Best teacher i have ever had.

Best teacher i had and i've been in school for 7 years now. i had him 5 years ago and wish every professor could be like him.

Not a tough class if you do your work.

Cartier was one of the best teachers I ever had. He genuinely wanted to help everyone, and his sincerity truly makes his class amazing. I would take classes with him every semester if i could.

This man is a genius! He has made writing meaningful and enjoyable. I will take what i have learned with me wherevere i go. I am ready for the real world.

He's extremely nice, my first impression I thought he was a little weird but that impression did not last very long once you get to him better, very genuine guy and his stuff comes from the heart!!! I love you MAN!!!!

If you want to learn and have fun while you learning, this is the professor you want to have for every single semester, I personally think this man was born to teach, he cares about your school work and best of all he is willing to help you on his own time. He is the greatest.

Stellar Professor! He explains assignments to the "T"...one-on-one meetings help a lot, tells you your strengths and constructively gives criticism...treats everyone as an indivual, with the upmost respect...love the guy...take his class, you won't regret...you'll look forward to every class

He's a very polite professor. He works hard to individualize time with each and every student and sees to it that each and every student succeeds. If I had one minor complaint, it would be that you come out of the class not really having learned the essential 101 skills in terms of grammar etc.

At the beginning you don't know him. When you just start his class he will get you excited to write. He is a very carring Professor and very understanding person so don't let anybody put you down Professor John Cartier. When your in his class he wants you to finish his class with an A.

This man can change your life. I never use to enjoy writting until I took his class. He is by far the best professor at BCC.

This prof is the best for english. He gives u alot to read n do mind mapping w/colors at first ur going to think he is out of his mind for making u color but it works.Take him if u want an easy A. All u have to do is ur work n youll pass.He's the best. :)

Really good prof. I hated writing and had failed it twice before cause I just didn't know how to get my thoughts together to write a paper. He broke it down, made it fun and so interesting that I actually like writting now and I write A papers in all my other classes, I'm taking him again for WRT 201. A must take!

I took him for comp 1.. he is the greatest teacher ive ever had. very easy. makes class fun. don't use the text book either.. cancel classes a lot. but that is good cuz all the work u do is at home

Wha, he is def one of my favorite! He knows what is going on in class, very individual and helpful either. I wasnt a huge fan of writing but after his class, I learn how to keep myself into writing. Very passionate and professional.

You'll go in, and you'll be like WTF. Stick with it, he'll tell you that its a work load, but when going through it, its bearable. Hes a great guy, and really wants you to get a good grade. Take him for this class, you won't regret it.

This guy is great. At first you might seem unsure about him, but stick with him. The writings are so easy. It's a writing class, so of course you write a lot. He's very nice, and extremely helpful. He teaches you a lot about everything, I really reccomend him.

A lot of work, but none of it is difficult. He does care about his students and is always available for help. Really is a genuinely nice person all around, which is something I can't say of 90% of the staff at this school. This is more of a creative writing class, not an actual language and composition course.

Cool guy...down to earth and easy to get along with. The work is not hard, just do the projects and you will be fine. I would reccomend him to everybody!

you gotta be kidding! he is so cool guy. i dont believe that he could hurt an ant. he cancels classes a lot because of his parents. He is very easygoing guy. he is very calm and positive. take it to pass, not to improve your skills. that is my own personal opinion.

This teacher is the coolest guy in the world. very laid back, only is there because he wants the students to learn how to deal with college. take this guy and you'll love him...plus its an easy GPA booster

Firstly, he's a very thoughtful and honest person. His unique approach to composition helps students of all levels. He provides a complete schedule and list of assignments and due dates right away which is amazingly helpful and generous. Most of all, no matter who you are, he will treat you fairly and find someway to make you interested in writing.

I took Prof. Cartier for wrt 201. I found him a bit of a bore at first since he generated a feel-me-good vibe but most of his teaching techniques were quite unique. That was his edge. He's not your typical read-by-the-book professor. There's more to him than meets the eye.

He was a cool person to talk to and his lesson plans were fun, but his lesson plans were his own- and not based on the curriculum that was supposed to be taught. When I went into Writing Comp 201 I was a little lost because he never covered some material that he should have. Also, he promised to mail out our final projects. he even made us give him

Professor Cartier is easy, fun, and if you do all of your work (and there will be a lot of work) you're guaranteed at least a B+. But don't whine about your grade or you could get into a rough spot. Otherwise I'd reccommend him in a heartbeat.

Pretty good teacher. Very down to earth and easy going. His class is great. Does give about 6 writing papers and you do need to put alot of work into them but he will give you a week to fiish them and they are not that hard. Very understanding and he will make sure you know what to do. ANd requires no books! Great guy<3

Great professor

Probably the best Writing 101/201 professor in BCC. Very easy, doesn't care for attendance, accepts late assignments w/o penalty. No textbooks. No tests/quiz. Only 4-5 papers. It gets hard to keep up b/c of the stuff he wants you to add to the paper, but trust me, this is nothing compared to what the other professors give. I highly recommend him!

Well I had so much fun taking his class. It wasn't difficult but he made us to think whatever we write about. Very genuine and extremely helpful. If you think you didn't learn anything from him I think you should read "on writing well" rather than taking a writing class at BCC

Took Prof. John for both my WRT 101 & 201. Best writing prof I have ever had. He explains everything to you in class and in more detail in e-mails. Any questions he will answer right away. Just make sure to check you e-mail every day. Bottom line is take his class he is the best.

Took this professor over the summer, and must say for the first time I tune with my writing. You will discover techniques and even yourself. The greatest feeling is when are free to be creative and write you discover how naturally it comes to write an essay a research paper. Everyone should this english class !

Never felt this way before about writing and a class. I did not know that I could produce so much and write so much, every time it's time for his class I get excited even tho I am not a hard worker student, professor John gives you opportunity to get to know yourself mentally and lets you know how much you can do.

LOVED this class! No tests or exams. The way he teaches you, he actually pertains toward you life and he helps figure out who you are and what you believe in. Loved every class bc we barely had any! we missed a total of about 8-10 classes for conferences. He really cares about you and if i could, I would take him again. Easy to pass.

One of the my favorite English teachers of all time, I never really liked creative writing to be honest. He gave great, concise, simple instructions for the projects. He made me enjoy writing because he let us all be creative while also following specific (yet interesting) guidelines. I highly recommend this professor. Also, NO TEXTBOOK!!

Professor Cartier is the MAN! He is super easy just aside for the four chapters of five-six pages you have to write every other week. It's an intense class but you just need to on your toes that's about it! He's extremely helpful and is easy on the due dates. Gives more time if you need it. Oh yeah and he says no to textbook!

Really good teacher, very creative, give good readings, give lots of feedback, treats class like a hybrid course, you'll hardly have class, no book, no tests, no mid-terms, no finals just have to write 4 papers/chapters over all semester,this is a perfect class if ur not good at writing & want an EASY A because as long as ur trying he'll PASS you!

This is the BEST English Professor I have ever taken, he is very caring and your Writing skills are guaranteed to Sky-Rocket 100%. Initially I took Writing 101 because it is required but by the end of the semester I became so into writing that I actually now want to write books, all because of this class. He makes the class CREATIVE & FUN! Take it!

He was a great Professor when I took him two years ago. Professor Cartier dedicated his time to guide you expressing your inner thoughts, or as he called it (personal writing), you pour your heart into your work and daily journals. Does anyone know if he is still teaching? I haven't seen him for the spring 2017 semester.
