Extremely easy course. Gives you exactly what to study before the exam. Most of class is occupied by him telling us funny stories about himself. Not a boring guy at all. Easy A!

Interesting lectures, but don't bother taking notes since all test questions come from the book. You won't be bored in his class, trust me!

This professor is really a good guy. He lightens up the atmosphere with his funny and witty remarks. His tests are easy and you don't usually have a final, instead on the day of the final he lets you make-up an old exam that you didn't do that great on.

Relates psychology to real life; very helpful with questions. If he doesn't know something he calls someone who does and lets you know what he found out.

Easy classes, all you gotta do is show up for class. Also, spend about 10 minutes studying for one of his tests. Just be prepared to listen to all of his opinions about everything. Easy A.

Absolutely wonderful prof! I don't recommend missing class - it can damage your grade in the end if you only show up for reviews and tests. He has a lot to teach beyond the subject at hand. He is a wonderful teacher, and an amazing human being.

Its a very entertaining class. The test are very straight forward. Be sure to show up for class because he takes role, and everything you need to know for the tests is disscussed in his lectures.

Great professor who really knows what he's talking about. He's very entertaing and prepares well for exams. He does teach something that some people didn't address...what I learned more than anything else in his class is to be skeptical. He allows you to question theories and have your own opinions.

This guy is great! Has a great personality and sense of humor. You learn so much more than just whats in the book. Just go to class,take notes, review what he says for exams and you should do good. If all my profs were like him, I would love college.

Out of all the professors I've had, Doc is the BEST one I have ever had in my school career. He's straight up and if you make an effort to go to his class (which you will want to) easy A right there. He makes psych interesting and he's a hilarious person! Always keeps you laughing!

Doc was awesome. Most of the questions on his tests come straight from the book, so read it. His stories of home and former military should be published. My first day, I had tears in my eyes I was laughing so hard. Highly recommended!

Drake is very understanding and a trully interesting teacher. He doesn't try to make the class hard, and knows that students have more in their lives then HIS class. He relates real life to psychology in an exteremly amusing and sometimes sarcastic way. Highly recommend taking his class!

Cares about the students. Hard core behaviorist. His comedic humor will get you through any early morning class. you'll learn a moderate amount.

Doc really cares about his students. He's always willing to work with you if you need him to. He has a way of making you want to attend class and of making you question any preconceived notions about psych you might have. I recommend everyone should take at least one class from him.

Dr. Drake is not your average prof. His lectures rarely consist of anything in the book; rather he calls on students to draw on their own experiences and biases (as well as his own experiences) to teach the class. Attendance is a must (don't try to sneak out at breaks!) but the tests and observation paper are easy. Fun class. Am taking him again.

AWESOME PROFESSOR!!! I am definitely signing up for all the classes I can take with him!!! He is a great and understanding professor, but if you have to miss or leave early talk to him! You shouldnt want to leave because his lectures are awesome and give you stories of your own to tell your friends.

read the chapters before class his jokes pertain to the material you read. If you don't read then you won't learn. This isn't high school so turn off your MTV and open the book you paid for. Its your future career at stake.

Get 2 people to rotate with you to sign each other in so you can skip classes. You only need to go to class for the exam REVIEWS and the exams themselves. He tells you everything you need to know for the test on review day.

Coolest prof ive ever had. He bends over backwards to help you out too. You have to do one paper, but its pretty simple. He does a review before each test and he tells you exactly what will be on the test and he's hilarious and could quite possibly be the greatest hardass of all time

This professor is the best. You don't even notice that you are actually paying attention to him, and therefore you remmember everything he says. He doesn't make you sleepy. And I don't understand why anyone would want to skip his class anyway because when you get out of there you feel SO much better and alive, he just wakes you up. Gotta LOVE IT!

Doc is a really great professor. Understands what it's like to be a college student. Different teaching method that really grabs your attention and makes you want to learn. Tests are fairly easy if you do the review. Also, read the areas of the review in the test for further clarification. Don't take the test lightly or you won't do very well

Best professor hands down! It doesnt even seem like a college class because of the great job he does. He relates almost everything in the class to personal experiences hes had. By far the BEST PROFESSOR at utsa. His unique but effective teaching style will make you want to come to class. All in all he is the best professor, so take him!

It has been said time and time again Drake is awesome. He's obviously a very intelligent man who chooses to make his class entertaining. If you can't take a joke, want difficult exams and/or a condenscending professor who hates his job, do not take him; if you want to learn a little about PSY & have some fun, take him--it's WELL WORTH the money!!

Doc is a great guy! He gives candy to his visitors, and he tells stories in class. He does curse, but so do we, so don't be a judge! He gives a great review, notes in class are not required. He gives you points for coming to class, just show up for an A. If you want a harder, boring professor who will overload you with work: LOOK elsewhere!

Doc,is good at what he does and he has a heart of gold! Frankly,I am tired of people bagging on him! Doc is fair and kind. Doc actually cancelled lunch with his wife give me advice and support on a non academic issue. What professor would do that? H also took me to seek additional resources. If you don't like his class put up or shut up!

Initially I thought he was into himself but I was wrong. Doc seems to have been through a lot and proves it with knowledge. In a big school where the faculty seems to careless, Doc stands out with his experience and people skills. What ever happened to professors who weren't so busy doing research to show a little compassion for their students

I really learned a lot from Drake. You do have to know your stuff for the test but he makes the material easy for you to understand so when you do take the test you know what his asking.

I've taken three classes with him and will take another with him. I highly recommend him. He's very entertaining that as you listen to his lectures, you actually forget you are learning. Every one of his stories has relevance, you just need to pay attention to the meaning. He makes it easy and fun to learn!

Doc gives very entertaining lectures, full of real life experiences on a topic that I wasn't very interested in. He's worked in long term care facilities before, so he lets you know how it really works, as opposed to the book which simply defines disorders and such. He gives you a review, and you look up the information yourself. Yay for Doc!

hes a great teacher and one of my favorite teachers ive ever had. he makes going to class fun and he shows interest in wanting to here what his students think. He lets us know almost exactly whats going to be on the test so there isnt much of a reason for getting a bad grade in his class.

This is the best professor at UTSA. He teaches very clearly and he shows a great concern for his students. His lectures are always interesting and funny. An A or B is easy as long as you show up to class and listen.

Doc is such an awesome teacher! I feel as if I have paid to go to a comedy club for an hour, 3 days a week. If you like to laugh, his teaching style is for you. His tests are easy. He's a great story teller and he actually cares about what goes on in his students' lives. Very nice and interesting man.

BEST teacher at UTSA!! he's very interesting and makes you want to go to class. He gets off topic lots of the time but there are interetsing stories. Go to class..take notes..and study what he tells you and you should get a good grade!

Doc is an excellent professor. His class was fairly easy and very interesting: 3 exams (gives a retake for any test you wish), 1 project, 1 final. If you study his reviews and attend SI, you should earn an "A" in the class! Professor recommended!

I have to say he surprised me at first. He is very blunt, but I feel when we graduate and go out into the world we will face very blunt people who are not going to sugar coat things. He is a great professor and he teaches so that you can actually apply them not just memorize. If you really you really want to observe and laugh a lot take Dr. Drake.

Doc is by far one of the smartest people I have encountered. He gives you real life situations, either observing them yourself or by explaination, instead of boring you with a bunch of useless information. This man knows what you need to survive in the psychology world and greatly emphasizes hard work and dedication.

Doc is an awesome professor! Don't go into this class expecting an easy A or having your hand held. He's there to explain concepts in the textbook by providing real life experience, not coddle people or sugar coat things. He's blunt, he's funny, and he's inspiring. It's a shame that some people have to be so closed-minded. Be prepared to learn!
