He's a really good teacher that takes his job seriously but he still makes the class fun and interesting.

He's the best. I never had such a motivating teacher in my life. I got an A in his class. He gives group projects that help your grade. You really learn a lot with this professor. You need to study, he says my previous classes pass with A's because they study. Believe me I did. Do index cards. He tells you what to study for. Take advantage.

He is a good teacher. I took him fir the lab. He lets you handle your grades yourself. Make sure you do all of the assignments at the end trust me when I say all points count. He is very serious about his job. But remeber favoritism plays a role. However, he is very fresh.

This professor is Excellent. He allows you to use your brain and dsn't spoon feed you. In order to pass the test you must study and understand the material. He also takes it upon himself to place his class notes on the website, therefore you should not fail this course. Make sure you do all of the projects, they will definently help your grade.

I just finished MCB 2010; 2010L and I end up with an A in both classes. The best professor ever he covers every important subject. Tests are based on what he explains in class.Projects are easy and help a loton final grades. The labs have a lot of work but I learned a lot. He is very dedicated to his work. Take the class if you are ready to learn.

For the lecture there are four exams and 5 group projects(very easy though) and for the lab there are quizzes or an assignment due for each lab class, you must type a journal for every experiment so write everything down for each experiment (TRUST me it helps), and a FINAL, kinda easy depends how much you study hope this helps! =)

Hes a good biology teacher. I got a C in the class cause I slacked off the whole semester.

I got an A, but I studied my butt off, attended all lectures, took notes and studied. I learned a ton of things about microbes that I use in daily living (how ti read ingredients on cleaners etc.) I learned so much, and left class feeling more connected to the world of science. His English is very clear. He uses multi-modality approach to teach.

This class was not hard @ all, he was very clear in all his lectures, there are about 4 or 5 exams and a lot of extra credit, but it's group work though over all , he's not gonna give you an a, you have to study and come to class every day.... test are multiple choice

He is a very good professor. He is unlike most professors because he is incredibly detailed. It can get dull from time to time, but you will learn so much that will not leave you. Just study, pay attention to the online notes (which were so helpful), and do the projects right away. They are easy just make sure you pick the right team members!!!!!

Dr. Joe is a great teacher, gives very detailed notes on his website and also explains them in class. He makes the subject very easy and relates it to everyday life. Lab: He was very clear demonstrates the lab before the students conduct them you just have to do a weekly lab report dont hesitate to do them because it is a very important part of your grade and score well on quizes to take home assignment and take pictures there is your A.

I took him for Microbiology, I never go out of my way to do these things but felt like I had to! He is an inspiration and I loved going to his classes. His class demands a lot of your time because he has group projects. His test are fair but sometimes tricky. So, you need to read each qs carefully. He is very helpful, speaks clearly, gives a review for each test, and an overall nice man. If you are a hard working student, take him. If you are a slacker, you don't even try it.

This class is not an easy class, if you dont study you wont pass the class no matter who teaches the class. Dr.Joe provides you with the topics and information you need to pass his test. However, his tests are tricky. His lectures are very clear and he makes the lecture interesting. Dr. Joe is an excellent professor.

Professor Joe will keep you busy but if one study hard you will do very well. I had a lot of fun in this class, it was the most interesting class I have ever taken. I passed with A. The driving was worth it. Excellent professor. I highly recommend him.

Microbiology is the hardest class I've ever taken, but Dr. Okungbowa does a great job with teaching. He's also very funny his favorite thing to say is "It's that simple" which always made me laugh. He's sarcastic, but will help you see the bigger picture. I used youtube for the most part. Book is mandatory if you want to pass. Got an A.

Better like group projects because you'll have 7 of them! He is an excellent teacher, posts notes on his website for you. As long as you take your own notes in class and do a little bit of textbook reading you will get an A for sure.

I love Dr. Joe! Make sure you work on lab reports as you go! Smartest route: bring laptop to class and type them as you work. I worked very hard but a lot of people didn't and they still got an A. Professor Okungbowa is awesome. His class was harder then I expected and his tests are tricky but he is great. Explains the matter clearly and makes class interesting.

Basically you need to be on top of the game in this class! Make sure you study for the quizzes and do your lab reports as you go because they are LONG AND TIME CONSUMING. Not strict just gives tons of work. DON'T SKIP! Its a bit hard to make up the lab later on. No midterm, but you will have a final.

Dr.O's class is a lot of work but he's a fair grader and wants his students to learn and pass his class. There's a lot of group projects and if you take his lab its even more work. His test weren't so bad I never read the book just studied his notes & power point slides & I passed.

I was kind of hesistant for this class because of the comments about him below. All you need to do is read the book, take notes during his lectures, and study the study guide. There are a lot of group projects, no quizzes, 5 exams, and attendance is a grade. Besides that he is not as bad as everyone is saying, just dont be lazy and study.

Dr. Okungbowa was a great lab professor. In every lab you need to follow directions and take clear notes, if you do that in his class you will be fine. The class consisted of quizzes and assignments (all easy), two unknowns, and a final practicum. Would take again.

Hes respectful as long as you return the same. This professor is incredibly organized, strict(in a good way), and will not tolerate students who do not follow class rules. Just do the work, follow his instructions carefully and actually pay attention to his lectures.

Professor Joe is nice the class work load is very heavy he gives to many quizzes and assignment. He teaches well and gives study guides the class was still VERY difficult and there is a long journal due at the end of the semester.

Out of all the classes I have taken for my degree, this has been by far the most difficult and time-consuming one. However, I can honestly say that this professor really knows the material and is willing to help anyone he sees that deserves it. I advice you to read and memorize EVERYTHING he says or mentions in class and you will do just fine.

Took him for Summer A. Great professor. Easy class. 5 group projects. 4 exams and a final which where all on blackboard,each exam except the final had 2 attempts. attendance is also a grade. Very caring, he would always take feedback on how the class should be done.

great professor. only around 5 assignments which you submit on blackboard, 5 in class quizzes that are like 10 questions each. 2 unknown exams. and a final. have to do a lab report for every lab you do but he gives you an outline on how to set it up and you have till the end of the semester to complete it. highly recommend him

One of my favorite professors at MDC. Attending his lectures and taking good notes will get you an A. His exams come directly from the lecture, so pay attention. Group projects were a breeze. Overall, loved his class. Was not expecting to enjoy microbio this much after hearing so many people dread taking this subject. 10/10 would take him again.

i took him doing covid19 he made the class super easy, the test is a little bit complicated but if you study you'll do fine, group projects are so easy, take him. the only bad thing about him is he talked toooooo much for no reason, the class was 3hrs long he talked for 3hrs!

Took this professor during pandemic (blended). This professor is really good at explaining step by step what something means, making it very easy to understand topics. His exams however are made on his own words, and will only test you on things he has taught, so if you study you should pass. We also did group projects(5) which were very easy.

Prof. Okungbowa is one of MDC's best. If you "really" want to learn MCB2010 & MCB2010L; pick him, attend classes if you cannot spend 2hrs daily studying materials, H/Ws are easy, jot things during classes; you will need them. Attendance, not mandatory but I would not miss any, there are recordings tho. I had doubts but not anymore; RN in view.

I took Dr. Okungbowa for micro lecture and lab and it was OKAY. He taught them blended and his lectures are really long but if you pay attention, all of his test questions are answered in them. For lab, lab reports are due and are TIME CONSUMING. Do them weekly as he does goes over the material. Nice professor, would take again.

Not bad. The most organized coursework I've seen; he makes his own powerpoints, exams, etc. with a lot of effort. Still, he outright ignores participation and gets annoyed when you ask questions. His lectures are decent, and only what he covers is on the exam. You won't do well if you don't put in the effort to take notes and pay attention.

Dr. Joe is a great Professor. I had fun experimenting with the labs. You'd have to write a lab journal after each lab. It's best to do them after each class. Because, It will pile up. It's fun and informative. It's a lot to learn.

His labs were fun and easy

As a professor he taught the best he could and knew exactly what he was talking about. Beware he will not give breaks in the 4 hour class and will make sure to pack A LOT of exercises into each class. he does too much but the class is not hard to pass as long as you do what he says and make sure you don't wait for last minute for the lab journals.
