I have to disagree with all. I think this guy is a pompous ass. He is very demeaning towards undergrads, and grad students are his favorite. I did not think his lectures were that helpful. he's also very strict on attendance. If your not there for role, your absent.HE IS REDICULOUS

Joel is a brilliant professor who absolutely loves what he does and wants his students to succeed beyond the classroom. The communication skills taught in this class are life changing. When I started taking this course, I was a hack at writing emails. Now, I am a pro at typing business emails. Joel is a class act. He has his routine ready. Lots of video lectures supplemented with in-class exercises. Joel gives you the opportunity to revise your work to always strive toward an "A." He is a very Memorable Teacher; I would recommend the class. However, you need to pay close attention to him. The lectures, and rubrics must be followed to a T as he is big on format. This is one of my top three favorite classes taken during my MBA. I approached this class with low expectations, BUT I was wrong. Dr. Whalen taught me so much during this class, and I have applied some of the tactics learned in class. Amazing results came out as a result of trying a few things learned in MKT 576.

Taking this class had immediate effects on my professional career. One week after finishing the course, I was at a conference and had to do a few presentations. Prof. Whalen has a unique style of teaching which I personally loved. Although it might look like an easy class and sometimes unneccessary, I believe that its very important in our professional lifes. It was a fun class and the assignemnts were pretty straight forward.

very nice prof, class met only once a week. although nice, his class ran in very confusing manner as he didn't properly establish what our assignments were and would leave us to do the work on our own after a quick 20-30 minutes of lecture. a lot of the things he says to buy are rlly not needed. as long as you show up and do the work you'll pass
