Very easy. Don't bother buying his books, just study your notes. But he do tell alot of stories, you can take it b/c you'll have at least a 3.0!!!

Very entertaining stories! If you show up and take notes, you should have no problem with this class! If you study, you can 4.0 easily!

Awesome. I cannot say enough good things about Mr.Burks. He is the best History teacher I have ever had. he tells great stories. You have to have him tell you about his Charles Manson encounter! He is great!

Great, Great, Great! Best history instructor I have ever had. He is easy, but you learn a lot. Best yet, you actually remember what you learn...isn't that the idea? Take him...you won't want to miss his class.

This teacher is GREAT! I would so recommend taking his classes. He definatly makes learning fun and interesting. His stories will make you laugh adn ease the tension of the class.

Interesting, yet have to wonder if maybe he is a compulsive liar to make the class more entertaining. Or fudges the truth a little. Anyway, I recommend him just for his imagination.

This teacher is absolutly crazy. He will start off on the lecture then wonder off to a story of his, they are entertaining, yet he tells to many in one day, and by the time you are back on topic you are lost. Tests are very easy as are assignments. Just look out for his colorful stories.

Mr.Burks is one of the GREATEST teachers that I've ever had and will take him again in a heartbeat. It is teachers like Mr.Burks that make not only history intresting but school in general. I reccommend him to everybody.

This is my sencond semester with him, Buy his book it is GREAT. His class if fair if you pay attention, study alit ansd read the assingements, torn in your papers on time there is no reason you can't get an "A'

Really entertaining! Tells tons of funny stories; I wonder if they are true. Passes around lots of historical pictures & artifacts. Puts funny questions on the tests sometimes for a little comic relief. He really knows how to make history fun & easy.

Mr. Burks is the only teacher I have ever had for history, that made you want to come back for more. He teaches history that you didn't even know about. He is a must take for any student.

I was nervous about taking a US History class, but man was he a blast. If you are at all intimidated by history, take him. Even though I have no real interest in history, his class was easy to get into. No reason you can't get an A.

A great teacher, Hands down the best professor at Mott. Makes history fun, and knows his stuff unlike many proessfors at mott.

Burks was awesome. I hate history, and was dreading taking any more classes, but it really surprised me how much the man could teach and how much of that I would pay attention to. He tells awesome stories, and his first book just came out, too. I can read that and fight my withdraw.

Mr. Burks rocks. He is one of the best professors I have had. He is interesting and funny but in the meantime something happens. You learn! I already have a Bachelors Degree and am taking some additional classes. I have to say Mr. Burks is my favorite professor ever.

His classes are fun because he has lots of interesting stories. Test are pretty easy ..all multiple choice and he graded the 3 papers we had to write very lienently. He's a great guy!

He is a great teacher because he makes sure to keep you listining. He made history fun. His class isn't easy, but you will learn and enjoy it. I am taking him agian next semester.

He was a very great guy and told many stories. I actually looked forward going to his class in the afternoon to have some fun. He wouldn't just completely lecture in a boring way, he made it interesting and I learned a lot. Definitely have to study on tests.

Very funny, and Interesting teacher. He has many stories...sometimes they don't even have to do with what we are learning, but he takes the stress off of learning everything that he talks about. He's a great teacher for people who stress out over history!

Absolutely the best teacher I have ever had! I have learned to love history and am inspired to learn more. I cannot believe Mr.Burks is not a full time teacher at this school. Mr. Burks is not only extremely knowledgable and intelligent but also is able to convey his knowledge to others just as well. You will not regret taking one of his courses

Great professor. Never have hw except for 3 one page papers that take about 5 minutes to do. The test are directly from lecture and are easy. He is extremely funny and smart. His stories about his life make the class worth the money and time. You'll love him and his dry sence of humor. I've had him 3 times now

I love this professor!. Hands down the best professor I have ever had! I always looked forward to going to class. I just wish I could take more classes with him. I wouldn't buy the book though, he just tests on what he said in class, so you should always go to class.

I have had Mr. Burks three times now and he his hands down the best teacher I have ever had. He knows so much about history and just listening to his life stories is worth the money. He needs to be a full time teacher no doubt.

I had mediocre interest coming into the semester, but this guy keeps your attention, and manages to turn a pretty bland subject into something worth paying attention to. Brilliant teacher. His random stories may seem out of place, but they provide some much-needed humor in a usually boring subject. He's led a very interesting life, and he's a very smart and funny man. Just open your ears and listen to him. As Burks said one time, "All the greatest teachers in history told stories." I believe that of him. Take him!

Fun class, but requires attendence and good note taking. Not very hard but not showing up will fail you. Test requires studying!

He is funny and will keep you entertained if you dont like history. he has many stories that he tells every class to make it fun. tests are kind of tough but if you show up and do the papers (which arent bad) you will get atleast a B. OMG, you people are crazy this man makes learning about history fun. Would you rather sit in a class w/no stories or w/stories. I would highly suggest taking his class's.. Iam taking his 2nd class & Iam excited. He teaches fast but teaches it well..He is my favorite teacher & if mott had more teachers like him kids wouldnt fail.. He's awesome...

Burks is a pretty cool guy. He has a dry sense of humor, which I found to be funny. He keeps history interesting, especially with his stories. The class itself isn't completely hard, it just takes good notes and a keen attention span. Pay attention to the lectures and don't take bad notes - the stuff on the tests is not from the book.

Lots of stories that make long lectures more interesting. Tests are hard. Passionate about what he teaches. I do wish his notes were organized differently, making it easier to follow. Good professor; would recommend!

Mr. Burks class hands down is a great class. If you are inspiring to be a teacher this is the class you would model your style after. People who have bad comments on Mr. Burks have little to no sense of humor and apparently don't take notes at all.

I love Mr. Burks! He is a great teacher with a love for his profession. Yes, he does goes off topic which can get a little stressfull when you are trying to learn what is on the test. His grading style is very nice, he likes to give good grades, if you get a bad grade in his class is because you didn't show up.

I loved this class! He was very entertaining and gives you every tool he can to help you succeed. He gave out printed lists of things to study, and most is word for word on the tests. I loved this class and I'm not a history person!

History isn't exactly a fun subject but he makes it fun by always tossing in his stories. They have absolutely nothing to do with the subject but they keep you entrained. Very easy and fun class

Tells way too many far fetched stories, kept pushing his sci-fi romance novel on us, I think someone bought it simply out of spite and doesn't give clear instructions. I took the class because I'm a history buff and I was even bored 90% of the class.

Yes, he may tell stories but if you pay attention they do relate to the subjectclass lecture. Tests are a little tough but manageable if you pay attention. If you are there everyday, and you do not play on your phone you will not have any problems. Great guy. Read his book before class, or end of the semester and it may help you!

He is by far my favorite teacher. He has dry humor but I think hes funny and tells pretty great stories and shows history in a different light. His stories most of the time relate to what hes teaching and if you do the review/notes its an easy A.

Favorite and best teacher I've ever had. I enjoyed his lectures and classes so much that I took several over my time at Mott College and changed to history degree. He was not an easy grader, you had to work for it but he made learning fun and interesting mixing course content with stories that make you think deeper and question things.
