Very much a lecture class. Make sure you attend to get all of the notes. His pop quizzes may through you for a loop. Caution: Susceptible for absentness to class. Beware of early morning cancellation emails.
He is a great professor. Easy to talk to and he knows his material very well. I had a blast in his class.

Sometimes he shows up, sometimes he doesn't. His tests often have nothing do do with his lectures. Tells funny stories though. Should probably get his health checked since he looks sick EVERY DAY.
I think he's crazy. Sometimes he would ramble on and tells stories about his past life when he was much more successful. NEVER LISTEN TO HIM!!! Read the readings and you'll do fine.
The guy rambles A LOT. Expect to learn very little (except about anecdotal stories about his life). Doesn't respect the audience because he wastes their time with things about his life.
This has, HANDS DOWN, got to be one of the most entertaining professors I've ever had. He knows more than just about anyone I've ever met, you can remember just about every important thing he lectures on, and his tests are fairly easy. HE RULES!!!!!!
sick all the time
This was one of the most entertaining and interesting classes I've ever taken. Great class and even greater teacher. If you can't enjoy this class, you got problems. Tests and quizes from lectures, takes attendance. Prof Adams RULES!!
It is hard to take notes during his class, but he really enjoys what he is talking about which makes it a fun class to be in.
Prof. Adams is the best, he is very informative and knows the material quite well. Midterm & Final all based on lectures and readingd. 3 Quizzes all based on lectures. Takes role regularly.
One of my favorite profesors and classes. Very entertaining, goes over all the reading in class and the tests are based on that.

Very knowledgeable, but on both ends: he can be extremely interesing or boring. His lectures about Greece and Rome rock - I would listen for hours. He knows amazing details. Easy quizzes, easy tests, easy class.
He is a good prof with lot of knowledge, but wastes time in class speaking about his handfull of achievements. Thats not fair for students who come to learn but not to hear his bragging!. I recommend him if u want to get a good grade and not learn a thing
A very interesting and enthusiastic teacher. You can tell that he truly loves what he teaches. It's kind of difficult to deduce into your notes what he is talking about, but do the reading and attend class and you should have no problem getting an A.
I loved this class. Very, very interesing and fun. He really loves this subject and you can tell by the way he teaches. I was kinda sad when he cut his hair though. He still an awesome professor!
Super easy, very interesting and somewhat funny. Although he can be rude when you ask questions. FYI: a feminist and anti-Bush, so if you can stand that you'll be okay.
He made Latin managable and for that, I am thankful. He is a kind man who wants others to be interested in his passions. Don't be afraid to tackle Latin--he makes it interesting, relevant, and challenging, but not life-consuming!
Nice guy but lectures are SO BORING! Too many things to memorize for exams (people, their actions, and laws, theories etc get jumbled.) 3 quizzes which he gives best 5 of 6 questions per section. You REALLY have to enjoy the reading for this class - I thought I'd love this class but it was so boring
THIS GUY IS AWESOME.QUIZES HAVE 12 QUESTIONS, BUT ONLY TEN COUNT. NEVER TOOK NOTE AND GOT AN A-. BEST TEACHER EVER. LOOKS LIKE THE EMPERIOR FROM STARWARS MIXED WITH BOSS NASS. SOUNDS LIKE Wallace Shawn. very cool guy. knows and loves his stuff. best class to take.

excellent teacher. lots of memorization, but interesting. Greek and Roman Mythology finally make sense! the stories were presented chronologically, so you understand how different myths relate to one another. v. cool
He's a great proffesor! He knows what he is talking about and his lectures are funny and interesting. There is a lot of memorizing but believe me if you like the greek mythology it's the best class and prof to take. Wish he thought other classes.
best GE class ever taken, slept 50% of the time, still got an A. class only meet on mon and wed, fri are for free time, quizzes are easy, exams are even easier, as long as you write something, you'll get points for it.
Loved Greek myth b4 this class, so I knew more than most people to start with. Easy class/teacher. I never took notes, never read the book, always went to lectures on Mons & Weds, no lectures on Fridays. Tests/quizzes were cake...I almost felt guilty that I had done absolutely nothing to get my A.
he is pretty boring...there are too many things to memorize...he talks really fast. he has quotes on his quizes.
Okie so if you just go to class....take notes on M and W you will do fine in the class. But you have to go to class. I didn't even read a single page and just took good notes and got an A. He's an easy grader and very understanding and funny. Very easy class, you just have to be there though.
Maybe his Greek myth class was alot better, but his FLIT 150 class SUCKS!!!!! I actually LIKE going to school, and I HATED THIS CLASS. All he does is sit there and talk, it's like he just likes to listen to the sound of his own voice. Awful. We got our MIDTERMS back in MAY!! SOO boring. Not reading = fail class.

A fun class and easy A. All you need to do is to attened the lectures, which are most of the time his hillarious comments in many issues. Fun class to relax.
I enjoyed this class. Professor Adams is a little boring and all he does is talk but I am in no way denying that I learned anything. Reading is a must but mostly pay attention to what he says and don't miss any classes because he won't go over things twice. Tests are open ended questions and take home essays. Got an A in the class..smooth sailing.
Has lots of indepth knowlendge in his field.
LOVE HIM! he's a little nuts but the class is really interesting. don't bother with the book, just show up and listen for an A.
The online assignments (yahoo chat) can be a little obnoxious, but the in class lectures are great, hes extremely opinionated and often goes on off topic rants about different subjects which are barely related to what is being talked about. This is the only class this semester that I actually enjoy going to
easy grading
He was one of my favorite professors
Easy if you take good notes and actually use the resources you get for the OL project (hint hint) but dont forget to pay attention to him and what his explanations are. quizzes are a pice of cake the Midtm and final are a bit harder but if you get stuck or are just having problems with something ASK HIM he is approachable and will try to help!
A good teacher. He managed to make Latin class a rather interesting one.
First thing you and everyone else is going to think is Great he looks like Pinguin from Batman- but the guy is a field commander of satire. Smart funny- by far my favorite class this semester. Its like going to a one hour class for story time- but good stories- sex, murder, incest, war, and even the bible! You do learn alot. Nuts but true.
He was very clear in every one of the classes. Meaning you kew what the subject he was speaking about was on. The quizes, that lead to your final grade are hard though. Wokrs off of quotes which makes it nearly impossible to remember which historical figure cae up with it, other than that I suggest reading and highlighting certain names in the text
OK, this class sucked. The material is all about sex, homosexuality, violence and all kinds of none sense, like wifes having sex with bulls. The teacher was funny, but absolutely unhelpful, and the book was all wrong compared to the stupid lecture. Avoid this none sense.
Ok I knew nothing going into the class, and know nothing after. Teacher is boring, you have to go to class or youwon't pass the tests. Did no reading and got a B in the class.
I got a B. The two writing assignments were difficult, but the quizzes, mid term, and final were easy. The quizzes, midterm, and final were fill in the blanks. Makes the lectures as interesting as possible.
The book has practically nothing in it for the tests. What he tells you for the test is not complete, come over prepared. His jokes aren't that funny and some aren't even related to the class subject. I received a C+, but try and avoid this professor unless you know a lot about Classics before hand.
Very annoying class. The book does not help AT ALL!!! You have to guess whats going be on the test and talks to fast for note taking...Don't Take Him!
Loved this class. You have to be interested in the subject matter to enjoy it. He has a lot of knowledge. If you go to class take good notes and do the readings, you'll do well.
I got an A. But I all ready knew most of the myths. There are 3 quizzes, midterm, and the final. The midterm and final are fill-in-the-blanks and a take-home essay. And there is yahoo.com class assignments which are annoying. Prof. Adams just likes to lecture, but not on the actual myths. He rambles off into a lot of tangents and random stuff
this class was sooo boring!! i hated waking up for this 800 class.. but i managed to get an A, i have no idea how though. he lectures on and on he has it memorized he can do it in his sleep, just still try to pay attention when you're dozing off..
Do not take this class unless you LOVE Greek mythology! The book was dry and hardly helpful at all!
Stay away from him. He's very boring and makes you memorize alot of quotes. (like 30 and up) but he only uses 5 on the quizes. I made a mistake by taking his class for GED requirement. Art history is probably better!
He really knows his stuff. I really thought I would like the class but I found it boring. There were a few times when the class got interesting but those times were few and far between. I think it had more to do with the material rather than with him. I found that he was helpful and an easy grader.
Although he has an unusual sense of humor, he likes what he teaches. He takes roll, so go to class everyday. True, you have to memorize A LOT of quotes to pass his tests. And yes, you have to do A LOT of reading from the book, in order to pass. But, overall, he's not a strict person. Just take good notes and you should be able to get at least a C.
the worst class i ever had, the way he explains seems boring so you don't know what to do, and not clear on anything, the only easy thing was the take home essay, you get confused on what to read and so. If you don't believe me you will after taking this stupid course. Good luck, above average but he gave me a d+ after getting A on the essay. WHAT?
WORST PROFESSOR EVER! I've never been in such a class! He basically rambles on and on about nothing. He strays from topic so much and has this smug and certain cockiness about himself, like he thinks he knows his material so well, but when asked questions, pauses too much. Weird sense of humor. BORING CLASS, will leave class taking NO useful info!
Makes an extremely hard subject doable. Very helpful, maintains at the student's pace. Got a B+ in a class I honestly thought I'd fail beforehand. Very interesting and knowledgable, highly recommended if you are interested in Latin.
GREAT PROF!! He's into his subject and he really knows his stuff. He's also full of all kinds of random interesting facts that he relates to the material as a way to help you understand. Take home essays require work, but he grades fairly. In class quizzes are easy if you listened to his lectures. He gives very animated and interesting lectures.
Showed up late for class, often when on tangents, talked excessively about students not understanding the fundamentals. But when he taught the material he was excellent. Unfortunately he abruptly retired so those in my 651 class are not prepared for 652 with a different professor.
i love his classes. i've taken class315 and flit150. why? cuz it was easy. seriously. and his sense of humor. haha. i think he likes to drink a little much but his stories and tangents make the class fun. attendance is mandatory. goes over the material for quizzes same day. tests are take home essays. oh and i never bought a book. ever. got A's.
He is an alright professor. The class is not very difficult but he does not present the material well and is also confusing and not very clear. However, it was nice not having class on most Fridays.
He is the best. Such a great guy!
Great prof! Funny and full of random interesting facts. Reasonable workload and tests aren't hard if you've followed the lectures.
Prof. Adams is one of the most interesting characters I have ever met; although, I thought it was going to be a hard class, it was clearly the wrong thought. Theres 4 quizes, which he gives you what to study, Midterm-take home, homework due on Fridays-writing on particular greek gods, over all this class was a piece of cake.
Professor Adams is one of the most adequate people to teach, I've had Prof. for Flit 150, Mythology 315 , Latin 101. He has always taught the class in a very understandable form, if you have questions he will answer them, Grading scale is not hard attendance is mandatory. If you pay attention and do the little work he gives you will love the class
one midterm and one final with a few random quizzes inbetween (which he announces a week in advance). do the assigned reading and attend class and it's cake. he supplies possible answers for the tests/quizzes. he knows his subject and is down to earth with a good sense of humor. he takes attendance every class
You just have to take good notes during lectures, which I have to admit are pretty boring. The answers on the test are always from the lecture. The book is a good follow up of the lecture. that's it. 4 quizes, and a take home midterm paper. Prof. Adams looks like the guy on the Quaker Oates box.
Adams is a cool prof., but the material can get somewhat boring at times. Grade based on midterm, final and intermittent quizzes. Not difficult if you do the readings. Reasonable, fair and often witty professor. This class works well for a G.E.
Awesome professor!! Pay attention in class, take good notes, and just follow his study guide and you'll do well :) His lectures are so engaging and interesting - definitely take it with Professor Adams if you're thinking of CLAS 315. It's an easy class, with 3-4 MC quizzes, 1 essay midterm & 1 essay final.
You need to have A LOT of love for this subject. I went purely insane trying to focus! but he's a great, funny, and knows what he's talking about. it just wasn't for me.
He would be a great professor if he were a bit more empathetic towards students. He sent both mid and final essay topics very late, but expected both to be turned in on time. He failed to inform the class of quiz topics after stating he would email them. His class should be easy if you study and pay attention..oh and if his memory doesn't fail..
Loved this class. He's funny and every now and then references South Park. He does a great job of telling you the myths and their origins. His quizzes are random but as long as you study, you'll do fine.
He really knows mythology and makes it very interesting. The Yahoo page is weird but the tests and papers aren't hard. I now have a new understanding of Greek mythology.
Great professor. Loves to lecture. Easy course, reading material, and grader. Attend all classes and pay special attention to the names of the Greek gods/titans. Most test questions deal with naming the correct God to the correct attribute or achievement.
I loved this class! Do the reading and everything makes sense...the work is all reasonable (not too much)..he basically tells you stories! =]
most boring class ever! he is very nice and very easy. but his lectures are soooo boring!!! he says his class isn't a mickey mouse class. but that's what it exactly is!
I enjoyed the material of the class but wouldnt advise this prof. When stds asked important Qs in class he got annoyed and belittled them in front of other stds. The work was easy, I got A- / B+ on every quiz test and paper but he still gave me a C- in the course for missing the online discussion assignment. So word to the wise: DO THE ONLINE HW!
Hilarious professor. Take notes on everything he says because you can never be sure what obscure details will be on the test. Very passionate and knowledgeable about his subject. Midterm and final consist of a written paper over the weekend and then a test in class. Somewhat boring lecture but pay attention and you'll do well.
Very nice professor, who loves what he teaches. Has a tendency to prolong class time with stories that sometimes are irrelevant to subject. Get off topic easily, but very well put together class.
Do not take him if you have no interest in Greek mythology. You will be bored out of your mind. Quizzes are very hard. You have to read the book and pay attention to the non important details about so many God/Goddess.
Easy class but extremely boring. 3 quizzes (all easy). 1 midterm and final which consist of a take home paper and a fill in the blank test in class (which is exactly like the quizzes, supereasy!)Hate the yahoo group discussions though but make sure to do it because its worth 30% of ur grade.
Latin is the greatest language ever, and I was super excited to learn it. It's really easy to be lazy in this class and still get a fairly decent grade. However, it's really like learning any other language. You have to pay attention to understand what's going on. He makes you do presentations about ancient historical persons.
I am currently taking the class and I'm going to be honest I have studied, took notes and paid attention somewhat in class but I still manage to get low grades on the quizzes in class and midterm. He talks all class period long reading out of a book and you have to just sit there and listen. Its a very boring class I thought it would be really fun.
He is hilarious! There's not much to this class so just make sure you read/take notes for the midterm and final (which are fairly easy) and you'll do fine.
This Professor is interesting. Goes off topic WAY too much. 75% of the class is off topic stories. Easy grading so far though. Unfortunately, there is almost no other choices if you are interested in this Greek and Roman myth class. Also, he completely skips Roman myth, as he believes its a rip off of Greek Myth.
Horrible teacher. Goes off topic way too much but expects you to know answers for quiz and midterm. Lots of reading involved. You have to learn on your own. He lectures about random topics and you have figure out what is important. I was so interested in this class and now it was just worthless. A waste of my time.
This teacher was very unclear with the lecture. What he talked about in class was never in the quizzes or exams. When he was lecturing, people would be texting and on their laptops doing something else. Class would be cancelled frequently. Study guides were useless because they weren't on the test or quizzes. I would not recommend him.
i thought this class would have been interesting but after taking it i realized it was a mistake. this class is extremely boring. the fact that it was a 3 hour class once a week didn't help. i took notes all the time but his quizzes were too hard. you have to memorize EVERY single character. it's unclear what he expects of the essays. AVOID.
Funny guy. Knows his stuff very well. Do not procrastinate like I did! You MUST study. His quizzes are no joke. They are usually 10 blanks to fill in with about 40 choices on the bottom. Would recommend. Would also recommend to sit towards the front. Very interesting class! My own fault I didn't do so great.
Prof. Adams really knows his stuff. If you're interested in the subject you'll enjoy the class. His lectures are just retellings of Greek and Roman myths. The class may be boring, but it's an easy A if you pay attention in class.
Rambles on and on. I take notes often in other classes and had a hard time writing down what was needed for quizzesexams. Often funny, but I would not take him again.
Long Lectures that run up the entire period and attendance is mandatory. I love Greek Mythology but I fell asleep half of the time cause he's a dull speaker and rambles about other things. Best advice is to sit in the back of the class and make friends with people around you that actually read. If you follow the study guide you'll get an A.
At first, the class seemed awesome and fun. You later realize that he rambles, goes off topic, name drops, includes personal stories too often that are irrelevant. Quizzes make no sense even including the study guides. It's hard figuring out what nonsense coming out of his mouth is actually worth paying attention. I wouldn't take this class.
definitely a rambler, but I can tell in lecture that he lives and breathes greekroman history and mythology. He is very knowledgeable and passionate in the subject, so listen carefully, but reading up is just as important. Assignments are very nonspecific. All exams are around 15 fill in the blank questions.
As long as you show up and pay attention, this is an easy A. Professor Adams is helpful and incredibly knowledgable. However, many of the lectures aren't based upon GreekRoman myth, making things a bit frustrating. His assignments are not always clear, but his grading is extremely fair. Overall, I enjoyed the class.
First few weeks of class was easy, but after one month in his class he expects you to have read half of the textbook because he will give you 10-12 fill in a blank question quiz that has a bunch of choices. His quizzes are confusing, so you need to read a lot. Doesn't give enough info for midterm and final paper. Study guide wasn't helpful at all.
Don't do it. He doesn't know how to lecture. He is story telling the entire time and just expects you to remember everything. He gives "study guides" before quizzes and tests, don't help at all. You have to read the book cover to cover in order to actually get an A. He doesn't respond to emails and doesn't seem to enjoy talking with students.
He goes off topic very often, his most used expression is "I digress". He has online assignments that aren't very clear and you have no idea how he grades it. His "study guides" for quizzes and tests don't help. Your saving grace is the two papers assigned for the midterm and final that count for half your grade on the test. Wouldn't take again.
He does not go off the book. gives quizzes on things you read not what he goes off in class. he is so boring and goes off topic. one of the worst teachers. would not recommend.
An amazing professor with great insight on government and political theory. He's a bit pessimistic, but that's ok. He has exciting firsthand stories about Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, and Timothy Pickering.
