Professor Congleton is a gem. He genuinely cares for your wellbeing and how you're doing in the class. He's one of few professors who is able to break down a daunting class like Ochem into digestible parts. His lectures are prerecorded on YouTube. Most assignments are done through Mastering Chemistry and OWL. There's a lot of HW, but it's doable.

Hard class but great professor. He is very caring and always asks if you ever need help, to reach out to him because he never wants anyone to feel lost or confused. There's a whole lot of homework.. it takes up a chunk of time but it really helps prepare for the weekly quizzes and tests.

OCHEM A: Best Prof I've had in chem department. Tests are split up well & exactly what is taught in lecture. Prof takes a lot of time figuring out what topics we need to spend more time on. Uses iClicker questions for participation points and to see where the class is performing. Very caring and open to all questions. Avg for tests= around 83%.

Prof C is the best chem professor at OCC. Truly a caring and friendly guy. He teaches well and makes organic chemistry less daunting and makes it relatively easy to understand. Most people do really well on exams and he drops the lowest exam score from your grade. He is also easy with lab. Highly recommend him.

Super organized, available, friendly, caring, great lectures, and the list goes on. Exams are very fair with no surprises (maybe a bit too easy but I'm not complaining) but don't look at the reviews and expect to slack off because there's a ton of work required (lots of homework and must watch videos outside of lecture time). Labs were great too!

Best professor I ever had. I hated chemistry until I took Professor Congleton. Honestly, he is a blessing in OChem. If you want a great grade while learning a lot, I would highly recommend this professor. I'm actually kind of sad I can't take anymore courses with Prof C.

Most wholesome professor I've ever had! He cares about his students and is very approachable! Hw/Quizzes are done through Mastering Chem and exams are graded fairly (3,1 final). Check out his youtube channel and do the extra practice problems. Ochem is tough so don't slack off and expect an easy A. Also, bring a blanket to class bc it's cold

Prof C is honestly the best professor at OCC. He is very friendly and is always there when students need help. To be successful in his class (both semesters of ochem), you should review your notes, Mastering Chemistry homework, and complete his worksheets. If you work hard and try your best, you will get an A in the class.

I was scared of ochem, but omg it's not bad after taking it with him. He's so encouraging, understanding, and compassionate of our situation as students he always does as much as he can to help us succeed. I felt validated when asking questions and his tests are exact replicas of his practice worksheets. Amazing professor, I'm going to miss him!

Lab was pretty easy, and he couldn't care less about sig figs. He's very caring and you can tell he wants everyone to do well.

No question is a bad question, his HW, tests and quizzes are all extremely fair, and learning and engagement are his priority. 10/10 prof.
