I dont know what these people are talking about! Dr. Cummings is so so awesome, and he does not go too fast! He is so funny and cool in class. He doesnt make you do **** work, his tests arent bad if you study, and he gives extra credit. Take him if you can!

He is a very funny teacher although I only had him 1/2 a semester b/c he left for a family illness. His test were not that hard and his class was very entertaining. Take plenty notes and study the powerpoints and you'll do fine. I never used book and he gave extra credit. I had McNutt for a few weeks and he was def. better!

Good teacher. Cares a lot about his students. He definitely changes the level of the tests so that people do well (if the last one was too hard). Used the book more this semester than last. Definitly harder the second semester but that's mostly just the material. I took notes on my laptop and it made it easier to keep up with him.

Anatomy is not easy. Cummings makes it fun with his jokes and personality. His exams are all MC and are a combination of the textbook and powerpoints. If you go to lecture, he will tell you everything you need to know. There are very few questions that you wonder where he pulled them from. Friendly and approachable. Very accomodating. Recommend.

Mr. Cummings is one of my favorite professors at Clemson! He's very understanding if you have any problems and he's hilarious. He goes quickly through the powerpoints, but he'll repeat anything if you ask him. His tests aren't bad either. He wants everyone to do well!

One of the best professors I have had at Clemson. Anatomy is not easy and is probably one of the hardest classes at Clemson. The only grades you recieve in this class are tests. This semester we had five test and one of which he would drop the lowest test grade. First semester he did not do. Overall very effective teacher. Highly recommended!

JC is GREAT. He is a great professor and makes all of the material understandable and interesting. Teaches from powerpoints. Attendance is not mandatory. The exams are very hard, but if you know ALL of the powerpoints and read the text they are doable.

Definitely take his class. I had heard he was hard and did not want to take the class, but I had no other choice. I am SO glad I did though! His exams are difficult, but they are that way so that you study enough to learn the material. He is so nice and funny and genuinely cares about his students. He is great! He is really difficult however but what anatomy class isn't going to be? (so don't expect an easy A!) Make sure you GO TO CLASS! I don't know what I would do if I missed one because he lectures the entire time and everything that comes out of his mouth is fair game. He is really humorous and will answer any question you have for him!

By far, the best teacher i've EVER had. incredibly hard class, but I loved it and I learned so much. Walker might be easier, but with Cummings you have no choice but to LEARN and that will help in the long run. He made it fun, will help you with anything, and genuinely cares about his students... something you can't say about many professors.

Dr. Cummings is probably the most interesting teacher I have had. I loved the class! The Anatomy jokes of the day were great. Attendance is not recommended but will definately hurt in the long run if you don't go. My advice take this teacher if you need biosc 222 or 223!

Just a really great Professor and a very interesting class! Anatomy jokes of the day keep things lively. You do have to study and learn the material - the tests are guess proof - you really have to know your stuff, but it was soooo worth it!

Cummings is a very passionate teacher who wants you to succeed. This class is NOT that difficult. Simply take good notes (write down everything he says) and memorize it. Made A's on every test, including the first one which most people failed for some reason. If you've ever had a real science class, this is no different. Great teacher.

The second semester is definitely more difficult than the first, but I think more people make A's the second semester. Tests got harder as the semester went along, but still pretty reasonable to get an A as long as you do well in lab and don't bomb any tests. Great professor. Take him. You'll learn so much.

He is definitely the best teacher I have had at Clemson so far. People say the class is hard, but its nothing you can't manage by going to class, taking good notes, and paying attention. He is a passionate teacher with the amazing ability to make a potentially very boring subject extremely interesting and funny! Favorite class this semester.

Yes he talks fast and yes his tests are hard, but he genuinely wants his students to succeed. He is willing to meet with you individually and he takes an interest in you as a person, not just what grade you make. I learned so much and found it to be very interesting. Although it was my most difficult class, it was my favorite.

I LOVE Cummings! He is a fabulous person and professor. His course material is difficult but he explains it so well. It's easy to get an A if you study his notes because he gives you all the tools necessary. It's easy to fail, though, and he won't help if you don't help yourself. Great professor--super clear, but the class is TOUGH! He'll tell you that day one. He'll definitely prepare you for nursing, pharm, or med school. Word of caution: the lab and lecture are like two different classes. Laball anatomy; lectureall physiology. Plan your schedule accordingly. I had Cummings for 2220 and 2230. It's a tough class, but an A is easily attainable IF: you make 100s on the Mastering assignments (use Quizlet!), make powerpoints for the practical (open lab is your friend), and re-write your notes by doing the lecture objectives. Dr. Cummings is super helpful and is hilarious. Overall, a great professor!

This class was one of the hardest classes I have taken here at Clemson, however it was one of my favorite classes as well. Cummings is an exceptional professor and wants his students to succeed. This class will prepare you for any post grad schooling in the medical field, but it takes a lot of work to stay on top of the information. GO TO SI!

Record the lectures, he talks fast sometimes. Constantly study all the powerpoint bullets and lectures, he can be semi-specific on the exams and it can be easy to get behind because there is a LOT of material to study. Most of your notes will come from him speaking. Don't miss class, or you will miss a lot of material. It's not a walk in the park.

Professor Cummings is a fantastic professor. He loves telling jokes during class and is pretty good about answering emails and having office hours. He talks fast but will repeat himself if you ask him to. The homework is pretty minimal, so when preparing for tests it's best to go through your lecture notes and fill in the study guides he gives.

Cummings was a really good professor and is very good at teaching the material. The material itself is extremely difficult, but it is possible to do well if you study hard. He is also really funny and makes his lectures interesting. I had this class online and the lab was awful because of that, so it took some extra studying to be able to do okay.

I had to take this online due to corona, and it was 10x harder than it probably was suppose to be. The lab was awful, with very little help from the TAs and terrible pictures to work off of. Quizzes every week in lab, and super hard tests in lecture.

The bottom line is, A&P is hard no matter what. Professor Cummings makes the class fun though, with anatomy-themed jokes scattered throughout his lectures. The class is strictly lecture-based. If you don't study for the tests, you will not do well. His tests mirror what he says in lecture so make sure to take good notes. The homework is super easy.

I have had him for Anatomy & Physiology I & II and he is such a great professor. By no means is this an easy A though, you definitely need to write down everything he says during lectures and really study for exams. I always went to his review sessions and found them helpful. I also went to every PAL session for the class and I think that helped.

Dr. Cummings is a great guy. He is a hilarious professor, but he cares a lot about his students too. He did the best he possibly could teaching the class online, and I think he did a solid job. I'm not sure if it'll be online in the future or not, but rewatching his lecture videos helped me a ton. Also, PAL is actually super helpful for this class.

This class is a very lecture heavy/test heavy class. The tests were always extremely hard to me. Basically whatever grade you get on the tests is going to be your grade in the class. While attendance is not mandatory, you will not pass the class if you don't go. The 8 AM section was tough but Dr. Cummings made it worth it, he's hilarious. You have to do a lot of studying for the exams but the material is interesting. The lab for this class is super hard as well (you need to get everything right on the pre-labs or you get a 0).

Anatomy and Physiology is a really time-consuming and sometimes difficult class, but Mr. Cummings made it by far my favorite class. You have to show up to class and be ready to take notes the entire time and get down all the details, but as long as you understand the material, the tests aren't terribly hard. Professor Cummings is an AMAZING professor. Please utilize him as a resource. Go to office hours and ask for help when you need it. I took this class twice and ended the class with an A the second time. I utilized the study strategies that Professor Cummings suggested and found what worked for me. He is very personable. John is great - very funny and you can tell he genuinely cares about his students and wants them to perform well! The course however is very difficult and I will have to retake it. It was only offered as an 8AM lecture (but his joke breaks help) and if you miss, its very hard to get caught back up. If you need the class, just be prepared. Its alot.

JC respects you and your time. Has hundreds of students but is available for office hours even if you have to wait a while. PAL is great and helps with notes you may have missed during lectures. But lab's grading policies are strict; you can't afford to miss any points if you want an A. Recommend recording lectures to catch up on what you missed!

Its not the teacher who makes the class so hard, its the actual content of anatomy. However, Dr Cummings tries his hardest to explain complex ideas into simpler ones and really wants you to succeed. ALOT of studying is required but if you put in the work, it is manageable. There is 5 extra credit questions on every test and I never got one wrong.

He is AMAZING. The work is a lot but it is manageable and if you study, you will do well. Go to PAL to make good grades and study those. He is an angel though and so so funny

Jc is amazing. He is the kindest most funny professor ever. Makes time for you in office hour. Answers emails promptly. Truly cares about your wellbeing. 8AM lectures are so worth it with him. GO TO PAL!! You will get all the missed notes during those sessions. Ask him questions. Good luck!

A&P is no easy subject but prof. cummings makes an A very attainable. His lectures are really good. As long as you go to class and take notes, you're fine. I only study my notes and have gotten As on all exams. You are only tested on material he says in class. He also gives jokes throughout the class to make it bearable and they're always good

John is honestly the best professor Clemson has. A&P is not an easy class, but he tries his very best to help his students. 8am classes normally suck but JC makes sure to keep us awake with his extremely out of pocket jokes. This class is hard, but if you read the material, study each day, and go to PAL (!!)- you will be just fine!

He does his best to keep you engaged. Super funny. Makes all his own tests which are very difficult, but if you stay on top of the material and are a good test taker, you'll be fine.

Professor Cummings is the best. I went to office hours multiple times this past semester and he helped me work through different study strategies to get the grade I wanted/needed in the course. Lab was super interesting and homework was quick and easy. However, the course/test is difficult, so be prepared to study a lot!

I absolutely love Dr. Cummings! This is by far one of the hardest classes at Clemson and he knows that; but, he wants you to do well. He is super accessible outside of class and he will do whatever he can to help you do well in the class. He is super funny, and cares a lot about his students. I would take him every year, anatomy not so much though

Best professor ever! Truly cares about you and your academics. Will make time for you if you ask. Always willing to answer questions despite having 500 students. Tests are really hard but as long as you study and listen in class you will get an A. Go to PAL!

AMAZING professor! Dr. Cummings is a great lecturer and makes a hard class with a lot of material very doable if you put in the work. Also, he's very funny and I genuinely enjoyed class every day. Would strongly recommend going to PAL. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Dr. Cummings keeps a fast-paced class, but he's genuinely invested in student success. Lectures can be tough, but going to PAL sessions and using resources like Unstuck AI for study prep can really help. Overall, a challenging yet rewarding course.

John Cummings is a professor that I've never seen before. He is very funny in class, keeps you entertained, and knows what he is talking about. I can tell that he really enjoy teaching his students and wants the best for them. However, his exams are difficult, but with enough studying, you should be fine.

GREAT teacher, but hard af class. Go to class, go to PAL, talk to him about your previous tests. Pray to get through it

The class is very interesting and if you study 2 days before you will be fine. His tests are very hard make sure to meet with him before the first test he will give you tips on how to study. He is an amazing teacher and knows what he is talking about just a very hard class

DR. CUMMINGS IS THE BEST!!! His class(es) are hard, but if you put in the time and effort, you will do well! Take the time to meet with him after exams, he wants to help you! Genuinely one of the kindest professors I have ever had. He truly cares for his students, and it's incredibly refreshing for such a notoriously hard course.

Favorite professor i've ever had. I loved going to class because he is so funny, didn't get bored in class even once. Material isn't terribly difficult, but there is a lot of it so be prepared to study. Doing well in this class isn't impossible you just have to put the work in

The material was definitely a lot but going to PAL sessions made this class bearable. The tests were 40 questions with 5 extra credit questions. I studied the PAL worksheets every time and I got A's or B's on the exams. You do need to go to lectures since he doesn't put much info on his ppt slides, but there's 2 sections so you could go to either.

If you are on the fence about A&P or Prof. Cummings, don't be!! Prof. Cummings is one of the most helpful and down to earth professors and wants all his students to do well. There are also a ridiculous amount of resources (PAL, Tutors, Videos, etc) This is a pretty difficult class but a good grade is achievable if you're willing to work.
