He's a good professor who really tries to do the best for his students. Rewards improvement in his class with giving higher grades, makes himself available and explains topics thoroughly. Political Theory is a reading and discussion course and exams are essays, so it is not an easy class but he can make it easy for those who try. Not for slackers.

Took Political Theory and American Government. Overall, an easy grader with few homework assignments, always helpful. Need book and need to read constantly for Theory because it is all discussion class, American Government is more lecture. Great teacher, highly recommended

This teacher is seriously EASY! The class is boring though, but HW & EXAMS are easy. You also have to do a CURRENT EVENT ESSAY, but that is fairly easy too. He posts a STUDY ONLINE. For my class, he always used the same short answer questions on the test. So definitely use the it to study. It may be boring, but I guess it's an easy A or B.

Had Dr. Blank for Political Theory and he was very passionate about the subject. "Can't Minimize" the importance of reading the text or asking questions or guidance when in need for help. Very nice and likable guy who pontificates on the subject laying out hard concepts in laimen's terms. I would recommend him for Poli. Sci. courses!

He rambles a lot about unnecessary things, attending class is a waste of time. He doesn't clarify a lot. His take home quizzes are okay but the articles he's very picky on. HE NEVER RESPONDS to emails!!!!

SUPER EASY... take home quiz's, Exams are extracted from hw, quiz's, and notes. He is very passionate about PoliSci and really knows his stuff. Great teacher

SUPER SUPER easy. Just study from the book and you will pass his class. Take home quizzes. One easy during the whole year. The test are easy if you study. He does give a study guide online for those that want it. He loves to inspire students to get involved in politics and think critically.

Wonderful professor and class. VERY BIG on class discussion and participation, no wrong answer just wants feedback. Very easy homework assignments, take home quizzes and one large research project. The more you attend class the better because you will understand the book material for tests much easier. Really enjoyed his class and easily got an A!

I'm sure he's a great teacher who loves to talk about politics, but I'm just not into the class like he is. He loves participation and he will make you think if you choose to try to debate with him. A lot of stuff he does is online, many people just print out his notes and just sit in class doing nothing.

super easy class. homeworks are easy. hes a really good teacher. easy research project. always tells you exactly what is going to be on the test. so just study that and u will do fine on the tests. basically one word sums up this class: EASY.

Take this class if you want to understand the how, and why, of governance. I learned so much and it blew my mind. alot of work is entailed, but worth it. Also, when he licks his lips pay attention, what he's saying when he does that is important

Grade based mostly on writing assignments that he expects a lot of information from. He likes details and also wants your writing to be succinct. Tough grader but gives a few extra points to everyone on tests and offers some extra credit assignments. Will nag class if people dont participate. Not very technically savvy.

He's passionate about politics, class was beneficial, he picks on students, gives massive amount of work but they are easy and mostly online. He cares about students and wants everyone to pass with an A. He made it interesting to learn about politics. You must read the book and study to do well on the test in class. Overall, great class.

He is a great professor! He is very passionate about politics. He will do his best to help the students. Several times, he postponed the due dates on several assignments because most of us had not even started it yet. Also, he gives out frequent but small amounts of extra credit.

Dr. Blank is smart and passionate, but about as clear as mud most of the time. I have to record lectures because it is impossible to take notes as he meanders through topics. He takes his job of preparing you for a COLLEGE LEVEL CLASS very seriously, but is amazingly flexible as well. Cannot maintain discipline to save his life though.

Book was mandatory because it needed a code for online quizzes. Which were super duper hard. The only thing that kept me interested was the fact that he sounds like FRY FROM FUTURAMA.

Lost of enthusiasm, very knowledgeable. Takes on lots of different perspectives on how and why things are. Will always answer questions during lecture - no matter how remote.

Prof Blank is very knowledgeable on International Law and current events. He gives you all the tools you need to succeed, nothing is hidden. Stay on task yourself and he won't drift either

He's a great instructur. The quizzes helped bump up my grade and helped me do better on the tests. He got me interested in politics and now I pay attention to what's going on. You'll do fine if you spend some time reading the material.

Prof. Blank deserves a higher rating. People who didn't do well in my class never showed up, and put little to no effort. His tests are all multiple choice with an essay question, and the essay question is LITERALLY THE HW. He even makes sure he returns the hw WITH FEEDBACK BEFORE the exams. Quizzes get UNLIMITED retries. He is very flexible.

Dr. Blank is one of my favorite professors I have taken at Delta. Political Theory is not a class you should take if you want an easy A. However, Dr. Blank not only tries to make the class easier, but you will learn tons from this man. The class is purely discussion with 2 exams, 4 essay(2 in class). Take him if you are prepared to work hard only!

Joel Blank is a good professor, but it doesn't come easy. Taking his political philosophy class was an eye-opening yet stressful experience. The class has two gears: either it's a bunch of reading and super easy, or he's assigning papers and you're stressing out. Got the A, but it was stressful. Recommend this professor for people majoring in PolSc

He is very understand that you have outside lives, and postponing dates to help you pass, but in order to pass you must read the book, his lectures are usually off topic.

Blank was a very helpful and easy going professor. Not many assignments so not a stressful class, just be sure to make your papers as substantive as possible and not too long because he will make you rewrite them if they are too long and ramble. Highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a professor that won't stress them with pointless work

Show up do the work and you'll get an easy A. He is a little unorganized, but that might work to your advantage. do the online assignments and you will pass. He lectures alot, but most all work is online.

I dont care what anyone says about Professor Blank. He is one of the most caring and helpful professors ive ever had. If you go to his office hours he will help you pass. All you have to do is study and the work and you will succeed, he will help you.

He is great and understands the problems with a hybrid class. Lots of lectures and note taking but no pop quizzes. We take chapter tests and 3 exams. Hes funny and just wants the students to learn.

The exact moment we started class on the first day he told us how much his students meant to him. He is an absolutely caring and interactive professor. You will need the book and there are a large amount of tests. Blank will honestly make you enjoy politics because of how funny he is! Hes the professor that yells and acts out American Gov!! 10/10

As soon as I started this semester we experienced a massive amount of technology problems. He made sure we as a class were treated fair and understood how difficult it was to turn assignments in. He has been extremely hilarious every single day of class! Overall its a bit difficult class, we have 4 exams with no study guides which makes them hard.

If I could take this professor for every class I would in a heartbeat. Professor Blank is so passionate about his subject and his students that it makes the lectures worth sitting through. He truly has a heart of gold and is very understanding about students and their situations.

OKAY, He's a good professor. He grades diff with his essays, and I struggled a lot. However, I asked him another chance to do the essay again and he did let me. i appreciate his understanding. Professor is passionate about the subject and lectures daily, so attendance is mandatory. (participation based on attendance) There are a lot of assignments, but the grading criteria is very clear. Just keep up with it and you'll do fine. The e-book is needed for chapter quizzes and the first three exams are online.

Professor Blank has been one of my favorite professors to have during my time here. His class formats are quite easy to follow. Even though his lectures can be quite long, they are very informative (with assistance from Skittles). He answered all my emails throughout the semester. Very Helpful! Not even joking it makes me want to cry thinking of what a sweet man this professor is. Once a week he would have zoom meetings and you didnt have to go but he did post them for later viewing. Some extra credit (enough to boost your grade). replies to emails quickly. even though I got a C his class is easy to pass as long as you do your work.

This is by far the most passionate lecturer I have ever had. If he has his way, no one will fail his class. He is loving and caring. Always willing to answer your questions. I took Professor blank as an online class. I never used the textbook but I had to buy a package in order to access the online class code(included the textbook)He provided extra credit and HW was just article reviews and one study question (paper) He rounded my A- to a A and he has a cool bird he shows on his online lectures, these are optional.

I took professor Blank in Fall 2020 and he is by far the best POLSC professor at Delta, I am honestly so upset that his class is over. He is such a caring person and puts in so much effort to make sure the material is engaging. His homework assignments are IARs and let you be creative in how you learn about American government. 10/10 professor.

Such a good professor, I received a B because I was really lazy over the semester but I could have easily gotten an A if I put in more effort into the class. IAR's are really easy and fun! The Study Question was a bit difficult but graded it very fairly even when I turned it in very late. Loved the class and professor, I highly recommend.

Lectures were basically just slides, but you still learn a lot from being in his class. Started his class just before the pandemic. He made the transition to online classes fairly smoothly. Online textbook is needed for assignments. Decent amount of writing assignments, but they aren't difficult.

Professor blank is very knowledgeable in this field. His classes will be most tailored to those who admire political science. He expects a lot of reading and participation but ultimately its from sense of care. Blank may lack in some aspects such as is assignments but ultimately he is very engaging and can be understanding of students.

Lots of homework but they are all very easy. I think this class is one of the few at Delta that is easily passable by anyone who takes it, as long as you put the work in. Gives out lots of IARs which are small assignments that have you write on current events, one long essay, and lots of textbook assignments. Great class.

Professor Blank is hands down the best professor I've had in my life. I've taken him for POLSC 5, 3, and 50H and he has expanded my knowledge of this field and my writing and critical thinking skillset. He gives lots of opportunities to get points. If you're lazy, don't take this class. This man is amazing and full of knowledge. He's preparing you to know the historical content and context. Most importantly, you learn how to be involved and this should give pride to all American's because we're blessed to have the opportunities that we do.

Lots and lots of assignments but it can give you opportunities to raise your grade. The layout is written assignments for articles (of your choosing), textbook assignments, one paper (extra credit is available on it). Very flexible on late policy and is knowledgable on the subject.

Class is centered around the textbook assignments but gives out IARs (small written assignments on news articles), and the Study Question (1,000 word paper but allows a rewrite). Not a hard class but lots of busy work! the professor is good at lecturing too. Don't plagiarize, uses turnitin for a lot.

Professor Blank is a very amazing person. He cares about his students, holds them accountable and gives and opportunity to get a good grade. You have to work at it but he does everything that he can to help you by giving lots of assignments.

Light workload, only read 1 textbook chapter for each week. Assignments are simple, just read and include what he wants by using the textbook and his lecture slides. Prof was nice, students gained exam points back with rewrites. Also responds to any concerns quickly. Some mishaps but he recognizes them and fixes them quickly, overall great prof!

Took a bit to get some grades back but was a very fair grader, there is a lot of writing but the assignments have some pretty good instructions on what he is looking for. I liked the class and the IARs were really easy.

He replied so fast, if you have any question and he will reply you in an hour. there not much hw, always extend the due date, late work also acceptable. Take this class, i just got a late assignment which doc me ten point out 25 and i asked him, he just reply me he will fix it. In literally two mins.

Easy A. got a B+ missing 110 points, with an opportunity to earn 45 extra credit points. 3 exams/1 final. 5 "Internet Article reviews" 300 word count requirement. One essay question response submitted through TurnitIn, 100 points. smartbook chapters to complete through mcgraw/hill connect. Used ChatGPT for everything, never touched the book.

Im taking International relations this semester, this professor is so kind, very helpful and the most important thing is you need to communicate with him clearly, if you don't understand something in the course or you have a personal problem, he will be more than happy to help you. I highly recommend taking this class with such a nice professor.

Good professor, all work is straightforward. Book is needed with access code, can rent though. Will round grades higher if close. Is not too strict, is lenient with late work. Has videos ft his pet bird skittles.

The lectures were straight-forward, but they are long. The lecture are pre-recorded so overall the class was really easy. The assignments are not too hard as well. If you follow the student example and rubric, you can finish the assignment at least in 1 hour. Although, DON'T procrastinate, assignments are ALWAYS due at 8 AM, MONDAY.

My boy is the best. These other posts are whiners and lazy, its college. He pushes students to read, analyze, challenge and write. These are all things that help other students. He loves teaching and is there if you have questions. He's not one who is not available or MIA. The key is communication!

Prof Blank is awesome! He extends deadlines for quizzes and offers extra credit. Lots of reading to do and practice quizzes to submit but quizzes and exams are all open note/book so take good notes! He also has assignments called internet article reviews that I thought were fun; pick a topic, summarize, and explain how it relates to the class.

It's an easy A, but his study guides don't really match up with his exams. He loves to talk, very wordy. As long as you do the reading and the assignments, you'll pass. He offers good extra credit as well. Overall, he's a decent professor to take for the credit.

I enjoyed this professors lectures. The written assignments were a little tedious, but doable. The TA was a tough grader. It does take the professor/TA some time to grade assignments, but he does extend due dates often. He also offers some extra credit.

Amazing professor, required textbook purchase to access quizzes, as long as you finish the quiz you get all points, 5 writing assignments for Internet Article Reviews (2 article review on 1 issue) and 1 Internet Article Comparison Review (4 article on 1 issue), tests are easy and overall a great and easy class to take, highly recommend to take!

This class is so smooth and chill. The professor gives extra credit opportunity and also round off the grade at the end. Has a simple grading criteria, easy and informative class.

Professor blank cares about his students a lot. Communication is key with him. The class itself is simple you usually do assignments in which you look into news articles and you write about it. He does assign mcgrawhill which can sometimes take a while to do but it's always 100% so it's easy! Tests are taken at home and are pretty simple.

He is truly an amazing professor, best I ever had at Delta, he's so sweet and caring and cares abt every single student, if you talk to him after class and ask for ANY kind of advice he will spend about 30 mins just yapping. Hes also super hilarious and makes his lectures fun. Most importantly his classwork is easy, its alot but easy.

Online lectures are broken up into a bunch of short recordings which can be annoying. The lectures were mainly good for seeing what he emphasized as the most important. But as long as you read the textbook chapter each week the tests were fairly easy. I found it to be a relatively easy class and prof Blank is responsive if you need help.

Lots of reading but you can get it done very easily if you separate it by days. Kind and very respectful and his videos are so helpful and informative. not a hard grader just pay attention to his lectures and reading you will do great. he gives you the opportunity to do extra credit as well! Great professor and overall easy!

Dr. Blank's POLSC1 course is easy from an International Baccalaureate alumni standpoint, as most assignments are easy. This course requires and relies on the McGraw-Hill POLSC textbook and recorded lectures for homework, quizzes, and the final. OPVCLs (look it up) for news articles are also assigned. Accepts late work; docks 10% points per day.

Dr. Blank is a decent professor, some students don't like the class cause it's heavy with material but you learn a lot of history and governments of different countries in a detailed manner so. The group project was kind of fun though if you do join don't be underprepared, be ready for presentations and actually learn the material. Lots of quizzes

As a virtual college student and current disability rights self-advocate, I can honestly say that I really enjoyed Professor Blank's American Government course. The class is heavily based on lectures and reading, including not just the McGraw-Hill assigned textbook but also internet articles for specific assignments. Otherwise, not bad.
