Great class! Interesting stuff. He covers all the material in class and gives great examples. Book follows along with what is presented. The tests are not hard if you study and he has an easy paper and free attendance points just for being there. I got an easy B and learned a lot of interesting things about psychology. Recommended!!

Great teacher!!! I would totally recommend this teacher as long as you take all the notes and study them youll pass the exams. Theres only one paper and I got an A on it. Hes very clear and interesting to listen to.

Mr. L is an AMAZING teacher! Yes, it is gordon rule class so as long as you come to class, take your notes and study the material he gives you should pass. Textbook not necessary only bc his lectures cover all. Only 1 term paper req but topics are interesting. His lectures & examples are easy to understand. Would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!

I absolutely loved this class it was so interesting. Hes an excellent teacher! You don't ever use the book so don't buy it but that's only because hes gives a great lecture and notes so you don't need it. Just make sure u pay attention to the lectures and take your notes and that's all you need to pass his test and class with an A!

hes is the best professor ever. He makes it really simple to learn the material. He has detailed powerpoints and theres only 4 tests and a paper. He really wants everyone to succeed. Hes so funny too. Very comfortable atmosphere. Wish he taught more classes. HIGLY RECOMMENDED, you wont be sorrryyy!!

His class was kind of boring but if you take a lot of notes and study them you'll do good on his tests. 4 tests, he drops the lowest grade and NO cumulative exam. You have one sheet of questions to do but it was SUPER easy. I suggest this class.

Took Professor Lacivita at Polk State College(Lakeland) and although this class is very challenging because of all the reading, he was a very good teacher, with great notes that helped for each test!

Be ready to write or type the whole time, but he gives you all of the information that will be on the tests. Tests were easy, and he does inject some humor into some of the answers. Took this class once a week and it was interesting enough to make 3 hours fly by. As long as you are paying attention and attending class you will definitely pass!

I took him at Polk State and he is great. Prepare to write down all of the presentation slides. He has a dry sense of humor but made the class lol many times. He has a writing assignment out of the book that was fairly easy as long as you read the chapters needed. Tests were between easy and hard. This class was enjoyable for me.

I took his class for 3 1/2 hours for a summer class!! He was great. I fall asleep very easily in a boring class. He keeps the class up and alert and teaches very well with examples. Fully recommend

I had Prof. Lacivita @ Polk State. His class was interesting and I enjoyed it. Be prepared to write down all of notes from the presentations. A phone camera comes in handy too if you need to snap a pic of one of the slides. You will need to study and be prepared for tests. Written assinments are give at the start of the class to be turned in later.

Lacitiva is great professor and honestly one of my favorite professors I''ve had. His lectures are interesting but there are a lot of notes. He''s funny and also makes you enjoy the class. Not an easy A but not incredible tough either. Highly recommend this professor.

Took him a Polk State he is awesome! The lectures are long and you have to take alot of notes but he makes it very easy to where you can understand everything I got an A on every test and I only studied the day before the test.

The only time you NEED the book is for the one required writing assignment which is a sheet of questions you look up the answers to. Otherwise, all tests are based off of class lectures which you take notes on. I do recommend reading the book as well though. Prof Lacivita is very nice and very funny. Show up, pay attention, study, you'll do fine!

Fantastic professor - I had him for psychology and I loved going to that class every time. You do need to take a good amount of notes, but he makes it interesting so it's not a hassle at all. He is great at lightening the mood and has great stories that make the whole class laugh. He doesn't have to be strict with people so there's no awkwardness.

I took the fast track for this teacher at Polk State College and honestly he's great!! One of the best teachers I've had so far. He knows his stuff and everything you need for his exams are on the PowerPoint everything he tells you. He's kind of funny too. :) As long as you come to class and take notes and study, there's no way you will fail.

Professor Lacivita is a great teacher. All you really have to do is take notes off his slideshows and the rest is a cake walk if you just study the notes. He even tells you what to study. Any issues? Just email him and he'll get back to you.

This man is awesome, he drops the lowest grade, attendance is important because he uses them as points, test are tricky so you have fully understand his lectures, he tells you what's on the test, he's also very helpful, kind, and understanding! one of the best professors I've ever met! I was never bored in class, and he's pretty funny. You'll be taking a lot of notes, you only need the textbook for one assignment. There's only 4 tests, and they are pretty easy as long as you study. If he doesn't think you're paying attention or on your phone, he'll mark you absent for the day so participate in the discussions. Overall great prof.

I'm 54 and haven't been to school in yrs. I'm doing pre reqs. for my BSN. I found this professor teaching style to be easy to follow. lots of notes that's why you cant miss class. test are straight from his notes. not cumulative final exam. he test you on what is taught.

Prof. Lacivita is an alright teacher. Beware of the tests. To get a A, you really don't need to read the book, study everything in the lecture notes; and I mean everything! It's a pretty straightforward class.

In my class, we used the book once for a required book-work assignment. After a couple of chapter tests based STRICTLY on lectures, one may realize that they need to take really good notes to pass in his class. Class discussions are insightful and he's an overall funny guy; I enjoyed his lectures, the time always flew by.

Your grade is made up of 4 exams (you can drop your lowest grade from the first 3), your attendance and this question sheet he gives you to do instead of a term paper. You have like 2 months to do. Most of his classes are either lectures or tests. But what I liked was that he used a PowerPoint with his presentation which was SUPER helpful. He does a great job at explaining every subject and his tests are no surprise because he goes over them before giving them to you. 100% would take again.

professor lacivita is the best teacher ive had at hcc and I'm in my second year. He is a great lecturer and has a great way of teaching students with useful information. He seems like a pretty laid back and caring professor. If you show up and study you will get an A. I wish he taught other courses at hcc so I could take him again

WONDERFUL professor, he is very thorough and professional. Has great lectures and gives you time to write the notes. Attendance is graded. Textbook assignment is due early in the semester and took me a while to complete. He adds points to your grade if you do well. Interesting material. Has real world experience! Professor Lacivita was a wonderful teacher. His lectures are nicely organized, and he pauses during lectures so that everyone has enough time to take good notes. There was one hefty book assignment due somewhere around the middle of the semester, but as long as you don't put it off until a few days before it isn't bad at all.

Great professor!! Has a lot of experience in the psychology field and is very nice and funny. You have four exams, but you can drop the lowest scored. And one Gordon rule paper which is the only thing you need the book for. The paper is easy but takes time. every class you take notes & attendance is graded.

Professor lacivita is such a cool profesor ! He is really down to earth and chilled! His class is basically all notes so study the notes and u should pass his test! The book is not really needed but he encourages you to get it to you understand the material that is getting covered in class! I would definitely take him again! I highly recommend him

You need to make sure you attend all lectures since his test are based on the notes he gives. Try to write everything down, up to the little examples he gives because sometimes they appear as extra credit on the test.

His class is easy and as long as you take your notes from the lectures and show up, youll definitely pass, the tests come straight from the notes that make up majority of the class and he even gives extra credit opportunities.

Professor Lacivita is a good professor. He is pretty lecture-heavy so you have to come to class because he doesn't put the powerpoints on canvas, and all of his exams are based on the lectures. Some of his comments were kind of unprofessional & uncharacteristic of someone in his field (re: his opinion on the "r" word) but otherwise a solid choice

An outstanding professor! I loved this class. There is a lot of lecture but the notes are very detailed and it's very clear what is on the exams. There are also some in class activities and discussions. He has experience in the field and very knowledgeable in many areas. Has some interesting stories and a great dry sense of humor. He's very funny!

Took this class as a prerequisite but after taking it, I WISH I could study Psychology. This class was so insightful and valuable both for the credit and my personal life. You get so much out of his lectures, but you MUST attend class. His tests are not easy. If you want a good grade study the notes! Wonderful class though and underrated professor

Come to class, take notes of the power points and study them for the tests. He only has 1 homework assignment for the whole semester, which you use your book for. Not a very demanding class. I did enjoy Professors' real world scenarios related to the topics. Makes the class more interesting. I'd take him again.

I loved this class and I'm sad I had to take it online rather than in person. Every assignment was clear and to the point. His discussions allow you to explore your own thoughts rather than looking for a "yes or no". His exams clearly stated that the notes provided were exactly what will be used in the test so they were really easy to study for!

This teacher is wonderful it's very hard to find honest and caring professor these days. But you can tell that Professor Lacivita really loves his job and really cares about his students education. Also he's so easy to get ahold of and usually answers emails within the hour. Great professor!!! KUDO'S to him honestly.

This was a great class, easy to pass with the textbook and engaging discussion prompts. The final is essay is a 700-word essay about a psychological thriller movie of your pick from a huge list. Super fun class, would take again!

This class was enjoyable and informative because I had covid and missed a test without realizing that I did. He let me retake it. Although you do need the book, even though the answers are online, it all depends on you, and he has up to two essays Within your essays just make sure that you know what you're talking about.

Professor Lacivita was a smart and compassionate teacher all throughout my spring semester. If you do your work, and stay honest about your effort, he will work with you. He always answered my questions promptly, and always gave me chances to make my grade better. I really adored this class.

I took professor Lacivitas's course for my first class and it was great! He provides an online textbook. There were 5 discussions, 15-question quizzes on each chapter, and 45-question exams. Also a 700-word essay but it's pass-fail so as long as it's decent you will get full credit. Every exam and quiz is an open book. Definitely take this class!

FREE TEXTBOOK ONLINE, super easy class not many quizzes throughout the week and its open note. Almost at the end had to do an Essay but it was actually really easy. Never had to contact the teacher but everything is easy. Can pass the class with flying colors 10/10

This class was mostly quizzes with 4 discussions, 4 unit exams, and a final exam. There was also 1 essay but it was a pass or fail grade. The class was super straightforward and easy, it was probably the class that caused me the least stress. On top of that, the professor is super nice and friendly.

Professor Lacivita was one of the best professor's I've had during my time at HCC. He's very understanding and lenient especially when it comes to late work. All of his quizzes and exams are open-book, meaning if you just read you'll get a good grade in his class. However, most of this course is mainly self-taught but he is easy to contact.

This course has been my favorite so far and as long as you read the chapters in the free textbook, you will be fine. The professor allows open notes and is very kind when giving feedback.

Interesting and easy online class. There were 2 papers, he gives questions that you should answer, which makes it easy to complete. There are exams and discussions. Exams are open-book and you have 2 attempts. Book is free. You can get an easy A+ in the class if you follow the rubric for the assignments.

Chapter quizzes, a few discussions, few exams and a film essay. Overall an easy to follow and keep up with class. Exams are open book and easy to succeed on if you do the reading and take good notes. The reading can be a lot but if you accurately pace yourself, you should be good. The film essay was fun to do and the best part of the class.

Mr. Lacivita was one of the best professors I've ever had; I had entered the online course late, and had a couple of zeroes and was on the brink of being withdrawn from the course. However, when I asked Mr. Lacivita to reopen the assignments so I could complete them and not be withdrawn, he did so and I ended with an in A. Great, would take again.

This is a tough class, with a large amount of reading. Highlight everything & pay attention to even the examples in the book. All aside, this has been one of the most interesting & educational classes I have ever taken. I loved how Professor Lacivita had this course set up; he does reply back quickly if you need help with anything. Take his class.

My classes were online, the content is very interesting. You must be attentive to the assignments because these have a deadline, and you can't wait until Sunday. The book is free, and it is online. You should prepare to read a lot. I loved the discussion board because the topics were very interesting. I learned a lot about psychological film essay.

Great psychology professor. The class had 4 discussion boards, a few quizzes and a few exams. Very manageable workload. He gives you the online text book which is nice. One research paper due (psychological film essay). I will take him again if I can.

Has a very simple outline that makes it easy to pass the course. There wasn't too much work, so it's an easy A as long as you do well on exams.

There were two mini exams that I had issues with and he was very understanding and easy to work with. I really appreciated how easy he was to communicate with and how much he cared for his students! I would definitely recommend.
