His study sheets are very helpful for preparing for the test.
the best professor everrrrrrr...was easy and helpful..if u do pretty good on all the test, and study from the worksheet he gives you, you can get an A!!
He's reasonable. Not an easy class.
This guy is great. Study everything on his handouts and you'll do great. He gives reviews that help great with his tests. If you have a sense of humor like me, you'll love him. Don't take what he says seriously he loves to joke.
He is excellent. At first going into his class gives one a bit anxiety because he was in the military and has only boy children. However, he gives you hand outs that help you and all 30 answers will be on his 50 question test. If you don't pass it is because one didn't want to.
Lets just put it this way- forforbid i get him for 110. he makes you type up the labs and never takes points off for the actual anatomy concepts but rathe rfor the introduction. im sorry but im not in this class for an english lesson. His humor isnt humorous its actually very arrogant and unecessary. DROP AND ADD if you get him...
Knowing how he is, he probably will never even read this but for everyone who does, he's nothing short of amazing. My Bio109 teacher was good but when I got this guy for 110 I realized my 109 teacher was nothing compared to this. He forces you to learn the material and you end up enjoying it at the same time. He helps spark your interest. Awesome!
I have to say he is one of the better professors you can get for 109/110. He gives out worksheets before every chapter, and goes over them with the class. For tests, he gives out a worksheet, do it and study it. The 30 questions on the sheet will be on the test. Very fair and honest professor. Made BIOL 110 very fun to learn.
Out of every bio teacher you can get-- hes one of the best. helpful? eh. not so much but he rly loves to teach and he loves to tach anatomy. his worksheet in the test- so study it... and the question in the back of the chapter are the test also.. .SO basically u have the test right there.... memorize--- hes great
A very good professor for those who study. The lab exams are not that hard, because he gives only the stuff that he covers in class. The lectures are not that bad either. He givesthe worksheet before every test with the 30 questions, which are on the 50 guestion test,it really helps!!!!
Not helpfull, lazy, useless homework for the labs
d'anjou was a pretty cool teacher. just study hard, and STUDY his study guides because they will be on the test. do his extra credit, and make sure u do good on da lab exams, you're sure to pass. we hardly used the text book because he gave hand outs.. that pretty much told u EVERYTHIG
hard, but he gives out 30 out of 50 questions from the test to study so cant complain. i was in for a shock nonetheless!! if u wun an easy grade, dis is nto the guy, but if u have da desire to learn n work ur ass off, go for it.
He is a nice man but the worst teacher i ever had.. he only gives 50 questions on a test but when i studied for a accuimulative of 20 hours i only got a 70... not a good professor
VERY NICE PERSON.. BUT I'LL JUST SAY, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS IN THE SUMMER!
This Professor was definitely not my favorite when it came to his grading techniqus. His test were difficult and require lots of studying. I recommend reading the chapters thouroughly and studying his handouts and you should do fine...Be sure to turn in all of your Lab Reports and make them flawless because he takes off points. GOOD LUCK!!
Class is ok. He is not very helpful and is not very clear in what he expects from you. Do the worksheets and the chapter review questions, you should be ok with that.
The course itself is a hard course, there is a lot of info to learn, but as a professor I thought he was fine. He gave note outlines to go along with the lecture. If you think you can use just the notes and not read the text, you shouldn't be in this class (or maybe college). IOW, yes you have to read and study on your own to do well.
I didn't pass this class because of certain personal circumstances but this is a very good professor. He is a little on the tough side compared to the teacher I took after him but overall he's a good teacher; he gives a lot of notes and reviews. You will gain a lot of information in his class:)
he is one of the best teaachers ever..i dont know y people aid bad stuff about him i guess they are just lazyy...he helps u alot and gives extra xredit,,his lab exams are extremly easy but watch out for spelling!..his lecture is some wat chalenging but not for who studie...hes funnyyy just dont pa attention to him wen he makes smart commentss...
one of my favorite professors in ccp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..he is definaty not easy but he gives uextra credit and the lab assignments are peice of cake and so is the lab test!!!..take him and u will pass with AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
He is an old man who only has one mind track. You have to really follow his guide lines. He will give some study hints or guides for his test, only for lab and it isn't very helpful, like 200 vocb words to study and only 10 on the lab test. Test are very very hard, studying out of the book wont help..study all the fil in the blanks sheets instead.
I must have been out of my mind taking this class over a crammed summer course! You need to study very, very hard to pass this class. His exams are really tough. I never studied so hard for a "B" in my life! As a person, I thought he was cool, but he is a bit of a control freak. Study hard. Read the text. Avoid crammed summer course if possible!
This asst. professor needs to retire. He reads the material from a powerpoint presentation! When you ask him a question in regards to preping for test: study. He said: study handouts and textbook. Tells too many inclass jokes! Doesnt teach material on a COMPREHENSIVE levl! GIVES FALSE SENSE OF HOPE TO STUDENTS WITH prcls tsts extra crdt pts!
C'mon people! I just had Professor for 109 this summer. Provided you come to class and study at home, you will not only pass, you'll do really well. In terms of his tests, if you study the handouts he gives in class, you'll do great! I get the feeling people complaining on here about his summer class simply weren't prepared.
I had this prof for sum 1 and I do not know why people are give him bad feedback because all you have to do is study the handouts. Yes for the lab he give out over 200 word to study, but it not that bad! It does not matter who you take this class with it is a hard class! I will take him for biol 110 because he gives you xcredit!!
I just had this professor for Bil 109 in the shortened summer session. I wouldn't call this class easy, but if you study the handouts he gives in class you should do fine. He doesn't make the tests easy because he wants you to learn, but he gives lots of extra credit. I thought he was great!
I think he's a good professor, yeah he has a "different" kind of humor but it is what it is. Like other have said before me A&P is a difficult class but if you take the time to DO the work i.e study, you should be fine. I did just that and got an A.
you must study every detail in the book, he tests you on everything.you must work really hard in order to pass with a good grade
He was a great teacher. Witty, entertaining and smart. Set in his ways about how to handle lab assignments. Great teacher...offers extra credit!!!
I had D'Anjou for during the Summer II (July/August 2009) He was very helpful. Although, he has an accent, I got used to it. If you study and read his notes, you will do well. He offers extra credit (2 points for every class that you show up). He also offered take-home tests and pre-tests. The pre-tests are also extra credit. He's a good professor!
he is a a a HoT!!!!!!!!!!
I did not enjoy his class. If you like to gamble with your GPA he's the teacher for you. Unpredictable, moody and unfair. Don't expect to see your tests, you get your grades and that's it.
He should not be teaching nursing students! He's unfare.Try someone else.
He's horrible
Mr. D'Anjou is a bit of a nutjob but he grew on me. He is a grumpy old man and he will be the first one to admit. But he GIVES you many of his test questions in class. If you attend regularly, pay attention, and study, there is no reason why you can't do well. You must follow his rules to the T and he can really go off on tangents but he is fair.
Easy "A" test come directly from the in class questions. Extra for just showing up for class. Has a very odd sense of humor but I found it very funny most students were offended.
I had him for AP Biology part 2 which is bio 110. He is the worst biology teacher you can come across at ccp. He teaches by slide shows then the material is not even on the test so your sitting like what the (blank). In lab he would be with us for a couple of minutes then leave also he wants labs to be only 3 words DONT TAKE HIM DROP AND RUN..
One of the worst teachers I've ever encountered. Rude, rambling & confrontational. Reported him for verbal assault. I asked to finish writing up my lab assignment & he started yelling & screaming that he wanted to leave. Tried to shove me out of the lab. Uncool and extremely unprofessional. Dropped his class & got an A with Prof. Littman.
Worst teacher I have had at CCP. Rude, demanding and treats students as if they were retarded children. I plan on reporting him to the department head at semesters end he is that bad. I love biology but dread attending his class.
THE BEST! forget all the hasty comments below. If You STUDY and PAY attention, you'll leave that class with a plethora of knowledge! AMAZING! not to mention he GIVES you ALL the questions that will be on the test. just worded differently to insure understanding of material. Competent people will have no problem with this class.
He was an excellent teacher! Having read all the good and mostly bad comments about him prior to taking the course, I was scared. He was very helpful. Definitely study his focus questions, and take notes in addition to the lecture notes provided. Labs are cake. If your class as a whole is respectful towards him, he will take very good care of you
I took D'Anjou's class this summer. He's a good professor. However he is not very punctual. He gives extra credit for attending class (great +). Labs are easy if you follow everything he says. The final lab is tough but you'll learn a lot from it. If you want a A answer all the review questions and study them. They are an exact copy of the exam.
All he does is teach with PowerPoint and gives u handouts he's pretty easy and his text are 100% easy!! Biology suppose to be tuff and u suppose to learn well I didn't learn anything all I did was study tye focus question for the test he gives us. For the final well I don't know what to expect basically u on ur own.
Good teacher, learned a lot. Class was not hard at all. he gives a good amount of extra credit. Practically gives you everything needed for lab and lecture exams. Just study handouts, get to class on time and you should earn a B if not an A.
Needs a better way of teaching. I can tell he's interested in teaching and he enjoys the subject but he isn't so great teaching. Expects you to just know the subject on your own which if that was possible, he wouldn't have a job.
This guy is so wrong on so many levels! Doesn't know how to teach!
You get 2 extra credit points if you attend every class (even if you sleep). If you want an A, his reviews are EXACTLY what's on the exams. Although, you do have to find out the answers yourself, he won't go over them with you. His labs are straight forward and easy if you follow his directions. Got an A+
D'Anjou enjoys being around students, he unfortunately can be lazy and if you don't answer to what he expects even if it is correct you get it wrong. USE THE STUDY GUIDES! If you follow his study guides you will do excellently on the tests if you don't expect 60's or worse.
I love him as a professor. His instructions are very clear and he is very helpful. Highly recommended.
He enjoys teaching and has many stories to lighten up the mood but he sometimes gets carried away. He likes to take his time with everything. Be short and concise for your answers or risk getting penalized. Use the study guides and make time to study the subject and you should do well.
Terrible.Reads off a Powerpoint outline without elaborating or explaining.I got an A in this class without learning a thing bc he hands out a study guide w/all the test questions beforehand. Not complaining about my A, but I paid time and money to LEARN.
Terrible.Reads off a Powerpoint outline without explaining.I didnt really learn a thing. he hands out a study guide w/all the test questions beforehand. So you know it for the test but not for long term.
Pretty straight forward with everything. Study guides are a huge help. He's funny and enjoys the subject but didn't explain things well. Had to go home and do a lot of reading/youtube. Fair grading but still not an easy course.
He is very funny so I appreciated that. He was also helpful when I sought his help outside of class. His exams are pretty much straight from the study guide so make sure to study those. He was a little too laid back for my taste and was not always on top of telling us exact dates for exams and returning grades. Do exactly what he says for the labs
I took this class in the summer worked hard and recieved an A. its what you make of it. I feel people on here are harsh.. Read the textbook study and you will get a good grade.
took his class in a 15 weeks course. received an A but didn't learn anything. he hands out a study guide. the exam is 90% straight copy pasted from the study guide. he will trick you like in 4 or 5 question in each exams. for lab, write exactly and lemme repeat, exactly what he say for the lab report or he will tai doff point. Good luck
D'Anjou wants students to learn and do well. Expects you to work for your grade. People on here are very hard on him,he's a nice man. He has a unique sense of humor but overall he is fair, would take again.
Doesn't pace the class well; spends too much time on material in the beginning of the semester, then exams pile up like a carwreck at the end. First few tests are very difficult to weed out the slackers (don't believe anyone who says they are an exact copy of the study guide). Later tests are much easier and closer to study guides.
Gives a study guide for test. Gives extra credit for attending all classes. I bombed two test and still passed with a B. Ace the labs, come to class and you will pass.
Horrible professor. Doesn't really teach in class. Barely on time for his classes. On the final, i can say 80% of it he didn't teach in class. Wouldn't take another class from him.
He gives you a study quite which is almost identical to the test besides a few questions. Would not recommend cheating he gives out 4 diff test on test day
Lives life in slow motion and expects you to do that as well. Gives study guide, test questions come right off study guide with a couple added ones. Good to take if you just care about the grade and not actually learning. He can be funny at times, but goes really very slow which is quite annoying
Pretty Easy A if you do all the lab assignments and pass the test etc. his test aren't hard and he gives study guides that mirror the test. You won't really learn anything in class though cause his lectures is just him reading off his powerpoint.
Hilarious. 4 exams, study guide prior to each that the exam mirrors. took it in the summer over 7 weeks and got an A. lectures are dry, but if you don't miss a class he gives 40 extra credit points, -2 for late, -4 for absent. Needed this class for nursing, he's easy to take if you have a heavy school load elsewhere.
If you want to learn micro don't take a chance to take him. he just read the power point without explanation. Please avoid him, his labs exams are worse than lecture exams.
Teacher talks alot about topics that has noyhing to do with the bio class. He reads everything he gives you. And doesnt know if we should or need to use the access codes
He is kind of unorganized. His lectures are ok,but our lab was never ready. We often spent the 1st half of lab getting our equipment. He has an outline for everything, it is very helpful, just wished he was more organized. He's always late to his am class. He didn't give lab reports back until the end so we didn't know what mistakes we made if any.
He's extremely unorganized and can be extremely rude at times! He's not clear on what he's teaching and is never prepared for class, every lab started 20 mins late. Exams are fair but review the handouts that he provides you'll do well on your exams. He's always late on exam day and rearranges the seats like you're in prison or boot camp!AVOID him!
He is a horribly, horribly rude person and terrible professor. If he "doesn't like you" (yes, I can quote him on that), he absolutely WILL single you out and make you feel very uncomfortable like he did to me and others. Many other students have complained about him but don't expect to have anything to happen, ever. Avoid avoid avoid.
I would NOT recommend anyone to take his class! He is unorganized, does not let you see your test after exams. You see your grade on canvas an thats it. At the end of the semester he crammed 4 exams in 2 weeks! It is very obvious he does not enjoy teaching anymore. Lectures are very boring, you are better off learning the material on your own.
I loved this professor! He wasn't always clear in lab but he wanted his reports as simple as possible which was easy for me. You get a packet for each chapter which is exactly what's on the exams sometimes a bit different but just study those packets and you'll pass. Failed 2 exams and passed 2. No extra credit.
DO NOT take this professor. He is rude, unavailable after class, never gives straight answers to questions, makes misogynistic comments, does not know how to teach, and never offers clarification. He will not let you see old exams to review questions you got wrong, is always late/unprepared, and you learn NOTHING in lab. By far worst professor EVER
If you can't learn things on your own or independently, don't take him. But if you are a self learner and you study, this guy is a great teacher. Tells great stories that go in correlation with the lesson and is a true scientist. I recommend for people who will study the packets.
Won't take him ever again for a professor. Horrible at teaching, Lecture and lab exams are hard. He doesn't further explain his lectures, what you see and hear from him is what you get. You basically teach yourself.
Worst professor I have taken in my entire college career thus far. Squeezed 6 chapters in 2 days & gave us 5 back to back exams (lab & lecture exams). Goes off topic a lot & only reads off the slides.
Poor diction and enunciation. Can not understand him. Continuous "off topic" talk. You have to teach yourself. I do not recommend him.
He does not care if youre learning. He doesnt answer questions but instead gives remarks like I dont know why dont you look it up. His labs are awful, extremely unorganized. He literally takes almost 20 mins to hand out 1 sheet of paper. He is always late for lab. He does not explain anything in lecture. He does not care!
He gives packets and reads them verbatim. He wastes a lot of class time; he shows up late and just sits around, or shows up on time and talks about himself. His packets do not prepare you for his tests; you must study independently. Most students do poorly on his tests. He does not care about his students and casually jokes about "when we fail"
I thought the professor was OK He wasn't always clear in lab but he wanted his reports as simple as possible AND i SIMPLE which was FINE by me. You get a packet for each chapter , just study those packets and you'll pass/be fine. Lab midterm and final were pretty simple I did OK on them even though I thought I was prepared .No extra credit.
Class is boring b/c he reads 'his' outline notes verbatim. He gives you questions that are in the notes. If you google them and find time on easynotecards/quizlet you can find the exact test questions. Find the user 'Lazybones'. Made the course very easy, however I didn't feel I learned as much as I would if the professor was more prepared.
If you like misogyny, word for word readings of a powerpoint not actually made by the professor and exams that are lifted directly from the powerpoint, then this is the class of your dreams. Otherwise, keep it moving. These reviews are spot on for this Professor, by no means an exaggeration.
He's a really great professor! I had him for 109 and 110 now im taking him for micro. He gives power point slides that have questions that will 9/10 be on the test! Labs are easy as well
he's really not a bad professor. once you get over his personality you'll be okay. he grades fair for the most part.
This man is hilarious. Lectures are a bit dry and he doesn't explain concepts in the most effective way, but if you read the book, you'll be fine. Each chapter you'll get questions, and he goes over the answers in lecture - these basically make up his tests. You can see exams during office hours. Labs are super easy, just do exactly what he says.
This class was not bad .Exams were very easy, his lectures are exactly like his exams . His lab was easy , he tells you exactly how he wants the lab reports completed . Just ignored how rude he can be , and will do fine. He has a very dry sense of humor . But overall , not a bad course . I would take him again .
He's very straight forward with the lectures and exams. Exams are easy and very fair with grading. He jokes a lot and can be rude at times but it's not that bad. I'm taking him again for microbiology.
He is not a bad professor at all besides his rudeness at times. If you're looking for a micro class to get an easy A in, choose him. His lectures are EXACTLY what the tests are, his labs are very simple, he's very straight forward with everything that he gives out! I plan on taking him for BIO 110 as well
You definitely want to take Professor D'Anjou for Bio 109 online or on campus, he's a great teacher! His study guides are the quizzes!! He just wants you to do the work! He gives a quiz for every chapter you study and 4 exams, 2 lab exams and the final. He has zoom meeting Tuesday and Thursdays so you can ask about the Labs you didn't understand.
D'Anjou is the WORST teacher I have EVER had! The fact that he has ratings higher than 1 star make me think that he had family or friends post fake reviews. This man does not help you, does not respond to you, and if you ask a question on live zoom he will be demeaning & say things like, "this is basic elementary that you should've learned"
I really do not recommend taking professor him. He doesn't teach, just reads the powerpoint & gives the wrong answers. He is unprepared and avoids answering questions from students about content. He takes his quiz questions from the book but you have to teach yourself. He falls asleep sometimes. Labs are so disorganized. He's also misogynistic.
This class was AWFUL. He never uploads assignments, quizzes, and or tests. At this point, it is the end of the semester and I have taken ONE TEST. He is now uploading all of the course assignments for us to complete in less than a week due to the fact he did not do his job.
Professor is not computer/internet savvy. A LOT of class time wasted on issues regarding Canvas. Was rarely prepared for class and often late. Did not clearly communicate via Canvas about assignments/due dates for things. Everything felt v disorganized all the time- a nightmare for the neurodivergent learner. Passing class was like pulling teeth.
This professor acts very slow during class. He moves around slow and talks slow and quiet so you can barely hear him. I try to give him the benefit of the doubt because hes older. But hes not tech savvy at all so we waste the first half hour of class watching him try to set up. Hes also always incorrectly posting assignments to canvas. Frustrating
Professor D'Anjou is absolutely horrible. He can't teach, you have to teach yourself, he gets mad at you when he makes a mistake that isn't your fault. He is stubborn He just gives power points and makes you read your book on your own. There is no other work besides labs, quizzes, and tests, so therefore you must do well on everything.
I am exiting this class with the same amount of knowledge as when I entered - not much. He gives all tests/quizzes online and if you think you can google the answers - YOU ARE WRONG - he can see when you leave the test page. Labs are disorganized. Will not answer questions and is not in his office during his office hours. Do. Not. Do. It.
Professor D'anjou is falling behind with the times. He has no technological aptitude and no written curriculum. He spends most lectures talking about off-topic things, like his upbringing in Guyana. Never understands the questions students ask and is high-key bigoted. I'd rather be taught by an eggplant. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Professor John is just read the PowerPoints and that's it. Professor John do not do any activity in the class all he does is give quizzes and test. Get ready to read the book on your own.
he doesn't explain well, and he makes you work alone.
Actually the worst teacher I've had in my entire life, and I'm a self driven optimist who sets up study groups and I have a 3.92GPA total. He has no place being a teacher, and is incredibly un-helpful. He spends the entire lecture talking about nonsense, wasting hours of time, and he makes lecture attendance mandatory. I changed teachers ASAP.
Powerpoints are terrible and lacking information, formatted incorrectly. Usually only 3 sentences per slide. no real information given in lab. Benefit being u can generally find questions to the quizzes and exams at the end of chapters in the textbook. Not impossible to pass, I have an A no help from him though. Save yourself the trouble seriously.
This has been the worst professor I have ever taken. You have to rely completely on yourself because he does not teach. He takes the lecture time reading slides off of a board and has an issue answering questions when asked. The department head was no help. Save yourself the stress and pick a new teacher
