This course was great! There are 4 or 5 quizzes that are based on short readings he gives you. So long as you remember key points in the articles then you're good. His exams are trickier though. They're a mix of multiple choice, T&F (I think), and short answer. They're pretty lengthy and are completely based on lecture so GO!

Not sure how everyone said the course was easy cause it is closed notes. Tests ask about the most obscure details. Every disease mentioned needs to be known for the midterms. Study guides are long. The entire course is a memorization exercise. There are 300-400 slides to know per midterm. Not a ton of info on each slide, but it builds up. Not easy.

I took him recently, and I loved the class so much as a GE. The midterms/final can be tricky, but if you put in the effort to study and memorize, it's fairly easy to get a higher score. It is a lot of memorization but not a ton of work outside of class. I've really enjoyed the class and stay engaged every lecture.

The entire course is graded by exams. Super difficult to keep up with typing every single second he talks, but we have to because it will all be on the exam. Used to be an easy GE because it was open note, but now it's like a bio class with extremely heavy memorization. Good luck

the professor is nice and knowledgable but the tests are not easy. closed notes and extremely specific. The slides aren't very useful either cause they lack information. tests are MC and short answer. interesting topics, but i would also not recommend if you don't want to essentially take a bio class. 14 quizzes but fairly easy points.

Enjoyed this class! Prep quizzes and easy assignment talking about a disease you choose make up a good bit of your grade. Exams are under 50%. I felt they were fair and not bad if you go to lecture. Would recommend the class as he is a fun lecturer and is very clear. He clearly loves the material and sharing it & I thought was interesting too!

I loved having Professor Leveau. He is so nice and he is super funny. He always explains the material very well, and you always know what to expect on the test. In addition, you barely get any homework, and he always tries to do what is best for his students.

Professor Leveau was an above average professor I'd say but not the greatest. All exams were MCQ with some short answer, and a lot of the questions required some memorization of the content. His lectures can sometimes get a little boring without engagement, but the content was very interesting. Also 2 small projects that are very simple to complete

Dr. Leveau is a great and interesting guy. He is funny and his lectures are sometimes entertaining. It's important to pay attention during lectures as his tests are closed note and very specific. Tests are not too heavily weighted (I got 80% on 1st midterm and still got an A+ in the class with easy 2% extra credit assignment). Memorization is key

lectures contained a large amount of fairly surface-level information which made the tests feel a bit like disease-themed trivia questions. As long as you go to the lectures or read the slides/listen to the recordings the class is pretty easy. The quizzes on canvas can be easy to forget about, but 4 out of 14 of them aren't counted so it works out

This class was a great GE, very interesting subject for anyone interested in medicine. Short readings every week, and quizzes are open-note with only 3 questions. 4 lowest quizzes are dropped. The midterms aren't open-note anymore, but the test is mostly multiple-choice and not hard if you pay attention in lecture. Final is non-cumulative.

Professor Leveau was pretty great. The content from this class was very interesting and valuable. However, I will say that his lectures are not very engaging. I would honestly fall asleep pretty often in his class because he'd kind of read off his presentation while adding a few extra things sometimes. 3 exams (non-cumulative) and 2 simple projects

Professor Leveau is really kind and keeps the lectures very light-hearted. However, his exams are no longer open note and take a lot of memorization + study guides are just huge chunks of info. There's not much work outside of class aside from the prep quizzes and storybook project (which do not take a lot of time and are pretty easy).

Easy class overall, but you do have to memorize a lot of facts for the exams (I used Quizlet to study and did well). Lecture slides are long, and he usually didn't post the blank slides before class (which was annoying). Pretty easy GE but you do have to put some time into it.

He's knowledgeable but lacks engagement with students. As head of the department, he doesn't offer much support when students face challenges. He tends to have a 'not my problem' attitude, which makes it difficult for students to feel heard or assisted when they need help.

Leveau makes lectures entertaining (he is very funny) and explains concepts very well. He includes a lot of graphs/illustrations in lectures that are helpful in understanding core topics. Your grade is based on 3 non-cumulative!! exams (multiple choice/2-4 short response) and a brief writing assignment. I would totally take him again.

Interesting class. There are mini quizzes based on readings almost every week but they're very straightforward and a few of the lowest scores get dropped. The midterms and final have long study guides that require a good amount of memorization, but as long as you dedicate some time to review you should be good.

Loved this class. Prof. Leveau was super funny and it made lectures way more interesting. It's graded by 14 4-question quizzes (lowest 4 get dropped), a 350 word essay about a disease, a storybook based on that essay, and 2 exams + a final (non-cumulative). Easy to pass if you just listen during lectures (audio recordings posted) and take notes.

Very funny professor! Slides are really clear, no recording of lectures but slides on canvas are definitely enough. No cheat sheet or anything-there is a lot of information to memorize for exams, but almost everything is multiple choice with a little bit of short response so it's not that bad. Study! The extra credit really helped my grade too.
