nice guy.. but hard class. lets u use 1 "cheat sheet" but no use cuz his tests are really hard!
Mono-toned. Boring. Tedious with projects. Don't even bother asking for help because it makes you more confuse. And those tests are hard. Even if it's 2 sheets front and back.
Stay Away!!
Boring class, not helpful, won't do problems on baord or show you how to use equations. Wants you to "struggle throught it". No straight answers to questions, group prject easy. If possible avoid!
He is very nice and is willing to help outside of class, but his lectures are quite boring. It can be frustrating b/c he does not wrtie out a lot of the problems on the board so it is sometime hard to understand.
I think Dr. Wisner is helpful, yes this is a hard class, but he is lenient on the project. He has a lot of math problems on his exams, and time is a big issue, so if math is not your strong suit then DO NOT take this course in the summer. Otherwise I thought it was easier then it could have been.
Due to his health related issues - he is not able to solve any problem on the board nor attempt to do it. He has a job but not proffesiion He needs to retire. - his earning monet through us but not desrving it. I don't blame him but rather blame the system at UNLV let him to be there. I am going to write aletter directly to UNLV president that he s
This is the worst class and worst professor ever. Yeah, he lets you use notes on the test, but they don't help because the answers on his tests are different that what's in the book or on his slides. Don't ever take this professor. He does not care about his students, and can't answer questions about the material.
The class material is pretty dry and he really doesn't help it. He gives you a cheat sheet for the test but he doesn't really help you prepare for the test. He focuses so much on the problems, but the problems only end up being about 25% of the test. That doesn't seem right to me. He is helpful on the project but it's only 15% of your grade.
This professor helps if you need it, he is always willing to me you in his office to go over the tests and homework problems. The lecture may be boring at times, but he trys to add jokes here and there. He allows a cheat sheet, and there is 1 group project. The project is easy if you see him throughout the semester to see how well you are doing
He knows what he is talking about. He wrote the book. If you ever need help he is always in his office to help you. Tests are a bit tricky, but if you study and do his little cheat sheet he allows, you should be fine. If you try you should get at least a B
Pretty easy class, gives you 2 cheat sheets for the test, what more do you people want? He rarely does problems on the board, but the book explains how to do the problems if you take the time to actually read it. I got an A- and showed up to class three times, too easy.
2 exams and a group case study. Use the powerpoint slides as a study guide. Not that hard of a class.
he writes text books!does anything else really need to be said!
easy class, could've got an A, but end up with 87 %, 2 exams and group paper, final was hard and that grade pulled me down to B, just do the reading and you will do just fine
Very nice and approachable guy. 3 exams + 1 group paper. Just study well and you'll be fine.
Test not clear and yes you have one page of notes but the test covers 300 pages and lectures. Sometimes the lessons are not clear. And if you need help with the math your in trouble. He can not show you how to work a problem because he can not write. I'm sorry that he can not write, but that does not help the student that may need a math problem ex
Summer class-2 exams/1 group project. You have to teach yourself the equations-do hmwk!! Group study is helpful-4 the equations. He will not really show/teach u the equations. Group project-not hard. Make sure u site lots of sources and add graphs! Got A on project. Ppl ran out of time during test-make sure u r prepared & aware of your time. BORING
Professor is horrible. He reads off ppt slides and goes off topic. The whole class did not understand a problem & he refused to illustrate it on the board saying that he shouldnt have to do anything. Doesnt help you if you need it. Very boring class, whole class were all on laptops surfing web. 2 tests, 1 project. Would not recommend. RETIRE WISNER
Teacher is very upfront about the class. Lets you bring in a one page test guide for all exams. He is very nice and makes himself available to all his students.
The people before me obviously didn't go to the class. If you came to class, did a little reading and the hw, this class was fun and easy. The final was ridiculously hard, but he took responsibility and added a huge curve. The group project was pretty easy and fun; no presentation. He is always willing to help, highly recommend him. Great guy!
Difficult subject but if you attend class and do the homework you will be fine. Professor Wisner makes time to be available for help in his office. Also allows a cheat sheet for exams. Definitely recommend!
This is a core course for all prospective MBA students. That being said... I'm sorry you have to sit through this boring class. The only enduring quality is it gives you time to do coursework for other classes or catch up on your internet surfing.
Lectures rarely have anything to do with slides in class, & rarely have anything to do exams. Prof. asks questions meant to trick you on exam. Best way to get a good grade in this class is to read the book, go to his office & ask him questions to clarify & go to all classes like me! You do get a cheat sheet, but the questions are still very tricky.
The material in this class is really easy to comprehend but somehow that does not translate on the test. Make sure to read the chapters and do the homework, there will be a group project, and expect the test to be hard
wisner tries to answer questions, but normally doesn't. the book doesn't teach the math and neither does he. tests are not easy, not hard, but you can use a cheat sheet.
Awesome guy! Great attitude! Really cares about his students and tries to help as much as possible. Most kids just want stuff handed to 'em, he's not going to do that, so people don't tend to like him. I thought he was great!
Avoid this teacher at all costs!!! I learned absolutely nothing in this class. He assigns equations for HW but then refuses to write them out to show the class when we have a question. Sorry to say, I know he had a storke, but if he can't write out HW problems maybe it is time to retire.
I absolutely learned nothing in this class. After the midterm the professor was completely unhelpful. Yes, you can get a good grade in this class because he curves and he uses a cheat sheet but be prepared to learn nothing and receive no help. You cant teach math equations in theory, and expect people to understand. Don't take him!
This guy is completely unprofessional and worthless. If you want to hear stay close to the front and pick a good group. He refuses to help, or workout HW problems in class which encompass the majority of your exams. Crib sheets and a 10pt curve helps exams but he gave out 3 A's, you most likely will pass but it will be with a "C" or "C-"
Ok. here is how to succeed in his class. 1. Copy all lecture notes onto the cheat sheet. Majority of multiple choice answers are on the lectures notes 2. study the math problems. the homework problems he gives is usually a good way to study them. I didn't read the book very much. The paper was easy. we did 5 pages with a group of 4.
Structure of class has changed due to increase of size. Do the homework, read the book, show up and participate in class. The class is not too difficult as long as you do the above and he does try to give every student a opportunity succeed. There was extra credit, cheat sheet, and clickers. There was no group paper in my class. Recommended!
Dr. Wisner explained the material and what we wanted very clearly. He is a great professor.
He's a kind hearted but the exams can be very tricky and you really do have to read the book. He provides a cheat sheet and a lot of extra credit. He also curves heavily but the exams can still be tricky. Make sure to attend all his classes because it counts and do all the extra credit!
Just do all the extra credit, connect homework, and attend class and its an easy A
This is a great class to take. It is an easy A and the class is fun. The professor really wants everyone to learn and not stress about their grade. I would definitely recommend this class.
Professor is very nice and easy to learn from, exams are not easy but doable. He allows extra credit opportunities which is great! Wish he taught other classes I need too! Project supposed to be about a company one of group members worked for but some students chose cos they didn't work for so thought it made project bit unfair overall great prof!
Very nice, extra credit assignment really helpful and he is funny and understanding of students' needs. Highly recommend this professor
It is a class where you can learn something which is more important than just receiving an "A". He is very kind and ready to help the students. One of the best teachers in the school of business at UNLV.
very nice and helpful teacher. he is straight to the point and teaches what you need to know instead of the nonsense others teach.
Very knowledgeable teacher and does a good job explaining the topic. Tries to keep the class involved in the discussions. Two exams that allow a note sheet and an easy group project and presentation. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. Topic can be a little boring and is similar to SCM352. Good teacher and fairly easy class though.
Good professor. 2 Exams and 1 group project that is fairly easy. For the exams you are allowed a 2 sided cheat sheet. What is on the exam is what is taught in class. He is always available to help. Nice guy. Material is a bit boring.
He's very knowledgeable and friendly. However, if you have the chance to take the class over two sessions a week vs a long three-hour session, take the former. The material is very dry. I would also have preferred the grade to be distributed over more than two tests.
He is AWESOME!!! Take any class you can with him!
Great teacher who is going to challenge you. I was just bellow the average grade, and I gave 100% effort (i have 6 classes though). Its gotta be pretty hard to fail this class, unless you straight up dont do the work. (Theres barely any...)
Very structured class. Everything is broken down for you in the syllabus and all the material is split into manageable chapters. Additionally, you get a cheat sheet that you can bring with you to your tests! Pretty difficult to do poorly in this class with this helpful teacher unless you just don't care about school at all.
Great professor. Offers extra credit which helped me A LOT!!! Class isn't a piece of cake but as long as you do the work you can pass.
This class is too easy. The lectures put you to sleep. He's very long winded and slow, but he offers extra credit and homework that will help your grade. Just do the HW and study those questions and learn vocab to prep for the test. He curves the grades too.
He is nice and does his best to make a boring subject interesting, and he's funny. 2 non-cumulative exams 85%, online discussions & hmwk 15%. Attendance not required, but you need to read the book to pass. He's not difficult, but the material can be. Involves lots of math and stats. He gives extra credit and curves. Keep up and study to do well.
Took this class Summer 3. Read the book and come to class and you'll do fine. Wisner does talk slowly so hard to concentrate but he throws jokes in every now and then. Connect HW is frustrating at times and he doesn't walk through problems on board so have to be quick on the calculator and understand. Decent professor for a boring class.
Waste of time class! Homework, discussion board posts and clickers in class. Very slow and boring professor that fails to engage students.
Attendance is mandatory, taken with clicker. Lots of HW on CONNECT which can be repeated 3 times each. Lots of discussion questions, although very easy. Tests can be studied for using just the powerpoints he provides, but I recommend reading as well.
Great Professor. Grades post quickly. Read the book. Took 3 week Summer I session, so a little grueling but he allowed front and back cheat sheet. 2 tests 85%, and connect hw and discussions 15%. Read the book, take notes and it's nearly impossible to not do well.
Read the book, DO the homework, go to class, pay attention, and the material is pretty easy to get. I never read textbooks, but this one wasn't bad. Took 3 week Summer course- expect to spend at least an hour or two a day studying outside of class. Not bad.
Funny teacher who knows his stuff. My complaint comes from the fact that he does not "teach" you how to do the mathematics in the course. He simply shows you the equation and tells you how to use it. There is no learning how the equation was made, or how to do it, or even elaborate on the equations. But he did a very good job teaching concepts
He is well-versed in SCM and is certainly a nice guy. But he may be the sandman, it is impossible to stay awake in his course. SCM is already a dull subject and his teaching style does nothing to help that. Gives a 8-11 cheat sheet for tests and extra credit though.
He gives lots of chances for his students to get a good grade. He's funny, nice, and keeps the class interesting!
Dr. Wisner is a sweet, nice man who cares a lot about his students. He gives multiple chances to succeed in his course, including extra credit opportunity. Yes, the class is very boring but Dr. Wisner does his best to keep things entertaining.
Make sure you get your clicks in, post to the discussion board, and don't miss more than 1 connect homework assignment. You get to use an entire 8 1/2 X 11 page of any handwritten notes you want on every exam! He's not a tough professor.
Attendance is only mandatory if you want the clicker points. Dr. Wisner knows his stuff. He gives you the problems involving math during the review session. Interesting class, I took a lot from it. The subject itself is a little dry but if you read the book, do the hw, and read the powerpoints you'll be fine.
Great professor. I like that he gives you the choice to be graded on attendance or not. If you are not very good at test taking, the clicker is definitely worth it. Interesting extra credit opportunities. Expectations and material that will be covered on the tests are very clear. The cheat sheet is a great tool. Also, the third test is the hardest.
Make sure you show up for clicker questions than can really help your overall grade. Gives you a full letter size paper front and back of anything you want (handwritten) to use on ALL exams including final.
Professor Wisner is very knowledgeable and funny! you gotta go to class in order to do well in his exams.
You get a full page cheat sheet for every test, tons of extra credit opportunities and a lot of assignments. Do the discussion questions and homework and you will pass.
Once I got used to the slower pace in which Wisner talks, I really loved this class. He has a good sense of humor and cares a lot for the students. Tests are not just based on slides, you have to read the book. He also includes 2 questions each test that you would only know if you went to class. Clicker points are awesome and he gives 5% of e.c.
Took it in the summer, a lot of information for a five week period. You get a full page cheat sheet for the exams. He's really nice and helpful. Go to class & read the book.
Wisner is a great guy, very nice, and genuine person. There is a connect HW every chapter, all due around test day. I didn't buy the book, just the connect. Full page HANDWRITTEN cheatsheet (TAKES 4 HOURS TO MAKE A GREAT ONE). Clicker questions if you attend class, if you don't, he weighs exams heavier on you. Easy A IMO, FINAL EXAM WAS PRETTY HARD.
He's aight.
He provides a plethora of examples and practice problems to ensure students learn the material. He's very knowledgeable and willing to help students. Recommend!
Took his online class, we only met before the test and on test date. He allows one cheat sheet. Hand writren but make sure you read the book and study because you will run out of time, dont just copy the definition you need to know the book. Make sure you do ALL discussions
Great professor, dont have to attend but u get EC if you do with iclicker (phone app) if not grades hevay on test, also need 2 read ur book and take chapter quizes before exam, also discussions every week, nice material to be honest just alot of work but if you read the material and do the work easy B+ if not A. also gives you a whole page 4 cheat
Wisner is a really nice professor who you can tell wants his students to do well in the course. The exams are super easy if you take the time out to read the book and make a note card w/ all the definitions. Sometimes the class feels like a lot of work but the tests are way more than reasonable. He also rewards students for getting 100s on exams!
Wisner is a very sweet guy. He cares about his students but makes the exams tough so READ THE BOOK!!! Dont just read definitions read a little bit more than that. Make sure to do the extra credit. Would take again if I wasnt graduating. BTW a 90 is a solid A for him not A-
Wisner is an awesome professor. Show up to class, do the clicker questions and read the book. He allows 1 cheat sheet front and back for each exam, so make a good one. Wisner is very knowledgeable about supply chain management and is one of the best professors I have ever had. Take him.
Kindest professor in UNLV! He wants us ALL to do well! Even gives free lunches as motivation for those who get 100s on the tests, which I've never seen before. Gives so many opportunities to succeed. Just study the book, the math problems, do the HOMEWORK, do the iclicker questions, write a great "cheat sheet", ask him questions if you're stuck...
Not an easy A but not a hard B. Make sure you understand the review problems he gives before the exam and write them down on the cheat sheet he lets you use on the exam. Dont bother buying the book, just go on the wesbite thats based on his book, and make sure you memorize the vocab from there. Hes a really nice guy, go to his office for any qs
Wisner is the man. Take him. Class is fairly straightforward and I really enjoyed it. Cheat sheet is huge for the tests, make a good one! Helps a lot and the tests are manageable. Don't think this class would've been half as easy if he wasn't teaching or if we didn't get the cheat sheet. He's not trying to trip you up or fail you.
Honestly a great and nice guy. His tests are super easy if you have a great cheat sheet (so read the book & pay attention to iclicker questions!). He really does want the class to do well and an A is very achievable and the class is reasonable overall.
Get near perfect scores on your quiz (hw) and iclickers. Those would so push your grade up at the end of the semester. 1 extra credit of 5 points, and quizzes two tries. (same questions). So don't miss class. 1st test was pretty hard, second easier, final was tough. However, you can improve a lot with his online flash cards, and practice quizzes.
This course is hard, but if you stay on top of it and really commit, you'll be fine. He is always in his office for questions or problems and emails back right away. Supply chain is a hard subject but he tries to make it less dry. He cares about your success. Try to take in person instead of hybrid class. In person allows for participation points.
Professor Wisner is inspirational and cares for his students. He tells interesting stories and shows examples through videos and Powerpoints.
Wisner is a really good Professor, optional extra credit for attendance + extra credit. You need to read the chapters to do well on exams, allows cheat sheet 8.5x11 with anything you want for exams. Show up for exam reviews, read, do the homework & youll get an A. He cares about his students.
My class was a hybrid, so the only times he had class was for test or reviews. Grade consists of 3 tests and homework. This class isnt a breeze, your going to have to do a lot of studying. Professor wants everyone to do well and provides all the tools to pass, but makes you work for it. He also gives extra credit opportunities.
After attending two classes, I stopped showing up besides for the reviews. Go to the reviews, make notecards off of the slides, do the quizzes on Webcampus, and you will pass. He's just not very interesting, found it very hard to stay awake. He wrote the book, so he's constantly saying buy it. However, I didn't crack it once.
Easy class. I only went on test days after realizing there was no reason to go to the other classes. You won't need the book because all of his slides are provided online, and they are taken from the book. You get a huge cheat sheet as well so it is easy to get a good grade!
Everything boils down to 3 tests. He goes over powerpoint all class, and if you ask a question, he will likely not be able to answer it. This was the problem I had. I am a physical learner, and he was the worst professor of my college career. I could learn only from the book, because he was so bad at explaining how to do the math portions.
He was good professor. You are not required to go to class and his exam is really easy and you can bring a cheat sheet.
Had to learn the class on my own. Tests are 95% of grade and theres only 3. He makes the math way more confusing than it is.
Professor Wisner is awesome. His lectures are super important and the book is a great resource. Don't miss class, he awards free points for showing up to class which can account for 5% extra credit. Older professor but he doesn't let age slow him down! Exams account for most of your grade but they are easy if you study and he allows a cheat sheet.
3 non-comprehensive exams, 16 quizzes, iClicker participation, and one extra credit paper. The exams are worth 90% of your grade. The iClicker questions are optional. If you do well with them, they make up 5% of your grade. If you decide to not do them, the exams are worth 95% of your grade instead. Quizzes are 5%. The extra credit can be 5%.
Professor Wisner is one of the best professors I've taken at UNLV, really cares about his students. Tests are not difficult, study hard and you'll get an A.
The book was sold heavily since he wrote it, but I don't feel it was necessary. I only used it for the first exam. The professors lectures were great and really informative. I watched them in 1.75x speed because he speaks slowly though. Overall a pretty easy class. 3 exams, non cumulative.
He tests and quizzes you on stuff from the book not his lectures quite often. That being said, his book (over Cognella) is complete garbage. The Bookstore Vitalsource website never works, so how am I supposed to read the book?
