She is a good teacher. She knows what she talks about, but you do have to study hard to get a good grade on her tests and quizzes. If you don't like to study, don't take her.

BEST Professor. Didn't realize how good we had it until taking other profs:she gives many assignments, so LOTS of chances to improve grade. Do Learnsmart for each chapter and you'll grasp material. I took her half online and half in class lecture and lab courses. She was hard but she would help you if you needed it. Her lab was easier then her lecture. She is a nice lady and she lets you take a 3X5 index card for her test in class.

I just took her for microbiology lab and lecture and she was wonderful! Always extra credit on test and she even lets you use an index card on lecture test which is awesome! Ms Melendez is an awesome teacher! She is a working microbiologist, so she knows her stuff. She cares about her students' success and really wants them to learn. Had her for both MCB lect and lab (online). She's very understanding, helpful, and super nice! Both classes were well structured and clear. She gives ample time for tests (very helpful for those who suffer from timed test anxiety). Utilize her recorded lectures, PP's, learning objectives, and STUDY. Professor Melendez was always available for help through emails and in person. I definitely recommend her and taking MCB 2000L online; much easier this way.

I took the online Micro Lab and Lecture with her and I really really enjoyed both classes. Her online courses are some of the best I have taken, and I have taken a lot. Don't miss due dates and turn in everything on time and you will get a good grade.

Great teacher, very laid back, not too strict on attendance, extremely understanding, if you can't make it to a test she has no problem with letting you retake it whenever you can. I took both Lecture and Lab online with her. While lecture was typical, with lectures and quizzes, lab was a virtual lab, and pretty cool. Both sections online use McGraw Hill Connect for assignments and tests. In the online format, everything except the Final Exams are open book/notes. Final comes from the previous tests.

If you put in the effort an A is very easy to obtain. You will need to use the textbook a lot but her all the test and homework question come straight from the book. All the homework is unlimited attempts. Easy A on the lecture. Lab is a little more challenging because there is no book. Beware of the lab. Still got an A in both.

Professor Melendez was a great teacher. I had her online summer lecture and lab, and everything is straight forward in how you need to do your work. She has everything set up, and it is pretty simple. Only final exam is at test center.

I loved Prof Melendez' class. I was interested in RN, but after taking her lab, I switched to Biomedical lab tech. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Super easy! Took her for lab and lecture online and best decision ever. 98 in both. Homework and lab you get multiple attempts before the due date. Test 1 attempt bye she gives ample time. I took her for both Micro then again for IDS. Her lectures are very put together, and she keeps your attention. Her exams are self explanatory. If you have any questions outside school she answers in a timely manor. Do the homework, it's not hard but makes or breaks your grade!

Professor Melendez is very organized and really helps her students. You will read entire chapters in your book. Sometimes the homework is short and other times it will take you over an hour to complete. She's also, the only professor i've ever had that assigned multiple homework assignments over spring break. The class is A lot of work.

She's good-I'm just a bad student. I procrastinate but her exams definitely reflect the material if you do it and study. There's hw with unlimited attempts and Honorlock tests. Halfway through, she let us use study guides but the tests became more specific, which is a problem if you don't understand the material. Studying is important.

Labs are online on Connect and interactive simulations. This made it easy to understand. I took her for lecture but I was bad at it bc I'm not good in lectures or studying. There's no lecture in this and the studying can be minimum. The tests are based on labs and there's ppts on the material is well.

Professor Melendez is fantastic. I took her for Micro and the lab. Really helps you understand Microbiology and makes this class interesting. You must read the material and if you are confused, ask questions. She is easily accessible. Always willing to help and clarifying things. A must take for anyone who loves science.

This was definitely an easier class than I thought it would be. The lab was way less work than the lecture but they were both moderate. All assignments were unlimited attempts and 2 attempts were given for the tests. Honorlock, no notes but definitely reasonable expectations. 10/10 would take this again, I wish this professor taught all my classes.

This class was amazing. Lots of reading and a lot of material for a 6-week class, but if you take it on its own, totally doable. This professor's office hours arent all that helpful because she seems to get off track a lot, but the class is very self-explanatory. I definitely recommend taking this professor. 2 attempts for tests and 100%s on HW.

Excellent study material that will help you understand what we are learning in the chapters. Easy to understand syllabus and rules to follow in the class. There was an easy extra credit opportunity, the labs are 100% participation (& are the lecture practice quizzes). The lab exams themself are super easy. The worst of it is the boring chapter reading for lecture but its doable.

Took prof. Melendez in person this spring semester for both lecture & lab she was great but definitely take her class in person and not online! There is 6 test & final is optional on the exams she provides extra questions to be counted as extra credit which is great that she does that.

I had professor Melendez in lab and lecture. Overall, she is a GREAT professor. She sets her students up for success. The tests are Honorlocked, notes aren't allowed. So, it's very crucial to study all the course material that's provided within each module. Extra credit is offered to improve scores and the final examples are optional. Good luck!

Great professor, labs were always fun and hands on. Lecture was from start to finish, homework every week thru McGrawHill, time consuming but u get 100. allows a flashcard during lecture exam, 2 lecture exams were online, final is optional. Has study guides for every exam- read syllabus and do not procrastinate on studying bc its lots of material.

Easy to get a good grade in this class if you study well and do all the assignments. Mcgraw assignments can be pretty long but you will get an 100 as long as you finish it. Prof. Melendez teaches well and is very kind and understanding. Lab was very fun and hands-on and the lectures were informative. She also drops your 3 lowest assignment grades.

She is a great teacher for MCB-2000 and I took her for lecture and lab. She is very clear with instructions and provides video lectures that helped a lot.
