ASSIGNS HW EVERYDAY. DROPS LOWEST TEST SCORE. HARD TO UNDERSTAND BECAUSE OF ACCENT BUT TRIES TO HELP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
easiest math calss i have ever had. explin very clearly and gives the best test ever. If you are elergic to math then take this class and you will become imune to it.
this teacher is the best very cool easy going simple assignments and easy tests if you try he still will pass you with his great attitude i am going to take him for two semesters now

John is a good teacher. He makes sure his students are able to understand the math lessons. He assigns homework everyday but its not that much!!!! He's a great teacher a little wierd but he's cool!!
I failed math & took John for summer school. Had him for 092..he was great for both classes. He is a wonderful professor and explains very well..cares about students..wants you to pass the class. Hates cell phone usage in class passionately...highly recommended...great teacher...guarantee pass if its 092/093...he rocks
So rude. He talks to you like you are crazy. His accent is also hard to understand. And he has yet to show up to class on time!

I did not do well on any of the test thoughout the whole semester until the end. Plus, i failed the mid-term but i did all the homework, showed up to class everyday and passed some of the quizes. He is great, at the end he droppes your lowest score and gives you extra work to make-up. Attendance is mandatory.
overall he is a good teacher and the material is fairly easy but can be uptight about cell phone usage and will take points off if he see's you even looking at your cell phone. He gets mad at weird things for no reason.
pretty nice guy. he's actually one of the ones who WANT to help. Ask lots of questions, do the homework (it pays off), and COME TO CLASS. his tests are pretty straight forward and if you don't understand anything, JUST ASK.
he's very laied back and we only covered two and a half chapters all semester. The tests are exactly like the quizzes. Likes athletes.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! I can't stress this enough. He is extremely rude and very unapproachable. He is very unclear when explaining anything! He tries to embarass students who asked questions. Take him only if you like teaching yourself math!! Take Carr or Nisakorn Instead. You'll be doing yourself a favor!!!
he plays favorites talks about sports and complains about how much he has to drive if you get math take him if not then dotn cause you be spending alot of time in tutoring
Biggest jerk ever! did nothing to help most of students, was even a little bit **** at times. Failed most of my class, biggest waist of time and money ever.
I would not recommend this professor. He's not a mean man, but he takes things *very* personally. He goes off on random tangents every class, where he complains about something a student did. It gets very frustrating, you spend more time listening to him complain than learning math.
Nicest teacher in the world, he is willing to help if you need it. Turn cell off when he gets there he doesn't like it. You can only have 3 absences and he actually wants his students to pass. Very helpful the day before tests and answers all of your questions.

I really loved this professor. He is not rude or boring and is a great professor. He does his best for his students to pass, especially those that show that they are trying really hard. As long as you attend class, do the homework which really helps, and ask questions if needed, you will definitely pass.

Just dont b dumb and go outside. He allows u to. Do the work. Study for tests if u need to. I got an A in the class. I recommend him for math classes.
He is a good prof when it comes to teaching and explaining. He often strays from the point & keeps complaining about his ex-students. He can be VERY mean @ times. He is harsh & too particular about little things (stapling papers, removing the edges, missing quizzes or tests). He is very mean to the student if they forget any of these things.
seems nice but be careful. just cause he's nice to you doesnt mean he likes you. he hates electronic stuff so keep them off. make sure your hw papers are clean (no fringes etc.). i understood the material but for some reason i failed every test. he's really harsh on grading too. i think he had a issue with me personally. i dressed better than him.
Professor Asatryan is a funny guy. He teaches well, but sometimes you might have a hard time understanding what he is trying to say. You need your textbook to get your work done and you need to show up to the class. He doesnt tolerate BS. Hes nice most of the time but if you get on his bad side, your screwed.
i hated math until i took his class.really funny guy.has a bit of an accent but if u pay attention you'll do just fine.takes the time 2 make sure EVERYONE understands the material.a fair grader;but really follow his classroom rules,he doesn't mess w/any kind of BS.DO NOT LET HIM SEE YOUR PHONE!!hell deduct points off of hw,tests,&quizes.GREAT GUY!
This professor was interesting. He has an accent that isn't that thick but you can still hear it when he pronounces certain words. He is picky and moody. He hates electronic devices and hates seeing them before and after class otherwise he'll dock points off. He blames students for his responsibilities. I wouldn't recommend him at all!

Alright so this professor is nice. But he is hard to understand sometime he talk some what fast. He sometime teaches different from the book. I failalmost every test my fault I didnt study. You will past the class if you study. If you have problems ask him he will help you. Make sure you have your cell phone off he HATES when they go on.
He is a really nice guy. He teaches you and makes sure u understand things and his reviews for the test are helpful because if you study them before the test its the same thing but with different number...just make sure he dont catch u using a phone!! overall i like math better because of him.

Mr. Asatryan is NOT hard. He is NOT super strict. Whoever wrote that previously probably got a bad grade or something. He is very encouraging and YES his accent may difficult to understand at times and he does stray from the topic at hand sometimes but other than than he is a great teacher. I hate math and now I'm excited to the do the work.
This man really... He could be a great Prof. but he wanders off most times. His mind goes elsewhere and he begins to complain about random stuff... Hard to understand and not worth the time... find another prof.
He is easy in the sense he will extend deadlines till the end of the class.BUT he is hard to understand by digressing so much. He is also rude and treats you stupid when you dont understand something. Awful class
He is the biggest jerk. He treats you as if you are an idiot. I have a learning disability and he laughed in my face about it. Avoid him as much as possible!
Professor cares for you, wants you to pass. remembers your name in some cases, fantastic sense of humor, wonderful professor.

Honestly one of the worst teachers I have ever had. Not only does he not teach the required material and wanders off but he constantly is complaining about everything and seems to have a stick up you know where. Can't understand what he is saying! AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

AVOID BY ALL MEANS POSSIBLE!The people giving this Professor a high grade must be joking. Very unfair, very unreasonable and if you have trouble with with accents then you can add this to the list. I remember he automatically failed a girl for talking on her phone AFTER CLASS! So again AVOID!
The most discouraging professor I've ever had. In Math 92 he seemed a lot nicer but once I was taking math 93 his attitude totally shifted. His accent is heavy and he sure as hell doesn't give a damn if you pass his class or not. I was struggling and got a zero on my quiz and he had the nerve to write "Wow!" on it I suggest you avoid this professor
Asatryan is a nice guy, but not such a great professor. I can't blame him, he is smart but won't teach. Although he seems to encourage and give advice, he ends up being very negative, wants you to know it all, but that is why we are here to learn. He makes people look stupid and embarrasses like if you were the worst. I've had such a bad experience
He's a very nice person, just attend and show some interest. lot's of homework and group work. He's so helpful, and explain everything clearly. Even if you were not passing, he we'll help you ;)
First, he encourages you. Then he makes you feel like crap but ultimately he annoys you so much that you WANT to show him you can pass. I worked my a** off to pass just to prove to him that I could after he said I couldn't. He is clear! And you can NOT BE LATE OR ABSENT. OR TALK. OR TEXT. Take this class seriously and you WILL pass.
He is negative and makes you feel like if you are stupid just for not understanding something.I failed his class because he was not helpful and took to much time talking in lectures and about other stuff.He would not give us time to do class work.I took this class again in summer and passed it with a high grade considering its a fast paced class.
Horrible teacher! At first you think you'll like him but after the first lesson you regret taking this class. He spends usually an hour on like examples and he always goes off about some nonsense in-between ever step. Makes you feel bad and his negative attitude will drain you!!!
Horrible teacher. Negativity drowns you down. Goes off topic a lot. Not easy to understand. Too much classwork. Too picky on glass bottles and drinks. He's just an angry guy and not a good teacher. STAY AWAY!!!
Great teacher, difficult subject--most of us who teake remedial math know why. He is straight out, you have to be on your best, he will not baby you as much as you think he will! Do your work and learn the material.
HELLA EASY. ok, i admit, the test are pretty hard. Do all you online homework, all you classwork(even if its not correct) and try your best on the quizzes and you'll do fine. Oh and be nice, smile, and he will give you extra points here and there. Not the best when it comes to learning but its a pretty chill class. He talks too much tho
If you plan on passing..DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He was rude/negative and not helpful at all and he inundated us with entire chapters of homework at a time. This made it easy to get behind. Luckily, he never checked classwork & reopened the online homework so I could get 100% on it. Study for the final! I passed the class with a 75% becuz of it.

He was an OK professor, he just liked to have a lot of unnecessary tangents. He can spend 15 minutes on how you shouldn't do a problem, all accented with a higher voice than normal. Tests are hard-ish and he's quite lenient with homework assignments. Good luck with his bs
Worst professor I have had at csun till this day. DO NOT TAKE HIM if you have trouble with math. He doesn't take his job seriously. If you are stuck with him, just take the little notes he gives and GO TO TUTORING. Enough said.
He just doesn't make ANY SENSE to me. Idk if anyone else feels this way but when he lectures it's just babble. And because of this I really am learning NOTHING. Oh and when he asks if you have any questions, I suggest writing it down and asking someone else because he will make you feel stupid -.- Or better, just don't take the class..
It's math... you are either good at it or you are not -CRNo CR Class -Class is structured by the Math Department not the teacher -Use workbook everyday -Groupwork -Homework check grades on XYZ -Quizzes for sections -Tests for chapters -Wants you to pass & is helpful if you ask -doesn't take BS -Has an accent -Don't use phone in class
He has some issues with using your cell phone. Don't do it. Other than that he was a great professor that is always there to help. The department makes him give so much hw but he gives you many chances to do well. Class is ok, just study, this is college you have to study. He'll help you pass with extra credit group work assignments. Study !
He's one of those teachers that will make you laugh, but you laugh because he's confusing. All throughout class i just question why I'm in there. Tutors are helpful. He makes something so simple, so confusing. He does give class work everyday so go to class, and homework is crucial. Quizzes and tests either every week or every other week.
Professor is ok, but is hamstrung by a system which only allows 20-30 minutes of actual instruction per class, mandating the remainder be ineffectual "group work" which does nothing to teach you much at all. U paid for instructor time, not tutor time or just-as-clueless-as-you co-student time. 2 chapters a day is too much this way.
Professor Asatryan is good. He is very helpful in explaining things. It is best to ask as many questions as possible and look at the material that you will learn the next day before going to class to ask him to go over certain problems for you.
If you're not the best at math then Professor Asatryan is for you. He loves his job and loves lecturing and he's very good at it. He's also a sweet and caring man. If you have issues talk to him and he will help you because he's very understanding. There's a couple opportunities to help your grade.
This class was a bit tough. Even though he had a good personality, was nice and cared for students, he lacked on teaching the material thoroughly. Most of the times he'd go off topic. He'd talk too fast and always mumbled making it difficult to understand. Great person, but not a good professor to teach this specific course.
i hated this class. he was so rude. always got out of topic. didnt care for none of his students. talked so fast couldnt understand what he was saying.
Great professor who was always available for help outside of class if needed. His tests were relevant to the lessons and weren't surprises if you showed up to lectures
avoid him if you can he is very picky about how you answer the exam and quiz. he wants to specific thing even you answered correct he marks incorrect exams are not hard but final will extremely hard. final will drop your grade.
He is a very nice guy and he gives you plenty of time to finish the assignments with many extensions but in terms of helping out for the main class math 103 he wasn't the best, he tries his best and he is very understanding.
Professor Asatryan was a good professor for Math103L. He was very caring and gave out lots of extensions for homework. He tends to go off topic when giving lectures, but for the most part he did a better job at explaining concepts than the regular professor. Id definitely recommend taking this class with him.
This professor is amazing at what he does he is passionate for teaching and helping students pass. He is funny and can talk a lot but its all good information. I really appreciate this professor for everything.
He is an amazing professor, breaks down tuff concepts & he makes jokes & keeps the overall flow entertaining. Hw is a little long but you get credit for completing it, quiz/test he made multiple choice, takin him online has been the least stressful class Ive taken, the highlight of my day. Dont be afraid to ask questions or join his office hours
Subject is tough but he answers all yours questions, join the zoom office hours. Tests are multiple choice now it's online EXCEPT the final. It dropped me from an A to a B, BUT he is generous with extra credit and his percentages for an A is like 88% so he tries his best to get you the best grade possible, so I ended up with an A after da ex credit
91B is C/NC. I can't really give a good review because I attended like 4 classes of his in total. 91B is a support class for 103, but at no point was I struggling enough to consider going back to his class, where he talked unnecessarily and went off topic all the time. However, I have to admit that he was nice enough to take late HW.
He tends to be too intimidating to ask questions, he sometimes makes you feel dumb for asking. He is a tough grader and docks points even for the smallest mistake. But if you follow along with classes and with the textbook you will be okay.
He's kind of rude when you ask him questions and makes you feel dumb for asking them. He takes off points for the smallest reasons. Sometimes tells you something and then the complete opposite the next day. Overall, he can be lenient with our schedule and he's funny, i just wish he made the classroom environment a safe place to ask questions.
If you are a person who struggles with math, or have taken a break from it. This class is definitely not for you. You would have to have a refresher course before taking this class. The reason I say this is because this professor will make you feel really dumb for asking the most basic questions.
Course is coordinated by math department so expect high test percentages that WILL tank your grade if you aren't trying your best. Prof. does his very best to aid all willing students to pass, he is kind, funny, and confusing at times. Go to his tutoring and you will 100% pass.
Nice on rare occasions, spent most of the time complaining about how the next generation of teachers are doomed. Pretty sure he even told one student to drop out. Didn't spend much time teaching material, glossed over topics, and made a fool out of anyone who dare asked a question. Class average for the final was a 50% so speaks for itself
He rambles about things that are not relevant to the class. He would rather complain about problems than give a straightforward answer. He overcomplicates simple topics and does not like to answer questions. He has clear disdain for his job and does not care if his students understand a topic before moving on to the next one. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS
AVOID. Take anyone else.
Your final will be 40% of your grade (prepared for your grade to be tanked) First six weeks he didn't really teach and he constantly switched up test and quiz dates. There was no feedback on the test or the homework. He was condescending and would get frustrated at you if you didn't get his explanation for a problem and would not explain further.
The professor himself was kind and lenient with certain assignments, but the class itself was test-heavy. Study the textbook heavily, as the book gives easier explanations for the material than the professor, and exams are strictly based off of the book rather than in-class lectures.

I retook math105 with this professor since I had previously failed it with a different one. I ended up enjoying this professors class way more than I did the last, he explained it in a way I was able to understand, although he does tend to rant randomly but it helped make the class less boring. You MUST pay good attention during lecture and study!
Since this class was uncoordinated, the classwork, exams, and quizzes were fairly easy and understandable. Although it is imperative that you take the time to study outside of class to truly grasp the class content. Overall I would recommend taking this class, as it was engaging and manageable.
