Professor Dunlap loves his subject. He likes the students too and is really on their side. He wants you to succeed. Tests are pretty easy, and he gave us a study guide, so we knew what to focus on. His passion and knowledge are inspiring and I love history now too! Easy grader really. Is more than fair. Funny too. You'll enjoy him!

I have never been fond of history for some reason. It always bore me and would manage to pass with a C in highschool. I took this class at 7:35 A.M. yeah, A.M. way to ealier for me to function, however I was always awake in that class because he made history fun to learn. I passed with an A. Quizes are easy, just read and pay attention.

Professor Dunlap made me like history and be more interested about it. He is very nice and a fun professor! Recommended.

I love Mr. Dunlap!He is seriously one of the best professors I've ever had, not only is he super chill and fun but he cares about his students and makes his lectures interesting. Show up to class take notes and pay attention to his lectures with that you should def pass! wish more teachers were like him!

Professor Dunlap is the best! He actually cares about his students. He goes out of his way to help you. It is easy to ask questions. Just take notes and study your notes and you'll be fine. Expect a group presentation + an individual paper which are not that bad actually. The paper he gives you a guideline so you exactly know that to write about.

Actually, I was afraid of the "History Subject" because I assumed that it would be challenging. However, it was so easy at Professor Dunlap's class. I am so glad that I chose his class in Spring 2016 and passed it with an "A"

Professor Dunlap made this History 118 very interesting. He does not use PP, and explains everything you need to from each time period in this history course. He is not a tough grader, the tests are very easy and he provides a study guide on what you need to know. There is one group presentation and an essay, He's very helpful and funny too.

John is AMAZING!. He's so caring and well informed of what he's teaching. There is only one group project at the end of the semester, and 3 tests and one final. He gives you a study guide as well. There are one or two movies that you will be watching in class, but most of the time is you show up, take notes, and you will be fine.

John Dunlap is probably the best professor you will ever have at GCC. He is hilarious, he can make history interesting and fun for anybody and is very influential. I highly recommend taking his class.

He's a very nice helpful guy and good professor and doesn't make your life difficult. There were a few exams and an essay, all of which were relatively easy. More professors should be like Professor Dunlap!

He's a good teacher, I really liked having him and wouldn't mind taking him again. You need to study for the tests but he provides a study guide which covers everything that will be on the test. He's really understanding and overall a great person! I highly recommend him

He is truly a caring professor who wants his students to understand. It is his 2nd year teaching, so he's changing up his test formatting until he finds the right fit, but that's not a big deal. He takes student's advice and suggestions into consideration and is a fair grader. Lots of terms to memorize though. If you do the work, you'll be fine.

One week in, I realized that his class will definitely require some work. If you take your time and thoroughly go through his study guides, you will be more than prepared for the tests. He really wants to help all of his students, so if anything is unclear, do not hesitate to ask. Meet with him after class for extra help! He's a great teacher!

professor dunlap is the most caring teacher i've ever seen. he wants to give everyone A as long as you participate and listen to him. the class was based on 3 tests and one take home test. no midterm , and the final was half in class half take home. he gives many extra credit questions . and study guides are all based on the exam questions.

I just took him last semester, and he is awesome!! He gives his cell # out to students and prefers texting him rather than emails. He is so nice and really makes a 4 hour long class fun! I highly recommend taking him!

This guy is a LEGEND! Easiest history class Ive taken in my life. He makes history really fun and makes you actually want to wake up in the morning to go to his class. He lets you throw markers at him and if you hit him you get EXTRA CREDIT!! DONT HESITATE TO TAKE HIM!

Such a great person. Unfiltered sense of humor combined with very passionate teaching. Almost all of the tests had a take home portion to it. For the other half of the test he would either tell you what to study or provide a study guide. He offers lots of extra credit and really wants people to do well. I'll miss his class.

Professor Dunlap is a real gem. He genuinely cares about his students. His lectures are great and he gives you an effective study guide before each test, including the final. Of course, his class does require you to study but honestly, if you fail his class it is because you are lazy. He is a good person and I am glad to have known him!

The bad reviewers below me combined can make one person. I'd take Dunlap's class again for his amazing easy Bowling Final at the end. His study guides lists all the terms you need to know for the test but, his multiple choice Q's are memes so know your terms precisely (generally easy). Make sure to throw a marker @ him for extra credit. He's a god.

Professor Dunlap is an interesting character. Caring and cracks jokes here and there. Tests are really easy if you study his guide and read the book. I always studied off the book on test days and did just fine. The lectures are helpful too, he makes his lectures fun and easy to follow through. Cant wait for the bowling party!

Qyasar the best teacher had in GCC. A lot of lectures tho and it may seem a lot but he is a great guy, great teacher.

If you're a lazy student or don't have time, maybe this professor isn't for you but if you are willing and enjoy learning I would highly recommend him. Don't hesitate to ask him questions. Pay real close attention to his lectures, he will tell you what to focus on for the tests. If you don't take the time to study his tests will be hard.

You can get an A. Just follow my directions. Show up to class everyday, he gives extra credit every day. He also tells you the questions that are going to be on the test sometimes throughout the lecture. Print the study guide, and memorize everything on it, 2-3 days worth of studying, so you can really remember. DURING THE test ASK HIM QUESTIONS!!!

Amazing professor. The class is not easy and you have to read the book and study hard to be able to get an A at least, but he helps you a lot. His lectures are long sometimes, but they are entertaining. Sometimes he can hint answers that could be on the exams. Exams consisted of multiple choice questions and short answers. I recommend him.

Professor Dunlap strives to help everyone pass. Lecture can get a little boring but its nothing too bad; he usually makes it fun. Tests are alright but I'd recommend studying to some degree (tip: ask him questions during the exams). Definitely would take him again! :-)

An amazing professor. While 3 hour straight online history lectures are a tall order, he makes it fun enough with interesting examples and humor in between. His tests are very doable as long as you pay attention to his lectures and do the study guides. Tests are a few multiple choice and 3-4 short answer questions, all covered in the book and class

DE BEST PROFESSOR I'VE TAKEN. If you love political sarcasm and history, and keep your every work up you'll be totally fine. He is like the guy living next door and talking about any stuff to you, though there is NO PP slides or stuff he gives AT ALL. FYI -- take advantage of ECs during every class that boost your grades up, for sure.

I love this professor. He's very caring and hilarious. His audio lectures are long but it's so worth it bc that's exactly what's on the exams. Extra points if you participate in class. 4 short answer questions are included on tests. Only 5 easy assignments throughout the semester. He makes learning history very interesting. TAKE HIM ASAP.

his classes are very lecture heavy but you dont have to listen if you dont want to since he also posts audio lectures. the tests are straightforward and you will get full points as long as you answer all parts of the questions. if you struggle with the tests, you can participate in class for ec points!! very nice professor :)

Mr. Dunlap is a fantastic professor. Both his lectures and the book are interesting. Participate frequently and you can earn extra points on exams, plus become one of his favorites. The exams can be a bit hefty, but if you do the readings and study, you'll pass.

Make sure to listen to his audio lectures before class and take script notes. Earn 1 extra credit by answering his questions in every class. No homework during summer, but you should complete "all" possible questions in his study guide on your own if you want a good grade. He is not a hard grader on short answer questions, but MC could be hard.

Professor Dunlap really does care about his subject, and his students. He is a bright, charismatic lecturer and engages with you often. Make sure to pay attention to his lectures, which can be drawn out, but are quite detailed and include key points he includes on his exams.

THE most understanding teacher ever! You can tell how much he loves his job. He gives extra credit when you participate. Our class had a TA, & if you went to her lectures, she helped you prepare for tests and HW + you got 5 extra credit points for attending. He gives HW (read + answer 4 questions) every 2 weeks. Tests 8 M.C. + 4 short answer.

One of the best professors I have ever had! Professor Dunlap is so caring and listens to what all his students have to say. Yes, he could be a tough grader at times, but he made sure to give us opportunities to improve our grades through participation and by dropping subtle test hints here and there. We were so sad to leave his class at the end :(

By far the most fun class Ive had in college and Ive been to 4 schools at this point (veteran life) Id take his class again just because, it also helped that our class was fun too. He refuses to be a tough professor and wants to see you win.

Dunlaps class was so fun. Who knew history could be fun. He is very insightful and has strong opinions which is always fun. Tests were not too hard.

Taking his class is definitely a good decision! His lectures are fun and very relaxed, his tests are a little more tricky though. But except for the final they are all online. He is super nice and very understanding if you have any problems. His SI is also great and you'll get extra credit for attending. I would definitely take his class again!

Prof Dunlap has made class insanely interesting and by far the most fun. I wish i took 118 tho, sounds more interesting and recent compared to 117. Listen to online audio lectures and take notes from the study guide sheet he provides for each possible chapter. You wont regret it.

Just trust me and take him and if you are still having a hard time during his class go to his office hours before the exam and he WILL HELP GET THAT A

Mr. Dunlap is a great History teacher. All you have to do is pay attention to his Lectures and Audio Lectures. If you have done that, then you basically got an A+ on the next test. He even took our class bowling.

I learned a great deal about early American history in this class. There was one quiz a week, a midterm, and final. He wanted a lot of particular responses in the short answer replies, if you fill in the study guides and pay attention to details you will do great. This teacher made history fun, he is knowledgeable and a great teacher.

his final exam was kinda hard, but he helped us and he do accept cheat cards for finals. he is cool
