he is absolutely the best teacher i have ever had. grades hard but is totlly fair and helpful, i have switched my schedule around to have him for english the last three semesters. iam transferring next semester and i will be taking his last class online.

This professor is awesome an extremely helpful. He has all of the work one needs to do and when it is due on his syllabus. I would definitely recommend him, however one should know he is very anal about turning work late and with grammar, but trust me he is fair when it comes to grading. Overall, I think if one puts the effort, one will get an "A".

I started in his English 101 class and loved the course as well as his teaching methods. Now I am in English 102 and am extremely glad I went with Professor Corbally again. Classes are always interesting and my writing has improved tremendously.

His essays are actually interesting to think about and write - I did one on a video game, and another on Roswell! Reading selections are always interesting, but from what I understand not everyone did as well on the essays as some of us. Hard grader maybe?

What a great teacher, he merges the most boring topics into some story about his favorite Aunt Suchi and you instantly know exactly what you have to do to get an 'A' in the class. High recommended. $$

Corbally is a pretty good teacher. I found him to be fairly easy. He doesn't grade hard at all; all you have to do is show up for class and do the work. The research paper is difficult but he picks good topics to write about. There's alot of writing in the class so if your not into writing: don't take this teacher!

Definitely an interesting teacher. He has interesting topics and gives interesting lectures. You will definitely have to do the work in his class and do it well if you expect to receive a high grade. If you like to actually learn and not just skate by then his class is highly recommended.

I absolutely recommend this professor. I came into this having never written a paper and left fully capable and I did pretty good grade wise. He chooses current issues and relates them to history. One of the textbooks was made just for him, very interesting. You have to do the work to get the grade. Worth every new gray hair I got :-)

He's SO funny! I took his classes a couple semesters back and i STILL remember how much i LOVED going to his class, his lectures were entertaining and never tedious! online classes simple and straight forward. once a week post on topic, need to respond to 5 others comments (i usually did 4 & still got full marks) 3 essays (worth 100 pts ea) with an extra credit essay at the end. text book not needed, just google search story summaries. very happy with him, prefer corbally over warren. left with an a. superior

Professor Corbally is a good, fun choice for English 101, but I found his class to be on the difficult side, with quite a bit of work. He's a nice guy though, and is helpful in pointing out errors, responds to emails, and allows students to write a revision essay if they did not do particularly well. I was able to get a B, almost got a C though.

Took his english class online and all i have to say is that he's a wonderful teacher. As long as you turn in all your essays and do most of the discussion questions you'll pass with an A or B. Make sure you take 101 and 102 before 218 so you have the tools you need to get good scores on the essays.

INTERNET STUDENTS: A piece of advice I would give is to do ALL of the discussion questions he has. Missing 2 - 20 point dis. ques. can lower you grade when you add them up at the end of the class. Also Corbally likes to see factual statements with evidence to demonstrate your view on things. No personal opinions, or guesses/feelings.

I would HIGHLY recommend Corbally. He really helps students to understand and view literature from different perspectives and from the author's point of view. He gives about 6 essays a semester (3 outside/3 in class). It would be a good idea to get his opinion on how to focus your papers, since he is mildly tough grader.

I took English 101 with Professor Corbally this past fall. He worked through all of the elements of a paper, and I could tell it was helpful for those people that needed the instruction. He is always there to help and he is willing to explain things until you understand. You'd be crazy not to take him!

I took 101 online. The class was enjoyable, but you have to do *a lot* of work each week to get full credit. This class is only "easy" if you're okay with a C. He has high grading standards, but they're clear and fair. The research project is a beast: start early, do not procrastinate. If you utilize this course you will become a better writer.

Professor C is certainly a tough grader, but a great educator. With that being said, Professor C is tough in the sense that he wants to push you to do your best, if he sees potential then he won't accept anything but the best from you. Most of the reading can be found in free pdfs online, so save your money and just look online!

Corbally is a cool teacher and is there to help you out anytime you need help. However, his papers that he assigned were very tough for me. Didnt really have homework except online discussions every week. Then we would have papers due every couple of weeks. Average class, wish I could have taken it in the fall instead of summer.

This is my second class taken with this professor and I loved it, again. You are going to need to work, but that's what makes it worthwhile. I was introduced to things I probably wouldn't have read on my own and I liked them. He gives amazing feedback on the four papers you write and it feels like he is really invested in his job.

This instructor is prolific. If you take his online class, between his syllabus & home page, you might feel overwhelmed. Once you've read both, that shouldn't be the case because Professor Corbally is only to glad to help. This isn't a difficult course, but you must keep pace with the discussions & essays, or you could fall behind, so keep up.

He had a very clear grading criteria, and all of the information regarding the class was already scheduled so there were never any surprises about the homework! You do read, a lot, but only as is necessary to complete the assignments. Would take again!

Corbally is a good professor. He's helpful and replay to your question as soon as he can. His assignment makes you really think. If you stuck on an assignment you can always ask him for help. This was my first online class ever and I was extremely nervous and hesitant at first but I'm so happy I got lucky with such an excellent professor. He explains everything from A-Z. The (online) classes are based on weekly discussions and the three papers written throughout the semester. Offers extra credit every now and then and is always reachable if you need any help with anything. He also wants to make sure everyone passes and will do everything he can to help you pass. I would say one of the best and most caring teachers.

I love that he gives you the opportunity to do four essays, keeping your three best scores. There are discussions every week (1 extra credit discussion at end), 1 quiz, 4 papers ( 4th one is optional, can replace a previous bad paper) and 1 final paper.

I had Prof Corbally for English 101, his class is entertaining and enjoyable, though be aware of there would be a good amounts of short and long essays due as the purpose of an English class. He offers extra credits if you go to Professor Rosas's workshop, take Prof Corbally for Eng101 then take Prof Rosas for Eng102, it is going to help you.

I took this class online. This teacher is extremely nice, helpful, and understanding. I would take him again for other classes. LOTS OF READING. Expect to have weekly reading assignments, some including an entire novel. There were three essays and the rest were discussion and responses. On the weeks that essays are due we didn't have a discussion.

I took his online class English 101, and he gives you automatic feedback emailing you how to quickly fix the essay and gives you two days to turn it in without deducting points. Pay attention to the feedback he really tries to give his students a passing grade. I would 100% take his class again for English 102.

Prof Corbally was amazing. I took his Eng 102 class and got an A. Just like you I searched up Prof. Corbally before starting the class. I took this class online during covid, along with 3 other classes and I was able to manage well! Prof. Corbally welcomes all questions and will prepare you 100% for each paper. The lectures are long but not dreadful. He gives very realistic timelines, would take again!

I took his 5-week summer class for English 101. This being said you must dedicate a decent amount of time, each week there was a lecture, discussion, and essay. He gives a breakdown of what he wants in each essay and each paragraph so it is easy to do well, you just need to write a lot and follow his guidelines.

I took this Professor for English 203 and it was a great choice! If u dont like writing, this class will change ur mind! All the discussion topics are so interesting and fun to do. Theres 3 essays u have to do and there are different topics to choose from including a creative writing one. As long as u do the minimum requirements, u will get an A.

He has been teaching English at college level for almost 50 years! That's a long time! It sure shows. Yes, he uses his own website rather than Canvas. The readings can also be long and confusing. But he is very nice. Professor Corbally gives great feedback on assignments. Also, he almost always replies to emails which is a plus.

My favorite English professor by far. If you are a good writer you will pass his class without an issue. As a procrastinator myself I didn't have a problem keeping up with the materials and finished the class with an A. He responds to emails quickly. The only downside is that he does not use canvas but his website is easy to navigate through.

He responds to emails quickly compared to the other professors, his lectures can be long but he's funny, he made me laugh out loud a couple of times, there was extra credit, and overall he's a great professor.

Mr.Corbally is a great teacher and has very clear and easy to understand grading criteria. The lectures are all online to read. There is also a lot of extra credit. I'm not the best of students, but I left the class with over 100%.

Fairly easy I came back to school after 3 years and he helped me learn to write again! Get ready to read his lectures but he gives you clear instructions. 4 essays (one freebie), 8 discussions (one freebie), and one book to read! A LOT of extra credit.

Going back to school after years and I am passing with an A. I'm currently on 7 weeks out of 8 for his class. He gives ALOT of instruction which is quite clear so be ready to read read read. I've had a few questions in regards to MLA format and he was very quick to respond and was always helpful. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it!

What helped me out was the sample papers. He is clear, I've yet to be a fan of English classes. Although he hasn't changed that. If you don't get an A in the class it's because you didn't follow his clear directions. Always available to reach, fast responses, easy assignments. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Great Professor! I took his online course. I have always dreaded taking english classes but not this one! 101 and 102 are great. He has great communication and discussions and essays are easy, he literally tells you what he wants to see. Make sure you ask about MLA format if you're not sure!

Such a great professor, always really nice and accessible. All the discussions and essays are pretty easy just make sure to follow his guidelines and read the novels he assigns. His lectures are also really good but you don't need to depend on them for assignments, theyre just kinda there for extra information. Also a pretty easy grader, take him!

He's super nice and, honestly, such a great professor. He provides clear & good feedback on your essays. For the discussions, they're there for guidance, but he's clear on what he's expecting from you on all of the assignments. His class is very organized, and he's an easy grader. I would definitely take his class again.

Prof. Corbally is THE BEST!!! I was actually sad to be leaving his class but grateful to have left his class as a stronger writer. He is very detailed and really wants the best for his students to succeed. His detailed examples and feedback is YOUR BESTFRIEND. It's nearly impossible to not pass with an A. Just apply yourself, you can do it!

Professor Corbally is extremely caring and understanding. His class is a breeze. Just do what you need to do and you'll pass. Similar to most online classes: read the instructions clearly, watch/read the lectures, and do not procrastinate. He's rooting for you to get an amazing grade! ps: DO NOT THINK TWICE ABOUT TAKING HIS CLASS!!!

Amazing Professor! Gives loads of feedback on assignments. you will not have a professor that cares this much about you, trust! The textbook was probably like $15 and the short stories are free! Reading amount is moderate, it's more reading what the assignment is about than the actual assignment:). Grades on progress! 100% recommend:)

Absolutely loved this professor would take him again. He was incredibly clear, his structure was hard to understand at first but at the end, I was flowing speeding through. He is INCREDIBLY communicative when it comes to feedback and response time. I would get a response within an hour every time, he gave clear and detailed feedback on my papers.

One of the best professors I have EVER had! Class is really chill & so is he, but he cares about his students. He picked great readings & his lectures were very engaging. Tests & assignments aren't too difficult, he just asks that you think deeply. If you're a more creative or inventive person you will for sure enjoy his projects & extra credit!

Mr. Corbally is a great professor! super easy to work with. Great teacher. I would say his English 103 is an easy A if you are just willing to sit down and learn :) not too much work. He is super easy to get ahold of and he offers a LOT of extra credit opportunities!

I would recommend Professor Corbally. He is very much involved with his students online. This class does require you to put work behind it but, it is manageable. He does prepare you to advance in your writings & gives you great feedback. He responds quick to any questions also. I would say he is lenient in his grading and wants to see everyone pass

He'll bring out the best of you. 4 Eng classes at LAHC, Corbally was better than 8 at CSULB. Offers options to let students find themselves and thrive. Never a situation where the prompts were boring or tedious. If not wanting a creative side, you can still dump a 5 page standard. Understands students' struggles, values your education, affordable
