Wow. This class is awesome. It is John bytheway for crying out loud. He really cares about the students and really helps you do well in the class and tests and I have learned a lot in the class.

Good class. During the discussion he would often say "this is going to be on the test" so as long as you write those down and read the manual and study guide, you should be fine. He gives out very generous study guides before tests and the final isn't comprehensive which is nice.

This is a good class to take if you want an easy A, but honestly I didn't learn very much and the exams were an insult to my intelligence. I studied an hour or two for the final and got a 100%. The class doesn't demand much so you get what you pay for.

Great class. It is a little easy but if you don't learn anything that's your own fault! All the people that said negatives about him are probably antisocial zoobies anyways who have the time to study all day. If you're a nerd like them then take a harder class. I thought the class was good.

Great teacher, sticks to the scriptures and brings the spirit to class. Fun stories and laughs mixed in with the spiritual. Need to study for the exams. The study guide are a bit vague.

Brother Bytheway is an excellent teacher. His lectures are interesting and he knows how to level the comical with the serious. The tests are pretty straightforward if you study the review and test packet. I learned a lot in his class and would recommend him to anyone for Book of Mormon.

Good Study guides for the tests, but study well he gets a little cute and somewhat tricky. Very good lectures.

Amazing guy, this one is. Way worth the early mornings! He keeps you interested the whole time with all of the quotes, stories, and doctrine that just seem to ooze out of him. You'll learn a lot from him. Study for the tests, and you'll be fine.

I had him in the morning, I never fell asleep, this is my first BYU religion class but I found him to be very interesting, he knows his stuff. He gives you a review guide for the test but you really need to study the student packed for the chapters and read the BOM manual pages he tells you to. I got an A, but I had to study my stuff.

Yes he is enjoyable, but I will always remember his sincerity and humility. He tries to bring the spirit into class but doesn't manipulate. i think some of you return missionaries think you are better than him. wish there were more classes that focus on the ease of the gospel not the unimportant details.

Easy, Easy, Easy. He does teach with the spirit and the class was so simple. Pretty much everyone should walk out with a B or better. You have to try very hard to get lower then that. Great insight, and class is way entertaining. If you want an easy A, and to learn the BoM with good principles that doesn't go too deep, take it from John.

John is a great guy. Couldnt be more helpful. Has a great spirit with him at all times. Tells exactly what is expected on tests. The grade is made up of tests and journals and attendance so if you do these things, you will do well.

Bro. Bytheway is a really great professor. Read the BofM readings and complete the journal writings. He basically tells you what's on the test, but you still have to study. He's really good at teaching. He tells stories and other cool things.

The only textbook you need for this class is the BoM and the student manual which can be used for 121 as well. Bytheway is a great teacher. His notes are on power-points which he e-mails to the students. The tests are super easy and there is only one other assignment due. Looking for an easy A and a great learning opportunity, take it from him.

Great teacher, makes class a lot more enjoyable than most classes. It helps to go to class because some of his test questions relate to discussions in class.

Brother Bytheway was AMAZING. He is a down to earth guy that is very helpful. He teaches things about the Book of Mormon that I have overlooked for years. His tests are easy because he goes over a test-specific study guide the week before. He is really funny and keeps the class interesting. WELL worth the trip to Salt Lake. Best class ever!

Brother Bytheway lectures very well. He is funny and still manages to convey loads of information in a way that is easy to remember and retain. Tests are a piece of cake and he goes over the review in class. His presentations are full of good quotes and he offers great insight on the second half of the BOM. Take this class. You won't regret it.

Brother Bytheway is the man. Definitely worth the drive up to SLC. He's a church legend and his lectures are amazing. The class period before a test is a review where he give you all the answers and on top of it he gives a huge extra credit assignment at the end. By far the best religion teacher!

Brother Bytheway is fantastic. He is very knowledgable and he makes great connections between all the books and scriptural text that you would probably never put together on your own. The test reviews are great - He lays out exactly what he is looking for. Attendance is mandatory. I would DEFINITELY take the course again.

Show up to all the lectures and you are pretty much guaranteed to get an A. Really nice, down to earth, funny professor. I mean, he is the same John Bytheway that has all the audiobooks. Wonderful guy to take a religion credits, I will take as many courses as I can from him. Read the BoM, and then go to class to have your mind blown.

Brother Bytheway is the best religion teacher I have ever had! He is so knowledgable about the gospel and has such a love for his students. His class is all about developing a love for the Book Of Mormon and therefore his tests are as he would quote "a piece of cake". If you love learning, but don't want to deal with stressful tests this is for you

John Bytheway is a great instructor who offers great insights into The Book of Mormon but he is still very funny and tells a lot of jokes.

Seriously worth the drive to Salt Lake once a week. His main focus is to increase your testimony of the Book of Mormon, not on making you hate class. Tests are so easy. The point is to learn, not to suffer through the class.

Brother Bytheway is amazing. My testimony and knowledge of the Book of Mormon has grown so much from this class. He offers extra credit and there are no papers. I would take this class over and over again from him.

Super professor for religion: He is clear-cut on grades and his tests are easy. Whether you read or not, he will blow your mind with cool stuff.

Simple assignments spread out. As long as you keep up with the reading and go to class, it's a pretty easy class. He didn't seem to stray from what was in the student manual and seemed like he may be a better Book of Mormon teacher but I still learned a lot from reading and enjoyed all the lectures. Felt like an institute class. I loved it!!!

He is such a great professor. He treats the religion classes more like seminary classes and less like lectures. He gives very reasonable tests and very generous reviews. I think he has a great sense of humor and is so passionate about what he teaches. I would take his class for every religion credit if I could.

Very inspirational and pretty funny if you're in to LDS Conference humor. Tests are actually pretty hard but he prepares you well and if you do the readings and pay attention to his reviews there is no reason you shouldn't get an A.

Brother Bytheway is down to earth, and cares so much more about you learning about the Book of Mormon than your grade. The class average for the first test was 93.21%. He's just awesome. Take his class if you can.

Definitely worth the weekly trip to Salt Lake! Brother Bytheway is the best professor you can ask for. Not only was his class uplifting but it's an easy A if you show up and pay attention. Only 3 tests, and he goes over all of the material in the test review before. Lots of extra credit opportunities too. He does grade for attendance though.

Brother Bytheway is the best religious professor there is. He is brilliant and the class is super easy. More than just grades, it is just fun being in his class and learning from him. If you show up and listen, you will gain more knowledge than from any other class out there. BroJo is the best!

It's totally worth it to drive up to salt lake just to take his class. It's a perfectly structured religion class. You'll learn a lot without killing yourself.

Easiest BOM class you can take at BYU hands down. Great teacher, as well. Tests are easy as heck. I barely studied for them and got 90%, and I'm not a smart or hardworking student. The only reason I got a lowish grade is because I procrastinated my reading journal.

Brother Bytheway helped me to see the war chapters in a new way and I came to love them. His lectures are hilarious. He truly cares more about your spiritual development than a grade (which is how religion classes should be!). The drive to SL was worth it. I'm so happy I took BOM from him.

This class was so enjoyable. You just do a journal entry every week and he gives very detailed test reviews, this class is what religion should be, not stressful but inspirational. He also offers lots of extra credit! It was so refreshing for school not to get in the way of our education for once.

Professor Bytheway is an amazing teacher. There were 4 easy tests and a reading journal, which was a reflection. He made the class enjoyable because there was no stressful homework. His lectures are enjoyable and there was extra credit available. I took his class in Salt Lake and it was worth the trip. Take this class! EASY A and ENJOYABLE!!

Professor Bytheway is one of the best educators I will ever have. He's funny, engaging, and clear. I learned so much about the Book of Mormon with him. He blew my mind, over and over. It was like General Conference every Thursday, just so amazingly INSIGHTFUL and UPLIFTING. Couldn't get enough of what he had to say. Can't recommend highly enough.

Brother Bytheway is the gem of BYU religion teaching. This is how all religion classes should be, inspirational, educational, spiritual, and testimony building. He makes his class in a way that he clearly wants you to get an A, not fail. He cares more about you understanding the doctrine. Best instructor at BYU, by far!

Brother Bytheway is the best religion professor I've had. He has such a fun personality and makes lectures engaging. Quirky, funny, but also super thoughtful. He has such a cool perspective, I learned so many new insights about the Gospel through his comment. Weekly scripture reading & reflection, midterm, & final. He's focused on gospel not grade!

The only reason I rate this a 2 for difficulty is because the tests are only a little easier than your average BYU religion tests, so they are weirdly specific questions that will trip you up. The class itself is super easy, but you should plan on studying for several hours for each test. Love Brother Bytheway, wish he taught every religion class!

Weekly reading quiz that was as simple as "Did you read?" There were 3 extra credit opportunities and 3 total exams. The class was live remote & the lectures were available up until the exam ended. Going to lecture was not required, but info for some test questions were given there. I highly recommend taking him for all religion you can.

Brother Bytheway is awesome! Super low stress class, which is great for a religion course! You have a weekly quiz where you simply mark you took notes on the reading, three exams that are pretty simple (and he tells you what to review), and three extra credit opportunities! I loved his class! Definitely recommend!

First religion class I took at BYU and one of the best classes I've ever taken, it was REL A 275. His lectures are funny and you don't have to be there, and he recorded them so you could watch em later. Most engaging teacher that gave the best lectures, I learned so much about the BoM and felt the Spirit, definitely would recommend to everyone!

Brother Bytheway really cares about his students and the content. He did seem a little unfamiliar with the New Testament compared to the Book of Mormon, but he still made each class meaningful. I would recommend taking this class from him!

Brother Bytheway's class is run so well, I wish other religion professors were like him. His lectures are SO spiritual, inspirational, and insightful, and he clearly, like bold in the slides clearly, shows what will be on the test. He is not trying to fail you, if you watch the 3 test review classes without anything else, you'll pass.

Professor Bytheway is great! He clearly cares a lot more about students having a good spiritual experience rather than making the class hard. Honestly you could never come to class and still easily pass, but I highly recommend coming to class if you want an A because a lot of test questions are only addressed in class. Overall its a great class!!

Brother Bytheway is a fantastic teacher and is great at connecting with his students. He knows how to teach and avoids lecturing just for the sake of talking. I don't think I have ever learned more in a class. The way he teaches can and should deepen your testimony of the Book of Mormon. As with any religion class, you get what you put into it.

I'm not going to say anything new about Brother Bytheway, I'm just going to say that everything good you've heard about him and his class is true. The class organization allows for you to independently study and grow closer to God which is everything I believe a religion class should be. Tests aren't hard and the workload is light. Perfect class.

Absolutely GOATed if you go to BYU and dont take a religion class from him youve wasted your time. He is an awesome teacher and theres no stress especially for a religion class

This was a very enlightening and easy class. I took this since this was a required religion credit, but it barely felt like it was a class and more of a Sunday School lesson you'd get at church! There are barely any assignments - just make sure to read the Book of Mormon readings and you will pass the class and tests with an easy A!

John is a solid dude. The bom tests are hard wherever you go

He is such a sweet man! The problem is that the only thing you are graded on are tests, so if you don't do good on tests, you don't do good in the class. Also, his lectures are overhyped in my opinion.

I LOVE JOHN BYTHEWAY!! He was such a fun religion teacher to take, and the effort of taking the Frontrunner up to the SLC center was more than worth it! He makes the gospel relatable and also helps you feel like an awesome child of God. I HIGHLY recommend!

It's a pain to take the frontrunner to Salt Lake, but it's worth it for Bytheway and his class. Super Easy A if you just show up, I finished this class with well over 100%.

Brother Bytheway is awesome. Definitely worth going up to Salt Lake to take his class. I took 2 different classes from him and loved them both. Wish I could have taken more from him honestly. Cares more about you learning than making sure the class is hard enough.

John has a weird cult audience of students that rave about his classes (take him multiple times) and spend time out of their day to go dislike all of the comments from people giving him a 4/5. The reality? His classes are all very easy and he is very kind/smart. Yet, his lectures are very boring. Reads from powerpoint/repeats jokes. Dislike below !

3 online tests worth 75% of your grade. But you do them at home. There is one PowerPoint on his learning suite that has EVERY TEST ANSWER on it. It is legit copied and pasted which is very convenient. nice and spiritual guy. he knows what he is talking about. A fair amount of extra credit. Take this class from him

It's clear that Brother Bytheway is passionate about what he teaches. His classes consisted of long lectures and some online tests that were fairly easy. He really wants you to enjoy your religion classes and does a great job encouraging that. Definitely would recommend taking a class from him!

Amazing lectures and insights. Assignments were almost all journal entries we did on our own on the new testmant reading or byu speeches/conference talks usually for extra credit. Exams are pretty easy. Would 100% recommend commuting to Salt Lake for at least one of his classes.
