He is a smart guy, he just has trouble trying to make his point clear. If you take notes and read the chapters, you should do fine. Gradewise: 3 exams and 3 homework assignments.
I think he know what he is talking about, but for some reason, cannot explain his points properly. There is alot of formulas, no formula sheets for the exams THAT SUX! He offers no extra credit, and the HW questions are some what unclear, you can take him, but if your expecting an easy A...that ain't happening BUDDY!!!!!...lol
Joel, knows what he is talking about but like the others have said he is sometimes hard to understand. Took this class with Gummerson and failed it misserably, but going to pass with him mostly because he is reasonable on his exams and goes at a pace that is good for the class. Take him over the others for this class.
He's young & unexperienced when it comes to teaching. Not good at explaining the material. His homeworks are LONG, TIME CONSUMING & HARD. Tests are hard too, they're short answers no multiple choice! so you really need to know the material. He curves, which is kind of nice. nice guy & easy to talk to. Not an easy class though ...
He teaches the traditional way, no Power point. He will give u HW assignments that prepare for the exams; if u do the HW and understand it you will get a good grade in class. He will curve and is always willing to help students. Please there is no need for a formula sheet if you know the material…. He is the best….
He was great,I would definately recomend him.He gives a hw before the exam and there are three, his exams are mostly like the hw.He's available to help always, he's so helpful. He gives great notes and is so easy to understand, you really just have to put your effort b/c he even curves the exams...I actually learned something, take him. I got a B.
This guy is a horrible teacher. Yeah hes smart and knows what he is talking about, but he is a horrible lecturer and cannot explain anything. His homeworks are long and annoying and his tests are preety hard! Good advice: TAKE SABET INSTEAD OF HIM!!!
He knows the material but can't really teach that well. Just copy what he writes on the board, and figure out on your own what the material is along with the book. His class is heavily based on teaching yourself, which proves it by his grading system, 30% on homeworks for the overall. the homeworks are EXTREMELY LONG. Overall he's an ok prof though
The 50 minute class seems like it lasts forever. He is a REALLY fair grader..all his tests are curved. It's a hard class though...and he doesnt do a very good job explaining/teaching. Take this class only if you have to.
By far the best Economics teacher you could ask for. If you care about your grades and want to actually pass an Econ class, take it with Carton. Do the homework like it was a take home exam and when the actual exam comes around, you'll ace it. Show up to class because his lectures are thorough and informative. If you show him you care, he will too.
He is a pretty good teacher. Go to class, take good notes, ask questions if you don't understand something, and you should be fine.
HE IS A GREAT TEACHER, STUDY HIS NOTES AN YOU'LL BE ALRIGHT. Remember taht economics is a hard class, i think he tries to make it easier for his student. Overall good teacher.
He is a reasonable professor. He will not spell out the answers to you and he is not openly friendly/social with students. However, he is always available outside of class. If you study, read chapter and DO homework - you can do well. He is not that bad.
He is a reasonable teacher, curves alot but his tests are tough and has a problem when it comes to explaining the material. He is overall good but you got to study and do all the HWs to get a good grade. He knows what he's teaching and is alway willing to help. i recomend him!!!
This teacher is pathetic. He walks in and starts lecturing without caring if the students are even in the class. He thinks he is the biggest thing ever.
At first it might be difficult to understand his lectures but once you get a hold of it, it becomes really easy. Do the homework, take notes, and read the portions that are not clear from the book and you should get a good grade. I did learn a lot and he is a very nice guy
Great way of teaching. He explains well and give mathematical examples. The exams are straight from the class notes. Because it was a summer class he did not assign homework. Istead he gave us problems to work on before each exam. His grading system is very very fair from my point of view. I will take him again for any other eco class.
Even though microeconomics is not that hard to understand, Joel seems to make it as complicated as it can get. If you actually read the material you understand everything so easily. Make sure you attend the first couple of weeks because he does take attendance! Definitely eye candy!
He explains very well, if you take notes and study the practice problems you can't get anything lower than an A or B. He uses aplia.com and it helps you understand as well as your grade.
If you already understand economics that go ahead and take him. If not than beware! He knows his stuff he just doesn't know how to explain it. Notes and Aplia assignments do not help on test. HIRE A TUTOR OR don't expect to understand anything in the class. Only reason I stayed in his class is becuz he does curve the test..sometimes by 15points :-P
He knows his stuff but do know how to explain it well. He doesn't really address the class. The class is boring. Tests are ok, but do study and make sure you do the homework.
Professor Carton is a very nice guy however is teaching style is very boring, his notes are extremely helpful if you can stay awake through his lectures, however he uses aplia assignments which are worth 30% of the grade and gives us review questions before each test and curves, so i would definitely take him again if i could. i recommend him
very smart guy, but can't teach! not easy to understand for those who have no previous knowledge of the topic. the lecture was boring, and his explanations are drawn out and complicated. make sure to do the aplia assignments! read the text book--its the only way i understood any of the material.
While he is boring, he is undeniably intelligent and knows his stuff. He almost lectures as if he were a robot. The lectures are boring, but helpful to attend to further cement what the textbook teaches you. The textbook is great - it explains everything better than the professor.
Seems to be a little nervous around other human beings. Teaches facing the board or walls and will say anything to get out of a conversation. However, his lectures are the only way to learn. Doesn't even remotely follow the book.
This guy is the epitome of a geeky dweeb, with the robotic skills to match. Besides not having any recognizable human emotions, his lectures are boring and he does not give 2nd chances or extra credits. Aplia assignments are hard (there are 10 of them, 1 due each week)exams are far from easy and I went to every class.
his classes are boring and its very easy to drift into your own world if you dont pay attention from the beginning. he writes EVERYTHING down on the board which makes for great test reviews. he uses aplia which counts for 30% of your grade. try to avoid him!
His classes are a bit boring but his notes are very helpful! He gives a lot of notes in class. Do the Aplia assignments and the assigned homework problems as a study guide for tests and you're guaranteed an A. He curves, which is always helpful!
Boring lecture, says "uhhhh" about a million times every lecture. I found myself reading the chapters rather than listening to him for exams. The recommended study questions for chapters helped me alot for exams. The best part is, he curved our two exams about 15 points each! If this is pre-req for you, I recommend him. Hes easy, just do hw & study
Somewhat Easy class, 1 hw assignment as week on APLIA that counts for 30% of your grade(pretty easy.) 3 tests, all stuff you can study for off the book and the homework and the practice aplia stuff. Somewhat easy class!
dashing good looks, if you didn't understand the graphs, at least you could look at his tight pants. but in all honesty, he explained things thoroughly, curves all test grades, the aplia really isn't that difficult if you GO to class and write down the notes he puts on the board. usually takes attendance...he's hot.
If I had a dime every time he said "um" or "uh", I'd be a millionaire. Classes drag and he is very unhelpful. He never responds to e-mails and was quite condescending when I tried talking to him outside of class. Try another professor if you can.
Study before you go to class so things are going to fit much better, exams are fair, make sure you do YOUR BEST for the applia assigments, at the end it will make the difference. I got an A, by doing homework, going to class, reviewing notes, and paying attention. Is not a hard class, but just practice as much as you can. Memorize graphs help alot!
This prof is good. If you go to class, take his notes, and do the homework, you'll be fine for the exams. If you study the hw and notes, you are SET for the exam. It can't get any easier than that. He's also really helpful with explaining the hw. Idk why everyone else is complaining. Taking him now for ECO3203 as well and it's going well! :D
Amazing Teacher! if you like economics then take him! pretty clear explanations and easy to talk to. the class is kind of hard but if you pay attention and take good notes you'll be fine! there are three HWs which are really long but they are exactly as the three tests he gives out. can't wait to take Intermediate micro with him. HE curves.
Class is pretty easy, but the lectures can be boring. Don't buy book! Have to sign up for Applia $80 and it has online book. Goto class, take notes, due Applia assignmets, should be easy A. If you dont goto class and just read chapters and due Applia assignments, should be able to get B. Those who complain about Prof. Probably did nothing.
If you hate Economics at all and need to take this class, you might as well take it with him. Theres online hw which is 30% of grade, 3 tests (2 are averaged together and there's a final) He takes the better of the two (the two midterms averaged and the final) and makes that worth 45% and the other 25%. Passable, just read study & do hw.He curves!
Do Aplia assignments, get his notes, study a little for tests, and you'll be fine.
Very Good lecturer, sticks to the book alot. HW not too bad. Most of the test's material comes straight from the notes, so its a good idea to attend class. Test is M/C. Overall very good micro prof.
do not take him! applia assigments are a pain in the ass, they are difficult and so loooong!!! classes are boring. he doesn´t look at the audience and doesn´t care about anyone. he just wants to get the class over with!
Keep up with the assignments and you'll do fine. Took this class online for Summer B last year, alot of material but definitely doable, I got an A.
I love him...
He's cute. End of story. :-) It also helps that he knows his stuff.
BORING CLASS!!! Aplia assignments are annoying and test would have to be curved in order for 80% of the class to get a C. Good professor's should have to curve for the class to do "average".
It is annoying how he doesn't look at the audience and he talks SUPER FAST. The classes are boring and you have at least 2 Aplia Assignment home works every week which are annoying b/c people do work and have a life. NOT AN EASY CLASS!! The Class average is a C (with a curve)
If you want to learn Economics. Take this professor. Makes his own tests and does not uses TEST-Banks a great plus. Really anal about details on the test. The bad no calculator.
Lectures by the book alot, test mainly deal with notes and chapters. If u read the CHPTR, HW is simple!! Hey, the Curves are quite delightful.. Lectures a bit boring, but lots of info... one won't fail this class if one puts in a little work!!
Very knowledgable about the subject, while he follows the book he doesn't follow it word for word. Knows what he's talking about and willing to answer any and all questions (and has answers to all of them!). One of the best teachers I've had in college. Strict, fair, and an excellent professor.
I think I am the only person in FIU that finds him soo cute. Anyways, I took him last year for principles and that was a breeze. Took him again this year for intermediate micro and it was a lot more difficult. Still, if you go to class and study your notes, then you will surely pass. I never opened the book.
Took him for Topics in Theory: Mathematical Econ. Fairly straightforward and easy class. Go to class everyday and take good notes and study a couple hours the day before the test and you will pass. Some of the HW problems are very difficult but he gives you solutions after you turn them in so you can study for test. Nice guy. Would recommend.
I really enjoy this class a lot! When i came in i didn't really care about economics, but i took it to learn and it has been very helpful. Homework is easy if you pay attention and its overall an interesting class that everyone should have to take! always willing to answer questions, best economics teacher!
Hes kind of monotone, but besides that he knows his stuff. i spent most of the class checking him out anyway.
Study the homework and you will do fine on the exams. Know your calc!
Joely was may i say beautiful. He was a great micro teacher! do the questions prior to the exams. I got a B because i burnt out with the amount of classes i took! DONT MISS CLASS, YOU'LL LOSE EVERYTHING TOWARDS THE END. OH! did i mention he was super cute! made econmics even better!!
Prof Carton is really clear and concise with his teaching, he adheres to the syllabus almost to a tee. The book is helpful but most importantly go to class, ask questions and do the homework... and get ready to do tons of it, will take about two weeks to complete each assignment but assuming you do them and understand them you'll be fine on test.

Awesome Class, hot teacher. can't believer he has no hot peppers for hotness!
AMAZING! Super knowledgable, super clear. His homeworks are online, you have more than one chance per problem but they are very helpful towards the test which is very very fair. He writes notes on the board which is awesome since he explains everything step by step. AND hes super cute! TAKE HIM!!!
Very clear and cute! Homeworks are killer if you decide to procrastinate, but they are all useful for the exams. I promised myself to take every class offered under him (b/c that's how good he is). Con: he seems a little standoffish, but I don't mind.
dunno what these people are posting here but its far from right. had him in spring. this guy is boring! i took him thinking his exam is just like hw. It wasnt. take alfonso take anybody but this guy. i passed but will never take him again. and most in my class thought the same. period.
I will have to disagree with the previous commentator. I also took him in the spring, and although I didn't find him to be the easiest, he's very helpful in class, the notes he provides are EXTREMELY helpful and if you take the class seriously (as all econ majors should), then you will get a good grade. Otherwise, you will get the grade you deserve
The guys says "um,uh" about 80 times in a 50 miniute time span which leads to 400 times a week, simple math, which gets mand annoying. Hes smart and knows his stuff, but tests are a little hard. Then again its economics not finger painting.
The best Econ professor at FIU. By far the best in clarity and making sure the students learn. His HWs are extremely hard but extremely helpful for the tests. No need to buy any book with him, again he es very clear in his examples and his tests are based on the HWs,
This class was not easy nor a walk through. The midterms and final exams are based off of the problem sets and the notes he gives in class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but to pass the class I would suggest you go to class. His notes are really important. I only used the textbook for the online learning curve assignments. He's a good professor.
Best economics professor I've ever had. His class is not a walk through the park so get ready to work. Homeworks are given about two weeks in advance but not because he is being nice; you need the two weeks to complete the homework unless you want to pull a couple of all nighters. If you want to learn then this is the professor to take hands down.
I know everyone hates this guy but I looked forward to his class all semester! Don't miss class! Pay attn! He answers ALL questions about the hw in class! It's his policy! I wish I could take him for every class! What a genius! The only thing was the last hw; he doesn't have time to cover solow's model. Hint: S•Yss=(n+d.r.)•Kss ... The solve for Kss (steady state capital) lol. But he's a great teacher take him and obey! Haha
don't expect an easy Economics course!! I learned a lot in this class with this professor. The HW is really hard, make sure you start doing it early and it helps a lot for the test!!!!
He is by far one of the best econ professors I've ever had. Go to class, study by the homework and you will find the class really helpful. I Love him.
Very clear lectures. The homework is a mirror of the test so if you do the homework you will do fine on the tests.
3 big hmwks that set you up for As on all 3 tests, but must study. He's always open to answering questions or repeating something. Easily accessible. Must read book if you don't show up to class. Grading system is amaazing! Just do better than the class avg and you're set. That alone makes it clear he only wants to help you and make you learn.
He is a very good teacher. I already took 2 classes with him and I really learn. Also, the way that he explains makes the class easy and interesting at the same time. You should take his classes.
This Professor is... frustrating. The methods and formulas he teaches does not translate well going into other economic classes. My biggest gripe is availability. During the finals week I tried to email him, visit his office during office hours, contact his teaching assistant, and finally contact his cell phone number. NO RESPONSE. Terrible person
Joel Carton is the best economics professor in FIU. So far he's the only economics professor where I actually learned something, instead of just memorizing. His homeworks are extremely long but worth 30% of your grade. DO THEM! They're extremely helpful for the exams. and are in a way your study guides.
This is one of the best professors in FIU period. Very knowledgable. Knows his subject matter forwards and backwards. Best class I've ever taken. Learned a lot. Had to work hard for my grade, but once you leave the class you know you've EARNED your grade. Tests take up the entire class time and they are ALL LONG response.
Dr. Carton is a fantastic teacher. His lectures are extremely clear, and the homework is phenomenal practice for the test. If you do the work and study the answer keys he posts after the homework is collected, the there is no way you can get anything lower than an A.
The tests are almost identical to the homework. There's no way you'd do poorly on test if you understand the homework and he will give you the answers in class to any homework questions if you just ask. He also doesn't waste time going over information that won't be on the homework or tests like some professors. Going to class is important to pass!
3 tests and 3 hw that are extensively long. Do not procrastinate! The only good side is the tests are identical to the hw but you have to get thru them first. Don't miss class b/c u will be lost. The work is hard but he is always helpful during office hours and is very clear. No book needed just his notes. Fair scale with top 20% getting an A
Prof Carton clearly knows his stuff. He explains the material much better than the book, so I never used it, just went to class. Not the most exciting guy but he's very clear. 3 homeworks are long and really hard, but worth it b/c the tests come straight from the HW. Would recommend.
People are not robots, but he's still able to navigate around the math heavy subject matter without stumbling too much. Economics is an art and is often left to the interpretation to the performer. The lectures are just supplementary to the reading. You can't rely on a single person's interpretation for a complete understanding of the material.
Tough material to process. Covers each topic thoroughly. Lectures are meant as a supplement. Corrections and interpretations are given in lectures and may differ from text. Attendance is a must if you're serious about passing.
I have took him for this course awhile ago, he's a good professor. Never took him for Banking but ppl say its good too but his Math Econ class was hard so if you're reading this, takeMacro with him, not Math Econ. The lectures good, the HW is just likeExams. Btw top 20% get A's, and I will say that some students act like unaware UNTS to get that A
He is a very good professor and he is very smart and know a lot about the content. Don't miss a class because he has his on models. Pay attention and take notes. 3 big homework ( do not procrastinate) 2 tests + cumulative final.
If you attend his lectures and take good notes, you will definitely pass. If you want to get an A, all you need to do is go through the homework a few times and do the problems over a few times. There will be no questions that are out of nowhere. He gives you the right answers to the homework a few days prior to exams. Overall great professor.
Really don't understand what made him become a professor, bc he doesn't know how to teach at all. He won't interact with students or take any questions and cancels classes at least once a week. He is a even worse academic advisor if you are unlucky enough to encounter him. Stay clear of taking ECON classes at FIU!
Great Professor. Pay attention and pay attention to the homeworks. Very important to take the Hw seriously. He is always open to helping out and is a great professor overall. Do not be shy to visit him during office hours to explain the homework or concepts you didnt pick up in class.
Overall, not my preferred style of lecturing. He barely even looks at his students in the eye when interacting in class and seems to be lecturing to himself rather than to others. Some tests are based off the homework, though some tests may contain significantly more difficult material. I usually enjoy economics classes but this one was gruesome.
Attendance isn't required but if you miss more than a class a week you'll probably feel a bit lost. Dr. Carton is a great lecturer but fails to organize the class or give clear directions or expectations. Though I made a significant jump in my grade after the final exam I was confused to as how he gave final grades without posting exam grades.
I thought he was a good professor. He's definitely not hard at all and I am being honest. If you do the HW well, you'll get an A on the exams. 3 Hws, 3 Exams. The exams are LITERALLY the homeworks just a lot shorter. I never read the text book, waited till the last week to do the HW, showed up to 66% of class and got a B. Imagine if I tried!!
He does not respond to your emails, his test are homeworks have nothing to do with each other.
All he does is talk and talk. His lectures and the homework are completely different. The tests are mostly based off the homework so that's your best method of studying. Honestly would not recommend him
His online class is poorly handled. No response to emails, no type of contact whatsoever. Seeing that his lecture is just as bad. Dont take unless ur confident in taking this course truly by yourself
I think he is very uncaring: 1) Never respond to emails. 2) Misses classes and then acts like it never happen, not even a single email. 3) Leaves student alone on final exam, for 20min, bc he wanted to eat chick-filla. 4) Prints exams with half the questions missing.
I don't understand all the negative feedback. The class was typical: lectures, take notes, do homework, and take a test. He gives three homework assignments and three exams. The HW is literally a copy of what will be on the exam. Lectures really helped, he answers any question. He's a little awkward but nice and fair.
He is a fantastic intructor. He was hilarious and remained enthusiastic while giving lectures. Further, he responded to all of his emails quickly and went into great depth while doing so. He provided the class with many online resources to prepare for the exams. Anyone who gave this man a negative review is uncomfortable with human interactions.
He is better for advanced class and actually tried to teach economics unlike other professors and if you study you will pass and his tests are easy if you know it
study study study be his chill
My first bad professor sadly. When life events happen (as they will) he doesn't seem to care or show any sympathy. Rude in emails (when he chooses to respond). If you take this online you are on your own, his exams are not like the homework and he doesn't give any study guides. He gave us notes but you can barley make out what they say. Tough class
If you take this class online BEWARE. His exams are taken through honorlock which you have to PAY $13 for EACH exam. On top of that all his homework is on a site you have to pay for $120 to do your hw (book included). So be ready to pass this class because it a freaking investment
DANG, i took this professor and the whole year I went through complete stress. He is nearly impossible to contact and the homework assignments that are given out are nowhere near even close to the exams he gives. He curves the exams by 10+ points, thats a good thing, but its because he knows how poorly people learn. However he explains concepts WELL
Not a good teacher at all.
do not take this man. He does NOT care if his whole clas's test average is 43%. 3 hws & 3 tests, he expects you to know everything even when he explains it badly. Isn't the best lecturer, the HWs are NOT like the exams. The top 20% of the class gets A's, the next 20% get B's & so on. He's extremely stubborn about his policies/won't change anything!
Great all around professor, goes over the practical aspects of linear algebra and optimization. Dense subject so need to study. Homework takes a while.
Do not take this class unless you want to teach yourself everything. He doesnt teach, he uses Cengage for everything. The only thing hell post is notes for each chapter, but good luck trying to read them looks like chicken scratch to me. He doesnt answer emails either. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PROF!!!!
Ur grade is based on everyone elses grade:A is the top 20% of scores throughout all his classes & so on, which explains why tests are very hard. 3 hws & 3 tests. Lectures the whole class, better take notes, and study them very well. You can't just study the day or two before, you won't do well. HWs are the closest thing to a study guide/mosthelpful
Please listen to my review- do yourself a favor and find another professor for this class. Uses Cengage which costs money for all assignments 1 per week with 1 practice assignment. 3 big exams on honorlock & he curves exams-that was the only way I passed. Tests do not match his assignments, he barely does anything as a teacher, notes are trash.
This Professor is by far one of the worst Ive had. He doesnt care about the class or the students. He uses mindtap and lets you figure out everything on your own. Hes so bad that he has to curve all of his exams. The curves are more than 20 points. He doesnt help with reviewing for the exams. He wont give you a guide to study from. Really bad.
It was a remote class, you need to read the textbook before class. He will just split us into groups and let us work on a question from the practice problems. Skip two classes, automatically gets F. He didn't even lecture, it was just self learning, I could barely read his notes or understand his explanations. Doesn't care about his students.
the classes weren't even classes at all, he just gave us econ problems to solve ourselves, and with little feedback. he expected for us without cero knowledge of the class at all to read and just be able to do the problems and exam like that. Not enough to only read his notes whitout him giving actual classes of the subjects.
If you plan on taking this class online, be prepared to teach yourself. Uses Mindtap and only does HW and exams. HW is 30% and exams are 70% but he does curve and most curves seem to be about 20 points. Exams are honorlock and expects you to memorize formulas, no cheat sheets allowed and no study guide. I used the practice tests on Mindtap to pass.
You basically have to rely on the book and teach yourself. The only thing he provides are handwritten notes that you can barely read. The homework is on Mindtap and it's 30% of the grade. The other 70% are from the 3 exams. The only good part about him is that he curves the exams by like 20 points because everyone fails them. I don't recommend.
Just plain awful. First, he makes you buy access to a $120 course that could've been done on canvas. Your grade is also heavily based on his three exams and at the end of the semester, he didn't even drop the lowest two homework grades as he says he would in his syllabus.
This professor is awful, gives extremely hard homework and exams, and when you try to reach out for help. he immediately shuts you down and dismisses what you have to say. The class is basically self-taught; the one good thing about the class if he gives a nice curve which I appreciate and I'm sure other students did as well.
Terrible terrible terribleee!! . Dont take him if you care about your mental health lol. He does not care about anything you may ask for and if you do he will strong arm you into dropping it or simply dismiss you only what he says matters. Be ready to study because this class is completely self-taught.
Though course
Gives good notes during lectures and he is very helpful in office hours. Teaches everything in class that will be on the homework and tests. Only 3 HW and 3 Tests. Do the homework and you'll be read for the tests.
Good professor. You'll do well if you go to class, take notes and study at least the night before the tests. Focus on formulas and theories and you'll pass.
I transferred from another university to FIU to study economics in my home town. Dude had no sympathy for anything. Asked if i could speak to him privately and he stopped the entire class to take me outside where he told me no way for anything (past drop period). 5 homework 5 tests and fast pace lectures with no supplemental info. Discouraging.
Professor Carton uses MindTap, and you pretty much have to teach yourself. This class consisted of reading the chapter, doing the homework alongside it, and looking up vids. He posts pdf of notes but theyre overwhelmingly confusing. Hard to learn with his method. Never heard his voice or saw his face once. Be ready to teach yourself numbers.
Professor is not respectfull , never answered emails, test matter a lot, honorlock for everything
The professor was kind based on the emails. Tests were 75% of the grade. All study materials were useless. He curved exams so the grade average was 75%. Dropped two lowest hw grades and gave an optional exam that could replace your lowest test grade. You had to pay for each test and the homework which was insane. It was just insanely difficult.
If you didn't like him or do well, it's your fault. His lectures explicitly laid out what was on the hw and exams, and he was extremely accessible outside of class to clear up anything you didn't understand. I learned so much from him and critically engaged with econ in a way I hadn't with other professors. If you want to actually learn, take him!
He is often very rude and has no problem calling students out in front of the entire class. His lectures are dry and can be quite boring, and the exams are challenging. You'll definitely need to put in a lot of effort and study hard to succeed in his course. I would NOT take him if I were you.
This class is mostly self-taught - the professor provides minimal guidance, but the mandatory textbook and Mindtap assignments are helpful. While exams are challenging, the generous curves make it doable. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for practice and review.
This professor literally canceled the vast majority of the online class student's test scores for "cheating" when he barely showed up to the office hours let alone provided any evidence for any instances of students cheating in his course. We're currently filing a complaint with the Division of Student Affairs because of these situations we faced.
Avoid this professor by any means necessary! He literally would accuse students for cheating out of nowhere and with very little evidence and he failed most of the class at the very last moment after grade finalization was due (5/1). He is terrible and doesn't even show up to the office hours he hosts on Friday.
Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!! He is disrespectful and very unprofessional... He accuses you of cheating with no evidence just based off what he thinks. I belive he is miserable and wants to take it out on students.. Waits until the last minute to grade have you stressed because he graded assignments at the deadline of grades then change after deadline
If you want to fail and have a low gpa go ahead and take him! His class was awful and difficult for no reason! I've had sleepless nights because of him and also I dropped for my own mental health with this guy. 0/10
I've never written a review before, but I feel I have to now — this is by far the worst teacher I've ever had.
