John was a great teacher.Textbook was great and easy to follow. His lectures were really clear and organized. If you maintained a good attendance then you would be able to pass all the tests. The group project, for me, I hated it and it didn't even work out. He uses video clips that really help to clarify what he's lecturing.

I enjoyed this class. Mr Byran made all of the information very learner friendly! I appreciated how much he interacted with the class considering it was a 3 hour class. Lectures were interesting. The bad news: you have to make sure you show up to class. The good news: Every meeting is new, interesting, and engaging. His tests are difficult even if you study and take notes, but there are credits to earn each class time, which can boost your grade. Its mostly in class work, but its not dry or hard. Its different, its unexpected, and exciting.

If you miss a lot of classes, you're totally screwed on the test because about a third of the questions are from his lecture notes (the rest are from the textbook) Usually 3 hour classes are hard to sit through but we have breaks and we watch videos/do activities so it's not all just notes.

This was a fun class with a teacher who really knew how to teach the material. He uses a lot of video and sound clips along with his lectures that were really useful. You know those professors that actually manage to get you INTERESTED in the class? This is one of them. I thought I was going to hate this class and instead I found myself enjoying it and examining my own ideas with more clarity. He was entertaining and engaging, and managed to keep us all awake despite the class going till 10pm. Two thumbs up!

Sleeping through class is not an option. Questions requiring thoughtful answers are asked throughout class and turned in at the end. It can be difficult to stay politically correct and still respond honestly to discussions. I dreaded having to take this class, but have since found it enlightening.

This has been the best professor I have had yet. He really interacts with the class and makes you feel comfortable. He never tests you on something he didn't go over. He is very clear on what he expects from the class. There are only three major assignments. The experiment was the toughest, but not if you are clear on what a random sample is.

Very informative, makes sure everyone understands, definitely gets your brain thinking and moving, and he is there for you with any questions and welcomes any questions. Also a great sense of humor. I would definitely recommend him.

Great class if you are seeking to take a psychology course, take gender psychology with Professor John Bryan. He is such an awesome instructor I would definitely recommend him. He is very helpful and gives interesting examples during each one of his lectures, which makes them easy to follow. Overall the class was very interesting.

Attendance is mandatory. He is a pretty easy grader; you just have to put in some effort. He will work with you if there is a problem with attendance or with any questions you have. TAKE HIM =)

best class ever! you really learn a lot, and can relate he material to you every day life. attendance points matter for once a week class( every class=30 points) fairly easy quizes. if you read the book you'll do fine. simple partner experiment and great class lectures/discussions. TAKE THIS CLASS! So worth the time and effort:)

I really enjoyed taking John Bryan's class. It was very helpful and he informed us of great information and outstanding studies. He made the class fun and always had a positive, upbeat attitude, and threw in jokes. He made everyone feel comfortable and able to share personal information. I highly recommend taking this class!

Awesome! jon is always looking for ways to improve but thats tough cuz he's already top notch. class was super easy.textbooks are a must because he lets u use in on the tests so i suggest to purchase one! if u have the book and take a lot of notes during lectures you'll get an A. light homework. enjoyable discussions. definitely not a bore.

I really liked taking this class. You need to have the text book for test and make sure to review notes. Attendance is mandatory but the class flies by so its worth it. I enjoyed the short clips involved in the lectures.

John was a fun teacher. Had good lectures and a good sense of humor. A little vague on the assignments, but as long as you show up and pay attention you should do well. Enjoyable class, I recommend :)

Mr. Bryan is an AMAZING professor! I really enjoyed his class. He makes class really fun and although the whole class is a lecture, it's power point and lots of discussions with classmates. There's 3 exams, a project, and 1 2-page paper due for the entire semester. Attendance is MANDATORY, but the class goes by fast. I would highly recommend him!

Wonderful teacher! All of his exams pull questions straight from lectures and the chapters required to read. Its very important to get the book, it will help you with the tests greatly. Also as a tip if you take this course, do NOT go to the mall for your group project. It has to be random, not convenient. Best teacher at MSJC yet.

He teaches with very interesting media like films.In addition,Bryan is a great man with a kind heart, but he will make you earn your grade. There is very little homework and the assignments are interesting. Take him and you will never regret your time and have fun laughing;If I could afford It you would be my therapist with all respect.

attendance in this class is imperative as it will affect your grade. Even if you get fantastic grades on all your tests, if you miss a class, you'll notice your grade drop. Conversely, attendance can help your grade if you don't do well on the tests. Instructor has a very witty/great sense of humor so it makes for an interesting class time.

Fun class, wonderful teacher, tough exams (if you do not read the text)! Reading is critical. Attendance is crucial! Mr. Bryan makes class interesting, lecture is given on power point with a lot of class envolvement and activities. Assignments are fun and you will learn a lot about yourself as a person. Great Prof. Attendance is key to the class due to the large amount of in class activities. Very interactive class. Exams are based on textbook NOT lecture, so reading is essential. 3 tests, 2 projects, 1 paper. Doesn't give too many guidelines but is an easy grader! overall great class!!

Great teacher! The discussions in class are easy to understand and the class is fun. Exams are tough if you don't do the reading or attend the classes. Lectures are fun and the class is always involved in discussions which makes the topics easier to understand and fun!

He's a great teacher and i would recommend him to anyone who is searching for a psych class. Attendance is weighed heavily, I learned that the hard way. Show up to class and be sure to read to book and the class is much easier. He's very direct and clear in his teaching. I feel that i would improve his teaching if he loosened up at times.

I liked this class, great instructor, very interesting information I didn't get bored. Enjoyed the variety of media, films, powerpoints and the partner interacts it kept me awake.

Overall: GOOD CLASS. The teacher was good; all test material was covered in lectures and in the book. He did a good job of including the class and making it interesting. Teacher catered to all visual, audio & “by-doing” needs. ONLY changes I would make are the final project (didn’t relate to Psych of Gender) & to be informed of grades more often.

The class is really entertaining there is a bit of reading that you have to do otherwise you wont be able to get on A. If you read the chapters youll be ok. Assignments are not many but take time. I would recommend his class to anyone.

Not your typical lecture/midtern lecture/final instructor. The class is very hands on type of learning. The tests were pretty hard, but I personally didn't have a textbook. The one thing I liked about the class was the lectures were interesting enough to not fall asleep to.

Great instructor and is very helpful. Only thing attendance is a must but every class period is interesting and he makes time fly. Use of textbook and reading is also important not much homework. Overall easy class if u pay attention and are interesting in the class course. But I would defiantly recommend anybody to take him great instructor!

I really like this class. The teacher is really helpful and is easy to understand. You have to show up to class if you miss too many days you can be dropped or your grade will be. But it's a fun class and it's cool to hear what other people have to say

Awesome teacher, he's actually a therapist so he's really good with talking and keeping the class interesting. The tests are kinda hard but not if you read the text book, sometimes he even lets you use the book on a test. Great subject matter. Lots of points in class participation so you need to show up!

This is a great teacher and a wonderful class. His lectures are high quality and he is great at capturing you attention. You do have to read the book and study your notes in order to pass the tests.

This class is a very informative class. Professor Bryan is lively and presents the material in many media forms. He is easy to understand and can relate the information to everyday experiences to help students actually get the material. The book was dry and felt baised in some respects, but other than that was very well put together.

This was one of my favorite classes this semester. The teacher is great and does a great job at explaining all the material. A lot of points come from attending class by doing the in class activities, some quizzes and answering questions from the lectures. Go to class, take good notes, read the textbook for exams and you'll get an A in the class.

PSYC 104 with Professor John Bryan is a course you don’t want to miss, rather you need it or not. Professor Bryan is a great instructor. The information learned in his class is up-to-date and useful. If you are looking for a full on lecture class, this is not it. Don’t worry about taking this class at night you won’t fall asleep. Fun learning

Psyc 104 with Mr. Bryan was awesome class something I did not expect when I read the course information the day I registered for my classes. Professor Bryan made the class very interesting and entertaining with his funny presentations as well as his entertaining explanations and activities.

Loved the class! Keep in mind that attendance is extremely important. The tests are okay, but as long as you show up to class every time and participate, you will do just fine! The teacher keeps the class fun and entertaining. I was excited about going to class every Wednesday night! I definitely recommend taking Mr. Bryan for gender psych ;)

John is an excellent teacher. He was extremely sensitive when it came to touchy sexual subjects; material was clear; he was funny which kept the class interesting and he is, and admits he is, an easy grader as long as you do the work asked of you. I would recommend his class to everyone interested in psych, or not. Show up and youll do great!

John was a great teacher! He is very engaging and it is easy to become quite interested in what he is teaching. The tests can be difficult, but the most important thing is to show up to class and pay attention. He makes it fun with lots of video clips and sound bytes, so it's not hard to do! :) Would definitely recommend taking this class.

I had no idea what i signed up for but i went to class everyday cuz it was very interesting and good information on gendered lives. I learned a lots of things it and professor John asked a lots of good questions in class that made you think the questions were not easy to answer at times. i would definitely highly recommend this professor. He makes sure to include all students, so if there is a discussion, you will more than likely be a part of it.

I really enjoyed this class.The material was interesting and helpful!I learned a lot from this class the lectured in a way that you can actually relate to the topic, which encourages the students to participate and have better attendance. Also, as long as you keep up with your work you'll pass the class.

Mr. Bryan's class was interesting; I already love psychology, and it was interesting learning about the differences that lead to people of a certain gender acting the way they do. We got to do in class activities every day which was fun and really helped cement the material we learned. The textbook for this class was well written and interesting.

I'm majoring in social and behavioral studies so I already love psychology but he kept the class entertaing and keeps the students engaged. By far my favorite class here at MSJC. I learned a lot and had a great time learning which is rare quality for a teacher to have. Anyone interested in psychology should definitely take this class.

This class is very student oriented. Many discussions between peers which keeps the class fun and interactive. Mr. Bryan seems to be extremely knowledgeable about the subject and gives current up-to-date information that is entertaining and informative to watch.
