Easy professor but hard exam. EXAMS ARE TOO HARD, 70-80 is "A" in his class. Really tough guy.
Great teacher. but takes no nonsense- over 70 is an A.. but if you do the reviews it should be easy as hell to get an A. No complicated math, and only about 4 basic formulas.
exams are exactly like reviews, straightforward, explains examples good overall teacher
THIS CLASS IS REALLY TOUGH, BUT IF THIS GUY SEES YOU TRYING HE WILL GIVE YOU AN "A", JUST GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS AND TELL HIM HOW MUCH YOUR STRUGGLING WITH THE MATERIAL. BUT IF HE DOESN'T LIKE YOU, IF YOU TALK TOO MUCH DURING CLASS-HE WILL FAIL
Watch out: Hard Final. Practice his problems at home regularly, you will do great.
3 Simple Words: Practice makes perfect! Just get him to like you. Have discussions w/ him about politics, current events etc.. it helps!

The exam is only hard if you don't show up to class. Otherwise he is a very fair professor!
Currently taking him for econ 212 as well. Talk in class, go to office hrs, it helps for him to know you. Funny guy. His tests are easy, no need to buy the book EVER. Look out all finals are cumulative (hard 2), but if u do better on the final, he'll drop the midterm grade. PLEASE SHOW UP TO CLASS
One of the best teacher in Queens college.
Very Funny! One of the best teachers in Queens College! Takes very difficult material and really explains it well. GO TO CLASS and pay attention and you should have no problem understanding. Teast are a little hard but a fair grader.

I don't know who was rating him before, but I can't stand this professor! In class he is so repetitive that even if I would miss 2 weeks of class, the next time I'd come in, I would still know what was going on. We hardly learned anything new every month! He was never available for office hours. He wasn't helpful at all.
Professor Devereux is the most best Professor in Econ Department. I took Econ241 and Econ227 with him and he is the best one.
Very cool professor and down to earth. Explains complicated concepts in terms of everyday events. Always trying to make the class FUN and ENGAGING for students. Very helpful IF YOU ONLY ASK!. A grade of 65 is an A-!!!! Overal a great professor for any class you take with him. If you like engaging classes, this is for you. If not choose someone else
One of the best professors in Queens College. His classes are somewhat difficult but interesting. A 75 on his exam gets you an A. I recommend.
A VERY GOOD PROFESSOR. EXPLAINS EVERYTHING IN DETAIL. WILL DO GOOD ONLY IF U ATTEND THE CLASS. ABSOLUTELY NO NEED TO READ THE BOOK. VERY ATTENTIVE TOWARDS STUDENTS. NEVER HAD ANY IDEA HOW CREDIT CARD COMPANIES ARE ROBBING ME TILL I WENT TO HIS CLASS.
Good professor. He's kind of hard but he knows what he's talking about and you can learn a lot. Just be on time and try not to miss classes...he notices and pick you out sometimes. Explains things nicely and seems to care how you do in his class.

One of the best professor I came across in my college carrer. His classes but challenging, however is extremely helpful and wants you to work. Attend all the classes and participation is a major plus. DO NOT fall asleep in his class, he will deport you back to your country before throwing a chair at you!

Very hard professor. It is such an easy class and he makes it hard. If you do not buy the book it does not matter because he teaches his own things. Exams are very hard and gives huge curves because the class did do well at all,45 average.
This man is one of the best professors that I have ever had at any school. The class material is very interesting but also very hard. He makes things easy for everyone by having a huge curve to go along with a hard class. I recommend him to anyone who has to take this class.
I took Econ241 or they call it BUS 241 with him long time ago. He is a wonderful Professor. His class is not easy but he is willing to help his students all the time. Type-record his lecture is one way to better understand the course content.
Cool guy overall, makes coming to class fun. Tells alot of jokes. Loves wrestling, sports, and politics. Tests are hard but 70 is an A. Practice at home and it will be OK.
Smart professor, knowledgable, but always talking non-common sense, the average of the class was 45, you could get good grad and learn as long as you dont lession to him before the exam, becuase he'll give you something different from what he'll tell you.

I took his class at 8 in the morning and it was worth it. He's great. He gives two exams and drops the midterm if you do better on the final. If you go to everyone of his classes you won't need the book really because he explains everything. If you understand the concepts, his exams are basic addition and subtraction. Go to office hours for help
Nice guy. Very knowledgable. Tests are straight forward and are similar to the old tests which he goes over. Take good notes, study, and you can get an A. You don't really need the text book becuase his lectures are very clear and his tests come from his lectures. Overall, I highly recommend Prof. Devereux!!
He's a good professor. Exams cover what he teaches in class. You can augment his lectures by reading the appropriate sections of the textbook. (BTW, the textbook is really good). ECON 328 is a good course to take, because the topics are so relevant to what's actually going on in the worldwide economy. I thought the class was fairly enjoyable.
Awesome professor; super easy and repeats himself like a million times. If it doesnt stick after that, your just and idiot. Based his exams on previous tests - mostly classwork
Good Professor. He reviews everyting a million times and only holds his students responsible for what he teaches clearly in class. Lab sessions are really helpful too. His tests are not multiple choice, they actually test what was taught in class and a 75 or up is an A. Just beware liberals; "not to say that that's good or bad" :-)
Overall he is a great professor. He explains very well and repeats the subject many times. He drops the midterm if you do well on the final. Need to take a good notes!! Exams are all from the lectures/notes.
This guy is hilarious to listen to. Just follow exactly what he teaches on the chalk board and you'll get an A.
Very educated and knowledgeable in the field but students must work hard. The information is complcated regardless of the professor.
Do not trust the previous ratings, this is the worse professor I had, his exam is extemely difficult. I am the "A" student, but I got "C" from him. The majority in the class are either "C" or below. The exam is not from textbook and notes, so you won't know how to study. Besides, professor's attitude is so cold and not friendly.
One of the best professor for Economics in QC. YES his exams are very tricky but also he is extremely helpful (I went in with questions every week and he was willing to help). Makes the class very interesting and fun. Take good notes exams are based on that. Its a shame that he is not teaching any more! Btw he is also the Economic Dept Chair
Do Not take this Professor. Extremely confusing. I went to this guy during office hours and he couldn't sit with me for one minute everytime I went. He is absolutely not too fond of students from transfer colleges. Please Stay Away! Trust me, you'll be glad you did.
In a nutshell, if you don't know anyone who has taken his class before DON'T TAKE HIM! People take his class because he repeats exams every other semester. If not, then you'l be sitting in his class LOST because he is extremely confusing.
This guy in NOT a good economics teacher. This has to be one of the worst professors at the college. I'm unsure why his rating is so high. He sucks!!!
Hit and miss. Sometimes his lecture is a big rambling about random things with some sort of relevance to the class and you need to pick out the important parts. Other times, his leature is somewhat straight-forward. I wouldn't recommend him, but if you happen to take his course, read the textbook and take notes.
International finance is a hard topic. It's two tests, he'll drop the midterm if your final is better. Take notes but you'll have to study a bit on the side to at least pass. Hardcore economics students will do well.
The guy is the best Economics professor in the College. His lectures are crystal clear, he gives you many real world examples. If you actually want to learn to understand Economics you should take him. 70% is an A. If your final is better than the midterm he'll drop the midterm. Attend the lecture and solve the problems he assigns & you'll do well

HARD... exams are hard. a midterm and final. if u get an higher score on the final he will drop the midterm but remind u that the exam are very hard. essay type questions. no multiple choice or homework. he dont take attendance after the 3rd week of class

This guy rambles on, instead of getting things done. If you ask a question he makes you feel stupid for asking. He doesn't put notes on blackboard. I asked for help many times but never received it. His test questions are so absurd that the tutors are baffled by them. Bottom line: Stay away
The Professor is very Nice and helpful. if you just pay attention to his lecture and practicing all of notes at home, you will get a good grade. over all, one of the best professor in Queens College. Highly recommend it. take this class.

His lectures really are one of a kind. He really makes you think out of the box with his examples and analysis. He makes a tough subject really manageable and his really funny. The best Econ and overall Professor I've had on campus. A must take. 70 is an A. Also if your final is better than your midterm , he drops your midterm grade

He's wonderful , hilarious and knowledgeable . He values honesty more than anything. One test and one final , drops lowest grade. Test is a bit difficult 4 questions with a,b,c,d for each section. HE WILL SAY TO STUDY OLD QUIZZES AND EXAMS BUT THATS A LIE HE WILL NEVER GIVE YOU THE SAME TEST OR QUIZ HE TRICKS YOU WITH THAT! He's a gem love him

He is not the best professor. I'm not even sure where these positive comments are coming from. He grades you from two exams that he makes up on his own. His slides are not on BB, forcing you to come to class. He loves to be right and is so confusing. The class average was a 48, bruh a 48. That means he isn't teaching well, yet he blames the class.
His class is very confused, and he did not put ppt on BB. The exam is very hard. When he talks about exam question, the answer is not clearly. I AM GONNA FAIL. TAKE ANOTHER ELECTIVE CLASS!
His tests are the worst. He gives only 1 midterm and one final. No homework, no textbook, only slides that he does not put on BB. He reviews old exams which are different every year. you should stay away if you want to pass
My guy Johnny is the goat. Not gonna lie, 328 is hard, but Devereux is AMAZING. These bad reviews are probably lazy students- just show up to class, pay attention, take notes, and read the book if you buy it. I only got a B- because I made little mistakes, but I know plenty of people who got A-+. Take Johnny, you'll learn & have fun- hes a clown :)
Worst professor I've ever taken. Gets off topic easily and doesn't explain the topics clearly. If you don't understand, he blames you when really he just isn't a good professor. STAY AWAY
Your grade relies on only a midterm and final. Doesnt put up the PPTs on BB, which requires you to be in class but youll be lost either way. 75% of the class failed the midterm, but yet hell blame students for not understanding. Gets off topic a lot and likes to speed through problems. Not a great professor, would not recommend at all
This class is an absolute disaster. Professor has a unique way of going about things and thinks he is the president of the school. Good luck trying to pass this disaster.

this professor is terrible. doesnt know how to teach and isn't clear about problems or examples for tests. exclaims the good lord every damn day. you can't ask any questions without professor cutting you off.
One of the worst professors I've happened to take. While we does know his economics, his methods of teaching are horrendous. Blabbers nonstop throughout the lectures about everything but the topic at hand and doesn't allow students to ask questions about his confusing teachings (if he says he'll get back to your question, he won't). DO NOT TAKE
Tough. Failed both midterms, but the final is all that matters. Studied real hard for it. Wasn't really good in the class so either I somehow scored a B- on the final or he gave a really nice curve, or in between. Class online, final in person. I wish it was in person the whole time, easier to pay attention. Was just happy to pass tbh. Nice man!
This Professor is one of the most understanding and intelligent professors I have encountered. If you really want to learn, he's the professor for you. Remember to go over the textbook and spend many hours reviewing his class because it's a lot of information to take in. he's awesome !
He is a hard professor. Only good thing I can comfortably say about him is the fact that he listened to the class requesting that we take our final online. His tests are dense and hard. His lectures are practically pointless as he goes off topic half the class and I am not exaggerating. He is nice, one of the better professors but still not good.
Not only his Multiple choice questions are literally designed to trick you, but he also feels paranoid about students cheating. So he makes his exams super hard on purpose and does not curve when he even promises. His goal is not to teach students effectively and his HWs, reviews and lectures are not even designed to help you out in the exam.
Never took such a difficult online course in my entire college career. The 3 homework's did not prepare us for the midterm or the final exam. He drops the lower exam grade so you only get graded on one exam. All he does is lecture. He is sympathetic to those who have their struggles outside of school. No extra credit, no makeups.
Complicated lectures, tries to trick you on tests. He's a super nice guy. if you go to all classes + show effort you should pass, but 2 exams which were 95% of your grade were brutal. The final exam had q's with variables that we never covered in class, and I attended every lecture. Studying old exams doesn't help even though that's his exam review
Took him many years ago. Pretty sure my grade was made up from the blue book tests (C) probably would got higher if I argued with him. I would have graduated summa cum laude, but got magna cum laude solely because of this fraud. I HATE this professor with a passion.
If there is a 0, I will give it to him. Don't believe the overall rating. Avoid him and save your life!
Attend class - this is where he does the problems that will appear on exams. Professor Devereux is brilliant. Unbiased and incredibly smart. He wants all students to do well and presents info with a sense of humor to ease any anxiety. Of course - effort is required. Study the problems from class before exams and you will do well.
