GREAT TEACHER HE MAKES THE SUBJECT VERY INTERESTING AND MAKES THE CLASS LAUGH A LOT. TAKE GOOD NOTES FROM POWER POINTS AND OTHER THINGS TALKED ABOUT IN CLASS AND YOU WILL DO FINE.

My favorite teacher so far! Attend class, study power pnt notes, and you'll do fine. Do NOT attempt to cheat or be rude in his class. Comfortable to talk to, able to joke around. Very helpful, funny, and clear. Wish my major involved more of his classes. I HIGHLY reccomend this teacher if you ever get the chance!!!

My advice for sure would be to write down the examples he gives that aren't in the powerpoints and study your notes and trust me you'll pass the class with flying colors!

Plus, he gives you study guides before each test & if you complete them, you can turn them in for 5 EC points. Oh, and you will have a huge crush on him by the end of the 1st lecture.

i loved this class!!! note taking was a little long at times but deffinitely came in use for the study guides.do the study guides! everything that is on them is on the test and they are five points extra credit! hes suuuper funny and not to mention super hot!

He gives lecture based tests but do not be alarmed, his lectures make you want to come to class because he is hilarious and very animated, makes funny gestures. Moreover, his class almost made me change my major! Oh, and he doesn't really use the book too much. I totally recommend him!

Definitely one of the best teachers I have ever had. I don?t see how anyone can fail this class because he makes everything crystal clear. What you see in the notes is exactly what you see on the exams. Plus, there are multiple opportunities for extra credit if needed. And as everyone else has said, he is HILARIOUS!

I took Murphy for PSYC-1A and adored him. The class sounded interesting but him teaching it was pretty much the sole reason I took it. As expected, Murphy was his usual hilarious and adorable self. He's really open and genuinely cares about the well-being of the students, unlike most teachers, and his lectures are interesting and insightful.

Very good professor! Hilarious, fun, energetic, happy to be in class, loves what he does, gives relative stories to make learning easy. Take very good notes, do the ex credit (helps with studying for tests) and participate! I got a D for participation and still got an A in class. His class is easy if you show up daily and do the ex credit.

Joel is a great teacher.He loves psychology and he loves teaching it. He WANTS his students to succeed.He makes himself available to talk-whether it has to do with his class,another class, or personal probs. I took him for 1B also-and loved him then too!

Professor Murphy was a great professor for Psychology, he knows what he is talking about and he makes sure you can learn the material, he uses power points and uses stories to help relate the information.His tests are straight forward, he uses study guides & they really help prepare for the test. If you study and pay attention you will do well.

This was a really fun class, the material was fun to learn because Murphy used a lot of examples from his experience, the tests were from material we cover in class and he provided study guides, which helped tremendously! He also does group projects which are not hard, but I feel we would learn more about the topics if he had taught them himself.

He is really funny, sarcastic, and a great teacher. All tests are directly from notes (really easy if you study). He tells you to buy the book, but you really don't need it! He never assigns homework from it. I've had him for 3 different classes and each one has been the same. He's one of my favorite teachers, I definitely recommend!

Professor Murphy is fantastic! His lectures always have either jokes, random Psychology facts, or interludes about his love for Red Robin. The tests are easy if you study and pay attention, and he's always there to help.

The best teacher I have ever had in my entire life. Funny, informative, relates to his class by using personal experiences so we can relate. Tough when he feels its necessary and he we help you if you are in need of help. Great person all around.

To say the least, I LOVED this guy!! Being in his class made me become very interested in psychology. Every day, I looked forward going to his class because he is freaking hilarious! Murphy makes class fun, communicates well with students, and gives very clear information. However, he is not a push over, and doesn't care about your sob story. He will drop you for missing classes. As long as you pay attention, take online quizzes, and study for tests, you pass. Highly recommend him!

Class attendance mandatory. Does not give extra credit. Journals are a big portion of grade. Quiz are based on lectures so take good notes. Book necessary sometimes to answer quiz questions. A lot of in class activities that count towards final grade.

Taking this class was fun! There wasn't any dull moments in this class. Murphy will for sure make you laugh. I really enjoyed taking his class and so will you. His lectures are very interesting and he doesn't rush, which allows everyone to write down every note. His exams are also very straight-forward. Just study the study guide and lecture notes.

Loved this teacher I took him on wednesdays from 11-2 and I didn't mind it he's hilarious and loves what he does ! I would definitely take his class again!

He is a pro at this topic, he never makes a class boring he is always on his feet and talking about all the subjects. overall I would take this class again. you only meet once a week for 3 hours. Dont skip class because most of the information for the exams comes from the quiz you take and the notes he gives you.

I really enjoyed this class! The quizzes are pretty simple if you're listening in class and understanding the book. No exams, so quizzes are very important to keep on top of. Do your journals every week (even though he grades them at random). One paper at the end of the semester but it a personal one so very easy to write. He is also very funny!!

Lectures are entertaining most of the time. The grading is very clear. Go to lecture and do the study guides (for extra credit) and you're guaranteed at least a C. Lectures covered 95% of test material, the other 5% is in assigned reading.

Mr. Murphy is a great professor. If you want to learn about psychology, I strongly recommended him. He doesn't give homework, lecture is enjoyable, and he provides a study guide for every exam. If you turn in the study guide it is worth five points, it may not seem a lot, but it does help.

A very funny professor and his lectures were very interesting. Almost wanted to change my major. All he would grade on were test and few in class assignments. So you really have to study in order to do good.

Mr. Murphy is the funniest teacher I have ever had. He makes the class very entertaining by telling stories of his life. I would 100% recommend him to any one. He give out study guides for the test and if you take the notes in class it should be easy to pass the test. His class was so fun to the point I never wanted to miss or leave the class.

Picky when it comes to the APA formatting if you dont understand it make sure you go to office hours. There is a group project for finals. There are 4 exams that require plenty of study time. Other than that, the course is well planned out and he gives out activities/homework in class to help students understand the material.

Everything is fairly graded, quizzes every Friday but nothing too extreme. Tests are mainly based on the quizzes. Overall a very good Professor. Highly recommend!

He was a decent professor. He always tells stories during lecture which can help with learning terms. He gave us study guides and a few small and easy assignments and of course, tests. I had a solid A all semester and then I got a B by the final which was very confusing for me based off of how I studied but other then that, he is good.

great teacher! took this class online, was super easy. work is not hard at all. it's up to you to get the job done. the class was so informative. definitely recommend.

He was such an easy professor he allows you to turn in assignments late by 24 hours. He assigns us weekly quizzes about the slides he would post that same week. I did have to buy a book but I only used it for the final essay we had assigned which was about 3 things we chose to write that we learned about. He gives no mid-term exams just one final.

Prof. Murphy is amazing. He is my favorite professor and I will always recommend him. The class is very easy, but you need to go to class in order to get a good grade because the tests are based on his lecture. We didn't need the textbook everything you need to know is on his slides. He is funny and entertaining which made his class very enjoyable.

He's not a boring professor. He just won't grade your stuff on time, maybe after a month later or even longer which can cause you to wonder what your grade is. When he assigns homework/notes and you miss out on it he will expect you to get that information from another student.

I would definitely recommend professor Murphy. I took his in person class and he makes going to class enjoyable. No homework is assigned. Although attendance is not mandatory, tests are based off his lectures and he does not post his lectures online.

I had professor for psych 40 intro to drugs and alcohol and I would definitely take his class again. He was engaging and took time to know his students and interacted with them. Very informative. The only thing is if you miss a class be prepared to get notes from a class mate that's where all his tests are from.

This was a fun class to take. You will take weekly in-person quizzes, but they are easy if you take notes and study them the day before. Make sure to write down every journal assignment topic, including the date, because one day you will have to turn them all in at once.

dude is very chill. as long as you watch the lectures and do the hw, you'll pass easily. tho, some questions were a bit too personal for me to answer. but yah real easy class!
