He is not as hard as he seems at first. Gives short ppers to write and tests are easy if you attend class and take good notes.

a little boring, but easy if you come to class

He is easy but work intensive and boring. He gives the questions for his tests in advance and gives the students what a "good" ansnwer should have routine. He is hard to stay awake to but worth taking once. Grade Recived: A-

One of the most intellegent professor on campus. If you are looking to continue your studies in Political Science, he will definitely give you an idea on how ms classes are.

Most gripes from those who could care less about pol sci or any world events beyond Brittney & crew. He is desperately trying to reach students in letting them know why the country is going down the toilet.Fair grader, tries to get you involved Clear on work. Four 2 pg papers,not exactly a nosebleed

He is a very nice guy. i am completely uninterested in politics or political science for that matter but this class was somewhat interesting and easy overall. it started out seeming hard, but i ended up doing well. only recommend to fulfill LASAR or if interested in polysci.

He is a great teacher, explains things until you understand it, likes to interact with students and really knows his subject matter. The only reason people may find him boring is because of his speech pattern, but if you can get past that you will really enjoy his class.

I took him for 102...He is a nice guy, and if you just show interest in what you're doing and give good insights/show him that you are following along with work, he will like you and give you a good grade. Ppl criticize his speech pattern...yea he might talk a bit more, but ud have to be an idiot to not understand his main point. Overall: he's fine

Excellent teacher! The mid-term and final are not hard. To get a good grade all that you have to do is actually read and pay attention to the lectures and you should do fine.

Excellent teacher - He is big on critical thinking. My writing skills have greatly improved since taking his classes.

He's really not a bad teacher, and you don't need to do the reading he assigns before you come to class. If you're a good writer, you'll be totally fine. He does expect a lot of essays, so if you don't like writing so much, you should probably stay away from this class. He's pretty laid back. As of now,I have an A in the class

You don't HAVE to do the reading but this class with go much easier for you if you do. Attendance is important or else you'll miss alot. The tests are easy if you've done the reading and gone to classes. He's willing to meet with you outside of class if you need help. Highly recommended if you like polisci and if you don't mind doing all the work.

Too much writing for a 101 class.

He is very monotone (which makes the class boring) & clear with wat hes talking about. Just buy the course packet (dont really need the textbook), skim the readings b/c if you goto class he goes over it anyways, and write the 1-2 pg assignments for the readings. He gives 4 throught out the whole course. Would def. take him again, just goto class!

He's the type of guy to make random jokes and he wants people to participate. He goes over everything that will be on tests in class so if you read your notes, you're good. Hand in papers on time and think them out. He's extremely fair and if you ever need anything he always stays a while after class

He does have a monotone voice but his notes are clear, he focuses mostly on the course packet & u have to do 3 papers on the book. It should b marked as writing intensive cus the midterm/final had one essay so make sure u come to class & know/understand the notes. Overall he wasn't bad at all, i would take him again if only it helped my major..lol

THE CLASS STARTS OFF BORING, BUT IT GETS INTERESTING MID WAY THROUGH. THE READINGS ARE LONG AND YOU DONT HAVE TO DO THE READINGS TO PASS THE TESTS. PAPERS ARE EASY GRADES AND TEST ARE EASY IF YOU PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS. NOT GREAT BUT NOT AWEFUL

The professor gives intersting topic in this class, but there are detailed information from the extra packet. (28$)

Bowman is awesome! All these people just don't understand that this is college not highschool and you need to put in some effort. He's a fair grader. He loves participation and tends to remember you if you do. He's nice and cracks jokes occassionally. DONT LISTEN TO THESE BAD COMMENTS.

the class was easy there are no surprises his lectures corespond directly to the exams

I graduated in 2003. Looking back his classes were the most intellectually stimulating I had in Political Science. Definitely challenging classes but highly recommend if you're looking to get a deeper understanding of Political Science.

Prof Bowman's lectures are SO BORING. He is also really specific with wording. Safest bet on exam is to write what he says in lecture word for word.

Wonderful professor. Start off on his good side, take notes whenever he mentions terminology, make yourself known in class, and you should be fine.

Such an informative professor. His lectures do drag on a bit, but they provide great additional info for the required readings. He loves questions and is a very fair professor.

Very good lectures. Pleasure to be in his class. 2 exams and 3 two page papers. Makes you think about democracy and politics. Very passionate about what he teaches. Take him, you wont regret it.

Judges fairly and is very willing to work with you. Just go to his office during his hours and he will tell you what you need to do to succeed

I know that everyone here is saying that he's the worst but, honestly, he's a really nice guy. If you don't understand something in lecture or you missed something, he's really good with helping outside of the classroom. Does he talk almost non-stop during lecture? Yes. Does it sometimes get boring? Hell yes. But it's not as hard as people say.

Pro: The material he teaches is very interesting and good to know. The readings he gives are very easy to comprehend (the length of the readings vary). Final is not cumulative Con: Very boring and long lectures. If you want to get a good grade you need to participate. randomly calls on you if you don't participate. No multiple choice on exams.

You won't regret taking his class. All you will learn is priceless. He takes time to make sure everybody understands. Many ways of increasing your grade, assignments, reading response, participation and tests. All are different options to improve your grade. He listens your needs, he is great i loved this class.

Amazing Professor!!! Wants to make sure that his students understand and stops in the middle to answer any and all questions. Really passionate and well-educated about PSCI. If you intend to major or minor in PSCI or want an easy (B, B+, A-,A,A+) then this the professor to take.

Professor Bowman is really boring but knowledgable on Political Science. He is more lecture-based but does make the students participate every now and then. A lot of essays, and tests in this class but if you pay attention you should be able to get that b+ at least.

Professor Bowman clearly cares about his students and values an exceptional work ethic. He begins every semester with the same speech about work ethic, and being accessible during office hours. If you are a polisci major that respects knowledgeable mentors then you will like him. It's easy to be bored in lecture but if you do the work he willnotice

Professor Bowman, is eloquent and extremely knowledgeable. He is understanding and truly caring about his students, and does everything he can to help his students learn and understand the concepts he teaches. He is a great person and I am very happy I took this class with him, I am going to enroll in the other classes he teaches. Amazing teacher.

An amazing guy! Class is not an easy A but definitely not difficult. There are weekly readings, discussion posts & quizzes, but everything is interesting & straight from his lectures. He records his lectures & posts slides so you can always look back at them. He gives you a group number so you know which day you are to be called on. Learned a lot

Interesting lectures, 6-8 quizzes based on lectures discuusison- pretty easy if you pay attention in lectures. 2 writing assignments and one final exam.

I took his class online. He gives a weekly quiz and discussion post. The quizzes are a one paragraph response to something that was discussed in class. I always rewatched the lecture for the answer. No mid term, but a final. Two reading response papers (2 to 3 pages). Very straight forward and he's genuinely a nice guy.
