Rice is a really nice guy, some of his jokes fall flat, but he knows it and pokes fun at himself for it. He is really upbeat and makes the class fun. If you study the study guide he gives for tests, guaranteed A. I would recommend him for anyone taking a marketing class.

i have been going to this school for 3 years and have never met such a wonderful instructor. he is caring, funny and very fair. anybody who has him is LUCKY.

Whats not to like? He offers real life experiances to make this class fun and interesting. He is an outstanding teacher. If you memorize the exam review sheet and come to class, it is an easy A. I wish he taught more subjects!

I think other teachers need to take note is Mr. Rice. He tries to add involvment, excitment, enthusiasim or whatever it takes to make class fun. Really cool guy. He makes material very understandable through examples and stories. He even brings in products for us to try and applies it to marketing. Test are not bad. I WISH HE TAUGHT MORE COURSES!!

This guy is the greatest!! I was so nervous to take a summer class because i work such a crappy schedule i would be going to work then directly to school for four hours everyday. I was a little sceptical on if i was going to pass...but seriously Mr.Rice not only taught us everything in 3 weeks but made it so much fun!

I'm finishing up my class with Mr. Rice, and will be recommending him to any of my friends needing a Marketing class. He is very helpful, and energetic. There's alot of work, but if you attend class regularly, you shouldn't have any issues. I took the class in three weeks and am pretty sad, it flew by so quickly.

Took the summer class.4 hrs day/4 days a week/3 weeks.I thought it was going to suck but I was so wrong.He lets summer classes use the book for tests, all work is done in class besides 2 2-page writing assignments. Class was fun!Lots of videos, group work, etc.Kinda sad the class is over.TAKE THIS CLASS DURING THE SUMMER!YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

By far my favorite class last semester. His visual aids keep you interested and his sence of humor keeps you laughing the whole class. I was sad when this class ended, but happy because I learned so much. If you do your work, come to class, and study his guides you will get an A. Great Professor!

He makes Marketing Fun. Going to class is actually a joy, its not hard to pay attention with all of his visual display and fun examples. The tests are easy and usually lets you use a cheat sheet front and back. Group projects are done very often but are easy. There is no final exam there is just 1 big presentation that he gives you weeks to work on

Joe is the best professor at Macomb. This is the 4th class I have had that he teaches. He knows the world of marketing and uses many different techniques to teach it to you. Great sense of humor, fair grader and his tests are fair. Just use the study guide and notes from his power points and you should get an easy A!

I took Marketing with him my very first class of my very first semester in college. Great guy, great teacher! He will take all class to talk, but he's entertaining and you don't notice the time. Only one major presentation with a group. I loved the class and i'd recommend him to anyone. Very fun personality and knows what hes talking about.

Online MKTG1010 with Rice was pretty easy. I got an A in the class but a decent amount of work was required each week. It seemed to all be busy work, it was easy to obtain A's in all of it, just a bit tedious and annoying at times. You need the book for his tests, but half the questions are word-for-word from Google. There is also a group project

Need the book for studying, but not reading every chapter. Tests are only hard if you don't pay attention/study at all. Would deff. recommend!

3-Week Summer class – Workload was very manageable. Very enthusiastic, made class fun with YouTube videos, etc . Gave an excellent presentation of the material and keeps you engaged. 4 Hr class flew by. Lets you use one page of notes front/back for the test. A is no problem if you show up and do the work. Final Project is super fun and very easy.

Mr. Rice is such a great professor! He is so funny and really cares about his students. Easy class. Just show up to class because there are a lot of in class assignments. 4 exams, all of which are easy, and 8 various assignments. There is a huge, but fun competition at the end of the semester where you market a backpack towards a group of people.

Great teacher, who does respond to emails. Make sure you stay on top of this class. Lots of homework, but if you put in the time and effort each week it shouldn't be a problem. The class was very informative, but had a heavier workload than other classes.

Professor Rice is one of the best (& most fun) professors I've encountered so far! He is passionate about what he teaches & sincerely wants you to succeed in his class. He prints out note sheets for you and then lectures so the reading load from the book is quite light. Pay attention and take additional notes as he lectures and you'll pass easily!

Finally, a business professor who requires a realistic, professional response from students. Clear grading criteria, gives all necessary information to do well in his class, cares for students but does not make it casual to pass his class. I appreciated his interactions and advice to me and others and motivated students to do their best.

Best professor I've had at MCC. There is 4 exams but he gives a study guide that informs you of almost everything you need to know. Professor Joe is great professor. The class is very fun and if your read the text book (just like what you are suppose to do on any other class) you'll pass this class. YES is will give homework is not hard, is fun and easy, the mini-simulations projects are easy and fun, if you read the instruction first you'll get it. I highly recommend him.

Easy A. Essentially, he gives you a handout of notes, lectures. Then gives a mini Assignment with your surrounding table mates. Then an exam. 4 exams and each day the mini assignments contribute to a 20 point assignment at the end of each exam quarter. Backpack simulation VERY fun. Key: spend ALL your money on advertising in it the entire 16 turns.

Prof. Rice is like that kid in high school who always got bullied and then became his bully's boss, except he's super nice and actually knows what he's talking about and doesn't hold it against his bully. Wonderful teacher, very knowledgeable, gives excellent feedback. If I could take every marketing class with him I would.

The best professor I have ever had. I had him for three semesters. He actually cares about his students and their learning. He makes lectures fun and assigns projects that will help you in the real world. He makes lessons interesting and I actually wanted to go to class. Because of his class. I discovered my love for marketing.

Dr. Rice is kind towards all of his students and teaches you a lot. Far more beneficial to take his class on campus vs online. I had him over the summer in the three week format and while there is not much homework, he does keep you the full four hours which is somewhat miserable. But overall good professor.

This class is awesome. Prof gives out timelines for each chapter and lectures are interesting. At the end of the semester, you go head-to-head with classmates in a simulation competition based on what you learned. In-class assignments every class, so attendance necessary. Professor Rice is by far the best instructor I've had. I'm only a few weeks in but he is just great. He leaves side notes on a bunch of assignments complimenting you. The assignments are all about 20-40 points each so if you bomb a test your grade won't suffer. Don't even look for another professor, just take him.

He's great. The course is designed so well, his feedback is useful, and he's definitely interested in helping you if needed. I took the course online. You can't work ahead, just week by week. Extra credit is available every week. There's a lot of writing, but once you get the hang of it the work is easy to complete every week.

I really enjoyed this class. It was online 8-week condensed course, so there was about 7 assignments a week. Discussion post, questions, simulations, reviewing, and quiz. I spent around 4 1/2-5 hours total a week on everything. Rice summarized lectures every week, but I still ended up using the book. He provided feedback on assignments.

His care for students is so amazing and he is truly so passionate about what he does. He is so kind and funny. He really tries to connect with his students and it's so refreshing.

Professor Rice is an Emmy Award-Winning marketing guru who is one of the genuinely sweetest people I have ever met. He is understanding, friendly, and great at explaining marketing topics. For this capstone marketing class, he doesn't give you tons of busy work, and everything you do has a purpose. I would take this class 100 times.

Professor Rice makes his lectures entertaining and teaches the material well. The online format works great, with manageable weekly assignments. Unstuck AI was super helpful for prepping for exams.

Professor is such a sweet guy. Don't get me wrong, you need to participate. However, he is really understanding and if you ever have an issue he does his best to fix it. Once I started crying because I was overwhelmed and though he was probably super uncomfortable, he never appeared that way and was really kind about the whole incident.

You have an assignment to do each class but at the end he drops your 2 lowest grades so you can miss 2 days of class and not be affected! You also work a lot with your table! The class was easy and he was very helpful if you didn't understand something. 4 exams throughout & no tests.

I took his marketing course in 2007. His material and teachings back then is still very much relevant today!

He is a great professor. His class was fun and he made sure his class was interesting so that it was easier for students to learn. We would do fun games to help everyone in the class learn the material easier and it was fun. He would drop 2 lowest scores on homework or small projects or miss two days and not lose credit for that.

Amazing professor, due dates are due dates cannot turn anything in late and if you miss class no matter what you will still get a 0 on the in class assignments which can have a bigger impact on your grade but super funny and interesting lectures, make sure you read the book even after lectures for the tests.
