I took this class at Fort Jackson; class never lasted the whole time. He talks off the top of his head the whole lecture. Gives a reading guide for the chapter that is helpful. 2 tests that were multiple choice, T/F, and essay. He gives the essay questions beforehand and goes over main points for the essays. Take the class but expect to read!

Lectures are boring and rarely paid attention. Attendance was taken every day but classes rarely lasted the whole hour and fifteen minutes. The quizzes were easy if you did the online practice quizzes and the tests were very straight forward. Essay questions given in advance.

50% of the exam grade is for writing essays. The essays have to have many paragraphs with a good thesis statement. You also must follow the outline for the essay or you would get a 0 even if you wrote a great essay. I didn't pass the course because he is super tough. I don't recommend him to anyone at all

Uses stories of his growing up as context. Not as objective as could be for a less one dimensional look at the world. Sort of his history and view.

I don't really understand his negative reviews: getting an A is easy. Do the readings, do the online practice quizzes, and study for the essays on your tests if you put in a little effort, you will succeed.

Mr. Abdalla is a great professor. His history lectures are more in the format of story-telling, attend classes & you will remember most of it. He takes MCQ quiz after he finishes a chapter No make-ups. There is a Mid-term and then a final exam both with 20 one-word answer and 1 essay. Pay attend, use course documents & read. You'll do we great.
