if your not good in math, this is the guy for you. write notes on the board, tests are EXACTLY what the notes are!!!! Other than his corny jokes, he is a great teacher!!!!

He is a very good teacher, ya, the other dude is right, korny jokes but trys to keep u awake. theres no homework required, if math lab done,just need to complete 39% of it and u get 10 extra points in EVERY TEST There are 5 exams, but VERY easy, same thing in the books, drops the lowest grade, CENTRAL CAMPOS, i got like 110 n this class, he's good!

He is a great teacher, anyone who says he sucks, sucks themselves and is EXTREMELY bad at math. you get the grade you desirve, he teaches wonderful, makes people stay awake by telling unrelative jokes to math, pretty interesting. HIGH RECOMMENDATION!! (sorry about this, but some people that are just air heads dont understand how easy he takes it)

if you are taking algebra or Statisitcs this is the professor to take. He is great easy to understand and helpful. He is a little cheese can over look it and make an A in his class. I recommend him.

He's GREAT! If you make an F in his class, then you didn't come to class, and didn't try at all. I'm not great at math, but he explains everything. He's patient and funny, and I got it. I made an A in MATH! :) Go ahead and take him, make an effort, you'll do just fine.

TEACHER IS VERY EASY. FOR THIS CLASS, ITS EASY TO GET EXEMPT FROM THE FINAL. HE ISN'T HELPFUL IN EXPLAINING THINGS. MOSTLY BECAUSE I THINK HE WANT TO LEAVE RIGHT AFTER CLASS BUT WHO DOESN'T.

If you need algebra get this guy - IMO he's HCC's best math teacher. He explains the material clearly, prepares his class very well for tests & his joking around sets everyone at ease - he's a very funny character. No favoritism either and he helps EVERYBODY.

Took him as a summer session. I suck at math. If you do your homework he will give u extra points on test.Hewants u 2 pass the class. Hes chessy but who cares? It benefits u 2 come 2 class because he actually teaches. Takin him in fall for math 1314. Good luck 2 ya

I afraid of taking a mini without knowing who was going to be teaching. I am so glad i got Williams. He keeps it light. He knows his stuff. He taught ways of doing problems that were much easier than the book's way. Multiple Choice tests, Good reviews, and homework counted for grade average. Thank you Professor Williams.

Best Math Professor for Central Campus. SEE REVIEWS for Mary Ferguson and Robert Johnson. The people who don't like William's teaching never even opened the book to see how simple he breaks it down for you. Start studying for Final early. It is from school not him so you are going to want to make sure you know it all. Peace in Christ.

Best teacher I've ever had. Take him for 0306, or 0308. You will get the foundation you need to take upper level math. If you failed his class, your a lazy @$$.

Mr. Williams knows how to rock! He is awesome, very funny makes you laugh a lot with his estrange jokes... He gives you a half take home exam, its hard but you have to study and attend class every time otherwise you will get lost. The exams are very easy. I took college algebra with him and I got A in both class. I highly recommend him.

This professor was awsome i did not even need to do the assignments for exta credits.He is so funny and keeps a smile on yo face. Had a hard time getting a text book but managed to get an A. i highly recomend him. He makes everything easy to understand. He understands that math is hard so he gives different methods for u to choose the best for u.

I am really bad at Math however Professor Williams made it easy. He assigns 3 homeworks that are due the day of the test, however they are about 75-100 problems long. I had trouble and went to his office hours often where he would show me how to do every problem I had trouble with. He will occassionally give extra credit. Go to class and take notes

First time in my life I visited a math classes without fear and stress. His lessons are fun and interesting. Hi explains the problems with accessible language; hi answers questions thoroughly. I’d to study a lot, but common people, you’re in college you have to study. Bad grades - ONLY because you are lazy. I’ll strongly recommend him.

He is VERY energetic and gets off topic a lot. I found him hilarious. Math is not my best subject and I didn't find him to be too helpful, but somehow I managed to make an A. Fairly easy class. He will definitely keep you awake though with his humor. I would take again :)

Super easy class, Study guide is exactly like the test. He is a good teacher he just spend 3/4 of the class making lame jokes. but the sections he does teach are applicable to his Test/Homework. He also omits things he didn't teach just tell him and he removes it from the test. all his test have a take home part super easy. Overall easy A.

Great personality and humor. If you need to take this class as your last math class take him. Very easy to get an A in this class; if you need more math classes and you need the foundation needed to get good grades on your other math classes , you need to reconsider him as a teacher.

Took him for a winter minimester; one of the best math classes I've taken. Teaches material that'll be on the test (4 and one final in total). You do have to do mymathlab, but there's only around 15 quizzes and 6 tests you have to do online (most of them are really easy). He does tend to get off topic and can joke a lot, but that adds to the class.

Really good teacher; he can explain problems really well, and wants you to ask questions. Stays on schedule with the syllabus, so you're not rushing at the end of the semester. Makes a lot of corny jokes; annoying at first but you get used to it.

Such an amazing teacher !

I took his class Spring 2017 and I am not good at math. I'm more of a history and english guy but I did pass his College Algebra class and I will say: he is very forgiving, makes class fun, and has a genuine interest in his students.

he doesn't teach well but he's very flexible and his tests very similar to the practice tests. I'm not a math person and got an A. Just do homework and study the practice tests from youtube.

I'm in his 1324 class in this Spring 2018. We had 4 homework online (kinda complex than what he taught in class but ok), 4 tests just as the practice tests with different numbers, and 1 final. Generally, it's an easy A class if you can teach yourself, because Joel doesn't teach much in class. BELIEVE ME OR NOT, he is the finest math Pro. at Central

This professor is so funny and interesting, I just laugh when I think about his class. His jokes are a bit offbeat but in a positive way; he is random, imo He definitely knows his math, of course, and he has a positive and independent approach to the subject. It helps if the teacher is not overwhelming and hes not, he takes a light approach.

Prof Williams is a great educator. He lectures clearly and answers questions when you dont understand something. He truly cares about student success. Online homework is a huge component of this course, prepare to set aside a significant amount of time. He gives you examples, but working many problems is the best way to learn mathematics.

he is very funny, he is always trying to make his class more interesting. he will give you the review guider before the test. make sure you take note on your class. it really helps you on the test. easy A.

Be prepared to hear his jokes. He sometimes gets off topic but tries to make the lecture fun. TAKE NOTES OF THE PROBLEMS, DO NOT PROCRASTINATE ON THE HOMEWORK, and MAKE SURE YOU STUDY on TESTS. If you want an A, do all 3 things. If you want a B, make sure you at least get an 80 or above on the homework. STUDYING IS A MUST ON ALL TESTS!

Professor Williams is my favorite professor I've had in college so far. He is the only professor I've had that was able to keep me engaged during lecture. He is hilarious and willing to help. Each class doubles as a comedy show.

Best professor. we had 4 exams, 4 homework, 1 midterm and 1 final. everything was like on his syllabus. He is well organized, gave us bonus. Takes care of every student and he is there to listen to you. Makes lecture easy to understand and funny. I really enjoyed being in his class.

Professor Williams loves to talk. Not always about Statistics, but it is always interesting. His lectures while he does teach, will not cover close to half of what you need to know for the tests. Majority of it will come from the text, homework and practice tests. Be sure to do those practice tests. He also uses Lock Down Browser for real tests.

My best advice do his practice tests it's a lot of it is the same questions with or without changed numbers. He's very understanding, extends the homework, gives extra credit/take home part of the test for some test. I got practically a 100 in the class and I was never good in math. I got a D in college algebra. Take it in person though!

Book was not required but you'll need access code. He will show videos then work out problems. The hw will help you get the hang of it in case the videos didn't and he does offer help for those who need it. He also gives extra credit. All his test are multiple choice and he won't throw in there something you haven't learned. This was an easy class!

I'm not sure why his rating is so low. I think this was an easy class and Professor Williams is great! I'm not great at math, like at all, but I would say this is one of the easier math courses I have taken. My advice would be to make sure to do your homework, pace yourself and do the practice tests since they are very similar to his real tests.

Professor Joel Williams is a fantastic professor. You can tell he wants his students to succeed. He gives clear expectations at the beginning and throughout his course. He also makes learning fun (which is a rare quality for math professors in my opinion.) I would take Professor Williams again in a heartbeat. This has been a wonderful experience!!!

10/10 in my experience. Professor Williams is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is not only a great teacher but I appreciate his positivity and good energy. He is wants his students to succeed. Participation matters but that should be the case in every course. Keep up with your homework and go to class.

A lot of the other students in my class always complained about his way of teaching but I didn't find them too bad. He showed videos and gave us plenty of examples on the board. The entire semester he offered extra 10 points on exams.He does get off topic A LOT but if you stop him and ask him a question about the work, he does jump back on topic.

Wonderful down to earth Professor. I enjoyed his lectures he has a lot of wisdom and knowledge. I would recommend him!! He sets clear grading criteria and gives enough time with his homework. I liked how he gives bonus points as well! Just attend class and you will do great

He does go off topic and its hard to pick up on when he is actually dropping something important, but all of the info is easily available in the textbook, which is fairly easy to read through plus he is pretty lenient as well.
