Exams are from lectures and hmwk. gets down to bus. but good corny stories;jokes
boring class/subject, not the best teacher but a really nice guy&willing to help
very boring teacher, makes u wanna go to sleep, tells stories about his horse!!!
This teacher is really nice, but the subject is boring. He told us about how his daughter's duck was eaten--kind of bizarre, but his weird stories break up the monotony of the class.
Ready to teach yourself Govt. Acctg? Work isn't too hard. Just work over problems a million times to memorize and your cool. Excel/Access test is mostly vocab. and mindless crap. Need to do well to help out grade later!
Worse teacher I have had yet. Don't take this class during summer nor at SDSU if possible. You teach yourself accounting, if you're in to that have fun :) Not helpful... stories are lame and his tests are pointless! But im done so haha if you're taking it
Horrible professor...doesnt teach just presents material...if your into learning directly from the book this is your man...i wonder how he got hired he is sooo bad!!!!!!!
This guy is a number-tripper. He does not teach you anything and you can't learn anything, I wasted my summer taking this class
He is a really nice guy, but there really is no point in going to class. Accounting is a really hard subject to teach. If you read the book and go over his homework problems, you should be in B shape at least.
He teaches exactly from the book. He is pretty boring and you will not learn anything from him that you couldn't have learned if you just read the book. When he teaches about excel and access you only come to class to take the tests.
Easy section. Computer tests are easy, but he has the most stupid curve ever! 100% can actually mean 89%. Get a good grade in his Sec. so you can pass acctg322
Very easy and nice. Kinda goofy buy it is funny. Easiest part of 322!!!
Anderson seems very confused. He was not very approachable when asked about a clarification on a test question. Answers questions in class that circle around and end up where he started without answering them. Class is easy but don't bother going.
he doesn't know what he's doing in class. the only thing i learn is about his family.
I think he shouldn't teach, not only at a college level... He's uncapable to communicate with students. Lessons are boring, he doesn't explain accounting very well. The only good thing is that he curves grades a lot (may be too much)
easiest reading material i've ever had. if you need someone to explain it to you, then you should maybe think about another major - perhaps basket-weaving.
He's a well intentioned guy. He tells jokes in the middle of every class. Classes are really boring though. His tests are only 17 questions max. The last test was 4 questions. Bad thing is if you miss one or two on the tests you're down to a low B. So you have to be careful in this class.
If you READ the book, do the homework and understand everything, you will be fine. Easy to get an A or B. Just keep up with the reading.
the easiest section. lazy a.. teacher. but help you to pass the acc 322
didnt buy the book, didnt go to class ever, got a B
so easy ... never went to class .. looked at the book before tests and got an A ... take him he is so EASY
A very easy class. Read all the chapters and do the HW. Quizes are easy and the Microsoft Office part of the class is really not that bad. He has a hard time communicating with students, but has a kind heart.
Are you kidding me? Easiest class ever. Didn't go to class except on exam days. Do his homework questions and flip through the book, and get an A.
He's a very nice guy and his heart's in the right place, but he's not always very easy to understand. Then again, it's governmental/NFP accounting, what do you want? Do the readings and the HW and you'll do fine. The Excel/Access part is a joke.
Great Professor! He's very nice and always available for students who need help.If anyone complains about this professor it's because they never do their work. You are sad if you don't pass this class. He is very enthusiastic and likes his job.Not an extremely easy class but just go to class, take notes, and do your work and you should pass.
So pointless biggest waste of time. I wish I could get a refund because his class is like a broken cd.
Not an easy class but you can pass it. You have to really read the book and go over tons of examples.
EASY EXAMS!!! Lectures are hopelessly useless. If you can study well independently, then TAKE HIM!!... EASY EASY Exams. Take him in Summer: 3 exams and no cumulative final. Aced it....HUGE HUGE CURVES!!!!!! Yes you need a book and if you have a book, then you do not need class. Don't buy any study guide or whtever. Just the book.
Hard to understand
Really nice guy, easy tests, easy homework, and you'll learn quite a bit.
This man has absolutely no business teaching a class! I have not learned anything from him. Going to class is a complete waste of time because he just rambles on about nothing and reads the powerpoint slides. His tests are pretty simple, but they are only a few questions so don't miss more than three!
His okay. Compared to the other Accounting professors his a god.

Anderson was really straight-forward. Just do the reading and HW, and you'll do fine on the NFP part of the class. The software projects and quizzes are a piece of cake, just read.
Anderson is very soft spoken and is hard to hear. He needs to use a microphone and project to the class. If you are willing to do the homework and teach yourself, his tests are fine, but his lectures are inadequate and he does not engage the class.
If you show up to class, and review how to do the problems, which are posted on blackboard, the class isnt that hard. he breaks midterms into 2 tests on different days which makes it easier to study for. there also isnt a final.
You basically have to teach your self; there is no mandatory hw or attendance; your grade is based on six tests that are about 12 questions each but they are worth 100pts each. He is a nice guy and very approachable its just not an easy class to pass because of the tests
HORRIBLE TEACHER! Doesn't care about his students at all, and doesn't care about accounting either. Comes to class, reads from PP slides with a speed of light, so no one understands anything, and then lets the class out about 2 hours early. Can't ask questions during tests. quizes are 10-15 questions long. DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO TEACH!! STAY AWAY!!
This is a relatively hard class. The book is not good and the tests are rediculous. The tests are based off 3 chapters (about 75-100 pages) then the test only asks about 12 questions! I would take someone else if you can. But I never went to class and didn't try too hard and got a C+ so the choice is up to you
He just reads the Powerpoints; it was a hopeless waste of my time. Why do they hire people like this to teach in the California System; don't they know it is wasting taxpayers' money?
Best teacher I have ever had.
His lectures generally are not helpful. On average only 20 people come to class every day, out of the 150 people in the class. The only real reason to go to lecture is to see what is not going to be on the test; reading the book and doing the hw is more helpful. He is not very clear. Tests are difficult.
This guy is a total burnout! He was never prepared and not interested in the subject. You’ll basically have to learn on your own with this goofball.
he was really hard. his lectures weren't understandable. he was not helpful. you have to read the book and learn everything on your own. his lectures did not help at all. going to class also did not help.
Awesome professor; you won't need any private tutoring for this class.
This professor was nothing short of horrible. Anderson's unintelligible lectures demonstrated an obvious lack of preparation and he didn't seem to be interested in teaching us anything. To do well in this class requires countless hours trying to teach yourself or working regularly with a private accounting tutor. I chose the latter option.
Anderson knew the subject matter very well and was of great help when asking him questions. However, the way he teaches was just horrible. It's not an overly difficult class, but his lectures were just plain bad. Overall, the class was okay, but the lectures sucked.
It's unfortunate that people like him are allowed to teach in our college systems. He was never less than 10min late to class. He speeds through a whole chapter ppt in like 25 min & then spends the next 2 weeks rambling about hw problems that he never taught you how to do. Taught myself everything. Studied for hours before every test & still failed
CLASS=no one every shows up. Student study guide is recommended for studying for the exams, which are broken down into 6 exams throughout the semester - covers about 2-3 chapters each. However, I STRONGLY recommend studying the practice multiple-choice quizzes on a website provided by the author of the text you will be purchasing. Earned a C.
Out of some miracle, I managed to get a C. He tries...and u can tell he is an expert in managerial accounting...I do admire his brillancy in this subject...But everything was way too fast for me...the textbook was horrible..should have use kimmel's managerial txt b/c it's easier to understand. It seemed like an MBA level. CMA derived.
Horrible tests, horrible teacher, horrible textbook. Don't know how he is able to keep his job with so many complaints.
tough class, got a 90 for an A... study hard... one mess up on a test and your done...its easy to get a c if you study... if your trying to get a good grade good luck....
Horrible teacher! no one shows up to class ... all he does is read power points and has a 12 questions exams for 3 chapters making it almost impossible to get an a ... if u cant learn through a text book don't take it or go to a plus review .. hes useless
He is a pretty terrible teacher, no one ever goes to class because he does not explain anything. all he does is flip through slides and reads off them very quickly. test are hard and only have a few questions. You basically have to teach yourself, i did.
He is a nice guy but he can't teach and he comes late to class every day. Also, it is really hard to do well in the class since the tests have so few questions and he doesn't drop any.
This is seriously the worst teacher I have ever had. EVER. Sure, the guy is a genius in his field, but he needs to stay away from teaching. Incredibly low-tech guy (uses overhead slides) with no sense of urgency (was late to EVERY class meeting, including test days). In the end, I missed a passing grade by less than one percent.
Always late. Tough exams with very few questions. Don't ask any questions - he won't understand and takes forever to try to explain it. Very nice guy, but worthless as a teacher. I was VERY disappointed with him and this class. Also won't use +/- system - frustrating when you're 1% aways from the next highest grade.
Anderson's Accounting 202 class is a joke! He is always LATE! His lectures are worthless (and he uses transparencies to teach in a smart classroom, ridiculous). 6 tests, only about 12 questions each. Miss JUST 3 points on 1 of the 6 and you already have a C!! No curve out of 500 students!!
Its kind of sad because im sure he makes an excellent accountant. He just lacks the teaching gene I think. Nobody goes to class because its the same thing over and over (which does not help). Grade is entirely based on 6 tests that have around 12 questions each. Miss just 2 and there goes an A. He also doesnt give plus/minus grades which hurts.
Initially, it was a frustrating experience because I felt like I was trying to teach myself. I sought the help of an excellent accounting **** who advertises on campus. He helped me get an A in the course. I highly recommend him.
Extremely Hard to understand his lecture. He does not do a good explaining his material although he seems very knowledable. He is not good at teaching. I tried my best to understand his material but is worthless and I'm not the only one in this situation.
This guy just can't teach. I'm really frustrated. I'm paying 700 dollars for his class. Plus it is imposible to get an A since he gives only 3 test during summer. If you screw one of the test you are gone. I should of not taken summer school I'm really regreating
I just don't understand, how was he able to teach accounting in SDSU for so long with so many negative feedbacks. I read every feedback and majority of the people complained about his terrible way of teaching and I agree with the rest of the people. Don't waste your money and time on his class. Nice guy but he can't teach.
I'm extremly upset because he doesn't know how to teach and even when I ask him a question he is not very clear. He is lousy professor who uses slide to lecture his clase. It is frustruating to go to his class because you don't learn anything. Worst teacher I ever had in my life time.
All PPT, all the time. Professor adds little in the way of clarification. Either teach yourself (extremely difficult to do) or go see A. Tutor regularly. I did the latter and earned an A- because of it.
i took him over summer. the worst teacher i have ever had!! all he did in class was skim over powerpoints. no study guide at all. 3 tests. 5-6 chapters per test that were only 25 questions each. the only thing he spends time to talk about is useless things that don't have to relate to the course. he needs to stop being lazy and actually TEACH. i ba
What a waste of time and money! Going to class was useless. You basically have to read all the chapters and teach yourself. I got a B but it was the most Ive ever had to study. Do the recommended hmw, take the practice quizzes on the textbook website, and STUDY! Go to class to find out what you don't need to study for. Other than that its pointless
Anderson class= waste of money+ stress+ frustration+ boring + Power point or slides + few test+ not a lot of change to pass the class+ power point
I wonder how did be became a professor. Being a professor is extremely competitive and there are lot of other people who could teach better than him. Actually anyone can teach his class because he just reads of the slides.
He speed reads each of the slides and moves on to the next and that's pretty much his lecture. If you are taking this class, just don't come to his lecture cause is a waste of time and think you are taking an online class. Get lots of help from a tutor.I spend $800 for his summer class and I expected a better teacher but I get the sloppiest teacher
Many people had failed the class and had to re take it. If you don't believe me just see it for yourself. When you see him lecture you will probably wonder how the hell did he become a professor. Plus he is the only professor I ever had that did not have an evaluation form. He needs to improve his lecture or get fired. Tuition is not cheap
He is nice enough, but doesn't explain anything! I went to A. Tutor regularly and he taught me everything I needed to know. The tutoring made a big difference for me and I got an A in the class.
If you can read 3000 words per second then his slides are right for you. Basically a self taught course. I bet he is a genious in his field, but his teaching is not as great. The texts are helpful. Get as much help as you can for this course.
SLIDE SLIDE SLIDE SLIDE SLIDE. he waits about couple months before he throws the first two exams and the same for 3 and 4 back to back. didnt go to A+, i came to learn bc its my major and i dropped out mid semester bc going to class is USELESS and i need my proff to do his job and teach me.
I ditched this class I don't know how many times. He makes you go over the homework at least once a week. Reads off powerpoints and repeats the same personal stories over and over again. Never used the book except later in the semester, when I ditched so much I had to catch up. Overall good teacher just really boring.
who is this clueless person teaching accounting?! I was an A student until this class. No matter how hard you study YOU WILL FAIL. class is useless. He comes in 10 minutes late every time, shuffles through papers for another 10, then he rambles on for 10 and class is over! Now take an exam based on that! GOOD LUCK!
Don't go to A+. You'll be spending nearly $300. Do spend $60 on optional study guide to aid your note writing as you read (I thank the study guide for my A). Read book, take notes, reread book, know hw problems. Tests are hard because they are 13 Q's each - missing only one means a 92%. Absolutely useless to go to classes if you're self motivated.
Class is not very intensive. Attendance not mandatory, so if you do not go you can make up for it in reading. However he does help by letting you know in class what will be on the test and what is not necessary. Homework solutions are posted online
Avoid this teacher if possible. 10-30 ppl attend a 200 person class each day. Doesn't take attendance and his grading scale is completely broken. Everyone cheats on the tests. 6 tests total about 13q's each so if you miss 2 you're almost at a C. I've never been so happy to get a C.
Worst professor ever! Do not need to attend the class at all, because it's a total waste of time! Just read off from the textbook. Taking his class wasted my time and money! He doesn't give plus or minus, so if you have 79%, it's still a C! Poor testing and grading scale. He doesn't know how to teach! Avoid him if you can!
F this dude.
He was by far the worst teacher I have ever had. I read the reviews before taking his class and decided I would still try it out but his class was ridiculous! He does not know how to teach at all and his class of 500 only had about 20 people on a given day. No one comes to class because he doesn't teach anything! He should definitely be fired the o
Avoid this guy... He teaches at ucsd now!!! I can't believe they hired him he's such a joke of a teacher...he teaches nothing. He reads slides, assigns homework. And his tests are ridiculous don't even correlate with what he talks about...
He now teaches at UCSD. He is seriously one of the worst professors I have EVER had at UCSD. He did NOT teach at all, and he rambles on about his life. If you do choose to take this class, don't even go to lectures, just do the homework, read the book, and study the powerpoint slides. His lectures are a waste of your time.
Hes in UCSD now. I took MGT 5, 131B, 132, 135. nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he will ruin your GPA.
This is a tough class. You can pay for A+ review, but I didn't, I went to class instead. I have straight A's this semester excluding this class. At least he tries to help you out before the last exam and he will answer questions in class. Hard class, but he's not a bad guy.
This guy is mighty coy with pre-business majors and there grades when they have to have a certain GPA. I never went to aplus, just attended the classes and got a C. He doesn't give any +/- just A B C or F. Six Multiple choice quizzes that are pretty tricky. Went to office hours and he never gave me any good advice. Easier then acct201 though......
LOL SO EASY. seriously a joke. got almost a 100% in this class.
I've seriously never studied so hard for a class and only managed to get a C. He is a nice guy though. I spent a fortune on A+ review, studied my a** off, read the txt. Be careful not to psych yourself out on the test because if you get one wrong, its pretty much already a B. Attendance not mandatory, but it should be bc only like 20 ppl show up.
Nice guy and is more than willing to help. The was he phrases his questions on the test could be more clear! You do not need the study guide for the class never bought it. I feel bad no one showed up to his class but there is no reason to, just study on your own.
The worst teacher I've ever had! SDSU should be embarrassed to have this guy as an teacher! His lectures are very boring and when he does lecture he writes everything out as class goes on and you can't even read his writing because it is so bad and messy! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I really enjoyed his class. He was always teaching us things that were relevant to the test and he is just an all around nice guy. He reminds me of my gramps :) His handwriting is a bit hard to read and he takes FOREVER to hand out tests but I would definitely take him again. I can't believe he is rated so low? I literally got 100% on the final....
This class is fairly easy and it's even easier than ACCTG201. Just read the textbook and study for the tests you'll do fine. Only 30-50 ppl show up to the lectures out of a class of 250. Answers to the HW questions are posted on BB, so it's not 100% mandatory to attend class. There are 6 exams with 12-13 questions each.
I realized after the first midterm that I didn't need to go to this class. However, I easily got an A on the first two midterms(since for my class he separated midterm 1 into two days) and didn't get A's on the remaining ones. Can easily get a B without going, don't have to do hw...but buy the book!!! I didn't go to A+ either. Did bare minimum.
He's definitely not the worst teacher I've ever had, but I wouldn't have passed if I didn't go to A+ review. He doesn't collect homework or take attendance, so I stopped going to class after the second exam. In the lectures I did go, he taught the same chart every class so it felt really pointless. He's a nice person, so he's probably helpful.
Do not take this class. You can only miss 6 questions overall if you want to get an A in this class. I missed 8 and got a B. Highly recommended to take this class at a community college because he cannot teach and his handwriting is hard to read. This class is a easy C though because he curves the grade for the people who got an F.
Doesn't believe in + or - so if you end up with an 89.9... you get a flat B
Though on grades, not helpful at all and pretty cold as a person.
Attendance not required. 6 exams, homework is assigned but not graded for points. He has horrible handwriting that is not legible and is not organized so people just stopped showing up and continued walking out from lecture; decided to just show up on exam days. Textbook reading and A+ tutoring are highly recommended!
Terrible Teacher, can't read his handwriting and that's all there is to learn from. Class is only six tests, I'm not stupid, studied and went to A+ review, and I still got C's and D's on them. Do not take his class!
I went to the 1st class and didn't go back. Couldn't read his handwriting or keep up with what he was saying. Starts with the hardest material so the first test is the hardest. Read the text and practice the HW (solutions posted on BB) and should be able to get at least a B. Know the formulas by heart, tests a mix of problems and concept questions.
I had a mwf class and he would spend one day to lecture and then two days going over the homework. The classes when he would go over homework he would not take all of the 50 minutes. He has a very hard time explaining the concepts. you are basically left on your own and learn it anyway you can. He splits the midterms on two days. He is often late.
Honestly, the best way to take this class with him is probably to teach yourself the chapters, do the homework (although it doesn't count for credit) and use his lectures as more of a review. He's a nice guy. Not extremely helpful. But if you put in enough honest effort, you'll do fine.
The only thing that makes this class a pain is that he has 6 tests that are each about 12 multiple choice questions that are 100% of your grade. If you arent a great test taker you will want to kill yourself in this class.
Anderson seems very knowledgable, however, his lectures are beyond bland and dull. Don't take him if you aren't interested in accounting, which I wasnt.
He's a really nice guy but his lectures are very boring. I stopped attending class early in the semester. If you read the book on your own and do the homework you'll be okay. Your entire grade is based on 6 short tests.
Anderson is so boring! I never went to class though. Went to A+ Review and ended up with an A-. He takes forever to pass out tests. Homework isn't graded so I didn't do it.
Terrible teacher. Expects you to teach the information to yourself because doesn't lecture on half of the material you need to know for the tests. Tests are very difficult (only things that go in your grade) and are only 12-13 questions so you can't miss many to do well. Absolutely ridiculous that SDSU has an awful teacher like this. AVOID!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH ANDERSON! He does not care about students at all. Class is based on three hard test. Emailed him and he sent me a generic email he sent out to the rest of his students. He does not teach at all. Unless you have money for a + review I wouldn't suggest this class at all.
I was able to pass this class without going to lectures. I learned most things just by studying the book, a lot of people just go to A+ review for his tests as well. 6 tests, 12-13 questions per test. Spends one day to lecture then 2-3 days on explaining the homework, which is not mandatory. Doing the HW will help with the tests though!
Absolutely do NOT take this professor. Avoid him like the plague. I had to retake this class again over summer because I got a 69.88%. 70% is a solid C and he DOESN'T ROUND. I'm not a bad student either, I can guarantee you that I have always been in good academic standing but he ruined so much for me. Only 3 tests, that it in the grading books.
I went to class - skipped a couple times. Super straight forward. If you go to class, do the homework, then tests are a piece of cake. He literally just changes the numbers. He cares about students, gives you a ton of notes, definitely more than needed. All his homework had clear examples and took like an hour tops. I took his class at UCSD.
Friendly. Def read chapter/complete hw before attending lecture. Your grade is based on how well you do on 6 tests with about 15 questions each. You will have to teach yourself some concepts; text-heavy class
Prepare to teach yourself everything. Grade is only on six 12-13 question tests. So if you are not a good test taker, I defiantly do not recommend.
Avoid this professor if you can. To do well, you really need to read and learn on your own, as he leaves things out in his lectures. If you do end up with him, your best bet is to either go to A+ review, or read the entire textbook on your own.
Tough tough class. 6 exams, about 13 questions each and he does not curve whatsoever. Get ready to read a lot or go to A+ review. The only reason I passed this class was because my friend loaned me old test questions.
Alright, ideally this is a great class. I don't know about you, but I don't want a 16 chapter cumulative final. However, this man is the definition of monotone. His lectures are boring. Id suggest taking this class and investing in A+ review to pass with flying colors.
Anderson's class is made for typical College Student who has other stuff to worry about. I don't want to take a cumulative final ever, and he suffices there. His lectures and tone are a bit boring so using outside review or personal teaching is needed. But honestly, if you put in SOME effort, this class is a piece of cake.
IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE ACCOUNTING 202 TAKE ANDERSON. he is so much easier than any other teacher. your entire grade is based on 6 tests each of which are EASY 12 question tests. Attendance is not mandatory or necessary. I only showed up on test days and got an easy A by going to A+ review the night before. Anderson also is a cool guy, very respectable
I took the once a week, 2+ hour class offering. Lectures are boring but you usually get out early. The lecture notes are a good outline and overview for each chapter, but it is best to read the textbook yourself. The homework is easy and gives a nice boost to your grade.
The class itself really isn't too difficult. However, he's debatably the worst professor on campus. His "lectures" are unbelievably dull and aren't the least bit helpful. It's amazing that such a terrible teacher is the ONLY option for a class that's already difficult.
Terrible teacher. Whole grade is based on 6 tests, about 13 questions each. No curve. Lectures are only relevant to the homework, and the homework is only 50% relevant to the test. The rest you have to read from the book on your own. This dude sucks and is boring and tells garbage jokes. DO NOT GO TO A+ review. Complete SCAM. They won't help.
He really is a nice guy but extremely lazy in every aspect. Assigns homework, but doesn't check it. Doesn't take attendance, and sends his teaching assistant to office hours instead of being there himself. There are 6 tests for the entire grade. Manageable if you put in an absurd amount of effort.
Not a great teacher. Never takes attendance and says there is homework but younever actually need to do it or turn it in. I didn't go to the class once in the entire month of November. There are 6, 12-13 question tests and thats what your grade is.
Pretty difficult class. Your entire grade is 6 tests and that's it. Stopped going to class after the first couple weeks and went to A+ and they did a pretty good job explaining everything. He curves every test a little bit but not much!
6 tests is the whole class. He gives hw but it does not need to be turned in, it is just for practice. I never went to lectures and reviewed outside class (A+) and it helped a lot.
This Professor would make your life much harder:( I took his MGT131B, trust me, he tried everything he can to make in-class exercise easy but exams as hard as it could be and he will not tell you the average score of the class. AVOID HIM please!
To be frank, he is an awful teacher. Every lecture consists of him handwriting (with awful handwriting) lectures and answers to homework problems. He never even checks homework or attendance so only 10% of the class even shows up until exams. You MUST teach yourself., BE CAREFUL not to slack too much, your ENTIRE grade are the 6 exams.
6 tests that are 12 questions each make up your whole grade. if you miss 2 questions on each test you're looking at a B- at best. This guy is the worst
Probably the worst teacher I've ever had in my life, I originally thought since his class grades consisted only through the 6 exams, he would would provide great lectures. I realized this wasn't the case too late. Don't bother with his lectures, take the online course and save yourself a lot of trouble. Not even worth the effort.
The worst teacher I have ever taken. He does not know how to teach, and writes so unclearly. He claims he wants to help students, however when I went up to him after class to ask a question he ignored and dismissed me. 6 exams is your whole grade, I learned everything from A+ review. Avoid at all costs, I'm retaking the class over the summer.
Not the greatest professor at all. Exams are basically made up of the homework questions and a few conceptual questions. Only 6 exams and are about 12 questions each. If you study by doing to the homework you should be fine. Not the best but enjoys what he does.
The people who are ripping on Anderson are the ones who never showed up to lecture or put the effort in with this class. Yes, his teaching style is pretty outdated and class can be boring, but I know for a fact if you put in the effort by actually showing up and doing the work you can get an A. He is one of the most genuine & kind professors.
I never rate my professor but Anderson is soo bad at teaching that I legit took the time to make an account just to tell you how bad he is. You will regret taking him, your whole grade is based off 6 exams, 30 minutes each. He only puts 12 questions per exam so if you miss 3 questions say goodbye to your grade. The man is outdated and needs fixing.
Anderson is an old-timer. His class is out of 100 points, purely divided by 6 exams. The exams are 12-13 questions. They are tough, particularly because he only gives you 30 minutes on each exam. Lectures are extremely boring and impractical because of the small amount of content actually on the exam(s). Attend A+ Review and it won't be too bad.
Boring old lectures, that give an outline of the chapter. HW is easy, and tests are in a similar format as the hw's.
Anderson is a fine professor, as long as you understand how to do the homework you should be fine on the test. Only grades are 6 tests throughout the semester.
Anderson has been in the accounting business for years and it shows. Lectures can be a bit confusing but still good to attend, speeds up the reading and he goes over the homework questions. Always willing to help students and he truly does care and wants students to understand. Basically your grade consists of 6 exams, I would not expect an A.
The lectures are recorded so you don't have to watch live. There's homework but they aren't really worth much. Still recommend doing them though because they dont take much time + help u practice. 100% need the textbook. Tbh u don't need to go to lecture if you read the textbook thoroughly. Grade is based on 3 tests.
Prof Anderson is one of the most helpful professors I've had. He always takes time to answer any question students have and spends whole lectures going over homework to make sure everyone understands the material. It seems like he curves the tests a LOT and you just have to do the homework for credit even if you don't try or get the right answers
This class consists of 6 midterms and some homework that is worth 2 points of your grade (graded on completion, four free skips). If you want to get an A you have to read and understand, lot of studying. He seems like a nice guy, curves, this class is doable with work
Anderson is a nice guy who clearly has lots of experience in accounting, but to be frank he's not a good teacher. You're going to be entirely teaching yourself from the textbook, his lecturing style is outdated and ineffective. Exams are stressful because they have so few questions and make up so much of your grade. Mediocre professor at best.
This is the hardest class I've taken so far. Everything is based off of 6 exams that are only 15 questions which makes passing very difficult. Reading the textbook was key for me.
Prof Anderson is an extremely nice and caring person, you can tell he loves teaching. The course was straight forward he communicated the concepts well and despite the exams being small, the questions were easy and similar to the practice ones. Didn't read the textbook and still got an A. Not a good class if you have testing anxiety or thrive on HW
Weekly assignments, but he just grades for completion. His lectures can get a bit monotone, but you can tell he is knowledgeable and passionate about the content. His exams are REALLY hard and through Respondus, but he does curve them.
Professor John is a very nice guy, but his lecture is heavy and this is not an easy class, his exams are hard, you have to study a lot. If you need to choose one elective class, I suggest ACCTG505, it's very easy and a lot is common sense.
He is a very kind professor and makes it clear that he is there to support students. However, for this particular class, I found his lectures impossible to understand. Reading the book on my own was more helpful, but the subject is a bit exhausting so I still didn't understand it fully. If you are a skilled reader, you might get through okay.
Highly recommend taking 503 if you need an elective. Class is very organized, the book is an easy read (1 hr max). He gives you study guides and the homework is short/easy. I loved this class - one of my favorite classes at SDSU! I hope he gets to teach this class in upcoming semesters. If he does, sign up!
Anderson has taught this class for decades and you can tell. His lectures are heavy and monotone, but he's really passionate about this subject and seems to really care for his students' success. If you pay attention in class and follow along with his note packets you should be fine not reading the textbook. Tests are hard but he curves generously.
Professor Anderson is great at teaching ACCTG508 and I highly recommend you take this course as an elective. His class is over 2 hours and the lectures can drag on at times, but if you actively listen to him and read the textbook, you will grow as a student and earn a good grade.
HIGHLY recommend taking this class, it covers the gov/nfp section of FAR on the CPA exam. Lectures are long, but he's a nice guy and cares for students. HW was graded on completion, and 3 tests were curved every time. I found the topics in this course easier than other ACCTG courses. If you read the textbook + his notes, you're set for the tests.
Highly recommend! This class has a clear structure and Anderson provides lecture notes that he lectures with and they help a ton if you get burnt out reading textbooks a lot. He also writes directly on his notes which makes it easy to follow along with would otherwise maybe not stick if he were just reading off of powerpoint slides.
Professor Anderson is the best professor I have taken so far at SDSU. He is very knowledgeable and passionate when teaching. He gives weekly homework assignments but they're not hard & he grades on completion. There are 3 exams as long as you study his notes, homework and review the book you'll do just fine. I highly recommend taking him.
Prof Anderson is one of the best professors at SDSU! He's very knowledgeable and passionate about teaching. He's always available for his students. And his lecture notes are so helpful in understanding the material. I will use them for sure when studying for my CPA exam. Highly recommend taking Ethics in Accounting with him!
He curves, gives full credit for all homework turned in, 3 total exams. He loves teaching, his students, and is a terrific guy. He's passionate and knowledgable about the subject. His only flaw is he overexplains everything and his 3 hour lectures feel like torture. I was interested in the subject but I stopped showing up because it was too painful
Anderson's class is tough, but engaging. The lectures drag on, but his notes and textbook are super helpful. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for exam prep - highly recommend!
He mainly teaches by giving long lectures and giving low stakes homework assignments and going over them in the next day. You're going to have to read the textbook, but he gives outlines and tells you what you can omit. Overall, a great teacher who's respectful of students' time.
