essays and 1 midterm and the good part no final exam.

I know his rating are low in this website but the people who are saying that he is easy, they are telling you the truth. I took him for ENGL 1301, 1302, and British literature which I dislike in general but he made it easy. He can be a bit rude just don't talk to him and do exactly what he says in the essays, you will be fine.

When he is teaching the whole class he can get carried away and babble about other stuff but, really direct what your assignment is. If you stay after his class and get to know him more. I PROMISEEEE you he is the best. But prepared to study on your own because he hates repeating things twice.

i have taken professor Mcdade 3 times because of how good he is. he does not give you unnecessary material for you to study/always helps w assignments. he is straight forward, and grades work CLEARLY. If you're a full time student i definitely recommend him. HIS CLASSES FILL UP QUICKLY !!! his 8 week class consist of 2 essays, 1 midterm,1 final.

He is a really cool dude, nice lectures he seems intimidating some but he is really not . had a final, a group project for a midterm. and one essay thru the whole class

Professor Joe is the best. He is straightforward. Doesnt give busy work and talk too much. He explains well and you just have to follow instructions. 3 essays and 3 tests is all you get. He is a little weird sometimes but his class is the best if u wanna pass.

His tests are easy and mainly consist of plot questions and sentence structure. His lectures consist of the explanation of his tests and essays, though he also includes personal stories which can be funny at times. When he makes an error on a test or date, he extends the due date or provides additional points. Follow essay rules and do them on time

Amazing professor im so glad I took him! You will have the best time and if you show up you will learn for sure.

Good Professor. Easy class. Go to class and sit in the front. He talks a lot, not about the assignment, but he explains the assignment decently well. Use the directions and be creative and you will get a 95% or higher for each essay. Grades consist of a few essays and a few tests.

He makes lectures mostly enjoyable. Gets off topic but in a good way.

His assignments were quite tough and you'd have to be detailed as possible. He doesn't talk a lot but gets out off-topic quite often. He made the class quite enjoyable and if you just pay attention to him, you will pass.

He talks a lot and goes on tangents during his lectures, but he's the best English prof you can have at HCC. This guy here doesn't waste your time. He tells you what you need to know exactly, and it will be on the tests. Essays are 1000 words but as long as you start on time, you'll be fine. If you don't get an A, you simply didn't want one.

Good professor. Essays are easy, they just have to be 5 pages, detailed, in MLA format. He is a bit hard grader everything has to be good written. Easy class.

He is a easyyyy A. If you dont pass this class, its on you, he does not use turnirin for essays, all exams are open note/ open book, he cancels and ends class early often. He is a fair grader. He tends to get off topic but he gives good instructions for his assignments and allows late work!!!!

Mr. McDade was a laid-back professor. His lectures intrigue me because he always cracks jokes and makes movie references. He does not care about attendance, as long as you don't disappear for weeks on end or something. However, he is a tough grader. Essays are 1,000+ words, and you have to be very detailed for a good grade in this class.
