He makes sure everything is clear to everyone before he moves on. After he grades your papers he gives you another chance to fix things and turn it back in for a better grade.

The thing I liked about this teacher is he let's you rewrite your papers and get a better score. Overall, 015 was easy, but 102 is a bit hard.

I had Mr. Lamore for 015 and I know had it not been for all the help he gave me I would not have passed the class and moved on to the Honors English Class. He knows how to keep the class interested in the topic, its never a dull class.

As a student, I look forward to university years, and Mr. Lamore's way of teaching brings the best out of his students. He's one of the professors whom I feel I deserve the grade I get. In some instances, I had classes that I got A's, but at the end of the semester, I didn't learn a "new" thing, but with Mr. Lamore, I learned a LOT!

he works with us and the first couple of essays are rewrites he gives alot of good examples to help us understand the work and test are not difficult i learned alot i would recommend him!!

He is what professors should aspire to. His class is not easy and it requires some effort; however, you will want to work hard in his class. He inspires, and more importantly students are his top priority. Even after leaving his class you can email him your writing and he will look at it and help you. He really make an effor to make great writters

Great teacher, his lessons flow smoothly and segue from topic to topic like a well oiled machine. There's not much time for discussion however, but that's actually a relief because of the inane tangents most students take the class on.

I took two of his english classes. Before taking his classes I had a hard time with writing essay, after taking his classes I've received A's on all of my papers in other classes. He is very nice and helpful,a lot of other students who have taken his class recommend him to other students.

Great prep for English 101. Just pay attention, do your work and you should have no problem passing with at least a B. Class is kinda boring but if you can endure it'll pay off in the end. He gives you 2 midterms and great prep for the final. I recommend this class. I was bad in English and now I feel my writing skills have improved drastically.

Mr.Lamore knows his stuff. I hated english prior to taking his class. I learned so much by taking his class. He is very fair, and takes time out to help you.

Lamore is such an outstanding teacher! I agree with everyone who says great things about him. He will definitely make you a better writer. Of course, his class is no walk in the park. You must work for your grade, but he will definitely walk you through your struggles until you finally get it right.

Dr. Lamore is a great teacher he knows how to explain things clearly and help you improve. His grading methods lets you see where improvement is needed and sets date for 1 on 1 with students.Some of his papers are rewritable. Very nice teacher and is understanding. If you are trying to get quality this is your prefessor.

I real Lamore. He taught in a a way that was easy to understand and he gives his students 2 chances to write each paper so you can get a good grade.

ENG 232 was the most enjoyable class I have ever taken. Lamore puts great effort into EVERY one of his students (much more than I would have) to give them every possible chance to succeed. If you don't do well in his class it is absolutely your own fault. That's not to say its easy, there is plenty of work and you will learn a great deal.

Amazing Professor. I actually had him for 2 classes this semester and I can't say enough good things about him. I just feel bad on everyone who is going to miss out on him for Creative Writing for Fall 2012. He is so helpful and explains things so well. Definitely best Professor on campus :)

Took his honors course for 102. Super cool professor, he explains everything well and answers all of your questions. All of his essays were rewriteable, except the research paper at the end. His class can be boring, but he has a sense of humor to liven them up at times. Not an easy A, he grades a little tough on essays. Take if you like a challenge

Unmistakeably, the best teacher at SBVC. Funny, no surprises, thorough--and the list goes on. One can appreciate his structure. A classmate and I found that he would reiterate our notes to a T. We laughed in amazement! He will not mislead. If he doesn't know something (a seldom occurrence), he will get back to you. Personal, one of a kind feedback.

One of the best English teachers I have ever had! He is extremely helpful, and his work is very easy. He is a bit of a stickler about doing outlines and your essay's formatting, but he always goes over examples for you. He lets you redo your essays to get an A, and does practice midterms and finals.

Very easy to get an A in this class. Mostly all papers are rewrite able. If you ask for help and do all work this class will be a breeze. Plus, Mr. Lamore is a great teacher, funny, and extremely helpful.

Mr Lamore is so darn funny! I loved his witty persona because students do not expect it from him, since he is very mild mannered. His style of teaching worked well for me. I put in a lot of effort though, so if you are a slacker and you know it then take a sucky professor instead, because Lamore is suited best for A students. That's right!

Almost all papers can be re-write for a better grade in this class (except the issue report and research paper). Professor Lamore tells you exactly what to fix as well. He's really smart, funny, and there for you when you have questions. I got a B in the class because I got mostly Bs on my papers and chose not to re-write. An A is very possible.

Best English teacher ever!!!! I learned so much in his class. Just do the essays and summaries, he expects you to read,but always go over the material in class. He is totally funny and lets you rewrite your essay once to get a higher grade. Would take him again and again!!

He is super helpful. When he grades your essays, his writing is sloppy, but if you ask him what he wrote, he'll tell you and take out the errors on your paper. If everyone has a certain grammar error, he'll go over the grammar on the board and it is essential to take notes!! Emailing him your drafts will also benefit you.

Mr. Lamore is my favorite professor at SBVC. He is very clear of what is expected and is willing to explain something you may not understand I have also taken his class for English 102 during the summer. He is one of the FEW professors that actually care about your success.

Lamore is cool, fam. He gives amazing feedback on all your essays. I recommend you making drafts and showing them to him because that will also save you a lot of pain and thinking! don't procrastinate and cram everything on your essay! Take your time and ask him questions. HE IS VERY HELPFUL!!

professor Lamore was a great professor one of the best that I have had so far we wrote 7 papers in this class 5 of which were rewritable to improve our grade he also has a midterm and final exam in this class.

Professor Lamore is a very thorough and detailed teacher and thats what he is looking for in students writing assignments. there are 7 papers and you can rewrite 2 of them for a better grade. for summer it was a lot and I got a B.

4 Standard Essay (5% of your grade for each paper), 3 Response Essay (6-2/3% of your grade for each paper), 4 Minor assignments (2.5% of your grade for each paper); 2 Midterms (10 % each test) and 1 Final (30%). All essays except for the last 2 Response essays are rewriteable. Study to succeed in this class.

Took professor Lamore for 015 and 102. Hes clear about what he wants in his papers and grades fair. He is also willing to really help you if you struggle. Hes teaches how to be detailed in your writing in 015 which really helps for eng 101 papers. Probably the best professor on campus in my opinion.

His lectures are very interesting and easy to understand. He grades fairly and always gives good feedback. Gives chance to rewrite to get a better grade.

This class was tough but if you don't pass, it's because you didn't do what you had to do. He gives you every opportunity to succeed. He gives you tons of feedback and is available outside of class. If you want to go into 101 and succeed, this is the class you need to take beforehand. JUST PUT IN THE WORK! Professor Lamore is amazing.

I highly recommend professor Lamore! He is a fair grader and gives you tons of feedback. After a week of turning in a paper he will return your paper dissected with notes on how to make it an A. Professor Lamore has been one of my favorite professors at SBVC. He is very clear about what he wants from you in his class. He is a fair grader. You will learn how to write in his class. If you are lazy you won't do good If you in it for a good grade, do the easy's, get feedback from the professor and an A is totally attainable.

The first half is text book heavy and will need to memorize and identify fallacies. The second half is essay heavy. All the papers he assigns are rewrite able, doing these are the key to an A in the class. I can honestly say that has made me a much better writer then I was before taking his class. Although not an easy A, you'll get a lot out of it.

Professor Lamore is a genius and teaches with a passion. He makes jokes and keeps the class entertained. It is tough, not for the lazy, but well worth it as you'll learn so much. Professor Lamore was an amazing teacher for this course. All of the real grading came in at the end, but during the semester just do what he asks from you and you get full credit. He gave SO MUCH feedback it was easy to see where I went wrong with these things. Overall AMAZING!

Joel Lamore is a great professor. He wants all his students to succeed. If you show him you care about your work and want to make it better, he will give you better results and a good grade in return. He helped me better my writing and critical thinking skills. Make sure to study for the midterm, based on the book "With Good Reason".

Professor Lamore is a great English teacher, I would recommend him to everyone. This guy knows what he is talking about and he is very devoted about his lectures. Although there were a lot of papers that had to be completed, he made sure that all the students knew what they had to do and let them rewrite the papers to get a better grade.

I highly recommend a tutor while writing critical essays. Total of 5 papers, 1 analysis, and 1 bibliography. Weekly discussions, read one book, Lamore gives great feedback on essays. It is important to turn assignments on time. Overall, a great instructor you will be pushed to succeed in critical thinking and elevate your writing skills.

Took him for english 102. Read Brave new world which was such a good book. This was a good class with interesting homework, not just busy work. I truly enjoyed it.

Professor was very helpful. We mostly had discussions and maybe like 4 papers. Most papers were research papers. Apparently hes a tough grader but he was reasonable. He gives feedback and honestly wants the best for his students. Work load was not much. He gives plenty of time for papers. I work a lot and still got an A in his class. I recommend.

The first section consists of reading a book and weekly discussions which were easy. The second half consists of working on the final research paper. People say hes a tough grader but he was definitely reasonable and provides you with plenty of advice to improve your paper/writing. Im not the best writer and I ended with an A. Engage in class!

Professor Lamore is a wonderful instructor. This was a critical thinking class where essays were a way of life. Prof. Lamore is a tough but fair grader. He always takes the time to make notes on how to improve & offers opportunities to try again. Although this class was online, Professor Lamore was readily available & interactive with the class.

I won't lie. Professor Lamore demands a lot. But he will take you to a whole new level of reading and writing. He gives you the feedback you need in a way that's almost uncanny. He can find the exact sentence that your argument or organization starts to drift. I learned more in his class than I did in six years of writer's groups. Five stars!

He is a great professor and his grading system is very flexible. He is a tough grader but he wants to take your writing to the next level and he allows you to rewrite certain papers for a better grade.

Professor Lamore was the advisor to the club I was a part of. He was committed to inspiring a passion for writing and change in the classroom and outside of it. This college took his club for granted. Joel taught me a lot and I owe him a great deal. He is unarguably the best English professor Valley didn't deserve. I hope he rests in peace.

I was enrolled in Spring 2024, however, I didn't get to take him. Another professor took over the class but all of Prof Lamore class assignments/writings stayed in tact. I was deeply inspired and motivated by all of his writings, I felt confident after reading them! I'm sad I never got to take him. I really wanted his insight on The Golden Key :)
