Solberg is an all around good guy. He teaches law in a way that virtually anyone can understand it. He's likable, smart, witty and quick on his feet. I think he's witty and funny enough to have a successful career in comedy. I highly recomend taking his class. If you are kind of interested in law and want depth, read the book. He simplifies.

If you have to take this class take it with him. Guy is hilarious and tells some great stories. Incorperates real life things happening in the law and if you ask him a question he finds out what the answer is if he doesn't know. Many profs at ISU try to be funny with their run-of-the-mill sarcasm and countless unoriginal beer jokes, but their attempts only reinforce how dull they truly are. Solberg is one of the few who knows how to make class fun. Reminded me of the community college days before I came to the dismal town of Normal. Oh, and his tests are easy too. A+

Dr. Solberg is BY FAR one of the best professors in the COB! Hi is SO funny, relates a good story or case to everything in class, gives you the outlines, offers TONS of extra credit, and is willing to help or talk any time. His tests arent that hard you just need to study the outlines well, but the extra credit really helps your grade. TAKE HIM!

Pretty much the same as everyone else has said here... I took him over the summer and it was a pretty easy class. Print off the outlines for each chapter, study a night or two before tests, goto class (he tells some good stories) and you should get an easy A or B.

As everyone else has said, Solberg is hilarious. He teaches everything clearly, you know what he's going to test on, and he doesn't need to require attendance...everyone shows up just to hear the lectures. I absolutely recommend him, he makes otherwise dry topics really interesting.

Great teacher overall. He makes real estate law very interesting. I would definitely recommend taking this course. There are two tests and a final. Also, there are briefs and homework that account for not that much of your grade.

Everyone loves him. I learned so much in his Real Estate Law class. Workload is minimal, two easy questions every week normally. You need to write three briefs worth ten point each which is easy. Two tests and a final. Learned so much information in this class that will be used in everyday conversation and activity. Take this course!!!

Joe is awesome. Very, very funny. Knows law and has plenty of experience in the field; so he tells a lot of cool stories. outside of the test, all the points are basically free. Test are not hard, but are no joke either... take his practice exams and you'll be fine. No textbook which is nice. Take him if at all possible!

There is no reason to take anybody else than Solberg. Tests are easy and all of the study material is on study blue already. If you do the easy homework and current events and use study blue there is a good chance you can get an A. Lectures are funny and he is a very nice guy. Curves his tests also. I would say one of my favorite professors of my college career. If you go to his class write down what he writes down and study what he tells you to study you will walk out with an A no problem. Be ready his tests are hard if you do not study but he gives you exactly what to study (some of it word for word). So they are rather easy.

Joe Solberg is the best professor I have had at ISU. He gives examples that you will not forget, for the tests. The tests aren't hard, there isn't much of a work load, and he is the funniest professor at ISU. The only other professor I would put in the same category as him, is Bill Shields. They are both Gods amongst men.

Solberg made class worth going to. He is funny and respectable and has experience in this subject. The class is fairly easy, with article summaries about ethics or law in the news, homework questions, and occasional extra credit. Took the class online and he provided you with biweekly detailed outlines that you actually had to read and pay attention to in order to do good on the assignments. Professor Solberg is amazing. I had him for my Gateway class at Illinois Wesleyan and he made sometimes boring material incredibly funny with his personal stories and tangents. He is accessible outside of class, and cares about his students. I laughed about something in everyone of our sessions. If you get a chance, take a class with Solberg!!

If you can take a class with Solberg, do it! He's hilarious and he knows a lot. He goes on like 20 tangents a class but it's great. I still did learn a lot even if it may have been a little unconventional, but he taught me important things I never would've learned from anyone else.
