I am grateful for taking this class. The professor is outstanding, and the modules are straightforward. If you follow the book and read the chapters, you can easily earn an A.

The Couse is well structured, reading is needed but it is wroth it. You have to do the work and Professor Bartkowski gives you more than enough time to do it. I loved this class and I would take it again.

I took Sociological Theory with Professor Bartkowksi and although it was an asynchronous class, he made me wanting to be engaged with the course. He sends message reminders of when assignments are due and the assignments aren't difficult to do if you just read the assigned chapters.

I liked that we could take the course at our own pace with a few due dates. I liked that the quizzes weren't too long and that it focused on the material in the book and on other sources.

Professor Bartkowski is super chill, is very understanding and gives students enough time to complete their homework. He is a fast responder in our chat room on canvas if a student has any question regarding the course. The book is very handy while taking this course so make sure to get it or you'll be very lost and confused. Good Luck!

This is my last semester before graduating, and this course was honestly one of the best courses I've taken in my entire college career. Dr. B is super organized, understanding, and is always available should you need help with anything. This course definitely will not give you a free A, but it is extremely easy to do so if you actually try.

Professor was amazing as he has an amazing teaching style, gives you enough time to finish all assignments, and assignments are not too hard as well as tests. He grades well and I would definitely take this class again.

He's a good professor and I can tell he cares about his students. Do not expect to be able to make up any late work, he's very strict about that. I missed an entire unit and he did not let me make up any of it, but he does give a lot of extra credit opportunities.

Professor Bartkowski's class was a very informational and fun class for me. There are a lot of readings involved so get ready to read but he also has a lot of extra credits which will eventually help your grade.

The course is broken up into unit section. He lets you work at you own pace, which is greatly appreciated. But be mindful that its your responsibility to complete it before the deadline.

Thank you for the flexibility, the ease of process and oh! Thanks for the extra credit. As a senior my sociology terms are so jumbled up at this point. I desperately needed a clean and organized class like this one where the readings, the notes and attached resources actually contributed to my test scores etc, i loved it.

This is a good professor and I would take it again! Lots of work that can be done through 2 weeks. Grade is heavy on 4-5 assignments/exams so just be sure to do them

He's really nice and cares about what he teaches. He gives out weekly quizzes and either an exam or week activity for that unit. Everything is due at the end of the unit so just make sure not to procrastinate! You will need the textbook for the quizzes but reading through all the chapters is not needed.

You can really tell that this professor is super passionate about the subject he teaches and I loved that! I also liked that he sends out many (funny) and informative emails to remind us about due dates, etc. The exams are the only part I found difficult about the class but if you study and really understand the material then you should do good!

Make sure you read , pay attention to detail, don't be afraid to ask a question he will answer as quick as he can , and he does extra credit , you'll definitely enjoy him.

Dr John Bartkowski is a great professor. He makes learning fun and keeps the class frequently updated with emails and reminders of upcoming deadlines. This class was fairly easy, especially if you stay on top of your work, there is quite a bit of reading. Even if you're a procrastinator like me, the work is still pretty manageable. Only once during the semester did I need to email Dr. B , and he responded quickly and very kindly. There are also a lot of extra credit opportunities given !

You will need the book! Professor B wants you to succeed but you must do your part. Plenty of extra credit offered, quizzes are timed but short with no trick questions, and he is readily available to answer questions or concerns. He will post 4 modules at a time so you are free to work ahead or not but there are hard deadlines that he will stick to

Highly recommend. The course is not only interesting but informative. Extra credit opportunities are available, and the material is either from the book or the links provided. You will need to read if you want to pass with a grade better than a C, so I recommend getting the book and reading the chapters.

Dr. B was extremely enthusiastic about his love and detailed knowledge of all things relative to sociology. I enjoyed his motivational announcements & silly puns. He was totally clear about his grading, gave plenty of time to complete work, and plenty of extra credit. I loved the text that we used, it was well written and easy to follow.

For the online version of the class, all of the assignments for a unit were due on one day, which is nice if you like getting ahead, but not the best if you are a procrastinator, so I would just be aware of that depending on your personality.

Good professor to take as long as you do the work it's not a super easy A but if you do the basics then you will be just fine. The only thing is that the work was do at noon and not at midnight like most classes so really look closely to deadlines.

This class was easy for me to take, only because I would actually read the textbook. Everything you need is literally in the textbook. I like how he adds short little videos in each module because it makes it more personal in a way. Would definitely recommend taking this class with him.

Dr. Bartkowski is awesome! He gave us plenty of extra credit assignments with the first unit and last unit. I HIGHLY suggest doing them if you get test anxious. Taking notes for the quizzes and reaction exercises are a must. Each unit was due roughly a month apart so all assignments were due at the end. Take him if you can!

I had to take this class for extra credit so I was not so happy with this class at first because I did not think I would be interested in learning about this course, but once I started this course was so easy. He gives extra credit throughout the course. I would for sure watch the lectures and read the book. His announcements are very helpful.

Professor Bartkowski was a very kind, respectful and funny individual some of his quizzes were a little tricky but if you use your textbook provided you will find this course very easy and very interesting!

The material in the course is difficult to understand! Professor Bartkowski gives plenty of time for work to be done, as long as you don't procrastinate which makes it easier. He opens multiple assignments at once with the same due date, which I liked. Has good communication, and is a great professor. Class is hard, he tries to make it the better!

Dr. B was an awesome professor. There is a lot of reading so be ready to set aside time to read. He leaves the modules open for a while so you can get everything done in a timely manner. In the modules there are anywhere between 6 to 8 quizzes. He sends out reminders throughout the week so don't forget and they are also encouraging messages.

Professor always made things clear, precise and smooth for an online class, I've had online classes in the past where they didn't teach as much or provide enough assignments to where I felt like I learned nothing and was paying a ton to learn absolutely nothing, although that was not the case for Mr. Bartkowski.

Lots of reading, and sometimes hard reading, however Dr. Bartkowski balances the material well by providing supplemental content to go along with each chapter reading. He also cares a lot about his students; his response time and genuine weekly messages are evidence for that!

I'd definitely say Dr. B is a cut above the rest for online classes. He is much more present than other teachers which helps keep you on track with assignments. You can work ahead if you like (he opens the entirety of a unit at once) or stick to one lesson a week. In his own words, he's a straight pitcher with his tests/quizzes; no trick questions.

10/10 great professor! He releases all unit assignments at one so you have a month to do your 8 assignment (about 2 assignments each chapter). The only thing I have to complain about is the wording of his quizzes at the beginning of the course confused me because they were worded different compared to the book (makes you think about your readings)

This Professor sets course expectations upfront and gives you reminders, so you do not forget to complete work on time. He is always available to answer questions about course as well as life in general. He kept this course very interesting with his life experiences and humor. He gives you a short amount of time for the quizzes which for the first time seems stressful but to be honest it feels like a fair amount of time. I personally am not a fan of everything being due at once, but it really wasn't all bad.

Taking Professor John Bartkowski online was absolutely disheartening. I wish I took him in person, though his charisma and enthusiasm was apparent through the screen. His tests are simple if you read the texts and follow through the power points. Paying attention to the power points will help you pass! I would definitely take this class again.

I enjoyed the amount of time he allowed us in order to do his assignments. I also felt he was easy to reach and was very understanding. Some assignments I felt were a bit challenging but I think I would have done better with him in person. He did make learning as enjoyable as possible and you can tell he was really eager to share all his knowldge.

Professor Bartkowski is great! I took his SOC3353 course online and found it relatively easy to manage. It was an online course s expect to read a lot because it is basically all from the textbook or articles he assigns. But he gives you basically a month to get each Unit done, so it is all at your own pace. But he is very nice and sends announcements regularly, and you can see his personality through his comments!

Mr. Bartkowski is a great professor! I had no issue taking this course. It is a lot of coursework but he does post them in advance which gives you time to complete the work. His exams are pretty challenging but they are open book so that is a plus. His method of the three R's are really useful. He is a professor I would definitely recommend!

This professor is so kind and thorough. I'm telling you, just take his class. It's impossible to not score an A in the class. It is quiz and exam heavy, but he assigns them by units, so there is plenty of time to complete them. Don't wait until last minute. I loved this class, I feel like I learned a lot, I also liked the fact that he did not make us buy a textbook, everything was done through his very short YouTube videos, and then we would do short quizzes per week that could be done in advance since it's an online class.

Overall great communication! We have plenty of time to complete assignments leaving us stress free.

The class was very clear but no room for make-up work. I missed one assignment and was not allowed to make it up which tanked my average.

Chapter quizzes are pretty much word for word in your textbook.Reaction exercises you do need to listen or read the content to get a good grade on the test. Let's you get ahead in the class because he posts assignments a month at a time. He is passionate about what he teaches and has a sense of humor. Easy A.

Amazing professor, he understands what it is to be a college student and gives you the perfect amount of work and lecture to understand all the content of the course but also making it manageable to get done. He did a fantastic job being available and sending reminder emails for his assignments when they were due.

Every week consisted of 1 chapter + 1 review quiz & 1 article/piece of media to read + a 5 question quiz on it. easily accessible through email with any questions I had. mostly textbook work. If you can read, you can get through this class easily lol

Dr. B is very enthusiastic about sociology! Dr. B sends out reminders about assignments and does very well at encouraging his students to be engaged with the material. There are assignments given out in groups, but there is plenty of time to get them done and the book is very helpful! He gives plenty of extra credit opportunities as well!

I took Dr. John Bartkowski's class along with 2 other classes. He spaces out his assignments between 3-4 weeks and he organizes everything for you. You gotta read, a LOT, so don't slack on it. Take notes, and study for the exams. You will need it! He is a great professor & you will learn from him if you put in effort!

Seems like he assigns a lot of assignments but it will only seem like that if you wait till the last minute. The assignments are not hard at all, as long as you watch the lecture videos. He gives weekly reminders. In my opinion, the only way to fail this class is to be careless with the assignments.

I took Professor Bartkowski's online sociological theory course in the spring and I would highly recommend taking a course of his. He was communicative, personable, and made this online course much more enjoyable/engaging.

If you are simply looking for a class that helps you learn, without making work unfairly hard for a good great, than this is it. You still have to work for your grade, but I would say that it was all fair and sensible.

This online course is straight forward and only as difficult as you make it. Read, and you will have no issues with the course work.

Professor Bartkowski was amazing. The course material was straightforward and instructions were clear. I liked the course because it was self paced. Be careful tho, Bartkowski will unlock a whole module and will give you a month to complete it. But if you don't keep up, the material can get overwhelming and you could fall behind. 100% recommend!

Professor Bartkowski's course was one of my favorite this past semester. His lectures were educational and engaging. The assignments were congruent with his lectures, uncomplicated and academic.

This is a required course for many students, so it does not come with some of the "easier" facets of an elective. It's challenging in its amount of reading material, but the textbook is fairly easy to get through. Best advice: stay on schedule with the workload. Dr. Bartkowski is great, super helpful and encouraging! 10/10 recommend

Dr. Bartkowski was an excellent professor to have for my last semester. His criteria were clear, as was the course layout. As long as you watch the lecture videos and read the textbook, you will do fine on the quizzes and exams. He was very easy to access if you need to speak with him regarding the course.

He is great. Super accessible after class. Just call his phone number and he'll answer. The grading is clear. Best point system I've encountered. SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT. I literally ended with over a 100%. I love him and his class. 10/10 would recomend.

Was one of the best

I took this class online for the spring semester and it wasn't too hard. Assignments are due at the end of the unit which gives you a few weeks to get everything done. He gives plenty of extra credit that really helps boost your final grade. He was one of those professors who actually loves teaching, so that made the class more enjoyable.

Professor Bartkowski assigns chapter work and makes the modules due date at the same time a couple weeks out, which gives you time to complete all your work. There are many extra credit options available as well.

He was really easy. It was an online course, really really easy. He do not require a textbook, everything is online, you can tell he cares for his students and what he teaches.

As an online asynchronous class it was very easy to follow, there were two assignments following along with the chapter each week plus a lot of extra credit opportunities. Just one of those classes where you have to stay on top of the assignments and material and you should be good. Really great professor.

Prof Bartkowski is truly an Amazing Professor who I would definitely take again. He's very clear about all the work that is due. He will remind you of upcoming work and motivate you to complete it asap rather than later. He's one of the greatest professors I've had at UTSA. As long as you do your part, stay caught up, you will do just fine.

Professor John Bartkowski is very well organized. He provided all the resources in order to succeed in the class. The content may be difficult at times to retain but he does provide many extra credit options. The way he organizes the modules is neat and easy to understand.

Prof. B. is a great professor. Easy to talk to and very consistent with email reminders about important assignment deadlines. The class is set up to ensure all coursework for each module is due at the same time, so you can move at your own pace. So long as you keep up with the assigned readings and take note from the textbooks and you're good!

The class is fully online and structured in a good manner. 8 assignments to be finished in 2 weeks. If you keep up with it honestly the class is easy to pass with a A or B. I would've preferred this class in person yet it's only offered online but it's not a bad class at all.

For it to be online this class was planned at a respectable pace, plenty to read, a handful of assignments, tests or exams were at a reasonable length and not difficult. The professor is a great clear communicator, thorough, helpful, understanding and inspirational.

Dr. B is one of the sweetest teachers I've had. You can tell just how much effort he puts into his course work and how he really does his best to make the class run smoothly.
