Easy class. Just lecture. He gives everyone an outlined copy of his lecture for every section. He also records his lectures. You take a quiz once a week with 10 questions, but if you buy the study guide book he gets his questions straight from it and the answers are in the back. Tests are easy if you do the questions in his outline. No homework.

Dr. Gober is rarity when it comes to biology classes. Im not saying that there arent any professors who provide as much help as Gober does or a professor whom you can actually ask questions but Dr. Gober is very very nice. Mr. Gober is a fair teacher. There is a quiz every week in lab and he will give you a good idea what is on each quiz. He likes to use diagrams on his test and some of the test questions from the back of the chapters. His test are decent, if you study you can get a good grade. Just make sure you remember precisely what is on each diagram.

Teaching style is vague and you mostly have to teach yourself the majority of the concepts. Questions online are great for practice and helpful but somewhat not relevant to exams. Really nice guy but teaching style can be better. If you want to teach yourself then take this class, if you actually want to learn take someone else.

ok this guy was good because he had all the test questions on the notes and you go over them after every chapter! however the damn diagrams are so irritating there are like four or five on every exam. you must know all of them!!!

breakdown of exams: 75% of course grade - 1/3 to 1/2 of the questions will come from the MC question at the end of each chapter, 1/3 from the figures in the book, and the rest from his lecture/reading. keep up with the reading and don't miss too many lectures and you won't have to study too hard. Great teacher. very helpful and always willing to answer any question and doesn't make you feel stupid. He doesn't lecture to you thinking that you know everything. Everyone's had that science teacher that expects you to be at their level (*cough* Stephanie Nobles *cough*) and he surely isn't one them.

Dr. G is a great teacher! Anyone looking to take Bio classes urged to take them with him. He gives you handouts and basically goes off them for exams.. He also records his lectures and puts them in the library for you to upload.

I wish I wouldn't have dropped based on another teachers opinion. I would have passed but he is just an AMAZING teacher. Willing to go above and beyond for people. Dr Gober is a great teacher. Anyone who wants to take bio 210/231 should take bio 160 with Dr Gober first. This class will help you very much.

Dr. Gober is a great professor. This is a hard, I repeat "hard" class. There is a LOT of work involved. However, you also learn a LOT, and essentially, that's what it's all about. Therefore, if you are a diligent student who is willing to put a lot of effort into a class, Dr. Gober will give you all of the tools and support necessary to succeed.

There is a lot of diagrams to memorize, so make sure you have the time. I ended up with an A in the class. I DID NOT read the book, I just studied the lecture notes. Do the chapter review multiple choice. Most likely it'll show up on the exam. Study all the diagrams. They WILL show up on the exams.

Class is hard. Will get more than your money's worth. Read, listen, study his diagrams and online questions, and do it all over again.. you will get an "A". Awesome teacher.. Take advantage of his office hours, SI sessions, and ask questions. Class is do-able w/ part-time job. Good Luck!

One of the best professors I've had. Spends ample time to help students understand material. Always available during office hours. Has a clear systematic approach to teaching. Thorough at teaching physiology. I'm a nursing student now, and I'm thankful I took Prof. Gober and his teaching method. Otherwise I would be so lost in my classes now!

If you can not get A in his class, you are not studying. I took his class, Anatomy and Physiology. The tests are so easy.I got 98 percent from Anatomy, and 100 percent from Physiology. I usually read a book twice and memorize all back chapter quiz and diagram. You will at least get A minus by doing this.

This is my second sem taking his hybrid bio class and wish he were teaching Micro! Examples and lectures are clear. Memorized practice quiz questions, chapter review questions and pictures on study guides and reviewed lectures. Seems like a lot of work b/c of weekly online & lab quizzes...got an A in both anatomy & physio while working F/T.

Professor Gober is awesome. HARD - but awesome. Definitely need to study and attend class. Memorizing is a must. I worked part-time and took another 4 unit class and spent a lot of time studying to get a B. Online and lab quizzes were easy. Practicums were intimidating but not bad. Lecture tests were what killed me. Study, study, study! Good luck!

I really loved him as a teacher. I drove 40 min every t&th just to attend his class. Physiology is not an easy subject, so don't expect to walk in there and get an A. It does take effort. Do his study guides and if you need help go to his office hours. Attendance is mandatory & if you don't go to class he will drop you.

Awesome professor! Everything is online, and the book is seldom used. However, you have to do your part to get the grade you deserve! Going to SI helps since the questions you see from the worksheets occasionally pop out on the lecture exam. You should definitely take him!! One of the best!

Gober is a great prof. He knows the subject like no other. He's patient and really nice. Never seen him mad! The class is hard, but he's willing to help. And he's got a good sense of humor too!

Okay. I am still in his class but WOW. he is really an amazing instructor. We all know that anatomy is a hard subject to learn, regardless of the teacher. He is so helpful, extremely nice and overall a great person! always answers to emails in a short time. love him !

It was a Hybrid Class. Online & 2 hrs in class & 3 hrs of lab/wk. He is a good teacher. READ ALL the BOOK!!! DO the STUDY GUIDE, MEMORIZE the Diagrams! I MEAN EVERYTHING! It's the hardest class I have EVER taken. I had to learn how to study differently. Extra Credit = 3pts tops. He needs to redo his study guide to match the book. It is NO JOKE!

This phys class has some online elements to it-There are quizzes you MUST complete weekly. Seriously, they are only 5 points but may kill your grade if you miss several. FIRST EXAM IS HARDEST! They get gradually easier as time goes on! STICK WITH IT! By last two exams you ONLY need to memorize online quizzes, review Qs in book and FIGURES! DO IT!

Read the lecture notes and whatever that doesn't make sense, go to your textbook and read it until you understand. Focus on his study guide. A lot of the questions, I mean A LOT of questions come from the study guide.

He's a really smart teacher and is very helpful. However he does expect you to know a lot of information and he always says "As long as its in the book or lab, I can test you on it." Expect to study at least 2 hours everyday, it's a lot of info to retain. Also do the study guides and memorize all the figures on them. Not an easy class but doable!

Dr. Gober is an excellent teacher. He is always willing to help and is clear in content in his lectures and lab practicums. Does not give out a lot of extra credit and be prepared to study A LOT! This is not a class you can cram for the night before. Make sure to study. Make sure to do the study guides it is a big help.

Dr. Gober is so cool! I loved being in his class, he speaks so clearly and clarifies any questions you have, the best time to get help is in lab. It's not an easy class but if you follow his study guides and really study the figures in lab, you'll pass. Labs are boring but his personality makes the class bearable. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend any of Dr. Gober's classes. Weekly online quizzes. Don't miss any of them! Exams are multiple choice and he uses the practice quizzes (easy and hard) as well as the weekly quiz questions for most of the exam. Study the exam figures religiously. Lab was very enjoyable. Weekly lab quizzes required studying for an easy A.

Dr. Gober is really helpful and really nice & a great professor. His first exam was hard. But I usually don't do well on first exam so I don't want to say it is not easy but personally, it was not easy for me. After that, I learned how to study for the class. Being able to listen to his lecture helped me clarify materials that I don't understand.

1) DO THE STUDY GUIDES because the questions WILL be on the exams, then reread lecture notes for those addl questions he throws into exam. 2) Get 100% on all your lab quizzes based on diagrams. 3) Do the weekly assignments EARLY or else you WILL forget! 4) Do the hmwk despite not being collected because it allows you to engage in the lecture.

Do the study guides! Most of the questions on the lecture exam are from the study guides and a few from the lecture outline! He posts really helpful videos on BB for the lab practicums. Super nice guy, funny in a dorky way, and very helpful if you ask! I was able to slide by with an A thanks to some extra credit he decided to give us at the end.

This is a nursing pre-req so it's not easy by any means. He does lecture as he goes but covers all the main points. His extra help by websites and videos are amazing, as are his study guides. You have to take the time for this class, I mean 15 hrs/wk minimum. Don't slack, do the study guides, study and you will be good!

Dr Gober is an amazing instructor. Everyone hates the diagrams but it's funny how those diagrams stick in your head and you end up pulling back those images in nursing school. If you want to do well in his class, just study the Quizlets that were created for his class religiously. Oh and take Dr. Le for lab. Work hard and kill it.

Do his study guides! Doing them takes time though! Don't take this class if you're not willing to put the time in. It requires study time. This isn't your average entry level class. Lots of information to cover. If you fall behind - DONT! If you're on the waitlist, show up to the lab times because that's where he will add you NOT lecture.

Dr. Gober is the best biology professor I've ever had. His lectures are thorough and he doesn't rush so you have time to grasp! He uploads 'fill-in-the-blank' notes so you don't spend all your time trying to scribble everything down. This is awesome so you can pay attention. He has corny jokes but it's cute and he's great at explaining concepts.

I took Dr. Gober for BIOL 231 in the summer of 2018, and then again for BIOL 241 in Fall 2018. I personally love his teaching style but dont expect an easy A- nor should you expect an impossible task ahead of you. Study all the materials given to you (Study Guides, Lecture Notes, and Online Practice Tests) and you should be good for his exams.

He's very good at breaking things down and giving you everything you need to succeed. Anatomy is hard however, so you have to put in the effort as the Prof Gober always puts in his part. He's very knowledgeable and always willing to help. He gives good, clear and straight forward lectures. Exams are difficult (as expected) but nothing surprising.

He is an amazing Professor there is no doubt about that but physiology is not easy so be ready to answer Clinical application style questions Gober has a great reputation and I would take him again because he facilitates topics BUT put the TIME into studying! I took this class online due to COVID. He posts lectures online for you to go over at your own pace. He has a clear schedule of what chapters should be done by when. Do not fall behind with lectures. He really wants you to learn and understand the material, because that is how it prepares you for BIO241. Put in the work, you will get the A.

Dr Gober Is an awesome professor who uses multiple tools to teach us the subject from. Studied Physiology with him for lecture, and another Professor for Phys Lab during Covid lockdown, so it was a High demand course. There was homework assigned, as well as virtual labs alongside both professors lectures. It is a very beneficial informative course.

Professor Gober is very smart on the topic of anatomy and was always willing to help or explain further. He gave us all the material we needed for the semester and it's all pretty easy to read and understand. No need to learn unnecessary material because he lets you know exactly what you'll need to study.

Dr.Gober makes it clear what to study for from day one! There's A LOT of info, study 8-12 hrs weekly. Try to think of the lecture info and practicum info as 2 separate courses. Ask questions he will happily answer, but YOU need to ask. There's some extra credit. All the answers are there, if you study the ch questions, ch review & watch the videos

He is an excellent instructor who simplifies and explains course material well. I recommend to watch the lecture videos and then study the study guide (bank of questions) thoroughly for lecture exams. Watching the practicum videos multiple times, and practicing naming parts using figures from the study guide for lab practicum. Easy A for endeavor!

Amazing professor & awesome class! Good video lectures available to view any time. In-person lab are basically self-study using txtbook and 3D models. Ask questions, he's very helpful! - 4 Practicums, memorize terms in lab manual. Watch the practicum videos! - 4 mult choice Exams, use study guides (lots of labeling figures) and txtbook questions.

Truly amazing professor who cares for his students. This class is very heavy in material (doesn't matter who you take) but Professor Gober is very helpful and will answer your questions thoroughly! He has informative lecture and practicum videos on canvas. 4 practicums, 4 exams, about 10 labeling quizzes and some extra credit. Funny guy too!

This is a very hard class, but this teacher is great. He simplified everything so well. There is a lot of memorization and long lectures. However, DO THE EXAM STUDY GUIDE. My goodness his lecture exams are based on that, please do them. The practicums are easy just memorize the lab manual. With enough effort, you can pass with a good grade.

Professor Joel is a hit-or-miss, but the textbook and unstuck ai are key for this class. Attend lectures to understand concepts, then use the study guides and practice questions to ace the exams. It's a tough but manageable A if you put in the work.

One advice for this class, DO HIS STUDY GUIDES AND THEN DO THEM AGAIN. His exam questions are straight from the book and he tells you in his study guides which questions/images will be on his test. Super easy A if you go to all labs, do his study guides, do all the ec he offers, and ask him questions. He is really great at explaining the material.

Anatomy is a busy class requiring self-discipline. If you do not know how to manage your time wisely, chances are one may fall behind with his lengthy lecture videos. I highly recommend to take pictures of the real models during lab. If you ask questions, it is quite doable. Lecture exams are worth most of your grade so stay on top of the videos.

Nice professor. Teaches what is necessary. Online lectures are long but helped a lot, practicums are not horrible, exams are hard but learn the study guides and review questions in chapters, those help. Just STUDY daily and you'll be fine. Difficult class so don't procrastinate. I have a B so far, so it's a doable class, hard, but doable.

If I got an A, anyone can. TIPS: Do his EC boost my grade up A LOT, review questions in the book are 50+% of the exam, plus study guide images guaranteed B+, label and rewrite labeled models for a lab exam A. I would just say the professor could remake his old videos for better quality. You got this guys it is hard but very manageable. :)
