His lectures are interesting. He has good examples and has good structure. His tests are kind of hard and there's a bunch to answer. He is kind of strict but a cool guy.

He gives you all the information you need to succeed, but his tests have a few tricky answers. As a multiple choice it could well be one of two answers if you don't know your stuff. No homework, which was great. Good class overall.

John was an interesting professor and is quite knowledgeable in the field of marketing. I do agree with the other students that he is not too helpful, but he can be humorous during class discussions, which lightens up the class atmosphere. The exams are tricky but if you take all of the quizzes, you should be fine. I had a crush on him though :)

The class was great. Students should follow his study guides for the tests and notes and they will do well. He starts off kind of quite, but he warms up to the class. He is not to approachable about things.

Such an awesome teacher! I've had him for MGMT 222 and 322. He's smart, fun, loves relating to his students, and makes class interesting. Tests aren't that difficult as long as you read the material, take notes, and go over the detailed reviews he provides. I strongly recommend him for any subject he'll ever teach. The projects aren't hard either.

This was a good class. I got a lot out of it. I personally like the reviews. How could you not like the reviews? Anything to get a better grade. The end project was fun presenting. It helps with getting over the fear of public speaking! Awesome class.

Great class! The instructor is very clear and gives great notes with real world examples. I learned so much about marketing. I am a current MBA student now and in another marketing class which I am more than prepared for.

Benavidez is by far one of my favorite professors! He makes class super interesting. Although the reviews for tests can be long, you can definately pass the exams no problem as long as you go to class. He comes off arrogant but when you get to know him he really isn't.

Benavidez is my favorite professor at Anderson. He needs to be teaching more of the upper level marketing classes as well. No, his class is NOT easy but if you apply the knowledge and put in the work to study, you will gain a lot, and have no trouble passing the class. Plus have a lot of fun along the way...

He is knowledgeable of his stuff. He has his own business in marketing which he refers to with examples. He is organized and gives you good information regarding the topic. He is also approachable but a bit cocky.

He was a great teacher! He teaches exactly what you need to know for the tests. Going to class really helps- I never even used the book because of this. He gives great examples for applying ideas to everyday life. I definitely recommend him!

Benavidez is a wonderful teacher. He has tons of experience to share with his students and will willingly share his knowledge. He is diligent in making sure his students are grasping concepts and material. I also took 487 and 490 with him and would recommend him highly to any marketing student, he teaches you what you need to be a great marketer!

I've had Benavidez for 322 in the past, and now 487. Both times he was an awesome teacher. He is much more friendly and student invested when you take him for an upper level class. You'll really get to know him, easily get help, learn a ton and generally have fun. I highly recommend him and his classes!

This instructor is an average instructor. Nothing amazing about him pops out - solid but average. A regular "death by power point" class which are abundant at the University of New Mexico. He is helpful - yeah. He walks the class during tests like a prison guard but if you have to cheat in his class, you should not be in college. No "electronics."

Very interesting class! Test is HARD! Don't just memorize the terms, know them and learn how to apply them in real world situation. He didn't allow electronic before, but he changed his mind because of teachers evaluation.

I took him for 322 and now for 487. He is a marketing expert, and if you are a marketing major I highly recommend taking at least on of his classes. The tests in 322 are relatively difficult, but if you attend class and study, you'll truly understand the info and not just memorize it. His 487 class is completely different and is just project-based.

He is pretty cool. Just study the night before tests and you'll do well.

This class is so interesting and mkt is not my major. You have to attend his lectures and take notes because most of the info on test is from lecture and not book. His tests are hard but not impossible. No projects, just tests and weekly quiz online. He uses great examples and engages the class in lecture. Highly recommend his class

John is a great teacher! He makes his lectures really interesting and fun and you end up learning a lot of valuable information without even realizing it. I loved his class. Definitely sparked my interest in marketing. I highly recommend this class. READ the book, it helps a lot on the tests.

This was a tough class. Not an easy A. I did not find myself using the book that much as his tests are derived from lectures. Pay attention, take good notes, and attend class and you should be fine.

Instructor was very clear and concise. did not use book much and all tests were based on lectures. death by powerpoint but he kept it interesting. Several questions on test come from inclass examples not on powerpoints and gives points for attendance. Overall not bad but take good notes and show for class.

Real world like campaign management. Choose a client with communication skills. He often has some potential clients prepared. Take with someone you know. Unique class format, highly recommend.

Benavidez is a truly exceptional professor. He is hands down, the best professor at Anderson. I've learned so much from his classes! He cares about his students, gives excellent class examples, and has a vested interest in his students' success. Everyone should take a class with him before graduation, you will learn SO much & he is a great person.

This Instructor is awesome! He makes te class fun and actually makes you want to go to class. There is 3 exams and 1 final. He drops lowest score. Everything on exams comes from the lectues in class. Didnt really use the book much. Take good notes and you should be fine.

Benavidez is a cool guy and funny too. The class is comprised of lectures, 3 exams, and 8 online quizzes. Make sure to use his study guides for the exams, they cover about 85% of what's on the exam. Only required 3 tests so you can drop the final (only if you did good on the first 3).

He is an awesome professor! Keeps class interesting. Reading the book to supplement his lectures will help you out on the exams. Highly recommend him as a professor! Benavidez rocks!

People say that Benavidez 322 is hard, but it is really not hard at all. Three exams and there is an optional final. If you go to class, take notes, and skim the book you if you want to do well. If that sounds too "hard" for you then take another professor. Great class, great professor!

Benavidez is an awesome teacher! The lectures are fun and interesting and if you don't go to class then it will really hurt you on the exams (obviously). Used the textbook to supplement the lectures but most of the info comes from class anyways. If you take good notes and study you will be fine. Highly recommended!

Professor Benavidez is amazing. I have had him for MGMT 322 and MGMT 490 and will be taking MGMT 487 with him in the fall. MGMT 322 is an easy B as long as you have good attendance and pay attention to lectures. This professor is one of the main reasons that I chose marketing as my concentration. Highly recommend.

Don't mess around, go to class, make notecards for your test. If you don't have time in your schedule to study extensively for your exams, don't take him. If you want to get a real-life sense of marketing and want a funny teacher, definitely take 322 with him. Just don't take the class for an easy A. It's going to take some effort.

This class is an amazing one to take if you are a marketing major. I have learned real world promotion experience that I will be able to put on my resume. His classes are very interactive as far as marketing stuff. You will be having group projects. If you are an Anderson student, that should be no surprise. Great teacher! Third time taking him.

I enjoyed the class but not the required online book. He puts an extra effort to make the class more interesting.

The class was interesting even for non-marketing majors. Uses humor and real life examples in lecture. Exams were tough but not bad if you paid attention in class and studied the study guide the night before. Weekly quiz online with several attempts but no homework or projects. Would take again.

Benavidez is THE BEST professor at Anderson. Hands down. He is passionate about what he does and he creates great learning environments for his students. Take any and all of his classes, you can easily get an A because you learn things in new and interesting ways.

I don't understand why so many students dislike Benavidez. His class is not very hard. You have more than enough attempts to the online quizzes to get a 910 or 1010. His lectures are interesting and fun to attend. Sure his exams are challenging, but if you actually study from the study guide he provides and save your quizzes you will be fine!

Funny he goes through these to see what we say. He's clear cut from the beginning what it takes. Tests aren't a breeze but he gives everything on the test in his study guide-just do it and you'll do fine. Going through slides someday got boring but some stories he tells are funny. Do the extra credit assignment it takes some time but 20 points easy

Benavidez is the best professor at Anderson. I am not a marketing major, but I still found this class interesting and enjoyed listening to his lectures. He lays out very clear expectations from the beginning so you know what you expect. Do the study guide and you will easily get an A.

I don't understand the poor reviews. Lectures are entertaining, tests are graded hard, but he drops one of the scores and gives review sheets telling you exactly what is going to be on them well in advance. You have way more than enough attempts at quizzes and he gives an extra credit assignment that can really help your grade. Enjoyed the class.

I truly enjoyed attending this class! I always looked forward to attending the lectures as I learned something new every class. Benavidez is also hilarious in his lectures, so that keeps it interesting. The material can be dull but he makes it fun. I earned an A but I did the study guide!

Professor Benavidez tries to keep the class as entertaining as possible, given the boring subject. He is funny and keeps the whole class laughing, making you actually want to attend. he gives reviews for tests, so just study that and you'll be good for the tests.

Mr. Benavidez is the best Professor at UNM... He makes class enjoyable and fun, gets students involved in lectures. Lectures pretty much every class, however makes it extremely fun. First class i've taken at UNM and enjoyed going to class, attendance is mandatory. 4 Test, Weekly Quiz's, 1 MidTerm, 1 Optional Final if okay with current grade.

Benavidez is the chill professor you want to take just because its easy. His lectures are great, only a weekly quiz and everything you need for the tests are posted on Learn. Definitely recommend!

He is an amazing professor. He is a 35 year old man, with a 21 year old personality. He is hilarious, and creates a fun atmosphere. He WILL drop you if you don't show up 3 times. Exams are easy if you study, and show up. Quizzes are difficult but are helpful in exams. By far one of the best professors at Anderson.

YO BENAVIDEZ IS THE MAN. His lectures are so interesting I don't even check my phone once. Only a weekly quiz and exams. The exams have study guides and as long as you do those, you're solid for an A. He's so funny and I bet the class will have inside jokes with him by the end. But he's also very respected by everyone. Cool cool coooooool guy

Professor John Benavidez makes the class fun and interesting by showing us real-life examples about the topics we learn. His test reviews sheets are very helpful, take his class if you need mgmt 322.

You have three exams and weekly quizzes. Easy grading criteria and some extra credit. His review sheets are a gem, but he told us he wasn't going to give us one for the last exam bc a lot of people were not showing up for the lectures. At the end he gave it to us, but decided to give the extended responses topic questions to only those that went.

John is one of the best professors I've had at UNM. He is very funny and relates to his students. He passes around an attendance sheet every class period. We have a quiz roughly every week and 4 exams. The only grades in the class are the quizzes, exams, and attendance. Study guides are concise and simple.

Good professor. What he says will be on the test will be on the test so study for it. He gives multiple chances for the quizzes. He drops two quizzes at the end of the semester. He does not usually offer extra credit. However, he does have favorite students and will probably not remember your name if you are not one of them.

Benevidez is a great choice at Anderson. Great lecturer, by far my favorite class this semester. Theres 3 exams which he gives a study guide for so be sure to use it since the exam follows it closely. If you have more than 4 absences he auto drops you so be sure to attend!

Essentially a vocab class. Use the study guide, test is modeled exactly after it. Easy A if you memorize the vocab. Benavidez is a nice guy, and sticks to the syllabus exactly. 4 tests, drops the lowest, and 12 quizzes (from home), drops 3. He will drop you if you miss more than 4 classes, or miss the first day, so make sure you show up!

Although it is not mandatory to attend lecture, I highly recommend it, Professor Benavidez will give hints for what to expect on the exams. There are weekly quizzes, which allow multiple attempts, and three exams. He supplies study guides for the exams if you use these to study you will do fine. Very passionate and knowledgeable about marketing.

With online classes you want to start looking at assignments early. Lots of reading material but the Ch notes & powerpoints make it easy. The case studies were not my favorite but you gain an understanding for real world scenarios. Quizzes are taken thru a 'Lock' portal so you cannot have other windows open. Two attempts tho!

I took this as an intersession course and yes it was very long but he made the lectures really interesting and he is extremely funny. I wish I would've taken him for the full semester because I enjoyed this class so much.

Definitely one of the most fun Anderson classes you will take. Prof Benavidez is awesome, and he will teach you insanely useful skills in this class. Other than a few weekly quizzes, this class is light on the homework load. Projects are actually fun, so they don't really feel like work. If you get the chance to take this class, take it.

Due to COVID, there were some hiccups with the online text, but Benavidez handled everything like champ. He had to drop the case studies, but everything else was fine. A discussion post/response every other week, and some weekly assignments for every chapter. NO LATE WORK, but you have an entire week to do things so shouldn't be an issue lol.

Benavidez is an amazing professor. Very knowledgeable and experienced in marketing plus great lectures. There is a decent amount of hw but it's manageable. It's also obvious he cares about his students and how we are doing in the class. Always listening to feedback and adjusting the class just right for his students. Great prof.

If your ears arent bleeding after him talking about his social media presence and his marathons. Youll wanna claw your eyes out after seeing his massive hard on for Dions, Apple, and Nike. Dont get him started on chute fitness lol. All jokes aside, he is a good professor and teaches an interesting class.

A top-choice elective for anyone pursuing a marketing concentration. You receive valuable experience in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere, along with becoming certified in Hootsuite social media management and a HubSpot social media strategy course. It is key to show up to class, complete the discussions (participation grade), and turn in on time.

Awesome professor! Attendance isn't mandatory but it is highly recommended because he gives out test questions during his lectures so either go or make a friend who goes to class. Do the test review and you will pass the exams and a big plus is that the only homework you have are weekly quizzes and 4 exams.

This class was pretty easy but the only thing is you have to keep up there were no late assignments, so if you miss one then he won't grade it so I suggest keeping up and do homework assignments before the due date. But was easy.

Amazing professor! You do not need to attend every class, but he gives out required exam questions/problems during some classes so I recommend going to most. As long as you study hard for exams, do the weekly quizzes, go to your marketing research sessions, and attend documentary days (2), you will succeed!

Some of the most interesting lectures I've ever been to. He's very knowledgable about the marketing field and is an engaging speaker. He doesn't take late work whatsoever, so make sure you don't fall behind on the weekly quizzes. Otherwise you'll enjoy this class

Attendance isn't mandatory, but I recommend always going to class because everything in the slides is included in the exam and he doesn't post them on canvas. Their are only 3 exams and it's topics we have already covered. It's important to read the textbook because many answers from the exams are their.

I did not need this class but had a fun time doing well in it anyway. The professor is great, super knowledgeable, and old-school. Show up to lecture and it's almost free. Some info only given during lecture, "this is not in your book" type thing. I would recommend to anyone who isnt business major but wants a cool class to take.

The lectures are engaging and informative. Attend most classes as the professor gives out exam questions during them. Use unstuck ai alongside the textbook and marketing sessions to ace the weekly quizzes and exams.

John is a great person overall ! he makes it clear that attendance is mandatory and his teaching style is actually pretty straight forward for the marketing content we are looking at. He is pretty funny and engaging with the students his class is easy if you study his notices and pay attention. Overall hes a 8/10 he really cares
