I felt surprised fairly often by his exam questions (they come from the PSets, not the review questions posted on Blackboard). I didn't do terribly well in the class, but he was pretty engaging one-on-one and he gave us cookies once. Nice enough guy, but remember about the PSet-to-test conversion. And don't buy the textbook-- it's useless.

One of the most hard working profs I have seen at Tufts. Simply an awesome prof!!! Incredibly encouraging and very good at explaining stats. I never thought I would love stats but Prof Swingle made it both fun and interesting. His exams were difficult but fair - questions mirrored pset questions closely. If you do psets, you will do well on exams.

Prof Swingle is a very tedious professor and a tough grader. Holding a class at 8.05am he should engage and excite students or he will lose them, and he doesn't. Prof. Swingle is possibly the best professor I've ever had for a math class. He made every single stat concept so easy to grasp. The Psets are not hard, be ready to dedicate like 2 hours a week for them. The exams are very fair and if you study you will do very well. He gives so much material for test prep. He's also such a nice and funny guy.

Very straightforward class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but go to class because he teaches you exactly what you need to know for the psets and exams. He offers plenty of study materials and wants you to do well.

Hes not a horrible professor but it might be better if you can find another one for EC13. Hes a tough grader and the course is VERY exam heavy. Class is overwhelming and canvas/resources are all over the place. In general hes not the most understanding.

Amazing stats professor! Made learning stats easy to understand and gave plenty of resources in the lecture to understand the steps and methods. Multiple tries on problem sets and exam questions are taken from the psets. Lecture is important, but Swingle makes it engaging and worthwhile. Came out of the class enjoying stats
