His lectures are pretty good and you really need to go because he doesn't post answers to the problems he does in class and you have to do them the exact same way for homework and exams. Grading is really tough if you don't do it the same way.

He is really good at teaching accounting. I personally find him really funny in class but I might be one of the only ones. You have to go to class to learn how to solve the problems the way he wants. The text book is pretty useful but if you don't do problems exactly as done in class your grade will suffer.

He either doesn't post the problems to the answers or doesn't post the answers to the problems. He doesn't even post practice prelims online. If you miss the handouts in class, you are screwed. He's also always sarcastic on Piazza, and answers questions with questions. It almost feels as if he's afraid that we learn too much from his class.

One of the worst and most obnoxious professors I've ever had. Seems nice in lecture, is completely rude during office hours or on Piazza. Homework questions often unclear, lectures don't explain anything. Pointless class.

Awful. Gave garbage feedback during office hours and only taught topics during lecture in ways that were convoluted and didn't agree with standard practices, meaning that if you self-studied you were screwed. Somehow he had the ability to make every answer to a student question sound condescending, as though he were doing us a service. Never again.

He goes off tangents all the time in class and barely touches on actual course materials. His explanations are all super convoluted. He doesn't give helpful example problems in class and the only problems in his ppt slides are the ones in textbook. This makes completing his problem sets extremely hard.

I've taken 4 classes with Callister. If you have the chance to take a class with him, DON'T. He's a boring lecturer, doesn't listen to students, and is a massive jerk. If he's not being outright disrespectful, don't worry he'll still find a way to be passive aggressive. He's also not funny and talks about General Motors too much.

Professor Callister is incredibly rude in office hours and on ed discussions, super boring in lecture (only about 30% of the class still goes regularly), his lecture slides are all screen shotted from the textbook or other presentations so they're not helpful on hmwks (can't ctrl f), very disorganized lecture style, would not recommend at all

Professor Callister is a very engaging lecturer. He answers questions and explains concepts very clearly and, whether you are interested in the topic or not, he is enthusiastic and seems to really care about the material. He is very accommodating (especially during COVID) and cares about his students' wellbeing (not common among STEM profs).

Exams give little partial credit but are also very easy. Rather than focus on critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the exams prioritize memorization. Discussions had typos and Callister often rambled in lectures. Overall a poorly run class.

Overall an easier class. You definitely need to attend lecture for participation, but most people didn't seem to pay attention and did fine on exams. Homework/exams are heavily based on the slides he posts, so as long as you study those you should be fine. He is caring and tries hard to engage with students, but most people are bored in lecture.

Decent class, pretty chill with low workload. However, before exams you definitely should still study and review terms and make flashcards, as there might be some more obscure things in the exams that are still relevant to the course. You don't really need to pay attention to every single detail in lectures, as he talks alot about general motors.
