This teacher did inform us that the test was three chapters at a time. Joe did everything in his power to help you understand. If we had a problem he would even help on the test just enough to figure out the answer with out telling us the answer.Great Guy

Nice teacher but when it came to his tests and review, he would reteach everything he taught and give no clues to what was going to be on the test.three chapters were way to much to study.

Great professor! He goes out of his way to explain things, esp math. You will need to study, but right from his notes. He reviews righ before the test too. Even though I didn't want to take Chem, he made it bearable. He answers emails almost immediately. He is very helpful, even during tests. TAKE HIM!!!!

I had him on Saturday which is brutal on its own, but nevertheless he was a very good teacher, very helpful and the labs were fun. the only thing is on a Saturday the lecture (its like 3 hours) can put somebody to sleep but overall good teacher.

This teacher gave me the Courage to Learn Chemistry & even get a "B" He is exacting and to the point! He doesn't waste any time & It is a lot of info!! I had a Sat. class! Which is BRUTAL! But I have an "A" in every Science A&P1,A&P11 &Micro since his class & I Give HUGE Credit to him for that! He believed in me &sent me to A&P1,said u can do it!

He is very descriptive and relates to real world examples. If anyone had a question, he took the time to answer and made sure that his response was understood. The class itself did get a little long at times, but he made it interesting. I would highly recommend anyone to his class; beginner or advance.

One of the best learning experiences I have had! He brings Chem into the real world using real life examples. Gives great notes - study them hard and you dont need your text book. Tests are challenging, but fair. Also, he is great at helping - ALWAYS AVAILABLE! I would recommend him to anyone! I got an "A" last semester... you can too!

If you cannot take Grimes, take this prof. He's so nice and understanding. The only time I used the book was for HW questions that really help you out on the exam. He gives you everything else you need to know. I highly recommend!!

Mr. Sweatlock knows his chemistry but sometimes forgets the students don't. The tests are hard and tricky but if you study hard you may do good. The labs really help improve your grade. Don't be absent or you will get behind or miss something. I enjoyed his class.

Write down EVERYTHING he puts on the board because that is what is going to be on the test! 2. Even though it?s not collected, DO THE HOMEWORK. You?ll do better on the tests. 3. I hadn't had chemistry since high school over 20 years ago. Joe is an excellent teacher and really can't make it any easier. He explains everything and will continue until you understand it. If you have a hard time in this class then you probably aren't putting the time in to study. After all, this is a chemistry class!!

I took Chem at a different University and i failed taking Professor Sweatlock class was the best thing i could have done. He is a very good teacher he explains all his materials very well and the best part is if you dont understand what he's teaching he'll explain whatever it is you didnt understand untill you get it.

Prof SweatLock is the best teacher i have ever had! I was scared of taking this class because i didnt do too well in HS. However, I got an A because he is extremely patient, understanding, knowledgeable, funny, interesting and last but not least, he cares about teaching. I really wish there were more professors like him.

He a good teacher. Very nice. Important to not miss classes will be hard to catch up. 4-test very hard must study. quizzes online for each chapter (5 questions). As long as you follow in class and print notes from canvas you can get a good grade.

Everything is very organized. I really appreciated the way he set up the grading system. For me, it was easier to keep up. I enjoyed chemistry because of professor sweatlock. I recommend him to anyone. I heard he's a high school teacher as well so he keeps it simple. Seriously take his class! Highly recommended.

I never thought I would ever understand Chemistry until I took this class. He's great! Easy-going, explains clearly and will keep working with you until you get it. Pay attention in class, take notes, do the labs, couple of hmwk and that's it! Finals is all the tests combined so just re-print practice sheets and take them again, you'll pass easily.

Dr Sweatlock is amazing!!! I was terrified to take chemistry because I thought it would be hard but he is VERY HELPFUL. His lectures are clear and straight to the point. Very good professor, I slacked in this class because of personal issues this semester and barely studied. I still passed with a good grade. He's very hepful and all you have to do is go over class worksheets for exams and you will do good in his class.

Professor Sweatlock should be the only person allowed to teach Chemistry at Bucks. He makes it simple, clear, and easy to grasp the material. If you show up, take notes, study, and for the love of God do the homework, you'll be okay! The homework is tedious, just to warn you. His notes are basically the test, so it's not bad. By far, the best!

He's the best, I can't believe how easy he made Chem to understand. He lays out the entire semester on Canvas. U don't NEED the text but I used it for hw help. HW is tedious&time consuming but very simple-don't wait until the last minute. Exams match his worksheets almost exactly. I really don't know how ANYONE can do poorly in his class.

I took his chem101 class as a hybrid class so unfortunately he didn't lecture us on anything we only came into class two days a week and both days are to do labs BUT he makes time in the beginning of each class to explain the chapter you are on and will answer any question you have. if you can do the worksheets you will pass the test.

Mr sweatlock was a great professor for chemistry. He made the class very easy to understand.

He is great at teaching Chem. He says it alot that he makes it so we can succeed in class. Show Up, take notes, study, and do the homework. He is great at answering any questions. You never have to feel awkward approaching him about something you dont understand. He will answer one on one or show you how with the rest of the class

Mr. Sweatlock is an AMAZING teacher. He grades you based on the work you put out. He grades very fair. Was scared about taking chemistry and he took that fear away. He will answer any question you have, he is quick to answer emails and has gradws from tests and labs withing 2 days. I highly recommend Sweatlock.

Dr. Sweatlock is one of those teachers that is hard to come by. He is knowledgeable, funny, caring and very respectable. He obviously enjoys his job thoroughly and you can see it in his face how happy he gets to teach us about chemistry. He is a true educator and one I will remember forever. 10/10 would recommend.

I haven't been in school in 10 years, so I was nervous about Chem.,took as a hybrid. He was so helpful. I would bug him before class but he always seemed like he was thrilled to get questions. Its obvious he loves teaching and wants us to pass. Do all the work required, even the ungraded book work (thats where the answers to the mylab are).

Very good professor, if you have difficulty with chemistry take this professor do the homework, he gives a practice test after each lecture to help you understand the materials.

I took his class last fall (2018) and he was great. I hadn't been in school in 10 years and I was very nervous about taking Chemistry, but he explained everything really well and made it pretty easy to understand. He is one of the best professors that I have had the entire time that I have been a student at Bucks County Community College.

Professor Sweatlock is amazing at what he does. He has a lot of experience in the science world so he gives very distinct examples and makes sure you understand what he is teaching. I was skeptical about taking Chem being I failed it in high school, but he made it very easy to understand and feel good about what I was learning.

Dr. Sweatlock is truly great at teaching. He understands that many people are afraid of Chemistry. He makes things easier to understand and is a generous grader. His lectures are very helpful as he tries to tie each lesson to an example and he gives good mneumonics. He creates the test from the module worksheets, so do them and you'll do great!

He was a good professor, responsive to emails, his lectures made the chemistry concepts a lot more clear. He was understanding about getting work in to him and gave very clear guidelines for when things were do. Made chem low stress.

He gets lost sometimes in his stories when explaining things but solid teacher. If you need help just ask and he's there. I used the textbook as more background but his tests are straight from his notes and so are his problems. Ask questions early on how to set up equations and you'll get through it easy.

I love Professor Sweatlock! He is so nice and patient. He understands a lot of his students are busy and have lives and gives a lot of time for assignments! He breaks all his lectures down in ways that are super easy to understand and is just overall really good at teaching. If Chem is one of your required courses TAKE HIM!!

I am currently taking Dr. Sweatlock. I am awful at math, and I was really concerned about taking chem. I'm at an 88% for the class because he's such a great professor. He's nice and extremely tolerant. He will explain something 10 times if requested. The course is clearly outlined and he gives test-specific prep sheets. He goes above & beyond.

Professor Sweatlock is a real gem. His class is clear/concise and you know exactly what is expected of you. The work isn't due until the end of the semester but it is in your best interest to complete each module as you go so you do not get overloaded. He answers every question that is asked and is truly a caring professor. TAKE HIM!

I loved his class. Study his hints. The power point was helpful. His lectures helped me a lot along with his videos. If you dont study at all at least look at his worksheets and look at the answers because that is what the test will mostly be like. Not too vocabulary heavy. Ask a ton of questions because he is so helpful and there for you.

Dr. Sweatlock was an amazing teacher. His class is tough but he works with you to help you understand the material. he also takes the time to answer as many questions you have on material you have learned and will give examples of the work. Make sure you do all the online assignments and lab work and study for the test math is dimensional analysis.

Mr. Sweatlock respected each and every student in his Chem 101 class. He would begin each class with an hour of lecture and then go to lab. His lectures and lab were very thorough and he helped with any and all questions. There are a total of 7 tests and one final, the labs are not tested on. He understand we all have busy schedules.
