Great professor!! Always laughing and makes the course more enjoyable! Very helpful and always welcoming questions! Everyone should take the course if the get a chance! It's a tough course but it's enjoyable.
Awesome class, incredibly interesting and really fun, but also the tests are really hard! If you take this class, definitely take pass/fail

This class is interesting as far as the material is concerned but is extraordinarily difficult. You practically have to memorize his notes word for word to even make a decent grade on the tests. The material is genius though.
Great lecturer. Topics seem easy because they apply to everyday life, but tests are hard because you need to identify exact terms in hypothetical situations (i.e. Tom and Mary broke up. Since then Mary has lost her appetite. What stage of depression is she in?). Hard to get an A...easy to get a D or C if you're takig it pass/fail.
best professor ever. tests are really hard but he gives ample opportunities to get a good grade if you try.
He is the best teacher I have had so far at UT. He really enjoyes and knows what he is talking about. The most interactive teacher for sure! Take his class, but beware of the difficult tests!
are people kidding that he's hot? the man is old. he's got great stories, but don't forget to study cuz his tests are not about his stories.

Interpersonal Communications was my fave class, I was obsessed w/ it and got a high A! The tests were hard, but Daly is amazing and so interesting. This class should be mandatory to take at UT~ Seriously. Love it.
Awesome professor, awesome course a lot of information and super interesting. Not an easy course but definitely worthwhile
This was the best class I have ever taken! Dr. Daly is a wonderful professor. But beware of the exams...THEY SUCK!! MEMORIZE the lists and go to the study sessions...make sure you keep up with the reading....very scientific and too boring to try to cram for it last minute...take advantage of the "re-tests" they really help bring up your grade...second chances are necessary in most cases....the TA's are your BEST FRIENDS!!!
Best class I've ever taken
This class is really interesting but take it P/F if you can. Posts lectures and notes online. Tests are demanding and I found myself not having enough time. Excellent and funny professor.
I loved this class!! Prof. Daly is amazingly clever, funny, and insightful. Everything he says makes sense and classes are loads of fun. The tests are tough, but you have a chance to retest.
Awesome professor!!!
Tests are hard but classes are enjoyable. Make sure you take good notes
GREAT CLASS! The tests are pretty rough, but the material is really applicable and Daly is an amazing, entertaining lecturer. I'd rather listen to his lectures than watch a good TV show.
Daly is wonderful. I actually enjoyed going to class. Tests are pretty tough; 60% from class 30% from text. I didnt take it pass/fail but it's not a bad idea. The class content is interesting AND beneficial!
He was highly entertaining, going to class was almost like watching tv and the subjects that we talked about were very interesting. He also involved students as much as he could. He was very good but the tests were tricky.
One of the hardest classes I took on campus, believe it or not, but also one of the absolute best. Daly is a natural ? he's engaging, the material is fascinating and you're entertained while learning things you never thought you needed to know. But the exams are devilishly difficult. It's easy to get lulled into a thinking the class is just "fun."
LOVE THIS CLASS. Daly is a great professor and I loved going to class every day. His tests are really difficult, though, and your entire grade is based off of 2 60 point tests and one 20 point paper. I'd recommend this class to everyone, you learn a lot and it's really relevant information. It's not an easy A though so take it pass/fail if you can
Great Class. Hard Tests, Take it Pass/ Fail!
Fun class! 2 tests, 60 ?s. 2/3 lecture, 1/3 book. Go to SI sessions for the book. Test ?s are in the form of examples. Listen carefully in lectures for exs, not just definitions. There's a paper, it's simple if you keep on topic and know exs. Need 126 out of 140 for an A. Overall curve at end helps boost points. Lectures online if can't make class.
Professor Daly is a great lecturer, but his tests are extremely hard. He only has two tests, and only two extra credit points His grading policies are ridiculous and there is almost no way you can get an A, hell I'd be surprised if anyone even got an A. The lead TA Charee was very helpful but the rest of the TA's are just in the background taking up space. Charee actually worked with me and explained things in detail. I would not recommend taking this class with Daly. Save yourself the stress!
My favorite class this semester! Great professor, extremely interesting class. Charee is a fantastic TA as well. Hard though, you HAVE to read the book and it's a really good idea to go to SI. I made an A, but only because I worked my butt of for it.
I took a persuasion class from Daly nearly twenty years ago and still use what I learned from him!
This class is fantastic! Daly is captivating, informative, and comical! I learned things that are helpful in life no matter your field of study. I looked forward to class everyday. Everyone says that the tests are difficult but you can make a good grade if you make sure that you thoroughly understand the concepts!
Daly is the most Amazing lecturer at UT by far. However, the tests kicked everyone's butt. Gives you a second chance for each of the 2 tests, but the 2nd try is always harder. Most people fail. Seems like common sense, but isn't. Lectures were a BLAST!!! I looked forward to going to class everyday and learned things I can apply to my daily life.
A major perk of the class is recordings of the lectures are posted on blackboard. The exams are hard, but not impossible. You just need to go through each lectures/book and pull out key terms and memorize them. The test is multiple ch with scenarios you have to match to terms. The exam is 2/3 lecture 1/3 book. If you can, go to SI.
Daly is a great lecturer, but for me unfortunately, the class wasn't worth it. I studied my butt off but I still made a D. I went to every single lecture but the tests were impossible. I studied for the tests over all my other tests, but it made no difference. I really wish I hadn't taken this class.
The best professor I've ever had! He is so awesome and so interesting. I actually enjoyed going to class everyday. People say this class is super hard but I'd have to disagree. I made an A. As long as you put effort in and study hard and take advantage of S.I and the TA's office hour you can definitely make an A or B.
Best lectures you will ever go to, he is the best teacher I have ever had, I look forward to his class every week, funny and very entertaining. That being said the tests are very hard, killed myself studying and got Bs every time, still the tests are worth the teacher. Take his class best one at UT!
Daly is a GREAT instructor. He is funny, engaging, and he cares about his students. But, the tests are ridiculously hard for the sake of being hard. The concepts are not hard to understand, but the tests are so vague that they are almost impossible to get an A on. Unless you plan on taking pass/fail, I would skip this class.
Daly is awesome. Attendance isn't required, but it's the only class I never missed this semester because his lectures are so interesting. The information itself isn't all that hard, but you do need to study very thoroughly for his tests because they are all application-based scenarios. All the lectures are recorded and put online.
BEST professor I've ever had. Passionate, humorous, makes lectures extremely interesting. Lecture outlines (very bare) are online, so go to class to fill in notes andor go to TA sessions (extremely good reviews for tests!!) Posts audio recordings of lectures online in case you miss. Tests are a little harder, so know your terms. Paper is easy.
He is an amazing lecturer, information applicable to real life, but the exams are long and difficult, and each one carries a ton of weight because the only other grade is one short paper (aside from iClicker questions).
Wow. What an amazing class. This is the kind of professor you think of when you think of college. That amazing professor that inspires you to do great things in the world. Unfortunately, his tests are hard.. More than hard, almost impossible if you don't study or read. Attend SI sessions and GO TO CLASS! It's definitely worth it. Love this guy!
Professor Daly is AMAZING! He is funny. The tests are tough. That being said, the class is an easy B, but a difficult A. His lectures are amazing, and it's awesome to learn about what he is teaching. Grading: Midterm, Paper, Final. That's it. Go to class! I crammed the day before the midterm and final and pulled out an A in the class.
Very fun & interesting class. The tests are kind of hard, but he lets you do retests for both (only 2 tests). No Final!! there is one paper but it's easy. Very engaging professor. loved class, the tests were harder than expected.
Great lectures, and are recorded for reference. Super funny and engaging even though it's a huge class size.
Professor Daly is INCREDIBLE. Yes, the two tests are VERY difficult, but the class is so engaging and interesting and super applicable to every day life. Would 100% recommend taking, but do prepare to study for tests. When taking notes during class be sure to include the examples that he uses because the tests are all application to scenarios.
Dr. Daly is a great professor but wow are the tests hard! Since there are only two tests and one short paper (not worth a large part of the grade) you need to get an A on both tests to get an A in the class. The questions are very ambiguous & tests are all multiple choice. I attended SI every week and still struggled to get Bs on tests.
I LOVE Dr. Daly, I would recommend that everyone take his class.
Dr. Daly is an AMAZING PROFESSOR. Lectures are engaging and interesting. Didn't use the textbook bc I went to SI every week with Maddie (GREATEST TA EVER). Tests are hard but if you study the slides and re-listen to the recorded lectures, it's ok. You can also review your test with TAs to get points back. Not an easy A but worth the trouble.
Really fun class. just be sure to go to the writing center for the essay. Study for the tests he offers retests but they are just as difficult.
Dr. Daly is one of the most charismatic and caring professors I've had since I've been at UT. His lectures are VERY fun and engaging, and the workload isn't too demanding. Contrary to popular opinion, I didn't think his exams were too difficult, but I highly recommend that you do the S.I.'s and listen to his lectures.
Dr. Daly is FANTASTIC. He is an extremely funny and inspirational man, and I recommend his class to everyone. The exams are a little difficult so I recommend studying for at least a week prior to memorize all of the lists but they are doable. Also the paper was graded very toughly but it isn't worth that much. You will not regret this class.
Attendance is not mandatory but if you want to get an A you need to go. The lectures are hard to understand if you're not there physically in class. The tests are half lecture based half text book so make sure you really understand. The TAs are also super awesome as is Dr. Daly. I recommend that EVERYONE takes this class it has been my favorite.
LOVED the class, professor, and TA's. The tests are pretty challenging (hence my grade) because their 60 questions and every question is a hypothetical situation instead of being straight forward. He is incredibly kind, funny, helpful, and makes the class fun. Just study for the tests, attend S.I. sessions/class and you're set.
I loved professor Daly like I wish he could be my dad lol!! He gives a lot of personal stories and examples which makes the concepts easier to understand. The concepts are all so relevant life!! While the material is deceptively easy, you really should study for the tests hardcorore. GO TO SI SESSIONS SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY THE TEXT BOOK.
Loved this class. Best way to succeed is to attend SI sessions and for the tests make lists of all the concepts. There are distractor terms on the test and if you familiarize yourself with the vocabulary it's pretty easy to figure out the correct answer. Also GO TO CLASS I know you can listen online but he's an amazing and fascinating speaker.
Dr. Daly is a great professor, difficult test-wise so study ahead! You have two tests and a paper to make your grade, make them count. Hes funny and makes the material relatable to life, both good and bad because gives the tests and illusion of extreme easiness. Go to SI sessions and memorize keywords.
Dr. Daly is one of the best lecturers I've ever had. He is super entertaining and while attendance is optional, his personality made me want to go to class. Your grade is made up of one easy paper and two tests, but the tests are pretty tough. With that being said I got a B on both of them by essentially just cramming the night before.
Amazing lectures, one of the best classes I've ever had! All the people who are saying the tests are hard simply did not study for them or take good notes. I got an A+ on both tests by spending a few hours rewriting my lecture and SI notes and then studying those for about 2 hours and the tests were super easy. Go to SI sessions and go to class
Awesome class. I probably went a total of 5 times the entire semester. There are 2 exams, 2 retakes (he drops the lowest midterm and final) and a short paper due. He posts lecture notes and recordings! There's a curve at the end of the semester too. There are a ton of google docs and SI notes on fb with all the notes for the semester. Easy A!
Daly is great, and the class is super easy and interesting. I rarely went to class since his lecture recordings are posted online. Made high A's on both tests and the paper with very minimal studying. Highly recommend!
The best professor at UT. Cutest old man who is so nice and definitely cares about what he teaches. The tests were really hard and over a lot of material, but the class is literally so interesting that is was honestly fun studying for the tests. There's a really easy paper that boosts people's grades.
Best class I've taken at UT!! The stuff you learn is so interesting and cool that studying really isn't that bad. Lectures aren't mandatory and he posts recordings online, but I usually ended up going anyway because he's such a great professor. You will not regret taking this class!
Super fun, interesting and engaging but don't forget to read the book! It is a very important part of the tests but there are supplemental SI sessions where the TA's go over the chapters. There are only two tests but there is a makeup for both and they take the higher grade of the two!!
Dr. Daly is really passionate, knowledgable, and charismatic. He does the teaching, and the TAs do all the test-making, grading, and the SI. It's not a rigorous class. I never read the book, but went to every SI, and got an A. There's a paper that's 15% of the grade. There's a final and a midterm. Very difficult, but you'll get an A if you study!
TAKE JOHN DALY. He is my favorite professor at UT thus far and this class will not disappoint. His lectures were so interesting that I never wanted to miss class. Don't underestimate those tests; study in advance. Tests can be tough, but the class is just too good to pass up. Hilarious, relevant, and stellar lectures.
Loved his lectures, they were very interesting. Attendance not mandatory. Material is easy, papers graded easily, but the tests are somewhat difficult, with lots of distractors. You have to read the book and know every term inside and out. Didn't go to SI but heard that it was helpful. I ended up making an A because they curved the class.
Honestly such a great professor. This has been one of my favorite classes yet!
LOVED HIM. My own fault I got a horrible grade (bad mental health semester and skipped a lot) but he was an amazing lecturer who really cared about what he was talking about and his students. Definitely take him!! And don't skip class and attend the extra sessions! Read! And always feel free to ask for help (don't be like me basically!) :))
Dr. Daly is by far one of the most engaging and warmhearted professors I have ever had. His lectures are not required, but I wanted to show up to class every day just to hear him lecture. I found the exams to be pretty challenging, and there are two, each with a retest. I'd recommend taking thorough notes with examples and going to the SI sessions.
Lectures can be pretty entertaining, I was confronted with a lot of things I agreed with and disagreed with so it made me think and form my own opinions. I don't know if I'd recommend taking it for a grade unless you're a comm major, tests are pretty difficult (don't even try to cram). focus on memorizing the terms. Easy paper to boost grade.
This will be one of the most fun classes you'll take throughout your college career. Daly is so kind and funny. Your grade is determined by two exams and a paper. DO NOT procrastinate, or you will struggle on the exams. The key is so study consistently throughout the semester. Good luck!
Although this class has a lot of material, I would recommend it to anyone. His lectures are AMAZING, and if you go to SI sessions you don't really even need the textbook.
My advisers told me this guy was the bomb! Until I took his class... He's honestly a great lecturer. But with only 3 assignments going into your grade, its really hard to gauge your progress. His tests aim to confuse you rather than test your knowledge. Be prepared to memorize hundreds of definitions if you want an A. SI is essential to passing.
John Daly is an amazing professor! I enjoyed every lecture and didn't want to miss a single one. Your grade is made up of 2 tests and a paper. The tests are pretty difficult but if you study and go to SI you will be good. There was also a 4 point curve at the end of the class that brought your grade up. Also, no plus minus for this class.
I love him. I love him so much that I declared communication my minor. I highly recommend this class to EVERYONE. Pay attention in lectures (easy, he's funny) and do the readings and you'll be fine. He is so caring and the TA's were pretty fun too.
Loved this class! Prof Daly is hilarious and his lectures are entertaining (although he does talk very fast so he sometimes gets hard to understand). Only 3 grades (2 tests, 1 paper) so make sure to study for the tests as they can be challenging. I never read the text book but the SI session helped me understand everything I needed to know. 10/10!!
Dr. Daly is an amazing lecturer. They are never boring and always makes jokes. There are only 2 exams and 1 paper for the class. You MUST read the book in order to pass exams. The SI sessions held by TAs are helpful. This is NOT an easy A course.
In this class, there is 2 tests and a paper. BUT, the two tests can be re-taken which saved me. The class is VERY lecture heavy, and the textbook is never discussed. There are SI sessions to learn about the textbook which were very helpful. The tests are hard so a lot of effort needs to go into studying. Loved this class, just made me work for an A
Prof Daly is without a doubt one of the greatest professors at UT. He makes lectures so fun and interesting. The tests are pretty difficult but not impossible... you have to work for an A but it was sooo worth it.
Professor John Daly is the best professor anyone could ask for at the University of Texas. If you miss his interpersonal communications class, you will only experience the personal consequence of missing crucial information taught in a very clear and understanding way that will help you with your life skills later on, nothing else. He is amazing
He's very charismatic. Take the class if you get the chance. If you know the terms you'll do fine on the test.
This class is super fun and professor Daly makes the lectures really interesting. He's incredibly personable, and you'll definitely get good things out of this class. The tests are based a lot on the textbook, so make sure you go to the SI sessions/read/get notes from someone.
Prof Daly is one of the best professors I have ever had. His lectures were amazing & posted online. He is very understanding of challenges that individual students may have. The TA's were awesome. Your grade is basically just 2 tests but you are allowed a retake for both which helps with some test anxiety. I truly learned a lot from this course.
I really loved my experience in this class. Dr. Daly is a great professor who gives some really good lectures as well. The paper saved me at the end b/c it was a really easy grade booster. The tests can be difficult if you aren't used to situational based ?s but if you go to SIs and really know your terms/find the distractors you will be good.
Dr. Daly's lectures were amazing and funny. The information is relevant and you can apply it to your life. This was the best class I have taken!
Super engaging and enjoyable class! Dr. Daly is hilarious, fun to listen to, and an amazing lecturer. His lectures are pretty dense though. Super fun communication class, but take notes and 100% go to the SI sessions if you want to do well on the tests. would definitely take again
Super engaging and enjoyable class! Dr. Daly is hilarious and fun to listen to, his lectures are pretty dense though. Super fun communication class, but take notes and 100% go to the SI sessions if you want to do well on the tests. would definitely take again.
Dr. Daly's lectures were amazing and kept the class very interesting, there was only three tests and a paper so the tests were weighted very heavily. The paper was not given much feedback after grading. Tests pull questions from both the lectures and the textbook so even though attendance isn't mandatory, it is necessary to listen to them.
Dr Daly is a great lecturer and each time he talks you are sucked in. Only graded on a couple tests and a paper. You will pass as long as you take notes in class, read the textbook, go to the SI sessions, and study the material a day or two in advance.
This class is so great, but if you don't go to SI have fun failing. Little work but tests are hard. Also don't sit in the front if you can't take a joke. The TA Carly does like all the work, she a little scary but shes super cool. Daly is such a good lecturer going to class is not a chore at all. The tests are pretty hard tho so make sure you prep.
Dr. Daly is a very entertaining and personable professor. The class only had 2 tests and a paper that it was graded on, so take them seriously. Also, you need to go to the SI sessions in order to pass the tests. I took this class when classes were moved online due to the pandemic, and I think they did a really good job of transitioning online.
Amazing professor and lectures were so interesting to attend. Theres only 2 exams but they allow for a retest on both and take the highest grade. Exams are tough if you dont pay attention or read the textbook. Theres also one major paper so take that serious since the class isnt a +/- course.
Dr. Daly is awesome. His lectures are super engaging. One note: go to the SI sessions, they go over textbook material (textbook makes up 25% of the exams). The exams were manageable and open book and the paper wasn't hard. This was a fun class, easy pass.
He is extremely engaging and the content is relevant and interesting. I took this class during COVID times and the tests are all open notes. Not a time consuming class. Go to SI or use textbook to fill out SI sheet yourself.
Dr. Daly is truly a fantastic lecturer. Lectures are interesting and exam questions come mostly from lectures with some from the textbook. SI sheets go over exactly what you need from the textbook and the one essay assignment is very straightforward. This class is graded by 3 things, but Dr. Daly and the TAs are very helpful--take this class!
This was taken as part of the Archer Fellowship Program. Daly's class had to do with how to be a successful advocate. We studied how to best use PowerPoints, how to successfully set up meetings, what to wear during internships. It was all very common sense. 2 group papers which we had to interview people in DC. Daly is a kind man, a bit old fashion
He's such a funny sweetie one. Learned so much from him. Kinda hard if you don't go to all the lectures which is easy to do when online, but if you do what you're supposed to it isn't that hard. Just take detailed notes! A lot of times it sounds like hes just talking but its actually info you should write down so just know that
Dr. Daly is awesome! Although I took his class online, I enjoyed the lectures because he made them interactive by the polls and the chat.
Dr. Daly was a great lecturer! He really engaged his students and encouraged participation. The only downside with this class is that it is very test-heavy (only 1 paper and 2 exams make your grade) so be sure to review the textbook chapters and notes or you will not do well.
One of my favorite classes ever and Dr. Daly is kind. Such an interesting class, super chill and TA's are sweet too. Take good lecture notes and go to SI sessions and you'll do great in the class. SI replaced having to read the textbook. Only 3 grades but you get to redo the exams and we got a bit of extra credit. He is super engaging.
this class is a gem! Daly is a great lecturer, they are interesting and engaging. attendance isnt required but its a fun class . the course is test heavy, meaning your grade is based on only 3 test. you might this the answers are obviously but it is class specfic so you have to pay attention at least a little bit. but its a good class 10/10
Worst professor I had at UT and at the Archer Fellowship. 8-hour classes of him droning on for several weekends across the semester. Insensitive, inappropriate, rambling, and thoughtless comments aplenty. Outdated + unhelpful advice for life in D.C The Archer Center needs to listen to student complaints. Their reputation is suffering bc of it.
Daly talks fast, but he is engaging. The tests were a bit harder than expected and you have to read/work quickly, but an A is doable. You must attend SI to make a good grade. Organized notes are key to success in this class. Overall not too difficult, and the workload is incredibly light with 2 tests and 1 short paper. 2 points of extra credit.
Professor Daly gave amazing and interesting lectures. If you are looking to take a CMS course, this is the one. The class was very easy but the exams had tricky questions so make sure you study. The coursework consists of 2 exams and 1 paper. Take this class if you can. I really enjoyed it.
Not a hard class but you need good, organized notes to pass. There are only three grades in this class: two open book, open note tests (midterm & final) and a paper. 20 of the 60 questions on the tests come from the textbook so you will need to read it. There were two extra credit opportunities for one point each.
Literally the best professor I've ever had. You will learn so much. Don't be surprised when you see textbook material on the midterms-- make sure to read it. On the essay, if you dislike your grade, talk to your TA's and they will likely raise it (show your communication skills). I can't wait to take him again.
Take this class!!! One of the best classes I have taken at UT, Prof. Daly is super engaging and charismatic. Course content is very interesting and applicable. Exams were on the harder side since it is only the midterm, final and one paper but they let you take two and keep the higher score. Need to listen to lectures to do well on exams.
Very sweet guy. Comes in with so much energy, you just can't be mad at him. Did this class change how I see the world in even a single way? No. But coming to class was like a Netflix show, always entertaining and a good escape. Some things made sense, but mostly not. Take notes, look at textbook for tests. There are retests.
I absolutely loved professor Daly and his class. He always came in with a great attitude and you can tell he has genuine love for his work and students. There is only a midterm, final, and a paper for the whole semester so it's important to do well on these but there are retests. Overall I looked forward to attending this class and would take again
If you have the opportunity, take this class! The course material is interesting and his way of lecturing makes it so much better. Getting the chance to meet this professor is one you should take, and what you learn helps you throughout life. Tests can be difficult if you do not study!
Daly was an amazing Professor. He cares for his students. The lectures were always enjoyable, but while they are fun, remember to take notes. Often the stories went along with a point. The class is graded by few things, so you have to do well on everything. SI sessions are helpful for book material not covered in class.
Dr. Daly is a great professor! His lectures are interesting and fun to listen to. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you want to make an A in the class, you should definitely go and take good notes because the exams are on the harder side. Go to SI sessions for chapter reviews. The TAs are also really nice!
Amazing professor and it is hard not to enjoy his class. There are only a three assignments so that grade that you will get will have much impact on the final grade, but this class was great!
I loved Dr. Daly's class! I would definitely recommend this interpersonal comm over any other elective/course requirement, the lectures are interesting so class always went by fast. If you take detailed notes (write down examples he gives) then you will get an A for sure
Professor Daly was an amazing professor and lecturer. Attendance isn't mandatory but I went because I loved to hear him talk. Completely enjoyed his lectures and they are recorded if you have to miss a class. Class is graded by 3 major assignments over the whole semester but if you pay attention and study a bit, should be a breeze.
Loved this class and professor Daly! The lectures are very engaging and fun. My only complaint is that your overall grade is only comprised of 3 things (two exams and an essay). Regardless, its a very fun class and I would take it again,
Dr. Daly is an incredible professor. He might be my favorite one I've ever had and CMS315M was interesting. There is a textbook you need to read alongside lectures. His lectures are fun and he is passionate however there are only 3 grades: midterm, 1 paper, final. Pay attention and read = you'll be fine.
I loved Daly. He was one of these sweetest professors I have had at UT, and he truly does care about each and every one of his students. The only thing I would say about this class is that it has only two tests and a paper and that is it. So, if you don't do too well on the tests you are kinda screwed. There is a textbook, but I did not read it.
Lectures were really good but there's barely anything said that helps understands the slide notes at ALL. Attempting to study the slides is useless you HAVE to take detailed notes & look up things on your own. Textbook is really helpful but only about 10 questions on the exams are part of it. Paper was easy.
Great course
I found the lectures to be very boring. The topics sounded interesting but they would often be long lists of obvious facts about communication. VERY few assignments means you have to be careful with each one; as for the exams they are open note and the slides are available on canvas. The textbook material is more interesting but hardly relevant.
Take this class! The lectures are very entertaining and humorous. He often calls on students, has fun activities, and generally creates a fun environment in the lecture hall. There is no homework and the online exams are open-book. You also learn incredibly valuable life skills. he's been here for a long time and knows what he's doing.
This class was very easy-- however, it is graded on three things so it's important to do well on every assignment/ test. There's two tests and one paper-- the TA's grade the paper pretty graciously. In order to do well, you definitely need to go to the lectures, but Daly makes every lecture really engaging and fun. Definitely a fun class to take!
Professor Daly is an amazing lecturer who keeps you engaged while explaining content clearly. His class is enjoyable, but his tests are heavily graded. You'll have a midterm, a paper, and a final. I highly recommend completing the SI Sheets posted on Canvas and taking detailed notes during each lecture, including examples, to succeed.
Professor Daly's class is engaging, with entertaining lectures that don't always connect directly to the material. While the textbook and notes are crucial, tools like Unstuckstudy can make studying more efficient. Attend class, take organized notes, and you'll do well.
DR DALY IS THE GOAT!!! Great lectures and cares about his students. He's a little traditional (long lectures, few assignments) but super engaging and loves what he teaches. I recommend him to everyone!
loveee this class and prof daly. as long as u go to class, u are fine. and class is super fun, he's great and a hilarious lecturer. there's only two tests and a paper, both of which are super doable. u can also retake both tests and they give u the higher grade of either. this class is so fun and u learn stuff applicable to the real world, take it!
I don't think there will ever be a prof like him. HE IS AURA. ABSOLUTE GOAT. I did bad in this class because I didn't take the best notes BUT this class is VERY easy if you just get the examples you will do good in this class. PLUS the lectures are so interesting.
